"I thought you had wished to send me back the redemption route instead of banishing me? Or are you really looking for a reason to banish me, against my sister's will?"

"Did I ever say I wanted to redeem you?" Bikini couldn't really recall doing so. She'd given Dahlia the options, and thought she'd been quite clear as to which one she preferred. "Personally I don't think you can be redeemed. It's only because of your sister that I haven't banished you already. I don't need your souls rejoined to do that." Bikini sighed and plopped her plump face into her hands. "I also see no point in pretending to be the almighty goody goody hero." She really didn't. "I never did like you." Bikini looked wistfully upward much like Iris was prone to do. "Actually, I can't recall anyone that did." Her gaze snapped back down to Chris. "Well except for Iris. She always loved you." She looked over at Phoenix who was still quivering in his tight pink ball. "And Mr. Lucky did in a fashion. I don't think he could help himself, really. He cares too much about everyone." Bikini smirked. "But you made sure try and break that part about him, didn't you?" She laughed. "Ho ho ho, the two people in the world to ever actually care about you and you're trying so hard to stop them."

(Um, the building they're in is burning down... did anyone realise that? XD)
Doug turned the corner and ran down the hall that lead to the exit. Her hallway was an ofshoot of one of these. Doug hoped she'd be ok when he got there. When he got to the T-Junction he stopped and listened into the conversation. Greg was talking to her, saying that he'd die for her. Doug fought the urge to stamp his feet and yell, Greg was so much more eloquent than he was. Then again, at least he admitted that he knew Doug liked her. Then there was more talk, of how they should get the Spirit out. Doug decided to go to them and tell them that Bikini was able to save them untill.... he realised that there was something that they'd forgotten about.

He suddenly ran down the corridoor towards them, flailing his arms around. They looked like they though he was going to bet them up, until they realised what he was shouting.
"GET OUT OF HERE YOU GUYS! THE BUILDINGS ON FIRE!"

(Edit: I don't think I made much sense really, but the room would STILL be burning down. With no-one there to stop it It's going to set the whole building ablaze. Luckily, everyone's at class so there shouldn't be many injuries or casualties.)

Emi almost looked annoyed that he was pointing this out. The fire had indeed spread as they were talking. It had grown rather close and in their little moment the screaming and running students hadn't even entered their realm of attention. Hoping to distract the man until they were consumed by fire wasn't going to work, then she noticed the knife Doug possessed.
"He's here to kill me!" Emi yelped and clamored behind Gregor for protection.

Startled, Gregor looked around and saw Doug, who looked as if he were indeed in a state of panic. Soon Emi fearfully exclaimed, "He's here to kill me!" and Gregor found himself being used as a shield. Even though he was unsure what to think of this outburst, his protective instincts kicked in anyway, growing in a manner not unlike the fire. "The fire is a danger. Thank you for reminding me, but Doug...what are you doing with that knife?"

There was a moment of silence before Doug realised that he was holding the knife and slowly placed it on the floor, before kicking it away.
"I thought that Emily was in trouble and I wanted to protect her. But I guess it's all fine." he said softly. "But something tells me that my words will fall on deaf ears, so lets all move away from the flames before we get singed." And it was true; the flames were getting extremely close to the three of them, but strangely everyone felt sureally calm.

This was taking too long. The part of her trapped in that man was growing weaker and so was she. She couldn't rejoin so long as that blasted woman was in the way. Getting to her other half without looking suspicious would be tough. Yes, the fire made a grand excuse, but she wanted to see these men burn in it first. Especially Doug Swallows, the first man to ever spurn her before she was finished with him.
"Please! Help me! It's stuck in here with me! It says I have to die to get it out! I don't want to die!" Emi clung to Gregor tightly.

Phoenix bolted to his feet and his shoes squeaked against the floor is he shot jaggedly down the hallway. His mind was frantic and fevered as he dodged obstacles only visible to himself. It would appear to those around him that he was running away, but in his tattered mind he was running towards.
Even Bikini looked disturbed by this. If that man did something stupid she'd have to rethink her entire plan.
"Iris, he's running to the other half." Bikini declared as it occurred to her just what was happening. "In that state he's going to put himself in serious danger." Bikini got up. "I'll take Chris to the cleansed area. I can release Dahlia's spirit safely from there." She dusted off her robe.

"I-I understand..." Iris wobbled to her feet, still a bit dizzy from her recent blow. If what her sister had just said were true, the other Dahlia wouldn't be showing Phoenix any mercy...
She gazed longingly at Chris/Dahlia for a short second she probably shouldn't have spared before speaking with complete confidence. "Sister Bikini... She can be saved." Without wasting any more time, she spun on her heel and dashed down the hallway after her crazed love.

"Oh good. I was hoping she'd come to her senses." Bikini flashed the girls a smile. "Well, no point wasting time here. I'm going to need your assistance in preparing the redemption ritual." Bikini sighed and rummaged through her bag. "First off we have to purify a square and then..." She continued on with the complicated explanation of what she'd need both Jade and Meghan to do.

Phoenix clipped a few corners with his shoulder as he turned them. When his staggered stride would get to close to a wall he'd push himself away with his hands. Once he was outside running towards another building you could hear the sirens of firemen closing in. The outside world would soon be closing in on them.
Phoenix pushed past objecting professors and ran into the burning building. The thick smoke filling the halls was stifling, but not enough to stop him. His mind was overly focused to the point that only one repeating thought rushed through his head. It was moving too fast for him to see clearly, but when it stopped so did he. Save Dahlia. Right there in bold pink letters. He stared at them with large black saucer eyes. If he wasn't carefully then the words would fly through his iris and bore themselves into his retinas like woodchucks.
"Ghhhhhn." He squeezed his eyes shut, fell to his knees, and held his head. "AAAH!" He let go and slapped his palms against the hot floor.
His hair was a mess, his eyes darted wildly along the smoky halls, and his breathing was hard and frantic. Any words being said to him was only heard in the deep bleats of demonic sheep.

It wasn't too hard figuring out which way Phoenix went; he was leaving a clear trail of toppled students and teachers, and most of those he'd missed were still staring in the direction he'd traveled with varying degrees of suprise and annoyance. Catching up to him proved to be a completely different story. Even in his current condition, he was simply much faster than Iris, and having the world spin around her was a handicap she didn't need.
As Iris raced around one particular corner, she tripped over her own feet, smashed her shoulder into the opposing wall, and promptly screamed out in pain. She used a couple more precious seconds to recompose herself before getting back up to continue her chase, attempting to shake off her fresh injury in the process.

Phoenix's body quivered and he bolted to his feet when the floor started slipping through his fingers. He found himself trapped as the tile bubbled and cracked around him, peeling up and away so that his path was destroyed. Phoenix clenched his hands into determined fists. Damn, it was kumquat season and he was all out of spoons. He'd have to make a jump for it. This would be difficult since his feet were covered in the ectoplasm creeping and slurping from the dark. It oozed up his legs and wrapped around his waist. The cold horrible slime of it picking daisies and blue eighty-six thermodynamics.

Chris dashed down the hall. Dahlia wanted to catch up to Iris, and then Phoenix, and she wanted to do it quickly. "Can't you run any faster!?" she said panickingly. "I'm sorry! I was never a good person at athletics!" Chris responded.

Eventually, she came into sight of her sister. "Iris! Wait up!" "We can stop her! Wait for us! We don't know where to go!"

Iris pressed her palm to her temple, wishing her head would just stop pounding for ten minutes. Now she was starting to hear voices. No, wait... She threw a glance behind her. "Chris!" she smiled, slowing her pace a bit so he could catch up. "Are you okay? I didn't expect you to be back this so-" Her mild suprise multiplied exponentially and nearly caused her to stumble again as she noticed the glowing gem on his hood and the way he was refering to himself in the first person plural. "D-Dahlia?! Why...Weren't you supposed to be with Sister Bikini?"

It was at about the time that the slimy cold black had oozed up his back and was wrapping around his neck that the glowing goat whispering the name William would eat it off if he managed to get over to it. That would require breaking down the door between them. So he did what any rational man in his position would do. He grabbed a key to unlock it. Of course what he'd grabbed was a chair, and to unlock the door he rammed the chair against it over and over again. Only there wasn't actually a door there so he was mostly just denting the plaster on the wall.
Before he could get the key to turn the black muck crawling all over him grabbed him by the throat and pulled him back into the adjacent wall. He clawed at it and yanked it off. Then he began to wrestle with it.
To the casual onlooker it would appear that he was fighting with his own scarf. However the building was still on fire, so any onlookers probably wouldn't be casual.

"A-alright, yes, you're right..." Iris took Chris' hand and led him down the path of destruction Phoenix had recently carved. This was probably the entirely wrong way to go about this; if Bikini had been allowed to break the seal and free her sister, she would have made much better time and been that less limited in her actions. Dahlia would likely have realized that if she hadn't been so panicked... She was panicked, wasn't she? It was clear, not only from her voice, but from her very presence. Dahlia didn't have to be doing this. She could have easily stayed with Sister Bikini to be released. Even if Emily and the others perished, the rest of her spirit would live. She had nothing to gain by helping now.
Dahlia wanted to save them. She really, truly, genuinely wanted to save them.
As Iris burst through the doors leading outside, Chris in tow, her tears threatened to blind her. They weren't bad enough to keep her from seeing the inferno before her, though. She wiped her eyes with her free sleeve and plunged into the flaming building.

The fact that Phoenix wasn't currently suffering from horrific third degree burns was mostly due to the very same reason Bikini named him Mr. Lucky. However this luck probably wouldn't last forever, and was, in fact, starting to ebb away already. While the fire had been on the top floor, and was quite possibly the slowest fire in the history of man, crumbling debris was starting to fall through some things. Namely the floor above Phoenix. As he rolled a heavy decorative statue fell through the flame licked cieling and would have crushed him if not for the scarf getting the upper hand in the fight and making him roll out of the way. Phoenix didn't seem to notice this at all. He didn't hear his friends yelling either.

The blaze was even worse than expected. Not that there was ever really such a thing as a 'good' building-razing fire, of course... Were they already too late?
Something crashed loudly not more than twenty feet away. The noise drew Iris' attention to it, as well as to the familiar man nearby. She dropped Chris' hand and ran to Phoenix, hugging him tightly when she reached him. "Feenie! Oh thank god you're alright...no, no, you're not alright!" She pulled out of the embrace to speak to him face to face. "Please, get out of here! You're not well at all! You have to let Sister Bikini help you!" Whether her words got through those glazed eyes was another matter.

"Watch out for that!" came Dahlia's voice as Chris looked above him and dodged a large falling chunk of ceiling.

Phoenix responded to the sudden hug without about as much reaction as a limp noodle. It wasn't until she pulled away that he smiled at her. Even with all the confusing things happening to him he knew his Iris when he saw her.
"Hi you." He said happily. "Hi, Dahlia!" He waved at Chris. "You're not still sore about me forgetting your birthday, are you? I didn't mean for you to get ripped apart by beavers." With Iris there his scarf returned to normal, so he wrapped it around his neck. "I keep trying to save you, but I guess I'm not very good at it." The good humor never left his voice. "I know a pterodactyl stole the VCR, but I got you a tennis bracelet." He turned his attention back to Iris again. "Do you like candied apples? I think I saw a vendor around the corner. I think he might be a werewolf though, she we might want to bring a cocoon."

Chris kept running around, before remembering. "Her room! She might be in her room!"

"ARE YOU INSANE!?" shrieked Dahlia. "Why would she still be in her room at a time like this!?"

"Hey, don't ask-- ... Wait, can't you detect where your other half is?"

Dahlia paused. "... Yes, I can try. If she'll respond..." With that, she attempted to send a signal to her other half, hoping to get a response.

Gregor breathed a sigh of relief. "That's good to know. Thank you, Doug. You're right. We need to get out of here." Almost immediately thereafter, Emi exclaimed, "Please! Help me! It's stuck in here with me! It says I have to die to get it out! I don't want to die!" and began to cling to him as if her life depended on it. It was an enjoyable sensation, but one he couldn't afford to savor right now. Turning his head, he addressed her. "Not to worry, Emi. You don't have to die. I know that statement to be a lie. What we need to do right now is get going. Doug has a point and I don't mean the knife. I hope your legs are as fast as your grip is strong, because we're going outside."

Okay, Phoenix was definately gone, and before Iris could object to Chris' request (or was it Dahlia's? This was so confusing...), he'd passed out of her range of sight. She really didn't want to leave the two to do this themselves, they were both getting weaker by the second. Then again, she was nearly given a concussion mere minutes ago, and as for Phoenix... Her only option was to get him back to Sister Bikini as soon as she could and hope she had enough time to make it back here to assist the search.
Please be safe... Iris prayed silently while leading Phoenix by his arm out of the burning complex.

Emi gave a warm smile and nodded, but suddenly she angrily screamed the next words.
"NO! I WILL HAVE MY REVENGE NOW!" Once she uttered them she looked surprised and clapped her hands over her mouth. They didn't stay there long as she used them to create an explosion of flame directed at Doug.

Phoenix was pretty easily led at first. He was perfectly content holding Iris' arm and occasionally slipping his fingers through her hair. He seemed pretty tranquil so long as she was touching him. It wasn't until they were outside that he said to her cheerily.
"We should go on a picnic!" Then proceeded to pull her with him as he ran towards a tree.

Dahlia heard her other side call back out to her 'NO! I WILL HAVE MY REVENGE NOW!', and it echoed so loudly that even Chris heard it. "I-It's no use..."

"Well, where did it come from?" asked Chris.

"T-The top floor..."

"Emi's room is up there! Let's go!" Chris dashed up the stairs and down the hall, Dahlia constantly alerting him to things falling or tipping over, or things he might trip over. "EEEEMILLLYYYY!" he called out again, trying to look for her.

Even though he knew he should have expected this, it was still a shock to see Emi furiously shout, "NO! I WILL HAVE MY REVENGE NOW!" It was comforting to see her cover her mouth in a look of surprise, but what followed convinced Gregor that he had no choice. Her arms snaked out on either side of him and shot a burst of fire directly at Doug. Less than a second passed before Gregor's protective instincts flared anew, only this time in favor of Doug. "Oh no, you don't!" With almost no conscious thought, Gregor crossed his arms in front of his chest and brought them down hard on Emi's from the inside, spreading them apart. Instantly he gripped her wrists and lifted them above her head. Tilting them backward, he pushed her six feet away from the raging inferno, extended his right leg between her feet, and swept her off balance, keeping her wrists aloft to soften the impact. When her back safely reached ground, he allowed himself to fall forward, pinning her wrists firmly against the floor and pressing his shins against her thighs in order to secure her legs. This must have looked quite unsavory to any passersby, but again he had no choice. Darting an unseeing glance to his right, he shouted to Doug, "I've bought us some time! Run!" Returning his attention to Emi, he growled, "You're not killing anyone! You're going to cooperate whether you want to or not. I'm going to get you outside even if I have to lock you into a full nelson and push you out! Understood?"

Suzumi raced behind Chris, trying to find where Emi was.

"This smoke...it's unbeleiveable..." She coughed and covered her mouth, following Chris.

"If Dahlia's evil side cannot be talked around...I will have no choice, but to put the plan into action." She thought to herself. She was scared, very scared, not from the flames, but from the memories this was bringing to her...

Doug watched Gregs acrobatic display with interest; he had to admit that Greg was pretty skilled at grabbing people. He was a bit concerned about the fact that he did it to Emily though. Doug was extremely opposed to the idea of possibly hurting her. But at least he wasn't hit by the fire thanks to Greg.

However, when he was told to go on ahead of the others, he knew he couldn't. He ran back to where to Greg was and then Grabbed Emily's legs. Greg then grabbed hold of her arms and upper body and they lifted her off the ground before walking quickly away from the flames and towards the exit.

Oh, a picnic! That did sound delightful, it'd been so long since their last... She'd have to take him up on the offer when this was all over.
Iris dug her heels into the dirt to slow Phoenix's mad dash. "No, no, not right now, Feenie," she scolded him gently once they'd stopped. She still wasn't sure if he could understand her in this state, but it didn't hurt to try. "We have to go see Sister Bikini. If you behave, I promise we'll go on a picnic later, so be good for me, okay?"

Iris' words were on par with the warbling noises adults made in Peanuts, but she was pulling the other way so that's where Phoenix went. If Iris had decided to walk off the edge of a cliff he would probably walk off it with her.

A deep throated cackle resounded through the fire filled room. The flames that hadn't attempted to touch them yet danced devilishly as Emi's body was completely engulfed. The fire didn't seem to hurt Emi at all, but to anyone else touching them created a horrible sensation that went beyond extreme heat. These flames were fueled by the souls of the dead and in them you could hear their tortured screams.
"Idiots!" Dahlia hissed through Emi's teeth. "You have no idea of the power that you're facing! The only reason you're not dead is because I want to see you suffer!"

Chris rushed through the hallway until he caught sight of Emi... being carried by two people, who he identified as Doug and Greg.

"EMI!" Chris rushed to where they were, and then heard Dahlia hissing through Emi's voice. The other Dahlia answered through Chris: "Stop! We have to recombine our halves and go back before it's too late!" She then sent some signals that were unheard by Chris or Emi, that said, "Trust me on this."

Gregor had watched and felt his hand catch fire before, but this was an entirely different experience. Ordinary fire burned from the outside in. Hellfire, he found, burned from the inside out. Going right past his skin and even his flesh, it worked directly on the nerves. An agonized cry scraped his throat raw and probably did the same to the eardrums of anyone within a 100-foot radius. Almost as if in response, a distant voice called out, "EMI!" The pain rendered his breathing ragged. He let go, staring in disbelief at his apparently unsinged palms as every muscle in each of his hands twitched uncontrollably. Now free of her captors and rescuers, Emi hissed triumphantly, "Idiots! You have no idea of the power that you're facing! The only reason you're not dead is becaue I want to see you suffer!" And that's why you're destined to lose! Gregor thought defiantly, though he had yet to recover his powers of speech. You're overconfident! Desperately he went over his remaining options. I have to get her outside! But how? I can't pull off a full nelson. She'd turn my arms to jelly before I moved her so much as an inch. I can't do a shoulder charge. The chance is too high that I'll wimp out at the moment of contact. Tears of sorrow came to his eyes as he followed the logic. There's only one thing left. At that moment, Chris could be seen in the distance. "Stop! We have to recombine our halves and go back before it's too late!" Emi turned around to face Chris. Now's my chance...Forgive me, Emi. Silently sobbing while he backed up for the running start, he broke into a short sprint and leapt straight at her upper back, right leg tucked and left extended in a flying kick.
