The pain of blow was evident only from the blood and battered skin. Emi's face never twitched away from being expressionless. It was as if the pain held no importance to her, which it in fact didn't. Behind Emi the fire formed another body. A twisting female form that held its hands up like a puppet master and pulled the strings of Emi's body. Dahlia's voice erupted from this form.
"Recombine?" It rumbled at Dahlia in Chris. "HA! You are a weak insignificant part of me! One discarded only to make that woman think she had the upper hand. You mean nothing!" It laughed and pulled an arm upward. Emi ran towards Gregor and as she did a harmless pencil in her hand became the hilt for a dagger made of hellfire.

At the moment of contact, Gregor was horrified to see Emi--the real Emi--standing before him. Unfortunately, it was too late. He cringed as he helplessly watched her crash into the wall. Devastated, he broke down. "Emi...I'm so sorry!" He was about to offer her his sleeve for use as a bandage when behind her, the hellfire coalesced into a feminine form with hand raised in the manner of a puppeteer. In a rumbling voice, it spoke. "Recombine? HA! You are a weak, insignificant part of me! One discarded only to make that woman think she had the upper hand. You mean nothing!" With a malevolent laugh, it caused Emi to run toward him with a pencil poised to strike. Fear lent him strength as he watched the pencil become the hilt for a dagger, the blade of which was composed of hellfire. He regained quickness of movement, but the strength to counterattack was slower to return. He jumped backward just in time to dodge a downward stab. Almost before he was ready, she charged in for a sidelong swipe at his neck. When he ducked, the blade touched his hair, which conducted the heat straight to his follicles. His hair would probably be white in that spot for the rest of his days, if those follicles produced any more hair at all. With surprising--probably supernatural--dexterity and deadly grace, she closed in for the kill. Watching her thrust the blade directly at his chest, he let instinct take over. Jumping backward once again, he spread his arms sideways, bringing his right palm against the inside of her forearm and his left against the back of her hand. The blow knocked the blade free, sending it skidding across the floor. No longer in mortal danger, he again broke down. The sight of her bleeding so stoically caused him more pain than that blade ever could've. Overcome with sorrow, he leaned toward her, offering his shoulder in an attempt to comfort her and--heaven willing--stop the bleeding.

Eventually she managed to haul her boyfriend back to her mother. She was completely out of breath and her legs were screaming from all the running, but she made it. "Sis...sister Bikini..." she gasped, holding her knees to keep from falling over. "Please...take care of him...have to...get back..."

"Eh?" Bikini popped upright. She'd been bent over while she painted a circle of kanji on the grass. "Oh good! Well, not to worry." She gave Iris a big smile. "As soon as we bring Dahlia here I'll probably be able to fix Mr. Lucky." Bikini pointed to another ring she'd just painted. "That over there is the banishment ring. This one here is redemption. I have a feeling we might be using both of them today."
The fires of Dahlia laughed as she watched the show. Emi did not take his shoulder for comfort but instead went in for another strike. This time the fire seeped into her hands and when this happened Emi's eyes grew darker. There wasn't much of importance to Emi, but she'd seen what the fire had done to Greg's hair. When the flicker of the possibility that the fire coursing through her fingers could actually prevent her from drawing again presented itself Emi stopped before her fist made any contact with Greg's body. In fact, Emi's entire body stopped. She refused to obey Dahlia any further.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Dahlia hissed. "YOU CAN'T REFUSE ME!" Emi said nothing. She wouldn't even acknowledge Dahlia's presence.
[OOC: And this is probably the last time we'll ever see Emi do something for herself.]

When Emi had gone up in flames, Doug quickly let go of her legs. He hated fire with a passion; but then again he hated anything that could kill or hurt because he was frightened of it. All in all he was a pretty paranoid guy. He quickly hid behind some lockers in the room and waited for an idea to hit him. He needed it quick, because he had no idea how long Greg would last no matter how good his kung fu was, all she needed to do was hit him with the sword once.
He needed a way to carry her out of there and to Bikini without touching her. He knew that he couldn't knock her out as he never hurt girls. Never ever. It was then he saw the porters trolly, and the idea came to him. He creeped over to it and put on a pair of gloves to protect his hands if she set on fire again. Then he saw her stopping in the middle of the fight, and thats when he decided to try it. He began to push the trolly as fast as he could; it was pretty heavy but it was pretty speedy all the same. When he reached Emi, Greg quickly moved her into it and the two of them grabbed the handle and began to push it towards the exit.

In any case, this gave Iris even more incentive to bring her twin back. Not that she actually needed any more. She'd really hoped Phoenix could be fixed just by bringing him back to Bikini. In his condition, he might snap and try to escape again, or even attack Bikini. Maybe she should tie him to a tree until she returned... No, even if this was a dire situation, that would be cruel. Besides, she didn't have any rope.
An idea suddenly popped into Iris' head. "Sister? Would you please tell me the incantation for breaking the seal on Chris' hood? Dahlia might be more easily calmed if she were whole again..."

"I could go for some cookies." Phoenix announced and proceeded to poke a rock with a stick.
"Stop that! I need that rock where it is!" Bikini snapped and hobbled over to yank the stick away from him. Phoenix looked confused, then he gave her a big smile.
"Seven!" He told her happily. Bikini continued to give him a tart glare which eventually made him pout and sit down.
"Stay!" Bikini commanded and slapped a bit of paper onto his forehead. The kanji for paralysis was painted on it. Phoenix stiffened like a statue.

"That girl really has made a mess of things." Bikini sighed and finished painting her second circle. She nibbled on the end of the brush while she thought. Perhaps she should make a third circle for purification. She hadn't bothered to mention this option to Iris because at the time she'd been certain that it wouldn't be necessary. Dahlia would never agree to have the evil purged from her, and it was a long shot that it would even work since she would need a living body as well. The idea was that she could kill two birds with one stone. If Dahlia willingly entered Phoenix's body again she could purify both souls, extract the part that was Dahlia, and begin the second stage of healing for Mr. Lucky. There was a very slim hope of that working even if Dahlia agreed, plus it would put Phoenix in a lot of danger if she saw it as a chance to escape. There was no way he could survive another forced exit.
Bikini looked over at the boy, still paralyzed from the tag on his face. Even if he were coherent enough to ask his answer would have meant little to her. After all, he was in love with Iris, and he'd instantly agree if only to have the chance to make her happy.
Bikini looked down at the now half painted circle she'd been contemplating. Purifying Dahlia's soul would really only serve one purpose anyway. She would be able to ascend to heaven when she was exorcised, but only if she truly regretted her actions in life. After all, purification wasn't a cure all for evil deeds. "Hmmm."
"If you won't obey me I will find another host!" Dahlia roared at the unresponsive Emi. "I will make sure you DIE when I leave you!" The threat was not really received. Even having spent time in Emi's mind Dahlia had not really thought about why Emi had made such a perfect puppet. She'd only seen a weak will and had pounced on it. She'd just assumed that Emi's lack of fighting had meant that Dahlia had managed to crush her spirit with her demonic powers.
She'd also failed to realize that with only half of her soul jumping from body to body would be very difficult despite the power she possessed.

Chris spoke to Dahlia in his mind. 'Wait, so are you telling me that that other half is...?'
He heard a sigh in response. 'Yes... That half... she's my anger. My hatred... all of it. I only had a shred of it, plus my incentives, in this half. ... Please, help me do something about this!'
'I'm thinking...' and then Chris sighed. If only he had found a way to do this while she were alive; then she would have never had to die.
Never had to... wait.
'I have a plan... but it's not about this,' said Chris.
'Y-You couldn't be thinking what I think you are...' came the response.
'I am... and it'll require all of your soul to do it.'
'B-But even if that succeeded, I'd just... turn into the Dahlia all of you hate...'

Emi had begun to move with what must have been hostile intent and then stopped. He owed her his life. On the eve of victory, she had shown mercy, rebelling openly against her controller. And then there was Doug. Gregor had given up all hope of moving her outside without her willing cooperation when he intervened. His ingenuity had made the mission possible. He saved the day...I really ought to thank him. "Doug...I owe you one. Thank you. I couldn't have done it alone. It would never have occurred to me to use this. You saved the day." He cracked a wry grin. "That flying kick was my last hope, you know."

Oh, and trust me. Saving her life will not woo Emi. I don't think anything will really woo her. It's more likely one of them will make the first move and she'll just let them do it. Then they need to be prepared for an absurdly long wait. Emi's known Scott (her brother) her entire life and she just barely has any affection for him whatsoever.]
As the two rolled with Emi in the trolley the flames pursued. Dahlia's fiery form roared like a beast as she followed with them. She was still attached to that body, and while without control of Emi's body she couldn't attack with her fire, she was still bound to it and could at least give a threatening chase.
Meanwhile Bikini finished her circle.
"I hope this was a good idea." She muttered to herself.

"It's fine" said Doug magnanimously "You'd have done the same for me" They turned the corner swiftly and kept running towards the exit at the end of the Corridoor ahead of them. "And yes, I guessed it was your last idea, but the kick WAS magnificent. I wouldn't have been able to do this without you disarming her, thanks." Behind them the Ghostly Dahlia was catching up, and Doug had another thing on his mind; something had happened to Stefan in the sealed room and he was nowhere to be found. Maybe knocking him out only let whatever was talking to him IN...

I don't mean for this to sound like I'm slapping you on the knuckles with a ruler. I just want you to think about how your characters would acquire the knowledge they have in situations like this. For example, Chris may have randomly picked up a book on the supernatural and read a snipit about it and is recalling something along those lines at the moment he needs it. If that's the case then you should mention it in your post somehow so people know you aren't metagaming. He could have also, as stated above, gotten bored at the temple and read about it there, but he'd need to know kanji for that scenario to work.
Again, I've little problem with Chris knowing about this option, I'd just like to see why he knows it in the post somewhere.]
Emi really had nothing to say as she was being carted out of the burning building, nor did she show any sign of resisting being taken. The voice of Dahlia was screaming in her head like a banshee who'd caught a wayward sailor in it's trap. If she'd cared she would have likely been bothered by this.
Even when Dahlia's screams switched to sweet words Emi ignored her. After all, one needed to feel compassion or mercy in order to give second chances. Emi only had one real emotion in her. Actually, it qualified as an urge more than emotion. It was a very simple and basic basis in human biology and quite possibly the very reason for the survival of the species all these millinia past. Curiosity. She was curious about what she could not understand, she would wonder why people acted the ways that they did, and because of this she would seek answers to these questions. Art was her greatest tool to understanding. With it she could capture emotions at specific times and study them. Without it she saw no point in continuing to walk down the path of life.
If Dahlia had bothered to ask she might have known this and would have likely been able to control Emi more effectively. Perhaps even permanently.
Meanwhile Phoenix was busy watching orange frogs tango atop the heads of baby seals. Bikini glanced over at him with a bit of a tired gaze. It was just the two of them there now as she'd sent Meghan and Jade out to make sure the area stayed clear of any people who did not need to be there. This was a very simple task since most of the people on campus were watching the fire department fight the never ending fire. They really had no chance of putting the flames out so long as Dahlia continued to use her demonic powers to make them.

Stefan had wandered outside. The fire in the building was something he should have picked up on, yet he didn't. The rash the holy water had given him and swelled, and was now pulsing gently. Stefan heard someone whispering in his right ear. He turned his head. Nobody there, yet the whispering carried on. Stefan ignored it, and leant against a wall. As if by magic, the fire appeared in his eyesight. He wanted to jump up and check it, but he held back for reasons unknown to everyone - even himself.
"Syn? You can hear me Syn. Talk to me, Syn." It was now barely audible to Stefan - didn't stop whatever was causing it to shut up though. It just repeated the three sentences on a loop.

'I've read my share of books as well. I used to be a secluded person... sheltered from others... unable to make friends... so I read. I read books about everything, tools to gain more knowledge of our world and the outside, rumors and facts alike. I ran across purification once... Of course, at the time I didn't believe it... But hearing you recall the options Bikini gave you, I recalled a third option.. purification.'

"Miss, I understand how you must feel, but please, leave this to us. We're professionals."
Iris had spent the last couple minutes arguing like this with one of the firefighters barring her path to the roasting building. She told him they wouldn't be able to stop the fire at this rate, he said if that was true, it would be all the more reason for her to stay back. She responded by saying that's not what she meant, that she needed to get to the others to stop it, he stubbornly asked why that would bring an end to the fire, she said her sister had returned from hell with demonic powers and that was causing the blaze, he politely informed her that if they weren't busy trying to stop the fire, they'd call the local mental health clinic. It was at about this time that Iris realized talking wasn't going to get her through.
She gave a resigned sigh, nodded sadly, began walking back the way she came...then spun around and darted past the confused fireman's right. The brief suprise was enough to give Iris enough time to reach the dorms before the firefighter; once she had, she folded her arms over her head and crashed through a window.

Hearing a crash, Chris turned to the window, letting Emi, Doug and Greg out of his sight. "Iris!" he ran over to her. "Are you alright!?" And then Dahlia took over. "Sister, are you MAD!? You jumped right through a window!"
Chris turned to Emi and the others. "They're carrying her out of the building now... but how do we stop this fire!?"

She tried shaking her head back into working order. "I'm glad you're okay," she smiled at them. Her grin didn't last long, though; Chris had a good point. There were a lot of firefighters working outside, but if anything, the fire was getting bigger. "Um... I think it must be your other half, sister... The fire probably won't die until she wants it to, or has her power stripped..."

"Hmm..." Chris felt that Dahlia was deep in thought, mostly because he could hear her train of thought running throughout his head. Chris began thinking as well, as quickly as he could, for he was waiting for Doug and Greg to finish carrying her outside. "Bringing her outside won't do it, Chris," said Dahlia. "As long as it wants the fire to go on in the building, it will... and it could even spread outside... not only that, I'm pretty sure that if she wanted, to she could set the entire college on fire... but that would be a waste of the borrowed power..."

Bikini's eyes glanced over at the sinking sun. She would need that escaping day light soon. Not that the light was necessary to channel spiritual power. Bikini just liked being able to see while she worked. Despite the life she lived, dealing with spooks at night gave her the jibblies.
It looked like Phoenix was having a rather rough case of the jibblies himself judging by how much his eyes had dilated over the past few seconds. The fact that he could even remotely move with that tag on his head bothered her some. If he managed to break in during a fit of fear he could cause a lot of trouble and damage. Hopefully once Iris returned that wouldn't be an issue. He seemed rather subdued so long as he could see her. If it was even really her he was seeing.
Another nit picking thing plucked at her brain. Why had he tried to get to Dahlia in the first place? Had she somehow summoned him? She did possess some light demonic power and there was really no telling what she'd done while she was inside of his head. Perhaps she'd only intended to make Mr. Lucky a minion of some sort. After all, how could she not know that Iris would...

))As he realized the fiery apparition was gaining on them, fear again sank its teeth into Gregor. With a conspiratorial nod, he and Doug increased the pace. Soon they reached the exit, but it proved pointless trying to outrun "her" as they were faced with a curb in front and snowbanks on either side. Ten feet past the door, they came to a stop. Whatever we do, she'll catch up. Might as well turn around and face her. Mustering his courage, he addressed the apparition. "Alright...I'm tired of running. Let me ask you a question. Back there, you said you wanted revenge. Revenge for what? What did we ever do to you?"

When the trolley stopped Emi sat up and got out. The pain in her hands had subsided and she would have to go buy more sketchpads from the college store. Without even a glance to anyone around her Emi walked away.

Greg then began to shout to who Doug suspected to be Dahlia, asking what she had against them.
"You didn't do anything Greg, it's to do with me." he said softly. "I used to go out with her... until I worked out she was stealing the poison from the lab." He had hoped that he wouldn't had to tell anyone that, but by that point there he wasn't going to lose anything.
(Doug says this before Dahlia did, but too quietly for her to hear)

Dahlia's laughter erupted in such a way at the ground nearly shook with its force.
"That may have been true when I still lived." Dahlia hissed and crackled. "But in death I've learned how to shed such things. That weakness has caused me no end of trouble, but without it now I will succeed." Dahlia started to move. It was like Emi was pulling her by an invisible string. "My plan is already part way through."
Phoenix's finger twitched and he let out a slight whimper. Bikini stood and wobbled over with another paralyzation tag in her hands. However she never got the chance to use it. Phoenix leaped at her like a wolf tackling a rabbit. Bikini was pretty easily overpowered and after some time of his hand gripping her throat her body went limp. Phoenix stood and stared at her in horror. It was hard to tell if he'd realized what had just happened, but as he turned to run Bikini's hand quickly grabbed the cuff of his pants and yanked. Phoenix fell flat on his face. In another display of surprising speed Bikini got up and had the tag pressed against his forehead before he had a chance to really get up.
"This isn't going to hold him." Bikini muttered and rubbed her bruised neck. "I'm going to have to do something a little more drastic..." She hobbled over to her bag and fetched another tag. This one had the word on this one was obscured by her hand until she pressed it against his forehead. 春眠。Deep sleep.
There was a reason she hadn't used this one first. This was a mind talisman, and in his warped state the effects could be dangerous. Still, she couldn't have him breaking out into murderous rampages either. She would just have to trust that the nickname she'd given him when they'd met was right on the money.

She turned her attention to the burning spirit before them. It was terribly painful seeing her own sister in this horrible, corrupted form... "Dahlia..." she began cautiously. "If you've truly cast your emotions away, then what is the point of all this? What will this prove? Please, sister, don't do this anymore..."

"Emi, as much as I'd like to get you medical attention and anything else you may want, I'm afraid I must ask you to stay here for the time being. You seem to have broken her hold on you and for that I'd like to congratulate you--both now and later--but it appears Dahlia is still bound to you. We can't afford to run the risk of having her frighten people to death and by that means gain strength." Feeling a lump in his right pants pocket, he reached into it and was pleasantly surprised to be reminded that he had a small packet of tissue. "In the meantime, here. Feel free to use this to stop the bleeding if you think it'll help. You'll be doing us all a big favor if you stay here. Okay?"

Suzumi held her head at the whole exchange, she felt...tired...as if she was sapped of all her energy.
"Tee hee..."
Suzumi blinked, but she was no longer with the others. She was in the middle of...nothing? She was surrounded by darkness...it felt...strange.
"Tee hee...this...has been set in motion, for a while, hm? Ever since that day you HAD to interfere, I've been dreaming of torturing you..."
"So." Suzumi nearly laughed.
"You still feel resentment...that he and I clicked on to what you were really like. Dahlia...you can't let go of your past, can you?"
"Nor can you change it. If it hadn't have been for YOU, this whole affair with that idiot geek, my weak sister, that pathetic crybaby and that stupid girl...along with the rest...may never had happened."
"So I'm the reason? Then leave them alone! I'm the one who caused it all, you say..."
"Passing up the oppitunity to get my revenge on them all is something you must think I'd do. I'm not an idiot. I love revenge. It entices me..."
"I can't listen to any of this."
"Oh, it'll get worse...MUCH worse!"
Her eyelids blinked of her own accord and a figure was lying, face down. Now she could see Dahlia, complete with her parasol.
"Tee hee..."
Suzumi was horrified by the figure. Her hand was clapped to her mouth and her eyes were swimming for tears.
"You...you wouldn't dare..."
The figure rolled and Suzumi could now see his face...covered in blood.
"NO! NOOOOOO!" Suzumi collapsed, clutching her head. She was also doing this outside of her mind.
"It's all your fault. One person can make a difference, after all. If you hadn't agreed to help him, he may never had died..." Dahlia was smiling evilly.
"Please...make...it...stop...KILL ME! NOTHING IS WORSE THEN THIS!!!" Suzumi screamed, outside of her mind also.
