The possessed woman pulled herself to her feet and watched the now-much-smaller girl on the ground before her cautiously. After taking a few seconds to determine the little medium was in fact not moving, she held the back of her hand close to Maya's nose, then pulled it back in disgust. So she was still alive, after all. How frustrating.
Dahlia had wanted the hated Mia Fey to beg for mercy, or at least watch as her little sister died. That was, of course, impossible now. For a moment, she considered trying to wake the sleeping girl...and quickly dismissed that idea with a shake of the head. She'd come too close to losing her opportunity already. There was no reason to take further risks. Mia Fey knew who was responsible for her sister's death, and that she was powerless to stop it. That was what was important. Better to just finish everything now.
She retrieved a candle from the altar sitting before the folding screen and searched for her gun. It didn't take long to find it; not only because she now had a light, but because it was next to the altar. Dahlia picked it up and turned to her unconscious target, when she heard a soft scuffling behind her. She threw a glance over her shoulder, back at Maya Fey, then decided the girl wasn't going anywhere and the noise could cause her more problems if not investigated now. She walked behind the folding screen and, with the help of the dim light from her candle, found the box. Pistol cocked, she set her foot against the top of the box, breathed in and out deeply, and kicked the lid off. Her eyes nearly popped out at the sight inside.
"What are YOU doing in there?!"
