Nick shook his head for Mia.
"I'm going to keep it anyway. Does Miles have any baggies?"
"Yeah, he keeps them in his tea cabinet." Nick told her. "Sorry, Shelbie. I'm not that great with names."
"Wow, you'd think a guy as OCD as Miles would keep his tea bags in order." Mia observed when she opened it.
"He does." Nick wandered over, but the cord kept him from getting past Gregory's desk. "It looks like some are missing too."
"Maybe he's out getting more." Mia replied.
"Yeah, maybe." Nick turned around. "Hey, listen, miss. If Miles gives you a call will you let me know? My number is 585-7892."

Miles awoke once more. His head was a bit clearer now than it had been the first few times, but his body was stiff and numb.
"Ergh." He attempted to pull at his bindings, but his muscles didn't want to respond.
"You should be careful, dear." The cafe waitress warned him gently. "That medicine I gave you can cause some damage to your nerves if you struggle too hard."
"Who are you?" Miles grumbled.
"Ms. Miles Edgeworth, silly." He pressed down on his nose with her finger. "Now you stay right there. I've got to fetch my contact lens." She said just before she walked out.

Nick and Mia had split up. Mia decided to search different tea shops while Nick wandered the park. About half way through in the biting cold he was seriously starting to consider letting Miles just stay lost.

"Where is it?!" She screamed. "It HAS to be here!"

Shelbie stood in front of the cafe, she titled her head slightly narrowing her eyes. 'I don't see him.' she thought, disapponted. Shelbie crossed her arms as she looked over to the park. She then slowly walked over to the park and looked around, passing a couple of joggers and lovers. "Hm." She said in thought.

Nick walked right past Shelbie without even noticing her, and with the hood of his hoodies up over his hair it was no wonder that she didn't notice him pass her either. He walked into the cafe, pulled the hood down, and sat at a random table.

"AUGH!" The waitress screamed and knocked Miles' desk over. "Fine. If I can't find it then I guess I'll just have to burn the place down!"

Shelbie looked up at the trees and scowled. "This better not be a joke." She hissed out silently, shaking her head. "Maybe I should just go to the office. He could be back there..." Shelbie said, walking a little faster. 'Maybe we all missed each other...?'

The waitress dropped the lit match onto the shredded pile of papers she'd made on his desk and walked out.

Phoenix glanced out the window to notice a familiar face.
"Hey, isn't that?" He opened the door and walked out. "Shelbie, right?" He ran to catch up with her. "Out on the hunt too, huh?"

Miles could smell smoke.
"Oh, honey. I'm afraid you wont be able to go to the office for a while." The waitress replied as she walked in. "There was a little mishap." Miles wanted to ask what kind, but he couldn't move his tongue to make any articulate speech. Luckily she told him anyway. "A little fiery mishap. You really should watch when you leave those candles burning." Miles couldn't do much more than give her a cold glare.

"Oh dear." The waitress walked into the bedroom. "I seem to be out of bread. I'll be back from the store." She blew him and kiss and waved as she left. Once Miles heard the door closed he rolled his head towards the window by the bed. After a little effort he managed to shift his feet up against it and he started to kick. Each kick sent a dull pain up his legs, but he kept on.

Phoenix shrugged.

Miles gritted his teeth and finally his feet went through the glass. He managed to get a shard between his heels and then shifted it up between his toes and pulled his legs back until the glass could reach his fingers. Then once he had the glass in his hands he started to cut at his bonds.

"Did you hear something?" Phoenix blinked and looked around.

Miles managed to get his binds severed enough to pull one hand free. Then he used it to dial his phone.

The pumping porn music of Phoenix's cell clipped through the air.
"I've got to change that..." He muttered and checked the name that showed up.
"Hey, Miles just sent me a text message." Nick creased his brow. "Huh, he must have just sat on it or something. It's gibberish." Nick sent one back declaring this.
When Miles heard the music rush into his room he made his way to the window. He could see Phoenix and Shelbie standing just below him. His eyes narrowed and he winged the cell out the hole in the window.
"Ow!" Nick yelped when the cell hit him in the head. "Son of a...wait." He looked up to the windows.

When Phoenix didn't look his way he threw his wallet out the window next. This landed on the ground at Nick's feet.
"What? Is he in a tree?" Nick was still rubbing where the cell had hit his head. Then he noticed the unmistakable pink ramming his fists against a broken glass pane above them. "Hey, there he is." It took a second too long to realize something was wrong, and by the time he broke into a run towards the building Miles was face to face with a very angry waitress.
"I told you to stay still, honey." Her teeth ground and her eye twitched. "You're going to get yourself hurt." Miles looked at her with narrowed eyes.

When Nick managed to bang through the door of the right room (making quite a few people very angry in the process and causing him to owe for a lot of doors) the scene wasn't a pretty one. Miles was looming over a young woman with blood rushing from her nose and mouth.

Mia strode back in the direction of Miles' office, irked at her lack of success and hoping Phoenix and Shelbie had better luck. She stopped and stared at the sight of firemen pumping water to put out a fire that was raging in what was Miles' office.

"MILES!" Phoenix did the very first thing his instincts told him to do. He rushed over and grabbed his friends arm before he could hit the girl again.
"OH THANK YOU!" The girl wept and quiveringly ran to hide behind Shelbie. "KEEP THAT MONSTER AWAY FROM ME!"
"WHAT?!" Miles snapped. His tongue had loosened enough for him to at least pronounce that clearly.
"MILES WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU!" Nick snapped. "And why are you tied to a bed?"
"I had to. I had to, I'm so sorry. I was just afraid he was going to hit me again. I couldn't take it!" The girl cried.
"YOU LYING BITCH!" Miles roared. When his wild eyes met that of a very angry Nick he started to explain. "Phoenix, this woman kidnapped me! She's been keeping me drugged in her house!"
Phoenix wasn't sure who to believe. The battered crying woman or the scarily enraged Miles.

Mia looked up and did a double take as she saw a flash of pink in the upper window, It' can't be...can it? God Damn it, can this get any worse? Sighing Mia took off running for the entrance of the office building.

The girl was really crying, and Miles just seemed so out of himself that Nick couldn't help but be swayed away from his friend.
"Miles, just calm down. Let's get you untied and we'll go to the police, okay?" Nick reached over to undo the tight knots binding Miles to the bed.
"Y-you don't believe me!" Miles was surprised. His breathing got rapid and jagged. He couldn't believe his one friend in the world was taking the side of that harlot. Was he in on this too? Did he know she was going to kidnap him? Was that why he got the call and escorted Mia from the cafe? To leave him alone and give that woman a chance to-
His thoughts broke as he pushed Phoenix away. This act left Nick not only stunned, but just a little pissed off. The anger didn't last when he saw just how utterly frightened Miles' eyes were as they jumped from face to face around the room.
"Oh my god." Nick stumbled over the realization. "You-you've gone crazy, haven't you?" Miles' only response to that was to yank at the knotted cloth that was keeping him attached to the bed.

Mia ran into the room, out of breath, and was greeted with the rather strange scene laid out before her: Miles tied to a bed with Phoenix standing close to him and a woman hiding behind Shelbie. Her first reaction was to voice her thoughts, "What is going on here?!"

"MIA!" Both Miles and Nick yelled with the same amount of urgency.
"Get away from Phoenix! He's working with that harlot!" Miles yelled and continued to pull until his hand was turning purple from lack of circulation.
"Miles has lost his mind." Nick was genuinely hurt by his friend's accusations and you could see it in his face. Meanwhile the waitress was still crying and tightly hugging Shelbie for support.
The bonds didn't give way, but the brass bar he was tied to eventually did. Miles was flung back into the wall and sharp prickling pains rushed over his skin and sank into his bones.
"AUGH!" He yelled.
"Miles!" Nick moved to help him, but a jagged brass bar pointed at his neck prevented him from going to far.
