Nick, at a total loss as to what to do, obeyed Mia's orders and ushered the girls out quickly.

Miles closed his eyes and swallowed. He let his head lean back against the wall and took a somewhat relieved breath.
"Y-you believe me, don't you, Mia?" This was the first (and probably last) time he'd referred to her as anything but Ms. Fey. "That girl kidnapped me." His tone was weak and desperate. It was obvious he was already pushing himself too hard.

Mia knelt down and started to undo the bond, as she spoke in soothing tones to miles, 'Yes, I believe you...but let's get you out of here before anything else, okay?"

Miles nodded and that last bit of movement was enough to overwhelm his body completely and he passed out. Unluckily his body was, at the moment, directly over Mia's and he deceptively weighed more than he looked.

Mia let out a surprised noise and Miles' weight fell on her. She leaned his unconscious form up against the wall (with some difficulty) as she undid the last knot in the bond. Sighing, she looked at Miles' form up against the wall, "How am I going to get you out of here? You're too heavy for me to try and move you by myself..."

The answer to that was Phoenix wandering back in.
"The girls are outside. We've called the police. Is Miles okay?" He asked meekly.

He did so and they went out. The police were already there for the fire, so getting a couple over to handle Miles and the mess he's made for himself. It was just convenient for them that it was also his office that was on fire. Nick painstakingly informed the officers questioning him about what happened to the best of his knowledge, but when the ambulance arrived was when he ignored the shouts and protests around him to follow Miles' body as he rolled into the back.

Mia sighed as she watched him, before turning back to the police in hopes of getting a clearer understanding of what happened. Sighting the familiar face of a scruffy detective, Mia walked over adn tapped his shoulder. "Hello, Detective Gumshoe. It's been a while."

Gumshoe grinned at her, "Heya, Miss Fey. I didn't know you were involved in this mess, pal."

"Yes, I am. do you happen to have a clear idea of what happened here?"

"Well, I guess I can, seeing that you're involved in it anyways. At this point we know it was arson, as somebody set a pile of shredded papers on Mr. Edgeworth's desk. The only two people in the building that could have set it on fire are Mr. Edgeworth or the woman with him."

"About her, did she give a name?"

"Well, it was kinda odd pal, she kept calling herself "Mrs. Miles Edgeworth."

"You're kidding."

"Nope, I'm hoping to get that bit cleared up with Mr. Edgeworth later."

mia sighed, "I have a feeling this is only going to get more complicated..."

Nick was busy writing down all of Miles' allergies that he could remember off the top of his head. He was doing his best to avoid having to call Mr. Edgeworth. Having to explain to him that his son was a doped up loonytoon wasn't something he was really up for. The doctors had said he was full of all sorts of exotic illegal intoxicants, and the only part of that sentence that even remotely made sense to Nick was the word exotic. If he was going to go on some bender it would be with the most obscure drugs he could find. Still, Phoenix just couldn't accept that this was on purpose. Miles wasn't the kind of person to do drugs. He just wasn't.

Gumshoe strode in and walked over to talk with the receptionist, completely ignoring Phoenix. "Hey, miss, I'm here to see Mr. Edgeworth regarding a case. Can I see him?"

"I believe so, sir, he's down the hall to the right..."

"Thanks!"

Gumshoe tore off down in that direction as Mia came into the lobby area. Chuckling, Mia noticed Phoenix and walked over, "I take it Gumshoe found Miles?"

Nick pulled the pen top he'd been chewing out of his mouth so he could talk.
"Looks like it. They didn't even tell me he was awake yet." He looked back down at the papers in his lap and continued to fill them out with whatever information he had, which was surprisingly a considerable amount.
Nick had sort of managed put himself into a emotional numbness so that he could sort out all the thoughts in his head, but having to talk to Mia was making his stomach knot up again.
"Did you find out what happened?" He wanted to sound all nonchalant when he asked that, but his voice cracked on that last syllable.

Everything to Shelbie happened in a blur... The woman clinging onto her, Mr. Edgeworth acting wierd. 'Can... What's Happening?' She asked herself, she can tell the others also had the question in mind. Even though she barely knew Edgworth she came to the hospital. She strolled down until she came to the a lobby to see Phoenix and Mia.

Mia smiled and sat down next to Phoenix. "Not much, really. The fire was deliberate arson and the police think only Miles or that other woman could have started it."

"Why would he set his own office on fire?" Nick set the pen down on the clipboard when he asked that and looked up at Mia in confusion. Then his eyes glanced over to Shelbie. "Hey. The police are talking to Miles right now. Um...if you're wanting to quit or something I can take the papers for him. He'll probably understand." Under normal circumstances Nick would have been more sure of that last statement.

Name: Detective Harley Draco
Job: Criminal Investigator
Appearance: Aproximately 6' 3", Draco is a tall man with pale skin, raven hair with red highlights around his bangs, and cool grey eyes. Usually dresses in black khakis with a dark blue dress shirt and a black tie, along with a black overcoat. On his right shoulder, there is a scar from where Dahlia had stabbed him.
Personality: A quiet man use to listening rather than talking. He doesn't like small talk, and interupts someone if they get off the subject. He is quick to apologize, however, if he is in the wrong.
History: Growing up on the wrong side of the tracks, Draco took an interest in enforcments at the age of 12, and wanted to become a police officer when he grew up. Upon entering college, he became intimate with a detective named Valerie Hawthorne. As their relationship grew, Draco found out about an incident at Dusky Bridge, located up in the mountains near Hazakura Temple. Valerie's younger step-sister Dahlia Hawthorne was kidnapped and murdered by Terry Fawls. She had just made detective and was sent to capture Fawls. Her testimony was the key to convicted Fawls, send him on Death Row. When Draco confronted Valerie about what had happen, she fell silent. It wasn't until Fawls had escaped that she called Draco and told him the truth. She said whe would meet with Terry, and tell him the truth. Draco had a bad feeling about it and imediately rush out to intercept Valerie. There he saw for the first time, Dahlia Hawthorne, the suppossed victim of the murder. Seeing she brandished a knife and was ready to kill Valerie, Draco intercepted, taking a deep wound in the shoulder. Dahlia did not kill Valerie, but she manage to escape, and has yet been seen since. Upon graduating, he imediately joined the force, and grew to the rank of CI.
Other: He and Valerie have been seeing each other for years now, and so he intends to propose to her in the near future.

A dark blue car pulled up near the hospital, and CI Detective Harley Draco stepped out. He was on his cell phone at the moment, talking with Valerie, who was off duty today. "Yeah, don't worry. I won't forget, Val. Just be sure to be ready by 9." He glanced at his watch. "I better go, I'm about to start an investigation..." he smiled. "Love you, too." He hung up and stared up at he clinic.

"An arson, huh?" He commented, remembering the report given to him. Detective Gumshoe should already be here, so he could get a better briefing from him...then again. Probably better if I ask myself. He entered the lobby, heading up to the reception's desk. He flashed his badge. "Detective Draco, I need to have a word with Edgeworth."

The nurse pointed him down the hall.
"Room 15." She said as politely as her tired nerves would allow.

Nick watched the man walk past them and almost sighed.

Meanwhile Miles was just starting to come out of his haze and when he opened his bloodshot eyes and his vision cleared the first face he saw was a very dejected Detective Gumshoe.
"Why'd you do it, pal?!" He asked much too loudly for Miles' throbbing head.
"Why did I do what?" Miles bit out each word and pressed his palm against his temple.
"Why'd you set your dad's place on fire?!" Gumshoe clarified.
"What?!" Miles jumped in surprise and all the blood rushed from his head. He closed his eyes and leaned back.

"Thanks." Draco took a quick glance over at the spikey hair young man, more than likely Edgeworth's friend. Better question him when I get the chance.

He came into Edgeworth's room as Gumshoe was yelling "Why'd you set your dad's place on fire?!" He watched Edgworth's reaction. It could be an act, but it was pretty damn good if it was. "Detective Gumshoe, settle down. You don't need to shout."

"Hey, pal." Gumshoe gave Draco a lopsided smile. "Guess you got the case, huh?"
Miles muttered something to himself and readjusted himself so he could sit up comfortably. He'd been doing his job long enough to know that the questions were coming.
"Could I get some tea?" He requested.

"Of course," Draco replied to Edgeworth's request. "Detective, could you ask a nurse for a tray?"

He then looked back at Miles Edgeworth who seemed worst for wares. "Now, Mr. Edgeworth, while we wait for the tea, perhaps I should fill you in on the situation. According to my report, your father's office has caught fire. From what we've gathered, the fire was arsen, intentional so to speak. If you can, tell me what had happen before the fire. Can you do that?"

Gumshoe nodded and left.

"I can tell you exactly what happened." Miles grunted. This wasn't entirely true. His memory of the events were fuzzy at best, but he needed to sound confident if he was going to be making accusations. "I was on my way back to the office when this woman from the cafe drugged me and dragged me to her house. I spent the remaining hours tied to her bed and heavily sedated. I clearly remember her telling me there was a mishap in my office involving fire. I know she was the one that did it and I want her arrested."

"We'll do all we can, sir," Draco confirmed. He'll need to get a warrant out to search the woman's place for this drug, if Edgeworth was telling the truth. "That's all I need to know at the moment, Mr. Edgeworth. Now please, get some rest, and Gumshoe'll be back with your tea." Upon exiting the room, he came across Gumshoe with the tray. "The woman, the one who was with Edgeworth. Do you have her in custody? I need to speak with her for a moment."

"Abuse." Gumshoe looked very dejected as he said that. "She says Mr. Edgeworth's kid got all doped up and hit her. Looks like he really went to town too." He looked sadly towards Miles' room. "I'd hate to be the poor sap to have to tell Mr. Edgeworth about it." Gumshoe was of course referring to Gregory Edgeworth, Miles' father.

Gregory was pretty well liked amongst the police force despite being a defense attorney. This might have had something to do with the appreciation parties he liked to throw for them when he managed to win a big case, or to show there were no hard feelings when he occasionally lost.

"Well she keeps calling herself Mrs. Miles Edgeworth, pal." Gumshoe replied. "She doesn't have a record so we can't work up her prints either. The wedding papers say her name is Melissa Parks, though." Gumshoe sounded pretty proud of being able to tell the detective that and the big smile on his face only highlighted it. "Um, I don't really know much more than that, pal."

Wedding papers, huh? Draco filed this infimation in his notebook. "Thank you, Detective. You've done an excellent job. Now please take Mr. Edgeworth his tea and report to me anything he tells you. I'll have a talk with Mrs. Edgeworth." With that he went on to find out where she is staying in the hospital. "I'm sorry, to trouble you," he said to the nurse he talked to before. "I'd like to speak with Mrs. Melissa Edgeworth. Could you tell me which room she's in?"

Should have known. Maybe her 'injuries' are not so severe. "Thanks anyway." Well, so much for that. He thought, then his eyes went back over to the young man with spikey hair. Since he's here, I better asked him some questions. He walked over to where he sat and spoke up.

"Excuse me, I'm Detective Harley Draco. I just need to ask you a few questions, Mr...."
