"Ami Fey?" BM pondered this, trying to think of if he'd heard that before. Nothing leaped to mind, so he pushed the thought away.

"Holding..." Again, BM strained his memory. 'Mental image... okay. We got the face, yeah... the necklace... yeah... Hmmm...' "I... don't think so... I mean, it was kind of dark, but, I didn't see anything in it's hand." He turned to Maya and asked, half not wanting to know, "What's supposed to be in her hand?"

"A sword-like thing," Sandra replied. "A schintismo, I think it's called."
"How do you know so much?" Pearl asked again.
"That means...The man...He probably has that sword!" Sandra said.

"Woah woah wait. So, a woman channeling a murderer magician who was hunting for a Magatama turned into a statue of Ami Fey and made off with a sword?" BM frowned at what was going on. "...That sucks." He decided to wallow in the hamburger. Slowly, he took a small bite.

"Um...No," Sandra said. "The woman who channeled the spirit who was looking for the magatama was Claire. The murderous person who turned into the statue was also looking for it. That person...was a man...But definitely wasn't channeled by anyone." This case doesn't even make sense to me. "People don't just turn into statues. The man had to be staging it...Somehow."
"Claire? What does she have to do with any of this?" Maya asked.
"She was channeling...Someone, and wound up in the same house we were in. She was looking for the magatama in BM's pocket," Sandra said.
"Magatama? May I see it?" Maya asked.

BM stared at Sandra as she explained the contradiction. "Oh." He cocked his head sideways. "...Wait. Don't you know Claire from somewhere? Hm..."

He reached into his pocket and pulled out the Magatama, quickly wiping it on his shirt first. "It's... nothing special, really. Here." He handed it to Maya, a little sheepishly.

Pearl grabbed the magatama right out of Maya's hands.
"P-Pearly...?"
"No. It can't be!" Pearl screamed.
"What's wrong, Pearly?"
"I'm the one who put my spiritual power in this Magatama," Pearl explained. "Which means...Where's Mister Nick?!" she asked frantically.
"Mister Nick...You mean Phoenix Wright, don't you?" Sandra asked. I guess it's only fair that I tell them.
"What's with that sad look?" Maya asked.
"Pearl...Mystic Pearl, and Master Mystic Maya...Phoenix Wright is...No longer...around. He's..." Sandra had a lot more trouble saying it than she thought she would. It took her a few more times of her mouth opening and closing before she could say it. Maya and Pearly just listened in stunned silence. "Dead," Sandra finally managed to get out.
"Whaaaaaaaat?! When?!" Maya asked.
"Let's see...We don't know," Sandra answered.
"Mister Nick. MIISSTTER NIIIICK!!!" Pearl cried.

BM gulped. 'Oh no. Here it comes...' He winced, as Pearl wailed. "I... Uhh... I'm sorry guys. We're trying to find who did it, but..." Giving up, he frowned and sighed. 'Eurgh. I need sympathy lessons...'

Pearl was still wailing, and Maya couldn't hold back the tears that sprung from her eyes.
"I'm sorry..." Sandra said. "We caught the one who killed him..."
"Y-you did?" Pearl asked between sobs.
"Yes," Sandra answered.
"Oh, thank goodness," Maya said weakly. Then, she turned to Mira. "I'm not sure...I don't want to..."
"I...understand," Sandra said. "These guys loved the vi-Mr. Wright, as if he was family. They don't want to contact him yet. I wouldn't either...If I were them."

BM just nodded at Maya and Pearl. "Yeah..." 'This must be so hard... Ugh, poor girls...' He tried to think of someting to do to make it up to them. He failed.

"Well... maybe we should call Dan or something?" said BM, grasping for straws. "Claire probably knew something, right?"

"Well, she is the one who channeled him, but, according to her, she lost her power..." Sandra answered. "But, it's worth a shot. ...I think we should leave for a little bit. Mystic Pearl, Master Mystic Maya...They both need time to grieve."
Maya looked over at Sandra, tears still streaming down her cheeks. "What about you, Sandra?" she asked. "You act like you don't care."
Sandra stared into Maya's eyes. There was a silence that was only broken by Pearl's loud sobs.
"He was a friend of yours, too. How could you hold back the tears?" Maya asked.
"I have a case to solve," Sandra said bluntly. "Come on, BM, Mira. We should leave." Sandra walked out the door.

"Very well." Mira followed Sandra out. He continued onward in the way they came from - to the car. He then went into the car, and if he moved too fast, we waited for everyone else to make it back to the car.

Sandra was already in the car.
"If you want to call Claire and see if she knows anything, you can," Sandra said. It was hard for her to think clearly. Seeing Maya and Pearl both cry so hard at something she didn't even though she wanted to wore her down.

"Yeah, we--" BM stared quietly, before Maya cut in. He gulped, and a particularly naughty part of him was yelling 'Fight, fight!' in the back of his head. He remained silent though.

The resolution was, to BM, 'Well... anti-climactic, thank Goodness. That was blunt like a spoon though...' He nodded to Sandra as he walked out the doors, mumbling a sheepish goodbye to Maya and Pearl. Once he'd exited the door, he realized something else, and became even more depressed. '...! My burger...' His stomach grumbled sympathetically.

"Well, I was thinking more along the lines of just calling her back," BM mumbled to Sandra, "But if we need a full investigation..." He sighed. 'Guess I should've mentioned that earlier...'

Sandra found it harder to talk than it was before.
"Yeah. I guess we could call-" she started to say, but was interrupted by Mira's phone ringing.

"I think I left my map in the car, and now I'm lost. Could you give me directions?" Dan asked.
"Um...NO!"
"Relax, I was teasing. Look at your rear-view mirror. That car is me. So, I got some food on the go. Want any?"
"That's nice, but could you cut to the chase and tell me what's happening?" Sandra asked.
"Well, you see...That's where we run into a lot of trouble..."
"What do you mean?"
"The police called me. They need you to take another case. From the sound of it, it's very important," Dan replied.
"Tell them I can't. I'm working on this case. There are still some holes to tie up. A potentially dangerous man-"
"I...kind of already told them you'd take the case."
"WHAT?!"
"Mira, could you pull over so we could talk about this in person? It just doesn't feel right talking about this over the phone."

"Understood." Mira pulled over. He then hung up, seeing as Dan was behind them. Then he waited for Dan to come talk to Sandra about her new case.

Sandra got out of the car to talk to Dan.
"I...uh...I'm sorry, but...you know, with the shortage of great detectives and all..." Dan began.
"You don't need to defend yourself, Dan," Martha interrupted. "Just tell me about the new case."
"R-right...Look, um...All I know about it is the fact that it was a murder. And that... the one who died...This is hard..."
"Was very close to me, I'd imagine," Sandra cut in. "A friend of mine?"
"No. It's...Your sister."
There was a long moment of silence. Not even Sandra could hide the shock of what she just heard. She grew noticeably paler, even through the darkness of the night.

BM stayed rather silent in the back seat. He was still a little shocked over Maya and Pearl's outburst. 'Another case?' he thought, sticking his tongue in his cheek. 'I barely understand this one!' Hearing Dan was in the car behind them, he turned around. The car he was in was just already pulling over. Stretching, he exited the Camry to meet Dan.

'Detective shortage?' thought BM, confused and more than a little scared. The part about the murder didn't help his nerves. Nor the murderer being close to Sandra. 'I should've went for cooking...' he decided.

'...Sister?'

"The current case was just to help support the prosecution of the defendant for this case." Mira commented, implying that they could forget about the ongoing case. "I think that there's already enough to try him for the murder of Phoenix Wright, which should be enough." But of course, I may want to oversee that case.

BM was a little surprised when Mira started talking business. "Uhh... Yeah... I think our new case needs more... attention." 'Well, this is awkward.' Coughing into a fist momentarily, BM turned to Sandra, who still seemed rather shocked. He decided to brake his brief moment of silence. "Sandra... what do you think we should do?"

"I know she was close to you," Dan said. "If you don't want to take the case..."
"I'm taking it," Sandra said with more determination in her voice than anyone has ever heard. "Where was she killed?"
"Her house, but..."
Sandra didn't let him finish as she practically jumped back into the car. Mira, her house is at 102 Pine Street. Do you know the way from here?

Sandra's raw determination made BM shudder a bit. He leapt out of the way when she turned to the car, just catching himself before falling flat on his back. 'Nope? What was the question?' Trying to avoid a Hitchhiker's paradox, he pushed the thought from his mind. 'City? Oh. The murder scene.' He walked behind Mira to catch a glance at the street map. "Hmm..."

I'll just tell you the directions. It's a long drive, Sandra thought. You have to drive straight down this road for about an hour yet. I would show you on the map, but...Oh, you know why.

Mira nodded. He then handed the map to BM and started up the car. He then put his foot on the gas pedal and started driving. "So what are we going to do to pass the time for this trip?" Mira asked the passengers.

BM took the map and began examining it. That is, until the car started, which is when he flung the door open, hopped in and slammed it shut. The map was crumpled in the process. "Uhh... We could... Maybe I Spy or something?" BM sighed inwardly at his poor answer.

"I don't care what we do as long as we do something," Sandra said. Ordinarily, she wouldn't even consider playing "I spy" since she couldn't even see shapes and therefore wouldn't know if someone was guessing the answer correctly, but memories were flooding back, and she just wanted them to stop torturing her. "Any other ideas?"

"A heart?" Mira asked, confused by the question. "That's the only logical answer I can think of. I mean what else fits that criteria?" Mira asked. "If you ate your heart, you should surely die."
