He stopped laughing.

"Now, I hav a serious question for you. Why is one of my files the wrong way round?"

Zues glared at her, as if he regretted bringing her in.

"And tell me the truth Scarlet. Of who you are, and what you want. No-one else was in my room apart from you and I, and I never touched any of my past files. I want the truth."

He sighed.

"I help you, I let you live in the same house for the 'night', and I even let you sleep in the same bed! And yet, you betray me. Why?"

Surprised both at the detective's perceptiveness and her own carelessness, Scarlet opened her mouth to reply before shutong it again, her head hung in a guilty expression. "I..." Looking up into Zues' hurt eyes, she felt a sliver of real guilt before she pushed it away. Breaking the eye contact, Scarlet sighed. That glare had...hurt. And that was new. Suddenly, she found herself telling him everything in one huge blurt. "I am Scarlet, I didn't lie to you about that. I was looking through the files because I thought because you're a detective you might have stuff on the disappearances and the time stop an i've been illegally researching them ever since the dean died and...since George died." She stopped abruptly as George's face came to mind, and her eyes suddenly filled with tears. Turning to face the wall, she wiped them away angrily and crossed her legs.

Kimi knew for a fact that he'd shut his door, and maybe lock it. After she took a small nap, she grabbed her bag and walked into the kitchen. She grabbed some things to snack on later, shoving several bags of chips and cookies into her bag, then taking some cookies and munching on them. She snagged some water bottles and tossed them into her bag and then zipped it up. "There we go. I'm ready to go." Lucas, come here, It's Important!" She hoped she didn't wake Zues up, yet anyway, until she heard him yell about something. "Hm, let's see..."

Scarlet leaned into Zues' strong body and pressed her face against his chest, tears spilling from her eyes. She wasn't quite sure what the reason for her tears were - she was sad, relieved, grieving and...something. She wound her arms tightly around the detective and cried herself out before saying anything. "I thought," she said, her voice still weak from crying. "I thought you would...you wouldn't understand. You'd arrest me or..." she trailed off pathetically.

Scarlet pulled away from Zues enough so that she could look him in the face, but not enough to break the hug. "You're a good guy, Zues," she said seriously. "And I'm not talking about the fact you treat me to dinner." She smiled before becoming serious again with a sigh. "All I know so far is what I've read in your files and..." Scarlet hesitated. As much as she now trusted him, she was unsure of whether to disclose this last snippet of information.

Seeing this big, strong man tear up alarmed and concerned Scarlet, so this time it was her turn to put her arms around him. "Hey," she said uncharacteristically gently. "No crying now..." She held him tightly. "My information..." she said, trying to steer away from the painful subject causing Zues to tear up. "Well when I found George..." Scarlet stiffened as the repressed memories flooded back. "I...he was...tanned." She finished lamely. "As in," she said quickly. "More tanned than i'd seen him since the sun was last in the sky."

I still don't know what that meant. He was one of the few people with any major importance who died. He was the first victim, for goodness sake! I feel that his fear is what is doing this. But what is his fear? Is it what Lucas fears?"

Zues tried to stop crying.

"Now, let's change, and then get a bite to eat. I think that all this serious drab has made us hungry."

Seeing Zues in such an emotional state set something off in Scarlet's mind and she reached up to the back of his head and leant up, pressing her lips to his for the first kiss that she had actually meant, rather than just being a way to get him to trust her, or spark a perverted reaction. The fact that Zues' brother was the first to die struck at sympathy, the fact that he didn't know struck at her intrigue and the sheer emotion of it all had just compelled her to kiss him, though she didn't really know exactly why she acted on that impulse.

Maybe it was because Zues reminded Scarlet of George.

Zues was kissed. He was amazed at how sudden it was. But this time, it felt real. It felt... different, somehow. He kissed back. After a few seconds of the kiss, he let go.

He was blushing furiously.

He looked at his watch on the desk on impulse,a nd then remembered time had stopped.

Zues looked at Scarlet changing and started to think fo when he aw Kimi naked. He didn't know how to react, so he hid his face from her by looking for her clothes. When he found them he chucked them to her, still not lookign at her.

"I need to go make a call..."

He walked out fo the room, still in pyjamas and started to dial Victor's number into his mobile.

She stepped closer to him and wrapped her arms around him. "Sorry." She turned and walked to the door, unlocking and opening it, stepping out.

Scarlet smiled at Zues' uncharacteristic attempt to ignore her and shrugged into her clothes, smoothing out a few creases. She made the bed thoughtfully and walked out of the room and into the sitting room, where she slumpEd onto th sofa and waited for him to make his call.

Kimi blinked, then smiled as he followed her. She didn't expect that, but maybe him trying to stop her. She remained silent until they reached the warehouse. She helped him up the first two boxes, then jumped up to the top, going back down the window. nothing had been touched since last night, and it smelled of dead animal, except it was dead human. She covered her mouth and ran over towards the hideout, jumping down and scavenging through the box full of guns. "Hm, this looks nice~" She lied. She knew nothing of guns and couldn't even see.

Kimi continued until she saw the light. "Lucas, what're you- Huh?" She saw the pistop the the first thing she did was tackle the man. The shot had missed this time, and she felt lucky and she tried to hold the man down. Before Lucas could get close enough, she pressed her forearm to the man's mouth. "Lucas, do me a favor! My phone is up on the roof. Call your dad and uhh...Ask if he needs any extra guns..Erm..Or.. Uhh..Something, hurry!" She didn't want to cause Lucas any more trouble. As she heard his footsteps tatter off, she removed her arm from his mouth. "Who the hell are you, and don't bother lying.." She tried to sound professional.

Lucas aimed the gun at the man. It was heavier than expected. He tried to aim it properly.

"Kimi, leave now, before he kills you."

Jeff Thomsan, for that was the pudgy man's name, turned around and looked at the gun aimed at him.

"Little boy, put the fucking gun down or the girl gets it."

He grabbed Kimi's arm and put the gun away,. he leant behind a crate for a second to put a samurai sword out, which he put near her throat.

"And even if you do shoot, then you'll hurt her too. Little girl, tell me everything you know about anything, and I might let you and your boyfriend go."

Katty woke up in the alley she had chosen to sleep in. "Well, time for a bit of adventure," she said to herself. She searched through her backpack for her samurai swords, but only found one.

"Huh, that's funny," she said to herself, "I must have left the other one in the warehouse."

She walked to the warehouse. Her eyes widened when she saw a girl being threatened with HER samurai sword!

NOBODY threatens a girl with MY samurai sword and gets away with it! she thought.

She felt her face get hot with anger and hatred. Pulling out the samurai sword she had, she sneaked up to the guy that was threatening. She yanked the sword out of his hand. ((KATTY TO THE RESCUE!))

"I believe that would be MY samurai sword!" she said triumphantly.

She turned to the the other people in the basement, yanking the girl free and saying, "You guys get out of here, I'll take care of this creep."

She was scared, but that didn't matter now. All that mattered was the other people get out of the basement.

[ Katty, I love you, but they are underground. Zues's post last time they were in the warehouse proved that it was locked, hence the broken window on the roof. Even if you were to walk in the warehouse, you shouldn't have noticed anything but the dead body, and the door on the floor. You need to either add more detail or re-edit it, or read the posts. D: I can't take your post until it's editted. We are under the floor and Kimi and the guy are by the box of guns, next to the wall, so you couldn't even sneak behind him either. :/ ]

Suddenly, Jeff let go of Kimmi, and ran away into the shadows with the bodyguard, who was still injured.
