Amy thought about this for a second. "....Oh are they?" She decided to be cute about it and smiled back at Miles. "....Oh....I guess I'm not use to my last name holding much for me..." She replied quietly. She looked around at the people in the waiting room, everyone was there with someone...most from their family...she had never been anywhere with family till' now...She liked it. She looked back at Miles and decided to ask him something that had been on her mind. "....A-Are....you going to...take me back...." her eyes shifted to the side. "....To the Orphanage...?"

Just as she said this a doctor approached the two in the distance.

Amy looked at the Doctory and nodded when he had indicated her name. "...Yeah..." She stood up and looked at him, then hearing Miles she looked back, slightly nervous of the answer she may get once they were done at the Hospital. "Okay..." She reluctantly answered and the followed the Doctor.

The doctor took her to one of the small checkup office. "So...what seems to be the trouble, besides the obvious, hmm?"

Miles sat back in his seat, watching the door. The orphanage...What use was there for one if he was a relative?

"Ummmm" Amy hesitated at first, talking to the Doctor. "....Well, when I try to walk....this knee hurts a lot and sometimes it doesn't want to move.." She pointed to her right knee and then thought about it again. "Other then that, I guess I have a headache and all of my cuts and brusies hurt a lot..." She wasn't sure what else he wanted her to tell him...it seemed hard to keep her thoughts straight now. "...Yeah, I'd say...that's about it."

A lot of her wounds had stopped bleeding and scabbed over, though some of the cuts were fairly major.

"Hmm...were you in an accident or a fight? These cuts and bruises look pretty bad." He examined her wounds, and began bandaging her up, with some application of disinfectant that stung like abee sting in some of the more major wounds.

Amy flinched back as the doctor started to put the disinfectant on them. "...I was...." she paused. "I was in a fight..." She closed her eyes and sighed giving into the fact that no matter how much she squirmed the pain wasn't going to go away...why did she care anyways..it wasn't like this was the worst pain she'd ever had. There was a burn scar on her shoulder...now that was pain she didn't want to remember.

The doctor frowned a bit, and went back to patching her up. "Very well...Alright, the cuts should heal in a few days...change the wrapping regularly. I'll write a prescription for some ointment for the burn..."
Bandaged up perhaps a little more than was necessary, she was dismissed to the waiting room, holding the prescription slip.

Amy nodded to the Docotor and took the paper in her hand. "...Thanks..." She said solmnly and then headed into the waiting room where she automatically noticed Miles waiting. She walked up to him and shugged slightly. "He gave me this..." She looked at the paper. "It's proabably that ointment he used on me already....but for the burn....meh..." She sighed and looked at Miles. She had a very scruffy look all bandaged up like that...not at all like one from the Edgeworth bloodline.

The sight of her made Miles crack a small grin. He chuckled a bit as he took the prescription slip, giving it a read over. Yes...written as only a doctor could...He slipped it in his pocket.
"Now...that aside...let's talk about where you'll be sleeping tonight. I only have the one bed, so would you prefer to thumb wrestle over it, or is the couch more to your liking?" There was that classic Edgeworth humor with a hint of Von Karma wit- Dry, earnestly sounding, and always elegantly sarcastic.

Amy looked at Miles and laughed slightly at his comment before it really sunk into her mind. "....Wait....you mean..." She blinked a couple of times. "You mean...I can stay with you?" She seemed bewildered at this...yet didn't want to ruin Miles' good mood. "...Uh...I mean..." She looked away shyly for a second. "I'm no good at Thumb Wrestling...you'd win anyways.." She laughed slightly. "The couch is fine.." She looked down at her bandaged hands and then at Miles again with a small smile.

Amy looked at him wide eyed as they left. "Dogs....? Wow...you've got pets! That's cool, I like animals." She nodded to him. *knock knock knock...*

He stood there, in the cold, knocking on a door. Everytime his fist connected with the cold glass, a shock of cold was sent rattling down his spine. But did this man care? No. He just stood there knocking, doing his thing.
It was brisk outside. Brisker then he expected, for his attire was made strictly of thin fabrics, except the leather, of course. Yes, what suave, immaculent leather. The kind of leather that would make a man on the street yell out, against his will, "Woah, that's some cool leather!" and by the time he realized what he had said, the man would have already dissapeared. Like dust in the wind. Or maybe parrot feathers in the wind.
But did the man at the door care about the brisk weather? No, he was just that cool.
All of this was floating through the mans head. Seemingly strung together nothingness, which showed that he was a man that cared more of himself than many others. Self-centered? Entirely. Selfish? Perhaps. But that was a different matter. For now, he waited for someone to answer the darn door for he had been waiting for what seemed like minutes. Yes, prescious minutes of this mans time, wasted! "How dare the owner of this house keep him waiting!" he thought.
But wait. Why was this man at this house at this time during this kind of weather? This, the man did not know. (He was just that cool, of course) But what he did know was that he liked the word "this". What a splendid word! A man could throw together an endless mound of "this"'s togther and still sound as bold and as sharp as a pirate. For that is what he was. A pirate. A great, rum-guzzling, ship sailing, shiver-me-timbers pirate!
His name? Captain Jack Sparrow of course!
So, for several more minutes the man (or Captain Jack Sparrow) stood. Waiting.....
*Thwoomp!*
The door swung open with great force, and struck the "Captain" square in his beautiful face.
"Argh, me beautiful face!" he said, redundantly, though dramatically ironic.
Once Jack regained his composure, he peered up at the man who had struck him so violently. But to his surprise, the face was not that of a man, but of a mad-woman sent straight from Davey Jones' Locker!

He was taken aback by this woman's tone of voice. "How dare she be so agressive to me, of all people, Scruffy...er Jack Sparrow!" he thought. But she didn't threaten him. Nobody did. What threatened him was that whip in the woman's hands, and of course that atrocious night gown! "Hideous," he thought.

"Well, excuse me Miss Frawnshishka, if you would dare call me by "Scruffy" then you don't who your dealing with. I am Jack Sparrow! King, commander, ruler and future owner of the seven seas! Now I suggest you let me in for a bath and a shave and I'll be on my way. A pirate does not make too much money, you know, if he hasn't been plunderin' any treasures lately." He spoke with great confidence. Scruffy didn't take nothing from nobody.

Franziska placed her hands on her hips and stared a hole through the man, how could he come to her house at this time of the morning and just barge in asking...to use her bath! She was revolted. Aside from that she could tell he was staring at her...she only stared back into his eyes, like she was reading his mind...every thought. "...Humph, and why should I let...a...Scruffy "Pirate" like you into my house?" She put much sarcastic emphasis on the word "Pirate", like she didn't believe him.

He was surprised that Franziska had let him in. He never thought it would have worked, but he only found himself blaming his magnificent charm.
"Where? All over m'dear! I live on me ship that I docked at the port miles thataway." He pointed south. Jack, from the moment he had heard her lovely voice, was trying to pin which country her distinct accent was from. "I'll chance Germany. I'm probably right anyways" he thought yet again. Jack liked to think. All the time, day, night, morning, evening, think he did.
"So, m'lady, I've told you where I'm from, how about you? Perhaps Germany? You know, I've sailed around the world plenty and I've stopped in the country on several occasions. Who could resist, hm? The beer is marvelous. And the women, too. I can't think of a time where I didn't pass up a chance to go to Germany just to see the beautiful women that reside there. You know, Miss VanKarmin, you remind me of the most beautiful..." He grabbed her hand and softly kissed it. Jack then stood up, removed his bandana, placed it on Franziska's forehead, stormed into her house and searched out the bathroom. He couldn't wait to feel hot water again. At sea it was only cold, grimy salt water. He shivered.

Miles paused as they got back into his car. Somewhere, something was happening, and the natural balance was being toppled. He shrugged it off and started driving towards his apartment. Originally, he was going to ask her how she got so banged up to begin with...but he didn't want to spoil the sudden good mood the thought of staying with him had given her. He'd let it rest.
He was quiet the whole drive for the most part, though his expression wasn't furrowed or sour. His time away from the stigma of his past had done wonders to him in a social light. He kept a smile, even if it was a small one. Years of scowling was a habit that was hard to break.

Amy was quiet most of the way too, she couldn't think of the right things to say...it just seemed redudant to talk when you're not sure what the right thing is to mention. It was by experince that she was a naturally quiet person. She went over everything in her head again and again, playing it like a video in her mind. The Fight, Gumshoe picking her up, meeting Miles at the station, their car ride before this, the Hospital and now this....It seemed surreal. She was losing track of time, it was either very late out or very early in the morning. Either way she knew she was tired but at the same time she felt to excited to sleep. A thought came to her mind...she might not have to stay at the Orphanage ever again...she had family..someone who wanted. No one had ever wanted her, she had so many interviews with families but none of them wanted her...
She wouldn't have to go back, there was nothing there for her anymore.....excpet for her skateboard..she'd forgotten about that, though it seemed irrelivant it was one of the four belongings that she had.

They were almost there and she realized she hadn't said anything the entire way there....she wondered...could he tell she was thinking?

They arrived at a rather posh apartment building, naturally upscale. He warded his newfound sister in and up, to his apartment, where a large dog nearly toppled Miles as soon as the door was open.
"Pesu! Down, boy...Heh, I missed you two. No licking. What did we talk about? No licking...Okay, sit...siiit...good Pesu...now go lay down..."
There was something...just not right about seeing Edgeworth getting mugged by a dog.

Amy giggled as she saw the dog jump Edgeworth. "Heh...He's nice..." She looked around. "...and this place...it's amazing.." Her eyes were wide in shock. This place was amazing. "...You're apartment is really nice..." She smiled at Miles.

"I like to think so..." He picked himself up and dusted the fur from his coat. "Make yourself at home."
He didn't think much of the apartment. In most situations, he only slept there, and took care of Pesu. Other than that, he spent 80% of his day at the office, if not more. To hear somehow look on in awe of his living space, it made him himself take notice of it. It was rather nice, if not a little excessive with the use of the color maroon.

"It's a lot nicer then anything I've ever seen..." Amy replied looking at him and nodding. She felt slightly odd when he told her to make herself at home. There it was again, one of those illusive words that managed to wiggle it's way out of her life...and how has come to stay without warning. "...O-Okay..." She looked around, she wasn't sure where to begin so Amy took off her worn down, oversized running shoes. "Don't want to make the floor dirty..." She commented before she started to walk inside more.

Edgeworth slipped off his black oxfords and placed them by the door. He then began to put away what he'd brought back from the office. He wasn't in his study for more than a minute when the Fax Machine went off. He sighed a silent curse as he ripped the paper from the machine and scanned the contents. "Hmm...interesting..."
He had been asked to see through the Prosecution of a Murder Trial scheduled in the next two days. A man was stabbed to death in an alley not far from the Defense Law offices in town, and apparently robbed of his attache' case. There was a side note that an arrest had been made only a few hours ago...Larry Butz?!
Miles sat on the edge of his desk, peering at the document closely. A section was circled in pen. "Look what they found" a scribble read. Amongst items found near the body were noted with the letterhead of "Wright & Co. Law Firm"
Miles dug out his cell phone and dialed up Gumshoe...the moron usually had a habit of being in the know without being directly involved.

Amy didn't want to get in Miles' way so she aimlessly wandered around the living room area of the apartment, genting petting Pesu...but when she heard the fax machine she couldn't help her curiousity. She peered through the door slightly and watched Miles' face and then saw him on the phone. She didn't go inside, she just went back to petting Pesu and wondered if Miles noticed her peeking.

Miles spied her from the corner of his eye, but only turned so she couldn't see his lips. That is...if Gumshoe would answer his damned phone.
Larry had been arrested, suspected of Murder...Oh if only this had been the first time. Trouble just seemed to follow Larry. Heh, "If something smells...It's the Butz." He utter this a little louder than he would have preferred.

Amy had noticed that Miles turned so she couldn't seem him speaking...she wouldn't say anything about this. It wasn't even her place to be peeking at what he was trying to say. "..." She silently continued to pet Pesu and then started to look around the living room, she looked down at herself and couldn't believe how out of place she looked in a high class bulding like this...she felt like she was allowed to look into a world she was forbade from. For a bit she stared at herself in the glass of the extremly clean windows of Miles' apartment. Her eyes silently started to fill with tears.....
