Yuki watched the fight intently, eyes wide. When Starlord flew off, she rushed over to Xero. Kneeling down next to him, she smiled. "Wow....You're so much different than the last time I saw you...." She grinned. "That suit's pretty cool. Maybe now you could last more than ten seconds in a fight against me!" she teased. Then her face turned serious. "You're hurt.....What can I do?"

Xero smiled. "This suit gives me everything. At first it was hard to control, and wear for that matter, being as heavy as it was... but I've grown used to it." Once he saw Yuki turn serious and ask what she could do, he shook his head. "You don't have to do anything, Yuki. I think I probably need to return to the lab." With a bit of difficulty, he stood himself up. "If you need anything, you know where to find me." He smiled down at her. "And you can come visit anytime."

She was something of a show-off.

But then again, so was Aria.

Yuki smiled warmly. "Alright...See you later..." She wrapped her arms around him in a brief hug, then pulled away, cheeks tinted with pink. Then she turned to the two women. "Hello! I'm Yuki!" she said cheerily.

Xero hugged Yuki back, got and put his helmet back on, and then dashed off back to the lab. Once he got there, the Professor was there to greet him.

"More fighting, hm?" He had a slight grin on.

"Yeah... I had rested already, and went to check up on the chemical plant..."

"And that Starlord guy showed up, right?"

"Do you have anything better to do than watch me on that camera you have on my armor?"

"No... not really," the professor chuckled. "Because I also noticed you've got a girl there."

"I do not!" said Xero. "Yuki's my old friend, if that's who you're talking about."

"Not from what I'm seeing," the professor responded with a slight smirk. "If you aim to take care of her, you better make sure you go through with it."

Xero turned around and walked off. Once he got to his bed, he once again fell asleep. He would require another hour...

Starlord had flown out of the city and onto some relatively green hills. It would make a satisfactory place for him to rest until he could fight again. Unlike Xero, he did not have a machine that aided his resting, so he had stuck to the regular kind but aided by superpowers that would reduce the amount of time he needed. He absorbed the power of the Star Orb as he sat down, leaning against a tree and fell asleep.

A small, yet familiar voice whispered into Yuki's ear. "Ah ha ha, you like him, don't you? Well... that will make it all the more fun... when I kill him." The voice laughed ominously in her ear, obviously very amused by this fact. "And even you will be powerless to stop me..."

Yuki froze. "Mephiles...." she whispered. Her face turned white. "Ahh...." she moaned. She sunk to the floor. "Xero.....He's going to hurt him..." Yuki sprang up, and took off, flying towards Xero's lab. "Xero....I have to warn him...." She reached his lab. "Xero!" Yuki shouted, bursting into the lab. "Where is he?"

"Hmm?" The professor looked over and saw Yuki. He then chuckled. "You're that girl that Xero was with, weren't you? He's over in his sleeping area, recharging the armor. He's supposed to sleep for an hour, but if you need to wake him, you can." He pointed her in the direction of the bed Xero sat on, with his armor sitting as a whole beside the bed.

"Ehhhh...?" Xero rolled over and fell off the bed. "Ouch!" The impact jolted him awake. He looked up and saw Yuki. "Y-Yuki? What are you... oh, right, I did invite you to visit... wait, Mephiles? What about him?"

Meanwhile, Mephiles appeared where Yuki originally was at the chemical plant. "Hello, everyone..." He had a large ball of darkness over his head, held by his hand.

"Yuki..." Xero gave her a warm smile. "This is a safe place. I'm protected here. The Professor won't let anyone in unless he's seen them before - that's how you got in. Even Mephiles wouldn't be able to break in that easily..."

Mephiles looked over the scene. He saw one person he knew was a darkling, as well as two heroes that he had seen before. "Heroes... villains... what does it matter? If The Darkness does not wish to accept my help, I will simply rid the world of all of you pesky fighters and shroud it in darkness!" He launched the dark ball at the three.

Xero sat down beside her. "It's fine. Mephiles is simply toying with your mind."

Suddenly, the alarms went off. Xero jumped up, and ran to the monitors where the professor was. "What's going on!?" he said.

"There's a large amount of darkness over at the chemical plant," the professor responded. "I don't know what happened, but you've got to get over there."

"Damn it!" Xero ran and stood in front of Yuki. "Stay here and rest, okay?" He got his suit on. "I'm going to check out what just happened... the others might be in danger." He turned to the Professor. "Lock the lab down so Mephiles can't get in. I have the key to get back when needed. Keep Yuki safe."

"Are you sure about this? Your suit's only half-charged!" came the response.

"I'll be fine." The door closed, and the professor hesitantly locked the door, turning to Yuki. "Forgive me, but it was as per his request. If you want, you can watch his movements by these monitors..."

Shrinesmaid went to the dining room of the COCOA building... stuck in thought.

She had wandered off topic about her thoughts on the stolen XP-9800 test chemicals, and was now becoming concerned on whether or not she'd be useful to the team. Course, she was still a rookie here... she has barely any superhero experience under her belt, and had no recognition. Course, we made a point of that already.

What to do, though? Nothing had been going on lately... maybe the bad guys are all preparing...

She had gotten a snack while she thought about what to do about her newly chosen profession, and how to balance this with taking care of her family shrine. She really didn't have much profit from it, but she was too devoted to it to just give it up.

She finishes eating her strawberry cake and cleans the plate off before tossing it in the trash. With that, she headed out the room and thought about going outside and flying around for a little fun as she walked down the hall. Other thoughts began to enter her mind, but didn't know what to think on them just yet.

For now, maybe exploring the city would be a good idea. She headed out the COCOA building soon enough and was flying off into the air. And perhaps on the way she'll recheck that chemicals plant.

Yuki glared at the professor. "You WILL let me out...." she commanded him. She closed her eyes and reached out with her mind, grasping his shadow and twisting it. The professor's eyes glazed over as Yuki's turned purple. Wordlessly, he unlocked the door. "Thank you!" Yuki said cheerily. She took off towards the plant, flying as fast as she could. "Xero...." she muttered. "I can't leave you alone...."

The Professor came to as the door closed. "What the...? I know Xero said she was a fallen angel, but that's ridiculous..." he watched the monitors again...

Mephiles was getting another dark sphere ready, seeing as it had dissipated before it reached the three others, before a voice called out. "HEY! STOP!" Mephiles turned, saw Xero, and laughed.

"You fool. You actually came out here to try and stop me? I had figured my little message to your girl back there would have had her keep you where you were so I could come for you myself. But you coming here saves me the trouble of that!" He rose his hand into the air, and a large dark sphere appeared. "Say your prayers!" He launched it at Xero.

Ready for it, Xero charged his arm cannon, and let loose a large Particle Shot - it hit the dark sphere and launched it back at Mephiles, knocking him away. Xero charged up another shot as Mephiles shook his head and growled in anger.

Yuki came to the scene just as Mephiles was hit with the dark sphere. Yuki hovered next to Xero. "Xero.....How can I help? And don't say I can help by staying out of the way." She grimaced. "That's not gonna cut it." She readied a bolt of mind-pain, and shot it towards Mephiles.

"Yuki, let me handle it," said Xero with the most serious voice he could muster. "I'm not letting you get hurt. This is my fight, okay?"

Mephiles let out a roar as a wave erupted from his body, making the scenery around everyone blur for a few moments. "You..." Mephiles dashed at Yuki, but Xero dashed in front of her.

CLANG!

The next moment was quite a sight. Mephiles and Xero were almost face-to-face, a blade inside his armor, but not protruding from the other side of the armor (suggesting it didn't go far at all), while Xero's arm cannon was already glowing white and aimed at Mephiles' face.

It fired, sending him reeling back. As he stopped and looked down at his orange-armored rival, he scowled, "I'll... I'll be back..." His form looked very misshapen, a huge hole in the middle of where his body was supposed to be. He shrunk into a ball of darkness and flew away.

Xero looked down at the hole in his armor, and thanked the stars that it didn't go far into his skin, but the armor shut down and forced him to fall over. "Ugh!" He hit the ground face-down.

"Yeah, that would be nice," echoed Xero's voice from the ground. "I hate when this thing shuts down... YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYA--" The static electricity got the armor working, but was electrocuting him pretty badly because of the open wound. He stood up, and shook his head a bit. "Damn. That was... electrifying..." He still felt weak, so he slumped a little.

"Damn it! I'm totally useless!" Aria scowled and kicked a can into the air, absent-mindedly firing a beam of light energy at it. Frustrated at not acting quick enough - Mephiles would have been a perfect opponent - she launched herself into the air, quickly settling on the roof of the warehouse, and sulked. She was alone and unprotected...

Mostly recharged, Starlord flew into the air. A blast of light from the warehouse had fought Xero at attracted his attention. He placed the sword on the ground and picked up two different weapons from the ground next to the tree instead. He took off and flew to the warehouse, hiding in the shadows again. He floated slightly above the warehouse roof to make no noise, hoping Xero wasn't there and had seen him. The girl with the giant wings was on the warehouse. He stood still, allowing her to find him herself.

"I am Starlord, the same being that fought Xero." he spoke in little more then a whisper, not eager to have to combat Xero. "If you intend to finish what was started by Xero and I, you had better prepare yourself." he had noticed her bracing, so he flew back, drawing one of the weapons he had picked up - a bow and arrow. He fired an arrow at Aria, then switched his weapon to his scythe, the second weapon he had picked up.

At that same moment... Shrinesmaid happened to be flying by when her sixth sense suddenly sensed Starlord and she gazed over in his direction from nearby... She stopped from the path she was flying toward... having suddenly been deviated from heading to the chemical plant and seeing this newcomer... and that a fight may have started.

"Ah!?" She gasped, "Who... what a strange aura this guy radiates! It feels so quirky... uuuu... how spooky!! What a spooky feeling he gives me..."

With that, she couldn't help but fly over closer to be in earshot of Starlord, where she then asked, nervously, "...hey! Who are you...? Um, sir..."

Even though he had just announced his name, she hadn't overheard it from where she was before noticing him and flying over.

((Whoops....Took me awhile..))

Bookmaster had been wandering about COCOA headquarters for awhile. He saw some of the others leave including Shrinesmaid... Bookmaster was a bit worried about everyone and was also a bit bored and decided to try and follow her but he had not left in time to follow her.

"Great...I lost her. Well, Why not just fly around the city...?"

Bookmaster got out in front of the HQ and chanted his familiar Flying spell and took off looking for something to fight or Shrinesmaid.

(Well, here goes, then. Perhaps I can introduce one of my other villains, too...)

There was suddenly a bank robbery going on nearby where Bookmaster was! Cliche, yes, but, hey, it happens anyway... Three people exit the scene, firing guns and taking the money away into an armored truck. The oddest thing about it is that all three had their eyes closed as they were committing the crime...
