Hmm...He was acting differently before. ...Oh, well. I like him either way. Sandra followed him to the street, when she suddenly remembered how he could read her thoughts. She blushed from embarrassment. How could you forget, dum-dum? That was how he knew your phone number. And who said there was no such thing as the thought police? If I ever find out who said that, I'll... She stopped thinking about that, then, and concentrated on not falling, which happens to her quite often.

"Yeah, you got to watch the ground below you sometimes when you walk." Mira said, responding to Sandra's thoughts about not falling. Then the taxi pulled up. Mira opened the door and entered the taxi. He kept the taxi door open once he was inside. "We've got one more for this trip." Mira informed the cabby.

Sandra sighed with relief, getting inside the taxi. "Thanks," she said in an attempt to be polite. She was stupid with what to say sometimes. Umm...I'm just going to sit here and only speak when spoken to. Oooh, I hope the ride won't be completely silent.

"No problem." Mira responded, as the cabby started the taxi and made his way to their destination. "So how likely is it that we missed something?" Mira asked.

Sittng on a curb, BM felt forgotten. 'How exactly did this even happen?', he thought. 'I'm sitting on a curb alone, lost, pennyless and I'm locked out! I'm almost surprised it's not raining!' BM frowned and leaned back, nearly falling over on the sidewalk. Getting himself up, he began staring out onto the road. 'Wish I could drive,' he thought, when he noticed a taxi with a familiar face in the back seat. Getting up, he began to chase the taxi. He ran top speed all around town, chasing the taxi, flailing his arms and occasionally shouting, "Hey! Stoooop!" Sadly, he wasn't a very fast runner, and generally kept many feet behind the taxi.

"Stop!" Sandra shouted. "I think someone wants in..." Sandra could hear well enough to hear BM even though he was many feet behind the taxi. She didn't know whether that person was shouting at the taxi she was in or if he wanted someone else to stop, but she could swear she heard that voice before. Where did she hear it before? She would spend all day agonizing about it.

"Isn't that the person from before?" Mira asked, after processing what Sandra said. "The guy who was happy to work with you?"

The cabby stopped the taxi when he had the chance, allowing BM to catch up.

BM was just about ready to give up when he noticed the taxi slowing. "Yes!" he muttered, huffing and puffing near the taxi. Slowly, he approached it and began to wave to the passengers through the window. "*huff*Hi, can I *cough* come in? *wheeze*" Still he stood outside the taxi, looking around at everyone in it.

"Well, sure," Sandra said, suddenly remembering who that voice belonged to. "We're about to examine a crime scene. I know you've been looking forward to doing that sort of thing..."

(I could've sworn I posted here. Hmm...)
BM smiled in awe as he inched closer to the door. "A crime scene?! I'd *cough cough* love to! *huff*" Still smiling, BM walked around the taxi and opened the door. "So..." he said, slowly calming down. "Who *cough* died?"

"A lady by the name of Sheila Delevara. We believe her husband, soon to be ex-husband, is the real killer. However, we want to make sure we don't miss any evidence that could link him to the crime. Someone's life depends on us being able to prosecute the real killer," Sandra replied.

BM sat in the car turned towards the detective, listening intently to her every word. Wide-eyed, he stared at her, making mental notes he'd forget later. "Hmm... Delevara? Sounds extravagant and European. Are they loaded?" He tried thinking back, if he remembered a Delevara, but he couldn't recall the name. "In any case, we should really get moving to... prosecute? We get to prosecute? I'dreallylike--" BM took a deep breath. 'Don't sound so excited!' he thought, opening his mouth again.

"Uhh... sounds cool." he said casually, nodding his head slowly. "Let's get to work then."

"You excited?" Mira asked, noting BM's change of verbal cue. "This type of work is exciting to beginners like you. I know I was excited when I first investigated my first crime scene." Mira said, not paying any attention to his words.

BM frowned and began scratching the back of his head. "Uhh... yeah, I guess I'm kind of excited," he said, turning to Mira. 'Understatement of the year...' Gently, he bit his lip and listened.

"Your first crime scene?" he asked, wide-eyed and confused. "When was that? I didn't know you were an investigator."

Mira's attention returned to his words, but it was too late. Or was it? "What's that about a crime scene?" Mira asked, seemingly confused. While saying those words, he moved his head around as if he woke up from a day dream.

BM stared confused at Mira. "Uhh... I asked about your first crime scene. Err... investigation." At about that point, BM realized he didn't have much of Mira's attention. "You seem tired. Do you need a nap or something?" he asked, scooching over to leave some room between him and Mira.

"Nah, I just....." Mira had fallen asleep. Instead of rolling to the side, however, he bent forward, leaving the car's turns to move his sleeping body around. "ZZZzzzzzzZZZzzzzzz........"

Sandra couldn't believe Mira was asleep! How could he right when they were about to investigate a crime scene?! She needed a pair of eyes, and BM seemed a little too jumpy. It seemed to her that he would forget a vital clue. Besides, she didn't want him to know she could only see color and can't make out shapes. It was then she began to wonder if he was purposely avoiding talking about his first investigation. Oh, well...If it's important, he'll tell me. Besides, somebody died because of my brother, so I should focus on that.

"I know about your condition." Mira said in his sleep, referring to Sandra's desire to keep her vision problems a secret. He continued to mumble on, but it was too grumbled-up to understand. The cab finally reached the destination when the cabby woke Mira up.

"Wake up!" He yelled. "The fine is $1500!"

Mira woke up. "Blatant lie, the fare is only worth $50." Mira replied.

"Oh yeah? Well what about the past 10 times you rode with me?"

"Huh?"

"Yeah, that's right, you didn't pay the last few times."

"But I always pay!" Mira responded.

"What on earth are you talking about?" Sandra asked. She knew Mira wasn't lying, but why would the cab driver lie about something like that? I know you know. "Are you absolutely sure Mira's the one who didn't pay the last few times he took a cab?"

'Sleeping? You're SLEEPING?' BM thought, looking at Mira snoring. 'Hmm...' BM decided it couldn't hurt to try, so he laid back to sleep. He began to close his eyes... 'Oh! I'd better sleep with my eyes open.' he decided, and sat back, glancing from side to side. Unfortunately, sleeping with one's eyes open is not a skill BM possessed, and so he was forced to sit awake for the duration of the ride.

"Fee?" he mumbled, confused and tired as the ride ended. "Oh..." Looking around, he noticed Mira awake once again, 'Probably because of all the racket.' he thought. The cabbie yelling, Sandra protesting, and Mira himself having to defend his honor. Quietly, he shrugged and told Sandra, "I think I left my wallet back at the office... ...Next time, I promise!" Then, turning to the cabbie, he made himself look as strong an confident as he possibly could, lowered his voice, and asked "Excuse me sir, but I'm going to need some receipts. Especially for such a serious accusation." He did his best to hide a smile. 'That'll show 'em.'

Did BM just try to refuse to go to a crime scene? And after all that work he did to catch up to us... I guess it's understandable that he's tired. Sandra decided not to say anything while she waited for the cabbie's response.

"Receipts? I'm a freaking cabby! I know for a fact that this is the 10th time that he's skipped on payment!" The cabby yelled, ignoring Sandra.

"I did not!" Mira yelled, ignoring what Sandra thought.

"You did so!"

"Oh yeah? Then what about the receipts?" Mira asked.

"What's with you guys and receipts?" The cabby asked, annoyed. "If you don't pay up, I'm going to have to sue!" He threatened.

'Oh MAN,' BM thought, feeling like he was losing the argument, 'If there was ever a time for dine and dash, it would be this one.' Still, he stood up and protested. "Sue? We should sue you for uh... treating us... bad. Yeah!" BM paused to take a deep breath before continuing with a loud, "And we're going to need some proof before we shell out 1500 bucks, buddy. I mean, call your boss or something!" BM almost stopped with that line of questioning, but he realized he could be on to something. "I mean, isn't there someone who keeps track of this? Or like... a computer where you can pull up records? ...Right?"

"My ticker for the week." He told BM. "It can prove that this guy here has bailed out on his last 1 fares, including this one. As for the lawsuit, you guys are riding with him. I think you guys are trying to take advantage of me."

"For what?" Mira asked. "It's your fault for being a senile old man." Mira responded.

"Old? I'm 40 years old!" The cabby replied.

"I'm sorry, you drink regularly. Sorry I made that mistake." Mira responded, as he bravely (lol) got out of the cab.

"Drinking? I've been sober for 2 years now. Now pay up!"

Mira just stood there, pretending to decide on something.

BM began to feel the heat. "Uhhh..." he muttered, glaring from side to side, trying desperately to think of a plan. "Well, how about..." he started, but he had nothing left to say. 'Out. Gotta get out.' As sweat dripped down his brow, he turned and dove for the door. Opening the door, he stood next to Mira. BM was vibrating, possibly from fear, possibly from excitement. Quietly, he whispered, "We should run. Really. Let's go."

"No. Watch this." Mira said, as he turned his attention to the cabby. "If you intend to sue, you're case would not hold any merit. Even if it did, I'd be the one responsible, not them. Now then, I'll save my drinking comments for court. Now if you will excuse us, you are interrupting a police investigation."

The cabby laughed. "Police investigation? Ha! I don't believe you for one second! Why would they allow a kid to join the police force?" He continued to laugh.

"Excuse me!" Sandra said with sudden authority. "I'll have you know, I am a private investigator. These two are assisting me in a very important case. We have to go investigate the Delavara household, which is the crime scene, to find evidence that the real killer may have left behind. Now, I do not believe Mira is lying about paying his fare, and I believe you really think it was him. We will investigate this further after we save someone's life. Okay?"

The cabby's smile flipped, turned upside down. He grumbled and drove off after Sandra got out of the taxi.

"Not exactly what I had in mind." Mira said, commenting about the last part of that situation.

"Well, I seriously want to investigate to see what's really going on before it's a huge problem. But right now, someone is depending on us to find this evidence that will save his life," Sandra said. Plus, I know how much it sucks to be falsely accused of something. "...Let's go inside and see where this takes us."

BM was shocked at Sandra's authority and handling of the situation. 'Wow...' he thought, spacing out. Sandra addressing him was enough to snap hm out of his trance, though. "H-Huh? Oh yeah. Come on!" he said, running around the corner well ahead of Sandra and Mira. Turning his head back and slowing down, he delivered a deep-voiced, "Let's do this."
'Perfect.'

Sandra could barely stop herself from laughing at BM's sudden deep-voiced "Let's do this." "Um...BM? You do realize you just passed the crime scene, right?" Sandra asked. She knew the address well enough that she had memorized the exact number of steps it takes to make it there.

Hearing Sandra's voice again, BM slowed down and turned to her. "What? No I... Oh." BM said downheartedly, looking back at the house he ended up missing. Remembering how perfect his last deep-voiced comment was, he delivered another, to save himself from looking foolish. "It was all part of the plan." With that line, he began slowly walking back to the crime scene.

Sandra had to hold her breath in order not to laugh. Even that was barely working, and she made a ridiculous face which would have made her laugh if she saw it. She walked behind BM, hoping he didn't see her reacting so strongly.

BM arrived at the crime scene eager as ever. "Okay, here we go!" he said in his normal voice an he went to open the door. Then a thought struck him. 'What if ter's blood and body parts everywhere?' He began to feel uneasy. 'Or if her ghost is still haunting the house?' BM stepped back, noticing Sandra's funny face. But not even that could calm him. "Uuugh... Can you do it?" he asked in a squeaky, shaky voice. "I'd uhh... I'd like to see a real professional at work."

Sandra walked in shortly after. "She was supposed to have been killed right here." She walked into the center of the room. "Looks like this place has been cleaned up. In the picture, there was upturned furniture, and blood everywhere. ...I'll see if there's any evidence in another room." Sandra walked into the kitchen.
