Tina thought that the girl on the screen looked very lovely, but all of a sudden the power came off. "Huh? What happened? Why'd it turn off all of a sudden? she asked, surprised.

"Well, we're at the Manor. Don't know what Xaivers problem was, but..." Lucas said, trailing off, then looking at the sky.
"Oh no, the moon! It's just being covered up by a cloud, but in...say, 30 minutes, that werewolf is gonna come charging! I'm off!" Lucas yelled, dashing off, leaving Layton, Tina and Luke alone.
"Tina, you're welcome to join us, you know. Want to come to see Mayor Hastings with us?" Layton asked Tina inquizzitively.

Finding that Bruno was not around, Flora went up once more to the hidden room. This time, she examined the larger gray box with a long pole and holes. It was connected to another object which was conical in shape and had similar holes in a sphere at the top. "I wonder how these buttons work," she said, pressing a button on the box and pushing up the little knob on the cone. She then said, "Well, I pressed these buttons, now what?" not knowing that there were three people listening intently on the other side of the conversation.
Tina happily agreed, seeing as there was nothing else to do. Then a voice caught her attention, apparently coming from the tiny TV once more. "Who's that? Is that the voice of the pretty girl shown there before?"

"Woah, what was that?", he asked, after the connection was lost.
Before the Professor could speak, he heard something.
"Well, I pressed these buttons, now what?", a voice from the other side of he TV said.
Luke approached the TV. Could it be the girl from before, he asked himself. He wasn't going to stay there, doing nothing.
"H-hello?", he said quietly at the box. "Is there someone there?"

Spoiler: Puzzle answer
The werewolf looked up to the sky. He grinned. Full moon. He began to run down the city streets until a certain scent piqued his curiosity. He stuck his nose to the sky, trying to pin-point this new smell. "...Visitors..." He looked over towards the area of the scent, and caught sight of the oh-so-familiar Manor. He began to sprint towards the Manor, until he saw three silhouettes. He whispered to himself. "Heh, Dinner's come to me this time." He licked his fangs, and let out and ear-blowing Howl as he madly dashed for the trio.

Tina listened intently as Mr. Layton gave a puzzle. Luke then replied, "Heheh, I got it! But I'll let Tina answer this one. If she can't I'll do so." Tina thought for a few seconds then said, "Of course! Friday's the name of the horse! All of a sudden, there was a loud howl coming from the forest. "Mother said that if you hear a howl like that, run to the nearest building and stay indoors," she said, running to Mayor Hastings's manor. Once inside, she waited for the twosome to come in as well while taking out her silver lollipop from Ms. Lola.

Layton, deciding to follow the advice of Tina, dashed inside the building with Luke.
"My, that sounded feroucious. I hope the werewolf can't get inside buildings." Layton said, panting for breath.
He looked around him. He was in a large hallway with calendars dating back to the 50's plastered alll over the walls. Mayor Hastings, he presumed, had done this, and there were several circles on certain dates and messily scribbled notes.
"Luke, Tina, look here. I think Mayor Hastings has circled dates when the werewolf hjas appeared, and notes of what he has been doing. That's odd. The sightings started in the 50's...but dropped right down afterward. Now they've picked up again...I suppose it's just another mystery." Layton exlaimed, as the three walked along the creepy corridor.

"The... '50s?", Luke excclaimed. "Well, that's a lot of time... And the falling regress and progress could mean... the werewolf took a break?" He tought out loud. "Maybe it left town, then came back?"
He examined the calendars, as he walked, and noticed the same tendency Layton did.
((I pictured a game with the "Mystery Added" screen, with a mystery called "The Circled Calendars" being introduced XD))

About 20 minutes passed by until Xavier heard familiar voices in the manor. He stepped down the extravagant stairs and saw the familiar faces. He bowed, and gave his famous light-hearted smile. "I see the werewolf has given you quite a scare. But don't worry, he can't get into here." Xavier laughed a bit. "Tina is the safeguard." He pointed to the Silver lollipop she was holding. "I still don't understand why... but those seem to actually work. Myself being skeptical, I have yet to see it fail." He walked closer and saw them eyeing the calendar. "Ah, I see you've spotted the Town's famous calendar. With this, we are able to predict 80% of the werewolf's appearances. That's why we keep it hung up, even if it is a little off the year." He became more serious as he flipped through the calendar. "His actions fell for quite sometime. We had thought he was gone forever. But He returned... and took the previous second-hand of the Mayor..." He looked to side and closed his eyes. "We found him mauled outside the outskirts of the forest. That scarred the rest of the villagers off except for the remaining few who were ready to get to the bottom of this beast." He sighed. He thought for a moment, and thought of a puzzle to get everyone's mind off the horrible sight.
"Speaking of calendars, have you ever heard this one?"

Flora, seeing that it was already night, said to herself, "It's been a long day. I've had so many discoveries in one day. I think I'll go to sleep now." She then changed into a nightgown, brushed her teeth and turned off the lights, leaving only a small lamp open. "Time to sleep....good night, little village."
((I'm not going to give the answer like LordWolfODonnell previously did, as I want you to examine this one. I'll give, say, 35 picarats for this. It's not the hardest puzzle in the book, after all.))

"I think I know the answer as well, Tina, but before we say it, lets let Luke have a shot at it." Layton said, smiling. He turned back to Xaiver.
"80%...that's very high...and you can tell when the werewolf willl come just by looking at the calenders? And who exactly predicts it, Mayor Hastings or you, I would presume?" Layton asked Xaiver.
((Now for some Lucas action.))
Lucas checked all his windows were firmly shut and locked, his doors too. He hated that darned werewolf, and if he thought that he was going to...wait...SILVER LOLIPOP! Lucas checked all over, but alas, he had forgotten to buy a lolipop...
"Well, I'll just hope Lola is still selling them..." He said to himself, putting on his coat.
"Bye, Hon, off to buy a silver Lolipop." Lucas called, and before his wife could object, (lol) he had already run out the door.
It was a Full moon as well. "Oh Great, just what I need. The werewolf is at full power...now, Lola sells her lollipops near the....ur...Mayor Place, whatever its called...so, off I go!" Lucas said, jogging over to the Town Hall area.
"Drat, she's gone." Lucas said to himself when he got there. CRASH!!! A Loud smash forced Lucas to cover up his ears. He thought it might have been a door or a gate of some sort. Shortly after the smash he heard some growls and faint footsteps....or were they pawsteps...?
Lucas creamed, scared that the werewolf might get him...then realised his mistake. Now the werewolf knew he was there...would he come after him...?

The werewolf grinned, and inched closer towards his prey. He enjoyed the horror-filled look his meal had on his face. He would have fun with this one. But, maybe just one more scream. He growled heavy, and snapped at Lucas. The want for blood was obvious in the werewolf's eyes.
He heard the heavy break of footsteps in the grass and he whipped around. Two figures were running towards him. He recognized them as they ran closer, and he grinned. Fight, or run? No, too early to start picking everyone off one by one. He began to make a mad dash at them... but at the last second jumped over them and kept running into the woods, disappearing without a trace.
Xavier's face was completely ridden with hate. His hand was in a hard fist, and he gritted his teeth. He muttered under his breath and ran for Lucas. "Lucas! Lucas!! Are you alright?!"

"Lucas! Lucas are you okay? Sorry, I'm his wife, Ruby." Ruby introduced herself.
"A pleasure to meet you, Ruby." Layton said, tipping his hat to her.
"So, what went on around here?" she asked. At once, everyone started yelling about Werewolfes and lollipops and manors and Lucas and its cold and loads of other things besides. No-one could hear anything, so everyone started talking even louder, and louder, and louder...
"SILENCE!!!" A womans voice bellowed, and everyone spun aorund to see an old woman with rimmed specatcles on her nose.
"Chelmey, I do beleive you have an apology to maketo Xaiver here. He can't possibly be the werewolf. Look, everyone come inside before we all freeze to death!" She shouted, and ushered everyone inside the manor house.
((Come on, people, you can still join if you want to! Maybe someone can be granny riddleton or something.))

Luke thought about Xavier's puzzle, but, before he could answer, he heard a scream. He turned towards the now open door, and saw Lucas. He followed when Tina, Xavier and Layton went towards the werewolf, and was relieved when it jumped into the woods.
After that, Lucas' wife, Ruby appeared. After they all shouted, an old lady appeared, and pushed them into the manor.
"First,", he started. "The answer to Xavier's puzzle is because, since the calendar repeats itself every 28 years, and they married on Sunday, their 28th anniversary would also be a Sunday."
"And, second..." He paused, staring at the old lady. "Who are you, um... madame?"

After the werewolf ran away, the inspector accused Xavier of being behind all the werewolf incidents, then Lucas's wife Ruby came into the scene. Everyone asked questions about Lucas, the werewolf, the silver lollipops and other matters concerning the attacks until an old woman with round glasses hollered and ushered the group all inside. Tina sat down while Luke gave his explanation of the puzzle. Then when the question of the old lady came to light, Tina eagerly responded, "Oh, this is Mrs. Oakley! She's the caretaker of the mansion and also Mr. Xavier's wife."

"Darn right I am." Mrs Oakley said, folding her arms, giving everyone a hard glare.
"And the only one too, now I think about it." She said,leaning against the wall.
"Now, what was that all about? Mayor Hastings sent me to see if everyone was all right." Oakley siad, shaking her head.
"We're quite fine, m'lady, but Lucas here seems to be..." Layton trailed off, not exactly knowing what had happened to the poor chap. His eyes were open, but they never blinked, yet he could still move his legs. It was as if he was paralysed from the waist up.
"Yes, he's paralysed. This often happens in werewolf attacks. That's why sometimes, they can't even scream for help when they get dragged into the woods." Ruby finished, dabbing at a tear with a red hankercheif.

Tina listened to the conversation, hearing that people may get paralyzed when comin in contact with the werewolf during attacks. "That's terrible!" she exclaimed in her young, childish voice. "They're already threatened by the werewolf and they can't even help themselves! It's a good thing we saw poor Lucas, or else he may have been eaten by the wolf!" Then she turned to Mrs. Oakley and asked her, "Where is Mayor Hastings now, ma'am?"

"Mayor Hastings is ready to see you. She's only expecting Layton and Luke, but I'm sure she won't mind everyone else coming along too."
The largish group walked down the hallway, Layton and Luke gazing at more calenders. There came a spot in the wall were it looked slightly damp, and when Layton reached out to touch it, he discovered it wasn't wet at all.
"I see you've found the paint patch." Oakley said, adjusting her glasses. "Legend has it that it moves. But at the same time, midnight, the Paint always comes right back there. To that spot." She said, smiling. Ruby pouted.
"That's nonsense. How can some paint move?" She said.
"Well, we have a werewolf. That's odd, and if you think moving paint is odd after a werewolf, then..." Oakley said, stopping.
"Oh no. Mayor hastings has been even more precautious in letting you in. Another riddle.

Luke stared at the paint patch, got close to it, and touched it. "This is not paint... This is absolutely dry!"
Then, Mrs. Oakley told them about the moving paint patch.
"Wow...", he said. "I'd never heard about disappearing and reapearing paint in my life."
When they advanced further, he read Mayor Hastings' newest riddle.
"Uh...", Luke thought. "I think I've got it, but just in case I'll let someone else answer." He scratched his head and laughed.

Xavier watched as everyone began to converse with each other, still confused onto why he was handcuffed... and with the inspector on him. He looked to the inspector with a blank expression. "Now that we've established I'm not a danger to anyone... may I please be released?"

"He seems completley...completley...paralyzed, like I said. I don't know if anything can fix him..." Ruby said, worried.
"Nonsense. A warm bowl of Broth down his throttle will bring 'im back to life, I'm sure." Mrs.Oakley said, nodding.

Suddenly, they heard a sigh from inside the door.
"Can't any of you answer it?!" The voice from inside the door said.
"Mayor Hastings!" Ruby said, smiling vividly. Smoke started to pour out from under the door.
"what's with the smoke?" Layton asked, adjusting his hat. Oakley grinned.
"Hastings is quite the smoker. Iv'e never seen her without one. The smoke covers quite a bit of her face, so no-one really knows what she looks like." Oakley explained.
"Hastings, can you please let us in without solving this riddle? You know it's your old friend Oakley here!" She yelled, rapping at the door loudly.

They heard a sigh from inside the door.
"Fine, fine, in you come..." Hastings said, and opened the door slowly as a snail could run. Eventually the door was open, and there stood a woman wearing a blue suit and green tie. and indeed, her face was covered by smoke. she was an odd being indeed.
"Um, excuse me..." Said Layton to Mayor Hastings, who turned to look at him.
"Yes...?" She said, in a tone that Layton could not figure out whether it was angry or nice.
"Do you mind putting out that cigarette? I'm sure that the effects of passive smoking will not be good for Luke and Tina here." Layton said, looking at others for encouragement as well.

Lola's face lit up as Lucas approached her stall.

Luke didn't approve of smoking in any way, so he was annoyed by Mayor Hastings' habit. After Layton spoke, he wondered if the Mayor could see them throught the cloud of smoke. But after the Professor had spoken, Hastings turned at him, and Luke noticed it.
While Layton and Hastings spoke, Luke turned around. He noticed Lucas wasn't there, while Ruby was.
"Mrs. Ruby, where is Lucas?", he asked. He also noticed the door was open. But Lucas was paralized, wasn't he?

Hastings said nothing for a while then started to talk again.
"Xaiver! Why are you in handcuffs? Here, let me help you." She said, and pulled out a key in the shape of a skeleton. She put it in the lock and twisted it, freeing Xaiver. He seemed happy, but Chelmey was about to burst...
((Hope you don't mind me controlling your characters there for a bit, Wolf o donnel and L J, feeled like it was nesecarry to continue.))
Lucas smiled at Lola.
"Three silver lolipops and an apple burst, please." When will the next werewolf attack be?" Lucas asked, fishing around in his pocket for some spare change.

"Now, Lucas, you can't be worrying yourself over this silly werewolf nonsense." She handed the lollipops to him. "That'll be 20 pence, please, and the apple burst is on the house!" She smiled again.
