"Dad!" Miria called again, "Come on! Where are you?" She followed Somari. "Where the hell are you??" now, she was starting to get peeved off. Sometimes, she thought that her father forgot about her or that he didn't love her.

"Miria?" Isaac froze, his eyes widening. "MIRIA!" He sprinted, following the voice. Isaac stumbled around a corner, coming into view of a couple of teenagers.

"Oh, Miria! How did you..? I didn't want you here. Not today! Why would..! It doesn't matter now. Whose your friend and do you have the lab keys?" He paused for a breath, reaching for his asPHONE and scanning his surroundings for movement. The last he needed was an orchestra of turrets dropping from the sky and riddling them with lead.

Miria just glared at him. "Of course you don't want me here, dad." she said, "You don't care about me. I mean, it's bring your daughter to work day and I had to come on my own because you won't leave work just to spend time with your ONLY daughter." Her eyes portrayed hurt and anger and each word was like venom. "But whatever, dad."

"Oh. Heya, Somari." Isaac racked his brains, scratching the back of his neck. "Y-Yeah, you brought in that lasagne last week! Delicious. And you mopped it up after Bobby had three servings..."

He choked on his words as he heard Miria and raised his eyebrows. "Miria...is that why you thought...that I didn't bring you here? No. No, no, I didn't bring you in case...well, in case this happened!" Isaac shook his head and moved closer to his daughter, crouching to make eye contact. "I couldn't live with myself if you were hurt."

Isaac furrowed his brow and sighed. "GLaDOS is totally independent now. It'll be nigh upon impossible to disable her. It is, however, fundamental to remember that her control is limited to this facility." The man wiped the sweat from his forehead, pacing back to the lab door.

"We can't communicate with the outside world. So, four-part plan is this: 1. We get into the lab and construct a series of dual-portal devices. 2. We fight our way to Miss Caroline's old office. I hear she's here today to witness her successor's 'big update'. 3. We get Miss Caroline and find a way out of the facility. 4. We escape this place and get back-up."

Isaac stretched his hand out to Miria. "Look, if you don't want to listen to what I have to say, that's fair enough. But what happened between your mom and I...it wasn't...never mind!" He snapped. "Keys?"

Nearby, there was a tall, young man. As he walked, he heard voices. Immideatly, he ran towards them.

"Oy! Anyone there?!" he said as he turned a corner and saw a scientist and two teenagers.

"Hey. You three are sorvivors too?" he said as he approached them. He was tall, his usually messy hair even messier than usual, his face covered in sweat, and a white cloth wrapped around his upper left arm.
...... The cloth had a few bloodstains.

He was also holding a long metal pole in his right hand. From the looks of it, he has been fighting in order to stay alive.

Miria smacked Isaac's hand away and went to Somari. "Dude! You okay?" she said, "Hey, calm down." She looked over at the man. "Who are you? Are you okay?" she asked him, "I'm the only one here not affiliated with this stupid place, so I have no idea what's going on. And my dad doesn't love me, so he's never told me anything."

"What, this bullet wound? It's nothing. Anyway, name's Adam Blade. I'm one of the poor saps these nerds use as ginea pigs," Adam said to introduce himself.

"Anyway, I don't know much. All I know is that some psychotic computer is killing people. It set a few robots with guns, or somethin' after me. But as you can see..." he said as he raised the metal pole which, upon a closer look, had a few oil and blood stains and it was bent in a few areas. "... I took care of them."

Miria just turned to Isaac. "You stayed here, in this madhouse, instead of coming home? What the hell is wrong with you?? You left me to fend for myself, dad! You're so selfish! I have to cook, clean, buy groceries... I even have to figure out how to fix things on my own! I'm pretty sure the dishwasher is beyond repair. You missed my birthday... How could you forget your only child's birthday?" Her eyes were filled to the brim with tears. "You're just as bad as mom."

"Space! Space! Let's go to space!" Miria gasped and threw her phone. On the inside, she was cursing over and over again.

"SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE!!"

"Sh-Shut up!" she whispered angrily, "Shut up!" She secretly hoped that Isaac didn't hear that. If he did, it was only a matter of time before he figured out that she was responsible for the space core.

Adam heard the constant sound of Miria`s phone.

He wasn`t amused.

His right eye twitched, his mouth curled into a snarl, his eyes frowned, and his grip on the metal pole got tighter. Basically, he was anoyed. He then raised the pole over his head, ready to smash it into pieces.

However, just as he was about to swing his arm down, making the pole smash the phone, he remembered that the phone belonged to the teenage girl.

“'Ey, you don`t mind if I smash this blasted thing, do ya?” he asked Miria.

Then, the phone stopped. "It's all good now!" Miria said, "Please don't kill my phone." She felt relieved that the phone decided to shut up, for it's own good as well as her's.

Isaac made his way into the laboratory, muttering at an inaudible volume, before typing a long list of commands into a computer. A hatch opened up above the group as many cores sped past them, above the hatch.

"Alright. We have control of a few of these, the most recent one being the Space Sphere." Isaac groaned, as said personality core fell out of the hatch and hit the ground.

Miria was surprised her dad wasn't mad at her. It was almost... Unsatisfying. "Really dad?" she asked, "You're not mad? I ruined that sphere because you forgot my birthday! I sent you a virus in an email to mess it up! Why aren't you mad at me?? I can't get you to come home, I can't get you to love me, and I can't even get you to be mad at me! Maybe it would be better off if I let that stupid computer kill me. Then, I won't be a burden anymore!" She sniffled, trying to hold back tears, and turned around to walk away.

Isaac jolted up. "That...that is a brilliant, brilliant thing." He grinned and finished wiring the core in, a dim, red light encompassing the dark room. "Miria, can you write a virus on your phone? No, stupid thing to suggest. It would take much too long to do that." Isaac ran over to one end of the room, twisting a metal dial, his ear pressed to the steel surface as his safe popped open. He reached into the expanse, pulling out a spare Programmer's asPHONE. He threw it over to Miriam deftly. "And by the way, I know you wrote that virus. You were the only one capable of breaching my firewalls. The only one with the opportunity to sneak the virus into the network. Plus, your phone kept waking me up when you went to sleep over at Beryl's. That voice..!"

Miria looked at the asPHONE, then at her father. "I don't need to write one..." she said, pulling a flash drive out of her pocket, "I have some right here." The drive was light blue and had a bug drawn on it. "They're pretty simple ones, though. I don't think they'll do much damage to a super computer... It might slow it down a little to give me more time to write a better one."

Adam crossed his arms and grinned.

"See? What did I tell you? If you and your father work together, then we might be able to get out of here alive," he said in a confident voice. He had done it. Like his father and uncles who went to war, Adam kept the morale high and the group together.

Hey, he may be blunt and a bit rude, but he's got a good heart.

Miria actually smiled. A genuine smile. That was something that had not happened in a while. She felt like Isaac was proud of her. She tossed him the flash drive. "They're EXE files. You have to run them to infect the device. You can open the code and program it to make it infect the entire system." Then, she turned on her asPHONE and studied it for a bit. Once she figured out how it worked, she began programming.

She really had to work on this virus. It was going cut off that crazy computer from the net work. She called it the isolation virus.

"Fantastic." Isaac blurred his fingers across several keyboards, commanding many autonomous machines throughout the room to construct a set of complex devices. "Okay, then. Let's get this working." He jabbed the flash drive into a Universal Serial Bus slot, opening the files and watching gleefully as the viruses spread throughout the system, corrupting and damaging files. "I'd hug you, Miria, but I'm so ecstatic, I might crush your bones. Tell you what, I'll hug you when we're not in mortal danger."
