Mephiles attempted to dodge, but the ball of light ripped right through his body, leaving a huge gaping hole where it was. Suddenly, the armor disappeared off of him and appeared, undamaged, on the other side of the room, leaving the hole in Mephiles.
With that, Xero quickly called his armor forth, and shot a blast that was so large, it engulfed Mephiles, and disintegrated him. Once it subsided, Mephiles phased out, turned into a ball of darkness, spun out of control, and finally dissipated.
Looking at the damage that blast caused, he turned to Yuki and scratched the back of his head. "Oops, sorry..."

Taking no notice that her house was decimated, Yuki rushed to Xero. "You're alright!" She wrapped her arms around him, pulling him as close as his armor would let him. She frowned, and tapped his armor. "This is in my way!" she said, feigning brattiness. But her eyes were twinkling.

"I can fix that," Xero joked, and the armor reappeared on the side of the room, showing him in normal clothes again. "Now that he's finally gone, maybe we can finally spend some time together."

"Oh, here comes the great hero once again." Starlord had gone from a marginally happy attitude to one of fury. Perhaps the blue flames appearing from his mouth, yet didn't seem to burn had something to do with it. "I'm surprised you didn't read the letter; but I may as well tell you something." Starlord's voice became ever more eerie when he next spoke. "The one of armour shall defeat the one of the Orbs. The one of Orbs shall seek new knowledge and the great spirit will come. The great spirit will fight the one who fights for the one he loves and then, the Lord will signal the coming of the true chaos and the darkness...." Upon finishing his statement, Starlord's eyes rolled back into his head, the blue flames ceased and he flew back into the city, but it seemed as if he was doing this instinctively, not consciously. "...What was that?" he muttered as he flew back into the streets so well.

How could we, a motley crew of mere mortals, possibly defeat them? There was naught we could do. The Darkness spread across the world and the light died, but as the day must end, so must the night. "And you goddamn right it's our age." Putting out the cigarette, he looked at his two subordinates. Making a floating fireball appear by snapping his fingers, his eyes flashed their colors then returned to normal.
"What makes you think I of all people will allow someone to try and take it from us without dying? Don't forget that those such as Aero and myself have been fighting for centuries. As hard as the times of chaos will be, we must fight toward the future at any cost. You can mourn later, but you must fight now." The flame disappeared. Seigi looked at the two, then turned away.
"When the time comes for the battle to end all battles, I want you to make your decision on whether or not to stay as those fighting the darkness or those fighting all else. Should you choose to stay by my side, I want no one intervening on my fight. It is mine, and mine alone. If you decide to fight for your own causes, it matters not. Do what you will. I will not stop you. Unless you're going to kill me, then you'll be stopped." Putting his hands in his pockets, he began to walk away. He didn't feel like abusing his powers at the time and it put him deep in thought.
"I refuse to allow a repeat of history. Even if it means my life. And even if it won't bring her back."
He kicked a pebble away, sending it at dangerous speeds. Whatever it hit was the victim's problem, not his.

"No. This is not the way for me to go." Somewhere, in a back alley, faint voices were emanating from the Orbs. Starlord held one in each hand, hidden inside the shadows. "But you need to be stronger... this is the path to true power... please..." To someone who had heard the voice of Starlord when he had been breathing fire, this voice would have been familiar - but to Starlord himself, it was nothing more then the voice of the Orbs. "...If this is truly my destiny, then I will participate in this 'Lightning Deathmatch' you insist on talking about, whatever it may be." Starlord hid the Orbs and took to the streets, looking for the location told to him by the Orbs.
