"Haha! I occasionally play video games, read, and chat. But mostly, I love writing," Lida answered. "Fan fictions, short stories, novels that would never turn out, personal essays...I've been doing that sort of thing for years. Oh, and I like to do voice over work for some abridged series, improvise, act, tell stories...It might sound silly, but I like writing stories and telling stories both. You can usually find me writing in one of my many notebooks full of failed ideas." She smiled widely.

"I'll have a small cheese pizza," Lida replied. "With some ice water, please."
"Champagne for the couple?" the waiter asked.
"Well, I've never had champagne before...But sure, why not?" she responded as Satoshi awkwardly tried to tell the waiter they weren't a couple. She then turned back to Satoshi as the waiter walked away. "Sorry about that. I'm pretty hungry..." She smiled. "Anyway, a writer and a reader. I could make a musical about it." She chuckled. "Maybe I'll let you read some of my work sometime...Except most of my work outside of fan fictions is awful!"

Satoshi sighed, but then laughed. "I don't care if they're awful! I'd read your works anyway!" Satoshi gave the thumbs up. "I've read so many bad books in my time that there's no way that your works can dishevell me!" He then quieted down a bit, as he waited for the waiter to come. He had realised that he had made the conversation ever so slightly one-sided. A minute or so later, he asked: "So, uh, why do you need to meet your bro?"

"Haha! I take it you read the Twilight series, then?" Lida asked jokingly. That was the worst series she, personally, has ever read. She then burst out laughing.
"So, uh, why do you need to meet your bro?" Satoshi asked. Lida sighed.
"Oh, he's been going through some relationship trouble," Lida replied. "And I feel it's my responsibility to cheer him up. So, I set up a 'meeting' with him in that bar and grill. Er...My brother doesn't drink, but there was a pool table there." She blushed. "I really suck at pool, but at least it's entertaining to watch how bad I am." She then smiled slightly. "And I figured after playing pool, we'd go here. He'd be really hungry because he always is. I'd pay for a nice meal with him. Then we can talk about the problem if he so chooses. If he doesn't want to talk about it, I can keep him distracted with my constant and annoying 'face' jokes and with talk about...Well, whatever comes to mind."

Satoshi chuckled. "I wish you were my sister. My sister would never do anything like that for me! Pfft, she'd laugh at me if I had such troubles!" He chuckled, despite it being true. "This is off topic, but I go for a walk and stop for a drink, and then suddenly, I'm having pizza and champagne with a new found friend!" He laughed a lot at that.

Suddenly, the waiter returned with the pizzas and the champagne. He proceeded to pour it into their bottles, and politely said: "hope you enjoy."

He bit into his pizza in a half elegant, half monsterish fashion. He chewed with his mouth closed, and he chewed quietly, but his teeth were destroying it very easily. He laughed a lot and then drank some of his champagne. "Woah, this is strong stuff." It was so strong for him that he almost fell off his chair. "Whoops." He grinned at his stupidity. "Still pretty close. What, about a mile? Maybe just a little further than that?" Lida asked. "Closer than me, at any rate." She smiled. "Hey, it seemed like the right thing to do after you saved me. Come on." She laughed a little and poured herself some champagne. "Well, who's to say?" she asked as she took a sip. "I'm an even bigger clutz than you are. Watch." She got up, took one step, and fell down in the middle of the floor. She got back up with a stupid smile plastered to her face and sat back down. Well, more like tripped again on her way back to her seat and fell into her chair, happening to land in a sitting position, but still. "That means that if you accidentally hit someone in the head with the gavel, say, yourself, then I'll accidentally trip on my way to treat a patient and wind up falling in a bunch of needles full of sedatives..." She laughed at the thought.

"Yeah. You first," Lida joked, laughing hard. "I think I've had enough champagne for now..." She put her cup down thoughtfully. Then, she smiled. "You don't need to worry about me. I would have really dropped the hammer on him if he came any closer." She was silent for a few seconds. Then, she decided to ask some questions. "So, uh...How do you feel right now?" She usually wasn't bad at making small talk, but this was an exception.

Satoshi frowned. He knew that it was probably true, but he still felt a bit guilty. "I didn't. I think you need some water to sober you up." He called over awaiter and asked for some water. "Just plain, please." The waiter nodded and walked off. "There. Now just sit there and continue eating until the waiter comes along to give you some water. Take sips. Eventually you'll sober up enough to at least walk properly." He snickered a bit. "I've never seen someone get drunk on one drop before."

"Well, I'm just full of surprises, aren't I?" Lida asked. "Some people accuse me of getting drunk on water. Because I act drunk all the time. Or, at least, that's what they think. AM I TALKING TOO LOUD?!" Then, she snickered and ate more pizza. "In driver's ed, I learned that nothing truly sobers anyone up. Alcohol would just have to course through your system...Speaking of system, I gotta go...That way!" She got up to go to the bathroom, but fell as soon as she left the table. "I'm fine! I'll just be getting up now..." She got back up and leaned on the tables and booths all the way to the bathroom...Until there weren't anymore. Poop. How am I supposed to get through that hallway to the bathroom now? she thought as she fell again.

"Yeah. It was faster than most people I meet," Lida replied absentmindedly. "But trust me, I won't do anything you're uncomfortable with. Well, aside from what we've already done." She smiled. "So, if you start to feel really uncomfortable, just tell me and I'll back off." She nudged Satoshi. "But at least it's not snowing, eh?" She nudged a few more times and laughed. "You know, I'm slightly nervous, too. This is the closest thing to a date I've ever had." She blushed from embarrassment.

Satoshi blushed. "I-is th-this a d-d-d-" He was flushed with anxiousness and surprise. "Bu-but we o-only just me-e-e..." He stuttered off again. The thing was, he wasn't sure what he was or was not comfortable with. "O-only ha-lf a-a-an hour left un-until he arri-ives?"

Lida chuckled. "I never said that. But if you want this to be a date, then I don't see how it wouldn't count as one," she responded. Then, she shrugged. "A half hour more or less. But, knowing him, he'll take his time getting here. I'd give him more like 45 minutes." She smiled. "The fountain's only a few minutes away."

Satoshi finally snapped. He couldn't relax. The hand holding was all too much. "I know but, but... I'm so new to all of this. Girls, friendly outings, friends. Seriously. I'm a loser. And that's why I'm overreacting over nothing. If you know what's best for, you'll shun me out of you mind, and oretend I don't exist. I wouldn't mind. I'm used to it." He started to cry. "I wasn't out for a walk, I was out because I had nothing better to do, as it's Summer, and uni isn't on." He frowned. "So-sorry for lying. I just wanted a friend..."

Lida was quiet for a moment, absorbing all that Satoshi said.
"Look, Satoshi..." she said hesitantly. She sighed. "First of all, I'm new to pretty much all of this as well. Friends...I never see any of them outside of school. And I don't want to after one...Bad experience. I almost never go out with friends, either." She smiled slightly. "I guess I'm a loser as well. You know where I usually am at this time? I'm usually curled up on the couch, typing on my laptop." She laughed. "I was only asked out once in my life. And guess what? The guy never showed! I mean, I guess I was asking for it, kinda. I wanted him to show up at the mall with me instead of going to a movie or something normal like that. The next time I saw him, he told me he forgot and asked me if I was insecure because I asked him to the mall. Perhaps I am insecure..." She smiled brightly.
"Look, I know how it is, okay? I'd usually go to the mall just because I have nothing better to do. I've gone there at least a couple times a week just...because my brother asked me to go with him. If it wasn't for him, I'd almost never leave the house," Lida explained. "Well, congratulations. You now officially know more about me than I ever care to say to my so-called friends." She walked closer to Satoshi. "I can understand you wanting a friend. I've always wanted a real one myself." She hugged Satoshi and whispered, "By the way, I'm empathetic towards everyone. I feel what you do, just weaker. And now that you're crying, I feel like I'm going to cry. And trust me, you never want to see me cry."

Satoshi took everything she said in reply in. Then he got hugged. He'd hug back, but he didn't know how to, so he just stood there, stiff as a board.
Suddenly, he spoke. "I understand. It's good to know I'm not alone... I've always been an outcast. Not asked out seriously at all, been bullied, everything. And when I do make a friend, who's a girl, I lie to her. I shouldn't lie over futile things like that." He stopped crying. "I can't let you cry. It'd be mean. Sorry for ruining our outing." He then grinned. "Let's pretend this moment didn't happen, ok?" he whispered. "Let's go have a good time, and see what ha-happens from there..."
