Mia smiled somewhat triumphantly, "Yes, I was. I need to know that you truly had nothing to do with this woman prior to your being abducted Miles or the drugs that were in your system. I trust you, but I just want to be sure on this."

"I don't even know the woman's name." Miles said bluntly. He was dead serious and had that look of smug confidence in his eyes that always betrayed his stone dead poker face during games.

Mia nodded, "Alright, that's all I needed to hear. If there's anything left of the office, I'll go over it with a fine tooth comb to make sure I can win this." Mia turned and walked out of the room. As she walked out of the hospital she checked her watch to make sure she had enough time to check out the crime scene before seven. Finding that she did have a good chunk of time, she hailed a taxi.

Draco took a quick stop at the nearest expresso cafe for a quick cup of latte before heading back to the prescent. It would be close to midnight before he could get the reports filed for this case, plus he still had to interview "Mrs. Edgeworth" and hear her story out. Not to mention take a look at he crime scene, which could wait till tomorrow. If all the evidence fits, he'll have to agree with the woman and press charges against Miles Edgeworth. But there is still something odd about this case.

He can't be too sure, but he had a feeling. His six sense began to tingle, warning him that this was no ordinary case. He learned to trust his sense over the years, especially since the incident at Dusky Bridge.

Once in his office, he dialed up his secretary. "Daine, you can send Mrs. Melissa Edgeworth in now." He hung the phone up and took another sip of his latte.

Shelbie walked around town, just looking around. She had barely known Edgeworth, and that just didn't seem to be the person he would be. 'I shouldn't get involve with this... But yet I'm curios. A little.' She thought, stretching herself. "And yet she's pressing charges..." Shelbie mumbled to herself, crossing her arms.

[OOC: Due to the website freaking out on me this post is a little late. I apologize for any unwanted waiting.]

Melissa stepped in with her hands tucked neatly in front of her. She sat down gently and gazed at him with big slightly frightened eyes.
"You wanted to see me, detective?" She asked softly.

"Yes, Mrs. Edgeworth," he spoke, his tone emotionless and to the point. In his past experience with cases, he felt it was neccesary to to mantain a neutral tone throughout the ordeal. "I've already been told you wish to press assault charges against your husband, Mr. Miles Edgeworth. If you could, please. Tell me your story about what had happened this evening in your home. Take all the time you need." He never looked at her until the final part.

It was one of his techniques. Most who talk with him never looked him directly into his eyes because of their cold stare. Some of the cadets jokingly told him it was because he has 'The Dragon's Stare,' a nickname for his leeriness. He scofted at the name, finding it more irritating than amusing, but grew acustom anyway. Heck, many times culprit's hear the tales themselves and immediately confess. Either way, his gaze has served him in mersuring everyone he meets. 'You are very brave, or very foolish if you stare into the Eyes of the Dragon.' The cadets would say.

Mia grumbled as she walked into Fey Law Office. She'd been lucky that none of the police had stuck around the remains of The Edgeworth and Son Law Office, but there hadn't been anything to help Miles case. The only evidence she had at this point was the contact lens and Mile's claim 9she'd have to get an affidavit for that...).

Melissa had no problem looking at the detective's eyes, but that could be due to the unshakable feeling of sweet bliss that she exuded. If she was being made uncomfortable it would be impossible to see through the thick layer of sugar.
"Um...well...my honey bear was telling me about this hard day at work he was having. See, his dad retired a week ago and he's missed him a lot. They spent nearly every day if not together than at least a minimum of an hour away, so it's easy to understand why. He had just gone through his first case without him. He was helping his friend Nick out by defending one of the children they used to play with. Larry I believe. Of course Nick and Larry still hang out, but Miles isn't very fond of him so he sort of insists that he's Nick's friend and not his. It's sort of funny really." Melissa laughed and it was like a dozen tiny bells were drifting in the breeze. "Well he called me and said that he wanted to meet me at my apartment today. I thought it was a little weird sense we usually only meet at the park and then we go to his apartment." She gave the detective a meek smile. "I know this must sound sort of strange. If we were married then it would only make sense that we live together. We've been keeping it a secret from my father. He never really approved of Miles and would have been furious if he found out. I didn't want anything to happen to him, you know?" Her face flushed red and as she looked down at her hands the atmosphere shifted. "I love Miles. I really do. I don't regret anything we've ever done, but...recently he's been getting so detached...and then after what happened today..." Her big green eyes filled with tears. "I just...I just want my Miles back." She wept into her hands.

Levana had heard about Miles and his situation. She went over to the hospitail as fast as she could to met with him. 'I have to see if he's fine. Anything about his 'attitude' has changed.' Levana thought to herself, as she entered the hospitial. She had gotten directions to his room andd went over there. Levana knocked softly and entered. "Are you here?" She asked. She had heard about so many things of him and his father, Levana had also seen a couple of Mile's fathers cases in court, but never really interacted with either of them.

Miles looked up from the book in his hands.
"Hello." He put on his showman's smile. "Is there something I can do for you, miss?" He didn't bother to close the book or even put it down, but at least he didn't go back to reading it while he waited for her response.

"Nice to know there are some people on my side." Miles returned his focus to the book in his hand. It was a dry read on law techniques, so he'd have no trouble reading and listening to his guest. "However, unless you're with the police I've no reason to speak with you."

"Like I get any interacts with them. I work on my own." She said, shaking her head slowly. "Everyone that I try to met, thinks that I am with the police. But I'm not. I get the information from them, and everything hangs with me." Levana paused for a moment in thought. "Most of the time I'll sneak to the crime scene, I can't trust to get all fo the information from them. So, I should be able help you." Levana smirked.

"So what is it that you do, Ms. Halo?" Miles asked while he turned a page. He didn't really care, but it was sort of nice to talk someone without any personal stake in things. It would add a good perspective.

"You don't know already?" He asked.

"Just as you have the right to not answer my inquiry as to what it is you actually do, Ms. Halo." Miles replied. "Though, maybe you could indulge me. On what you know, what are your thoughts on the matter?" Miles turned another page. "I'll do my best to fill in the blanks for you if you like."

Levana smiled. "I'm a Forensic Psychologist. I'm make psychology on law terms, making it easier for people like you to understand." She said. "But I now that your father is a great Defense lawyer and a great man... And you seem to have followed in his footsteps. You'll become a great lawyer yourself." Levana said, smiling softer now, getting a chair and sittting down. "I've seen that you keep a cool head in court. For you to lose it... Doesn't seem possible. It takes years for someone to go... Mmm... Nuts. Usually when your ten and older is when you start getting the disorders." She said looking down.

"Ah." Miles replied, pretty much ignoring the compliments. "Well they say that I was simply on a strange mixture of drugs. I don't recall which ones on the top of my head. Interesting to know that fact seems to have slipped through the rumor mill's cracks. I think I might actually prefer the insanity theory." He flipped ahead a few pages using his finger to save his place, read a little, then went back to where he'd saved.

"Mmhm." Levana said, nodding a little. 'Drugs...' She thought, going through a list in her head. "Well then." She said getting up. "I need to het the results and look over them... Is there anything I need to know before I go. I need to get everything I can get." She said, looking straight at Edgeworth.

"The woman who started all this kidnapped me and kept me sedated most of the time. I don't recall much." Miles said calmly. He almost sounded as if what he just said was an every day occurance that wouldn't be of any interest to anyone.

Levana took a mental note. 'Take to this woman.' "OK. Thank you for your time." She said, smiling. Levana talked to one of the doctors who takes cares of Edgeworth and had gotten the resultes of the test. After that was done, she walked back to the lab she was in and looked over the results.

Nick sifted through his disaster area of an apartment. Maybe he could find some old discarded blueprints and retool them. He didn't really expect to get anything from Larry, even though his friend had given his word that he would.
"I really need to consider a change of job." He grumbled.

After Levana looked over the results a couple of times, she stood up and streatched. "Time to go over to the scene." She mumbled. Levana walked outside and looked up to the sky and sighed out. Levana walked over as fast as she could. 'Well, well.' She thought to herself. 'Will evidence show up?' Levana asked herself.

Levana looked up at the ruins of the office. 'Wow.' She thought to herself as she looked up and down. She then tilted her head to the side and narrowed her eyes in thought. Levana then straightened up and walked into corcual office.

[OOC: If you feel that action is necessary, Gerkuman, then lock the post.
I thoroughly enjoy this RP, and I apologize to any of the readers that also enjoy it. I am going to defend my players on this. I personally feel that a fifty word post limit is something that should be decided and enforced by the RP creator. Not something that is decided thread wide and forced upon its players.
Again, I am sorry if this decision upsets anyone. I am just very tired and annoyed and don't feel like fighting on the matter.

If necessary I plan to continue this RP in a private forum. Anyone interested may PM me for a link.]

Ah, I know how this topic is going now. You're using it as a way to protest the way I'm leading this forum. Well, I'm afraid I won't give you that satisfaction.

I'm not going to lock this topic. I'll just disciplinary procedures on everyone who continues to break via rules. Because you see, if I gave the choice to the topic creators, no-one would care. It's what happened before I was given the post. And if it's a choice between 'everyone being happy, and the forum being spammy', or the 'forum filled with good RP'S and a few people leaving' then I know what I'd pick. The only thing this reflects upon is you. Have a nice day. :)

[OOC: I'm sorry if you feel there is some sort of rebellion against your leadership going on here, sir. In my mind that is not the case. I am just a very tired roleplayer that doesn't wish to have to count the words of a post that I feel is a sufficient response if only to avoid disciplinary action. I've had to do that before on other forums and it only served to make me weary and no longer want to participate.
You are right. This is only a reflection on me. I just hope that you do not feel you need to hold some sort of grudge against me or any of the people who choose to participate in this or any of my other RPs.]

The woman indeed seem sencere in her emotions. She truly believes she is Miles Edgeworth's wife. However, Draco never took things at face value, and his suspicions of the girl still remain. He'd not be fooled by crocodile tears any more. He had to keep the veil of trust upon himself, though. From what he heard, her story does make sense, along with the reason for their marriage to be kept a secret. After writing her statement down in his notebook, he glanced over at Melissa and addressed her again.

"Mrs. Edgeworth," he started in a calm voice. "If you could, please. When have you noticed your husband becoming detached?"

"Um." Melissa sniffed and straightened her posture. "It started about a week ago. Miles' father had just announced that he was going to leave law and move to Hawaii. It was so unexpected that my poor sweet honey bear ran off to a bar. He only had one glass though. Of brandy, I think. It was brown and in a really pretty bottle. He took the bottle home with him, but he didn't touch it. I think he was meaning to give me the bottle as a present. I collect them, you know." Melissa smiled for a moment. "Then that night he got this phone call. He wouldn't tell me what it was about, but he got this really pale look on his face and he rushed off. He didn't come back home before I had to go to work, but after that he started acting sort of strange. Like he wasn't sure where he was. Then he started to lose things a lot. Little things. Keys, paper clips, pens. He'd get so upset about it though. One morning he even tore up the apartment trying to find one of his ties. He had three other ones just like it, so I don't really know why this one was so important." Melissa pressed her lips together for a moment. "He's just been so stressed out lately, and he can't really bring himself to talk about his problems to anyone. Before all this he used to tell me everything, but now...now I feel like he's just throwing me into the dark like he's done with everyone who's ever loved him..."

Hm...better make a note about the bottle and the phone call, he pondered, scribbling it in his notebook. "Mrs. Edgeworth, I assume you wish to press charges against your husband? If so, I will conduct an investigation imediately to find out the truth. If what you are saying is true, I'll have him arrested."

"No!" Melissa yelled. Her eyes widened in urgency. "I don't want to press charges at all! My Miles is a dear sweet man who'd never want to hurt me! He's just been having a hard time. I understand that. I do." She couldn't hold back the rush of tears streaming down her cheeks. She pulled back in her chair and clutched the bottom of her dress in her hands making the cloth wrinkle. "It was that officer who said that I should, but I changed my mind. I don't want to anymore."

"I...understand." Draco said, slightly shocked by this knew outcome. That oaf Gumshoe's going to hear an earful the next time he speaks to him. "However, there something you should know about, Mrs. Edgeworth. You husband was admitted to the hospital by a friend of his. From what I've been told, your husband, Miles Edgeworth, had a vast amount of drug substance in his system. I've reports that a fire occured at the Edgeworth and Son Lawfirm Office, more than likely arson. Now, I'm sorry to tell you this, ma'me, but I'll still have to place Edgeworth under arrest for possible arson. He will be detained until I can figure out what had accurred. I'd suggest you get some rest, Mrs. Edgeworth, and I'll call you if anything turns up."

"W-what?" Melissa was shocked. She stood up quickly and slammed her palms against the detective's desk. "My Miles would never do anything like that!" She objected. "Those reports are a lie! And...and..." Her voice shook under the strain. "He didn't set that office on fire! I did!" She screamed. "Please, please don't arrest him." She sank down into her seat as she pleaded.
