Greg and Fred started whispering to each other and nodded in agreement about what they were saying. "If they're ok with being searched. Anything that could be a weapon could put you in danger, Miss Rose. Shall we wait for them? Or shall we continue on and hopefully bump into them?"

Satoshi stood up and dropped the phone, forgetting to hang up or take it with him. He started running as quickly as he could to the spot Lida said. Sadly, running was not his forte, and he had to stop at a nearby park. Suddenly, a bullet rushed past his shoulder. Once he realised what happened, Satoshi hid behind a bench and didn't move. He looked for his phone but couldn't find it.

"Someone help!"

Char heard the shout for help and darted over to where the voice came from. She saw that there was someone being shot at. Char stopped for a second and saw the shooter. It was someone on the roof, and she frowned. There was no way she could get up there fast enough, and she didn't have any weapons. Char stalked over to the escape stairs that led up to the building that the shooter was on and quietly climbed it.

The man dropped the gun as he saw Char running his way. He quickly jumped off the top of the roof and rolled, knowing he'd injure himself. But he didn't care, as long as he wasn't caught. He ran to a van and got inside, and the driver drove him off.

Satoshi peeped out from behind the bench and looked around. He seemed unharmed, and it all seemed over. He looked for his saviour. Sadly, he hadn't seen them as he was too busy being a wuss. Some judge you'll be, he thought. What's next, a detective who can't stand blood? The worst part was that it wasn't even that late at night, and yet hardly anyone was around. Then he noticed someone climbing up the emergency exit of the building the assailant was on. "Hey, did you save me?" he shouted.

"...Knowing Satoshi, he's probably already heading to the house," Lida replied with a smile. "We'll meet him there." She realized how there wasn't even so much as breathing on the other end of the phone. Was he okay? Maybe he dropped it out of excitement...
Or maybe he's having a heart attack or seizure right now. You don't know! Lida suddenly found it hard to breathe.
Maybe you should check his place, just to be safe...
But you don't know where he lives! Lida felt herself tremble slightly in frustration, then she sighed and collected herself. "So, are we going or what?" She strode ahead of the officers at the briskest pace she could manage without running.

"Th-thank you," said an astonished Satoshi. Not only was someone trying to KILL him, but someone SAVED him. Then she said something that took him by surprise. He didn't expect the woman to ask "what of it?". "I, I just want to thank you. I'm not that rich, but I'll give you money, or something. Anything to repay you for saving my li-" Then he remembered Lida. "Can we talk later? I just realised I've got an appointment. Here's my name and phone number in case you want to get smething of gratitude from me. Thanks again!" He took a scrap bit of paper out of his pocket and wrote down his name, phone number, and adress. Then he dashed off to meet Lida.

A few minutes later he literally run into Greg. The impact knocked him over, but Greg didn't seem hurt. "I hope that was an accident, sir," said Greg. Satoshi nodded. "I'm...here..to...huff...meet...Lida..." he said out of breath.

"I'm...here...to...huff...meet...Lida..." Lida turned around to see Satoshi lying on the ground in front of Greg and beamed. He was alright after all, but something was slightly off... Nah, it's nothing. Satoshi ran here as soon as I told him where I lived, that's all...
He's on the ground in front of Greg. The only way he could have gotten into that position is if he took... Lida turned her head to see an alleyway. And that is a common shortcut from your house...
Nah, I must be mistaken. If he was coming from my house, he would have ran right past me, not through a questionable alleyway in the dark. Don't over think this...
"This is the man that was going to meet us, Satoshi," Lida said to Fred and Greg. She then bent over and offered her hand to help him up.

Satoshi gleamed at her and took her hand with much enthusiasm. "Thank you. So you must be the police escorts... huff... nice... huff... to meet you." He put out his hand to shake with them after getting up. He then started to think about what happened. Should I tell them about what happened at the park? No, Lida'll worry, and the police will... What will they do? I can't tell them. They won't believe me, and they'll worry too much. I've already been saved anyway, so it's not like it matters. I'll need to thank that lady. Wait, I didn't even ask for her name! Crap! And what if she calls while I'm away? Oh God, I'm screwed. He tried not to show his worrying but he failed. Then Greg and Fred searched him, after introducing themselves to him. Naturally, he did not enjoy this. "I get why you're doing it but... it's intimidating." He looked around. "Can we move on now?"

Lida could tell Satoshi was worrying about something. What was he hiding?
I'll find out soon enough...I just need to be patient.
"Sure we can move on," Lida said. "Thanks for coming, first of all. Sorry for the inconvenience with the searching. If you need anything, let us know and we will try to accommodate." You're doing that rambling thing again. Calm down. "And...Uh...So..." Lida took a deep breath to center herself. "Um...You certainly got here quick. Heh, heh..." She mentally "tsk"ed herself. Why was she suddenly terrible at starting conversation when she was around him?

"I... huff... ran here. Luckily, you live near by. Only a five minute... huff... run. Honestly, I need a sit down." Stoshi took a few deep breaths and grinned at her. "Thanks, I'll only need a glass of water and a seat when I get to your's. I hope we're not too far. It's lucky that I caught up with you here. I was worried I'd have to run... huff puff... more. Great, I'm starting to get my breath back. I'm so unfit." He then suddenly turned around with a burst of paranoia. Luckily, no-one was there. Wh-what was that? Am I becoming paranoid because of the shooting? We need to hurry up. He quickened his pace. He wanted to get to Lida's house ASAP, so there was no risk of being attacked again.

Lida smiled.
"It isn't far," she said simply. "You should walk a little before inactivity, anyway." Satoshi then turned around, and so did Lida. She didn't see anything, but her eye did glance toward the alleyway that she thought Satoshi emerged from.
That's a shortcut to my house...A quick cut through the park on the other side, and we'd be there...But when someone is out to kill me...I might start being afraid of the dark, too. Lida chuckled at her own thoughts, then turned back around to see Satoshi had picked up his pace and passed her.
"Hey, now, I thought you were worn out from running," Lida called with a dopey smile as she walked toward him, walking at the briskest pace she could manage yet again.

"Well, huff, I felt like racing. I hope that's not a problem," said Satoshi as he sped up just to fool her into thinking that. He couldn't let her think something suspicious was up. Suddenly Greg overtook them. "We need someone in front of you to protect you at all times Ms. Rose!" shouted Greg. Satoshi sighed. Then he realised that the race wasn't over, as long as he didn't overtake Greg. "Come on slowpok!" he shouted as he attempted a burst of speed. Then he collapsed out of tiredness. "I'M OK!"

Lida giggled. It was probably a lie...Since when did two adults race? But he put some effort into it and started quickening, which must have been hard for him as he was worn out already... Lida sped to a jog, just enough to catch up to Satoshi without passing him. She didn't want him to go any faster than the pace he was going because...Suddenly, Satoshi collapsed.
"I'M OK!" Lida giggled, crouching down in front of him and offering her hand again.
"I know you don't want to worry me, but don't over exert yourself. I have very limited medical expertise here yet." She laughed slightly. "All I really know is CPR and the Heimlich Manure...Er...Maneuver."

Satoshi grabbed her hand yet again and thanked her. "Yeah, huff, I'll stop. I just, huff, wanted a small, huff, laugh." Suddenly, he got the instinct to turn around again, so he looked behind him. There was a suspicious car going at an incredulously slow speed. Was it following them? "Uhm, Lida, is there, huff, anywhere where we can, huff, stop and take a break on the way to your house? You know, because I'm out of breath, huff, and I think I might have injured myself on the fall." Amazingly enough, he hadn't. But he'd be more than injured if the car people were who he thought they were.

Lida again followed Satoshi's eyes. She saw the figure of a car...It was moving pretty suspiciously slow considering the speed limit. She turned to Satoshi and smiled.
"I actually think the best thing to do would be to go where a car can't follow. This way, if you please, Gentlemen," she said, casually grabbing Satoshi's hand again and turning on the spot, walking towards the alley. "This is actually pretty convenient, for my house is just past this alley, anyway..." She walked at a brisk pace, whispering in Satoshi's ear. "Do not stop, not for a moment. If they fire a shot, chances are it will miss as long as we stay in motion." Could they have been the guys trying to kill her? Maybe she should just accept her fate right there...
No. I can't let anyone close witness such a thing, Lida thought, looking at Satoshi. If I'm going to hand myself over to my potential killer, I gotta do it when no one else is around. It's the only way I can be sure no one will stop me.

The car drove past, somehow not noticing the short cut they took. It then sped up, as it had nothing to follow. "Lida, thanks. You.. you're a-" He was interrupted. "Can we stop the dramatics and hurry up?" asked Greg. "That was dangerous. We need to get you to your house ASAP, Miss Rose. And I assume Satoshi here will be coming too?" Satoshi was about to answer but Greg said: "I was asking Miss Rose."

We do, after all, have two police officers to help us. No need to thank me." If it wasn't for me, you wouldn't be in any danger, anyway...
"It was dangerous, yes, but it would have been even more 'dangerous' to keep going the way we were," Lida responded. "And yes, Satoshi will be coming with us. Now, my house is actually just through this alley, so this will be more expedient." You've never traveled this way before. What if you're wrong?
I can tell that I'm right. Lida waited a moment, allowing Greg to get in front of her, before she started walking again.

Greg quickly overtook Lida. Suddenly Satoshi grabbed Lida's hand softly. He didn't realise what he was doing, he just felt it was the right thing to do. "You seem worried. D-don't worry. We'll both be safe with these guys. And your brother told you? Hmmmm..." Satoshi didn't believe in things like that, but he had never experienced death before so he didn't know. "Good to know your house is down the alley. It'll be a good shortcut."

A slight jostling of the bed stirred Bry from her sleep. She always had been a light sleeper, and wasn't used to sharing a bed with anyone. Opening her eyes slowly, she bleariky blinked the sleep out of her eyes, taking in the features of the man next to her.

The memories of the previous night rushed back and she smiled to herself, stretching where she lay and rubbing her eyes. "...Morning."

"I slept well. For once," Bry added, grinning at Chase. Blinking more sleep out of her eyes, she forced herself upright, stretching again before swinging her legs over the side of the bed.

"You?" she said, getting up to retrieve a hairbrush.

"I slept great," Chase said, with a big stretch. "I don't even remember sleeping. I just kinda passed out." He stood up from the bed and walked over to Bry, placing his hands at her sides and kissing her neck softly. "I'm still feeling kinda fuzzy though. Too much sedative, I guess."

Sung yawned after gettin out of his bed. After checking himself in the mirror, he washed himself and went out of his apaprtment into a nearby café where he ordered a coffee and a sanwhich.

Blushing slightly at the unexpected contact, Bry cranes her neck backwards to see Chase's face. "You did have quite a lot of sedatives," she said, kissing his cheek. "Will you be alright?"

Bry laughed, twisting out of Chase's grip to grab her hairbrush, pulling it through her hair methodically. "It's not my fault you were too tired to keep your eyes open. Well, it might have been." Checking her hair in the mirror above her chest of drawers, she turned back to Chase, hands on hips, a smile on her face. "Breakfast?"

"Ah I see. Who's safety are you worried about then?" He kept walking until he suddenly saw a house. "Is th-that yo-your hoouuuuse?" Suddenly, he lost his confidence right there. Where had that sudden burst of it come from? He didn't know. And I probably never will... He started worrying and sweating. "So-sorry, I'm somehow becoming sh-shy a-ag-again..." Suddenly, he felt his heart beating quickly. It must be whenever he felt something specific for, or about, her. Was she worrying about me? Is that why I'm reacting like this?
