Chase heard the door open and stood up from the bed. "You look great," he commented, walking over to give her a little peck on the cheek. "We good to go?"

"Thanks." The kiss made Bry smile, and she took a step forwards, taking Chase's hand to lead him to the front door. She paused as they left the apartment, turning to lock the door behind them before squeezing Chase's hand, feeling the contrasting largeness of it against her small one.

Chase followed Bry to the elevator and pressed the "down" button. When the door opened, he stepped inside, pulling Bry with him. He pressed the "G" buttona and hummed along to the elevator music churned out from the little speakers on the ceiling.

Bry wrinkled her nose as Chase hummed along to the music. "I hate the music in these elevators," she explained, grateful as always when the lift ground to a halt. As the doors opened, she led Chase through the lobby and back into the outside world, taking a deep breath of the morning air.

Chase gave her a strange look. "I love this music! It's so calm. I need something like that," he said. Stepping out of the elevator, he sighed wistfuly at all the cars driving by him. He could name every one, and he would drool over every motorcycle. It was times like these that made Chase wish he had a car of his own.

"Um, Bry, do you have a car?" he asked.

Bry looked up at the strange question, seeing the wistful look on Chase's face. "Yeah, I have a car." She smiled. "Want to see it?" She could tell he was a car fanatic - if so, he'd be disappointed by HER car.

Smiling at his enthusiasm, Bry walked around the side of the building, beckoning Chase. Just behind the apartments was a small car park. She pointed over at her cute green Volkswagen bug. "That's my baby," she said proudly.

Chase's smile turned to a perplexed grin, then a frown of confusion. "Punch buggy," he muttered under his breath and punched his own arm. Not what I expected. Nowhere near what I expected, he thought dejectedly. Nevertheless, he asked, "How fast can it go?"

Despite herself, Bry laughed at Chase's childish excitement and slipped into the passenger's seat, dropping the keys into Chase's oustretched hand before buckling herself in tightly. There was a reason why he'd seemed uneasy when she asked about his license.

It's ok that your jumpy I watched the grudge and couldn't be in the dark for a week", Lauren continued to smile until she realised she made herself embarresed. "Grudge?" Ben recalled studying the film himself to learn more of the Japanese folklore of spectres. While the concept was accurate, the story was rather rediculas. "Ghost of that kind are rare in hauntings," he explained. "But mostly the violent ones are demons, not ghost..." He realised his explaination was quite helpful and decided to drop the subject.

She lives overseas now with her stepfather, a defense attorney himself. Last I heard from her, she's planning to take the Bar Exame this year." Lauren accepted his help as he help her stand back up she started apologising profusely, when she noticed the bystanders. When she was fully standing she brushed herself off and gave a small smile.

Lauren smiled as she was being lead by Ben, he was a really nice guy. When they sat down at the booth, Ben spoke up "You know this is the first time I ever came into this place, What do you want? It's my treat." Lauren jumped a little realising he had spoken, "Really its quite wonderful, they make great mochas."
Lauren closed her eyes and ran her finger over the menu and pointed, "Looks like I am having a chocolate milkshake"

"Yeah, water sounds good to me, too," Lida said. Then, she looked at Fred ((?)) and Greg, who moved to their posts once Satoshi finished talking. She wondered what she should get them?
"Er...If you two officers want anything, feel free to ask for it," she added. She caught how Satoshi shivered and looked down at his knees, so, since she was standing anyway...She grabbed one of Satoshi's hands.
"Hey, it's alright. We're safe now. I put a lot of money into installing security systems into this house," she explained. Then, she smiled. "It's a shame I don't have blackcurrant juice...I'll get your water now." She walked into the kitchen and poured two glasses of water before emerging back into the living room and sipping.
"Well, where to begin...?" She looked around. "I have a lot of enemies, despite my young age. Does that come as a shock to you?"

"Okay, hey waitress," he called out. The young woman walked over, ready to take thier order. "I'd like a medium caramel frappachino, extra on the foam, and a plate of those fresh baked cookies I smelt coming into the café. And for the young lady, a glass of chocolate milkshake." The waitress wrote the order down and smiled. "It'll be with you in a few minutes.

After she left there was a moment of silence for the two. Ben glanced around, drumming his fingers on the table. Guess since they're waiting, he could start a new topic of conversation. "So, Lauren, do you have any hobbies? While I'm not trying to learn all I can about the paranormal, I like to tinker with electronics."

Ben's face lit upon hearing her offer. "Oh, I'd love to," he said. He had a great weakness for pastry sweets, considering his order for a whole plate of baked cookies. "There's nothing I love more than a delicious home baked caked. Pies, cookies, I love all kinds of pastries." He paused, making a note not to stear conversations toward himself if possible. "And if you ever have any problems with your computer, television, dvd player...anything really. I'm more than happy to help you with it."

Lauren smiled even though she had forgotten what he had said (Accidentally), Then suddenly their orders where infront of them. Lauren took a long sip of her milkshake and made a mental note 'next time ask for more chocolate', Suddenly the smell of caramell and cookies hit her nose. "They smell really good"

Lida hung her head.
"Yes, the murder was most likely planned for me," she answered. She took a sip of water before continuing. "Thanks for the compliment, but it doesn't change the fact that I have enemies. It all started three years ago...I was sixteen then. My family lived in a pretty bad neighborhood, the kind where everyone had a gun and knew how to use it. Break-ins were fairly commonplace. ...It finally happened to us. I was sleeping when I heard my sister scream from downstairs...I grabbed my gun and charged down there. It was the fastest I've ever moved without falling. When I got downstairs, I saw someone holding my sister at gunpoint. I pulled out my own gun and aimed it at him...
"'Don't move!' I shouted. He turned and faced me. I hoped that stalled him enough that my sister could escape, but she was too terrified to move...He laughed in my face, then turned his head...His front was still to me, but his arm was still pointed at her...And his finger moved closer to the trigger, so I pulled mine without thinking...Got him right in the chest...Killed him instantly. And that was when the police came...See, apparently, my sister had called them from a hiding place, but he found her because my sister isn't exactly quiet. I was caught red-handed, as it were." She averted her eyes.
"I pled justified self-defense. I lied to the judge and jury, keeping my sister out of the story completely...My attorneys told me to do so...Not only was it not justified self-defense if I was killing for her sake, but it protected her from any ties to the poor man's death...But she didn't think I should have lied. She got angry at me because she is an honest person and hates liars...She and my parents left the courtroom together, and that was the last I saw of them...My parents were killed in a car crash the very next day. My sister's body was never found...She's probably out there somewhere...Anyway, my brother decided to look after me. He could see why I lied, and agreed with my decision wholeheartedly." Lida then looked Satoshi in the eyes. "It wasn't long before we found out the man I killed was a member of a gang, who wanted to get rid of me for killing a member of their 'family.' So...Then, to get protection, I joined another gang...But it didn't work out.
"You see, I could never be a criminal. The very first time I had to do a crime, I literally felt sick to my stomach...So, I left. Now that gang's also after my blood. My brother and I, we've been moving from place to place, changing names and appearances so we wouldn't be killed...And now that we finally settled down somewhere, this happens..." She stopped, gulped, took another sip of water, and added, "Two years prior, I was responsible for the arrest of one man...he was eligible for parole a few days ago, so he might be wanting revenge on me, too..." She then cracked a small smile. "Then there are the various ex-girlfriends of my brother's, my two ex-boyfriends, and the occasional jealous college student. As you can see, I've accumulated quite the fan base..."

Ben new the order was coming from the addictive smell of cookies filling his nostril. He could help but drool slightly at the sight of the plate. So fresh...sooo delicious! He had to control himself though. He didn't want to seem like a pig to Lauren. He smiled thanking the waitress, then took a sip of his frappachino. A nice blend, he thought. The caramel cream doesn't overwhelm the rich brew, and yet is enough to blend out the bitterness. He reached for one of the cookies and took a bite.

He was nearly overwhelmed then and there...control. You have to stay in control! He swallowed, taking in a deep breath to calm himself. "They smell really good," he heard Lauren say.

"You're more than welcome to them as well," he offered. It'll be less like for him to lose control that way too.
