"Sheila? She's in trouble, too?" Edward asked, surprised. "Her office isn't far from the police station."
"Something tells me her office is empty," Sandra said, slyly. "We should check the police department. She'll probably run there if she was being attacked..."

"Aaah!" the man screamed, covering his eyes as Sheila sprayed as much pepper spray as she could into them before running away, taking the man's gun with her. "STOP THAT WOMAN!" he screamed. Sheila ran into another officer, who pulled out his gun at the same time she pulled out hers.
"Don't make me pull the trigger!" Sheila bluffed. She could never do something like that, but she became aware that more police officers were gathering behind her. She pretended to have pulled the trigger, making the sound the gun would have made without moving her lips. The man in front of her screamed and fell down, believing he got shot, as Sheila fled out the doors of the police station.

Where do I go? Where will I be safe? Sheila thought, her mind racing. She had no clue what to do as everyone out in the street looked like they wanted to kill her. She ran towards the very first car she saw, hoping the people inside would give her a ride, as it was, she thought, her only hope.
"Help!" she screamed, running towards Mira's car.

Sandra flinched as she heard her friend screaming. "That's Sheila alright," she said.

Edward swung open the door immediately.
"Please, sir," Sheila said between pants. "I request a ride away from here..."
"Sheila!" Edward shouted. Sheila sighed with relief as Edward scooped her up and carried her into the car, completely ignoring the gunshots that weren't very far away.
"Is there anyone else we need to pick up?" Sandra asked casually.

"Ma...He's talking about..." Sandra said. "About someone who we don't need to concern ourselves with. She will be okay. In fact, I'd worry more about the people chasing her. Anyway, Dan. Dan...I think Mike saved him already."

"I don't understand, Mike," Dan said. "If all these people are in danger, why are we just sitting around?"
"I have left the task of saving everyone in very capable hands," Mike replied. "Besides, we're safe here. Except, of course, for the men right outside the door. Take my hand." Dan grabbed one of Mike's hands. "Here we go!"

Sheila and Edward were quite surprised as Dan and Mike landed in a heap on top of them.
"Hello, Mike and Dan," Sandra said casually. "Nice of you to drop in."

"I doubt he'll be there," Sandra said. "Our best chance of finding him would be to go to his mansion."
"Richard? He's the one behind all this?" Edward asked.
"It figures," Sheila said. "This has the stink of Mafia all over it."

"Hello?" Veronika's sweet and innocent voice asked. Sandra was stunned for a second. To think someone who was once so close to Sandra...Was an assassin.
"Hello," responded Sandra's distorted voice. "I am calling for your...Services."
"Okay. What's your name?" Veronika asked. Sandra didn't respond right away. The obvious, right thing to do was to help Mira trap Veronika, but could she really do that to someone she once thought of as her own daughter?
"What do you mean, what is my name?" Sandra asked, seemingly infuriated. "I do not just give out my name willy-nilly to anyone! You don't ask for anyone's name, kid. You ask what they're called by! Think!"
"...Right," Veronika said. "So, what are you called by?"
"I am called by Jade. And what are you called by?" Sandra asked.
"Veronika," the assassin answered. "Veronika DeKiller."
"Now that that's settled, I'd like to call a hit on Mr. Richard Castro. That bastard owes me something. I deserve to be in charge of the mafia, not him!"
"I'm afraid I cannot do it," Veronika said after hesitating. "That man...He is not to be trifled with by anyone. If you'd like, I can transfer you to Shelly DeKiller. He's the one to talk to about killing powerful people."
"That's okay," Sandra blurted. "I'll call back later. I have more important matters to attend to."

"She refused to do it," Sandra said after hanging up. "She told me Shelly DeKiller would be more ideal for that kind of mission."

We visited them a lot. In many ways, her parents were like our second ones...And I came to think of her as a relative. ...I loved it when she called me 'Aunt Sandy.' It was the cutest thing...I haven't seen either her or her parents since we moved out."

"Her last name wasn't DeKiller...It was...Stearns. Veronika Stearns. I can't imagine why she would become an assassin. And Shelley is a DeKiller," Sandra said. "I remember working several cases that involved suicides that were really not suicides at all, and finding his calling card every time. But he could never be caught. We've even cornered him a few times, and he still managed to get away..."

"...Veronika is a DeKiller now. Because she's young, she isn't as skeptical as she should be. But there is a reason why she hasn't been arrested yet. I'm willing to wager she's an escape artist by now," Sandra said. "The assassin isn't the one who will be prosecuted for this. They're just providing the coward's way out of killing someone. It's the one who hired them that is who to blame. Arresting Veronika won't mean anything since there are more assassins than her. In fact, I think it will be likely that even if we manage to catch her, we'll have a bunch of assassins after us. I don't know about you, but I'm not sure that's really a risk we should take yet."

"We'll wait on that, but when we're ready, I can and will arrest her for the crime of murder and Richard for murder by proxy, including the other charges against him." Mira said. "I never let guilty defendants win a case with such petty details as that. If it was intentional, age is of no importance. It may determine the punishment of the individual, but even that's something I watch out for.... Is that the mansion over there?" Mira asked, referring to the mansion coming over the horizon.

It took a few minutes for everyone in the back to finally decide the best method to get them all out of there without injuring themselves.

"Richard's definitely here," Sandra said. I don't think that Edward, Dan, or Sheila should join us. Mike might be okay, but I'm not sure about the other two. Richard has a lot of security, and I don't want to risk the other three's lives on what he has set up...

"Mike," Sandra said. "What do you see?"

There was a few moment's hesitation as Mike's face gradually got paler. "N-nothing," he lied.
"Why don't you stay with them?" Sandra asked. Mike let down his mind shields.
But, if I do, you will... Mike thought.
And if you don't? Sandra shot back.
They will...I'll stay if that is what you want...
Don't worry about us, Sandra thought.
But you will both...
We'll contact you if we need help, Sandra interrupted. Even though Mike put his mind shields back up, Sandra could tell exactly what he was thinking.
It will be too late.
Maybe you're wrong. Maybe we won't make the same decisions you see us making.
My visions have not been wrong before. Mike walked over to Sandra and grabbed her arm. Sandra grew pale as she watched, but did not pull away.
Stay with them, she insisted. They definitely need you more.

"Great news, I'm saying with you guys," Mike said as Sandra walked inside the mansion.
"What did you see for them?" Dan asked. Mike smiled weakly.
"I'd be more worried about ourselves," he replied.

Sandra smiled.
I really can't direct you to his room since it's awfully hard to give visual references, she thought. Besides, I think it's best if we stick together... Then, she remembered the vision Mike had. They were, indeed, together. I mean, I think he'll be at the first room to the right after you take a left at the end of this hall and take a right at the end of that hall. I'll go the other way. See if we can trap him.

Sandra frowned, apparently debating what to do.
Deal with him on your own time, she finally thought, nodding. That is the only way to ensure safety... She walled off the part where she thought, Or, at least, yours. She hoped the very weak shield she put up would be enough to stop Mira from reading that thought as she started strolling down the corridor.

Mira walked quietly down the hall that Sandra referred to. At the end of that first hall, Mira turned left, into another hallway, maintaining his cautious pace. Continuing cautiously, Mira turned right when there was a right available. Mira looked to his right and saw a door. Before entering, Mira ducked down and listened for any sounds on the other side of the door, as to confirm the presence of Richard or any other activity that might be going on in that room.

"I gave you my orders, now go," Richard said.
"As you command, Mr. Castro," a man replied. The door swung open and the so far nameless man walked down the hall. Whether or not Mira manage to hide, the man was completely oblivious as he continued walking, down the hallway, only to the left, not the way Mira came from.

Sandra turned right at the first hall, her footsteps getting heavier as she walked. Something was definitely not right. It was still and quiet, too much so to be peaceful. In fact, it was eerie how still it was. Nothing was moving or making a sound, aside from Sandra's footsteps.

"He gave the order," a man outside whispered. Suddenly a hail of bullets came raining down towards Dan, Edward, Sheila, and Mike, but they froze in mid-air as Mike's forehead creased with concentration. Then, all the bullets came flying back in the directions they came from. Some were disarmed, some were shot in the leg or the arm, but none were mortally wounded and none were killed.
"Brace yourselves," Mike said. "There's more."

Mira peeked through the already open door to see if he could see Richard - or if Richard might see him. If he could see Richard, but Richard isn't in a position to spot him, Mira carefully entered the room, slowly closing the door behind him (unless Richard might of noticed, in which case, Mira closed it most of the way), and hiding behind something nearby (if he had to, carefully put one of Richard's coats ontop of himself, if applicable).

If Richard might spot him, Mira would back to his position and waited for either Richard or that unnamed guy (or whoever might come by) to leave/enter the room. In either one of those cases, Mira would put his mouth over whoever passed by, then restrained that person fully, and if it was Richard, lead him back to his room. Elsewise, Mira kept that person nearby, silenced with his hands.

Richard noticed a flicker of movement as Mira dove behind something.
"I can tell you are here," he said. "You really aren't that sneaky. One of Sandra's puppets, I presume?"

Sandra saw a man walking towards her, holding out his gun. The lights flickered, and she was surrounded by darkness. When she could see again, she saw that out of every door was at least one gun (she couldn't get a good number because she only saw them as gray blurs) and the man was right in front of her.
"Mr. Castro would like to see you," he said. Sandra shifted her eyes, analyzing the situation. I have to stay away from Mira, she thought desperately as she dove through the one door which nothing was protruding out of. She regretted this decision as the floor under her disappeared. She fell for what felt like ages before landing painfully on her feet, which fell out from under her.

Mira did not respond. He waited for Richard to evaluate the situation. If he failed to do so, Mira waited for any other type of response from someone else that might come into the room. Mira put his hand on his gun, in case he needed to use the gun in a reaction to a possible event.

"Ah. Still hiding I see," Richard said. "You're not the first one to try to assassinate me." He drank some more wine and continued. "I'm a lot stronger and smarter that most men are. That's the only thing Sandra was good for." He chuckled. Then, a man barged into the room.
"Sir, she...She went into the room. The one where the floor is actually a hologram."
"Hm...I thought she'd be smarter than to fall for that," Richard said. "No matter."
"What if she-?"
"I did not get this far on what ifs. If she miraculously survives, then I still have the person in this room that I can use against her. No matter how insignificant the person is to her, she can't stand the thought of anyone dying."
"There's more: the men positioned outside failed."
"Okay, then. Bring out the next phase."
"Yes, sir," the man said before doing an about-face and walking out of the room.

Mira held his position. The man didn't see him and Richard might as well be talking to himself. But focusing on Richard too much would endanger him. Mira kept alert, with hand at gun.

"It is a shame really," Richard said. "You, whoever you are, might be the only one in that merry group to survive. I mean, Sandra's as good a dead where she is and your friends, well, let's just see how they do against helicopters." He laughed evilly. "So, are you going to come out of hiding sometime today, or do I need to find you?"

The helicopters left the helipad and flew after Mike and the group.
"Helicopters. I knew it," Mike said as missiles and bullets came flying towards the group. Everything froze in the air once again as Mike tried to concentrate.
"Go!" he shouted at the dumbfounded group. "I don't have enough energy to redirect all of this, so go." Sheila, Dan, and Edward ran away.

Mira remained silent. He held is position. It sounded like Richard himself would come over to search for Mira, so Mira was ready to take Richard down. He was prepared for the possibility of someone else doing it for him. Mira had been ready to deal with being shot long before he got involved with this mess.

Mira did not respond. He did not move. He did not make any thoughts about the matter. He knew what he was doing and he's going to do it. Surely Richard needs to leave the room to get things like water and whatnot. Mira trained himself to deal with such patience operations.
