Markus gripped at his stomach, gasping for air as he tried to get himself up. He took a few breaths, shaking it off.

"Am I free to go now? Or do I need to bust some more skulls?" he said, "I'm not one to run, but it's no fun when I'm outnumbered to this extent. At this point it's more of a nuisance."

Chase still frowned. "A noble thief is a paradox. I've never been good at anything but stealing, so I used it to try and help." He sighed, smiling a little and looking back at Migoto. Chase took the sandwich appreciatively and bit into it. "Delicious!" he exclaimed, mouth full. Realizing his terrible manners, he picked up a napkin and covered up his mouth. He wanted to say sorry, but waited until after he had finished his bite. "You're good at making sandwiches," he said after swallowing. "Thank God you can cook, 'cuz I can't for my life."

A lump caught in Chase's throat. "K-Kids?" he asked, his voice now hoarse. He ran a shaking hand through his hair and closed his eyes tightly. Chase loathed children, but more than that he feared having a child, afraid that it would take after his kleptomaniacal habits. "I... I can't have kids," he stammered.

Migoto just started to cry. She was just so upset with herself. It seemed like everything she ever planned on doing was ruined because she stole that stupid gem. She could have went to college, become a doctor... No. She decided to "test her skills" and have herself branded as a criminal.

Chase groaned and trekked into the forest, towards the place Migoto's voice came from. After a few minutes, he found her sitting down in a little grove. He approached her and sat down next to her. "You gotta stop this whole 'running off by yourself' thing. It kinda defeats the purpose if you can't find your way back," he teased, then got a little more serious. "What's wrong? Why did you just storm off like that?"
