"I was holding the rolling pin because I was in confusion; my boss was dead! Murder that's what I thought. I looked round the room and saw the rolling pin, then I picked it up so I could examine it - I picked it up without thinking. I couldn't do anything, I had no time to call the police. Diana had come in and then I wwas shocked and in a complete daze. I hope all of this makes sense." Then Rita realised it, the real motive that could be plausible; a reson to kill him, "Luigi, he said I was a good pizzeria and that when he died the pizza place would go to me. I've always wanted it, I always say to Margie, one day that pizza place might even become mine. That's what those police people will say. It's in Luigi's will. I'm sorry for not metioning it earlier but I guess I just forgot."
(thought of a motive, is it good enough?)

Maxwell examined Rita's answer. Of course, he had to doubt. He could never stay with one side's truth: The only truth doesn't take sides, and all sides will want to change the truth for their own benefit. But truth always stands. That was Maxwell's first principle, always to doubt, in the most neutral possible way.
He wouldn't comment anything on Rita's answers. He would just keep those comments for himself, and then compare her answers to other people's.
"I see... OK, Rita, I'll ask a couple more questions and then leave, yes?"

Diana walked over to the area where Luigi was found. "Hey Robyn, come have a look at this! Is that a ........ footprint? There, in the flour on the floor." She called to Robyn, all while squatting on the floor. "It isn't my shoe, and I don't think that it was yours. I don't remember anyone going over there when the police came, either.''

"I went there because the I wanted to show my friends and my sister what the pizza place was like, I remember tht the table we sat on was the one where the salt had spilt. I brought my sister Margie, my friend Robyn and her assistant Diane. I had invited Taggy to the join us but he refused. But I only left the table twice. Once to go to the loo and the second to get the right pizza. When I got to the kitchen Luigi was already dead. I never killed him. Honest" replied Rita who had a sound of worry in her voice. I hope Maxwell can prove me innocent

Maxwell stood up, started walking side to side. He was thinking, there were two possibilities, according to what Rita said: Either Rita did it to get the pizza shop, or somebody else did it to frame Rita. But, if neither Luigi nor Rita had any "enemies", then... The only likely motive so far was Rita's...
"OK, so, I'll talk to Margie about the case right now, and then go to the crime scene. Don't worry, Rita, I'll make sure Luigi's real killer is put where you are now, and that you won't have to see that glass from the other side. I promise I'll find who did this to Luigi and to you."
Maxwell took his hat and rain coat. He saw through the window of the visitor's room. It was still raining.
"Goodbye, Rita. Take care". He opened the door, and looked back at the down-looking Rita being taken by the guard. He closed the door, and started looking for Margie. He heard someone coughing behind him. It was her, Margie, Rita's sister, with an impacient look on her face.
"Oh, hi, Margie. Have you been waiting here all this time?"

She sat and looked to the floor in sorrow and in complete daze. She didn't even notice anyone come in...

Suddenly, the door inside Rita's "cubicle" opened. Klavier entered and said, "Ok Fräulein, time for questioning." He took Rita into a small room with cement walls. There was a single camera in the corner opposite the door. Another officer was already waiting in the room, apparently ready to act as "court reporter". Since Rita was told her Miranda rights, anything she said could and would be used against her in the court of law. She had already spoken to her attorney, and had waived the right to have one present during questioning. ((hope that's ok, Purple Angel. If it isn't, just tell me))
"Ok, please state your name for the record." ((first name is fine)) Klavier said, leading Rita to her seat. He sat down across the table from her, and the other officer had a chair in the corner in front of the door.

Fives minutes later, they arrived, and took a sit. They ordered two hot, simple coffees and started talking.
"OK, Margie", Maxwell started. "If you don't mind, I would need to ask you some questions, and I need a honest answer. Is that OK?"
((Don't worry, MaimJay, Maxwell could question Taggy when he gets to the crime scene.))

"Yeah." the officer said, not looking up towards the prosecutor.
Klavier sat back in his chair, crossed his legs, and let out a long sigh. "I know what you are thinking." he said, not breaking eye-contact with Rita. "It is what everyone thinks whom I question. You are thinking, 'He's the one who's going to put me in jail!' Well that's only true if you are guilty. "Hey Robyn, look what that footprint is infront of. The back door! Maybe the killer escaped through there!" Diana said, barely able to contain her excitement at using a technique Robyn had showed her. 'When you find something that looks like evidence, always look in the general vicinity for anything else that could connect it to the case you are working on.' Robyn had said.

"Thank you for giving me the chance to explain," began Rita, "I walked inside the kitcen and saw Luigi dead, I dropped the pizza and screamed I thoughtWho, what could of done this to him? the killer was gone by the time I arrived; must of gone through the back door and next to Luigi was the rolling pin. I was in a daze and so I picked it up to look at it closely - I couldn't believe that the rolling pin killed, it just didn't seem real, that Luigi was dead. Then someone came. Everything is such a blur one thing led to another and before I knew it I was, am here being questioned about my murder of my favourite boss."

The door to the room opened, and an officer stepped inside. He handed Klavier something that looked like a manilla folder. After the officer left, Klavier opened it.
"Oh, and according to the autopsy report," apparently that is what he just received, "Luigi died as a result of hemorrhage due to blunt trauma to the head. In other words, hit with a blunt object. Now, I do believe that should ring some bells, ja? Remember your late boss, Raúl? He died the exact same way! Quite the coincidence, eh Fräulein? And speaking of coincidences, how do you know that you were in the restroom almost the entire time the murder was taking place? How do you know the murder wasn't before or after your stop at the restroom?
