Leon sat back down on the chair he was sitting in before Mara called. He sighed as she went into a long song and dance about he never calls here anymore. Leon put his feet up on the wall and held his head in his hands. Though he'd never admit it, Leon loved Mara still. He'd wonder about her constantly, but whenever he'd get worked up enough to try and call her he'd chicken out. Mara went silent for a second which allowed Leon to gather enough thoughts together to try and say something.

Everything went silent for a little to long. Leon wasn't sure what happened. He didn't know why he had to let her go, or even how he let himself do it. Then Leon snapped back into reality.

"I'm not clear on all the details but I guess you could say things were bad," Riss answered. "From what the rumors have been saying, most of the inhabitants of the town just disappeared overnight. Any humans left were corpses. As for what caused it...well, that's becoming a popular mystery slash potential urban legend. Some people say it was caused by a new monster or that aliens abducted them or even that they were fleeing from whatever created those remaining corpses. The bottom line is, no one seems to know what caused it. It could be anything.

"And maybe," she smiled impishly, "for all I know you're actually part of the cause of six months ago and the reason you've offered to escort me to Midgar is to make me disappear."

The scanner picked up two people walking in the same path. "Looks like we got company and by the looks of them.... they too are heading to Midgar, the place where it all happened." He accidently hit the mic button. "Those Deepground bastards are gonna pay. Damn those Deepground they will all go to hell for causing me to go into a coma for 6 whole monthsever since they attacked Midgar and took my friends!" He said into the mic not knowing that it was on.

"The Mic is on you do know that right?" Tonberry said and then saw Cactuar by the mic.

"YOU WILL DIE IN SEVEN DAYS!!!" Cactuar said and then Tonberry just punch Cactuar.

Wait a sec if the mic is on I'll communicate with those two people.]/i] Anthony thought. "Hey you two people, that are heading to Midgar, wanna hitch a ride, its totally free." Anthony said as he hit a button that allwos the Ship to come out of the road, as it appeared on the road he hits the Van button as it turned into a Van. [i]Man my friends and ym ideas were so clever man if only they were still here. He thought.

Riss smiled in spite of herself. He was the one with more reason to be uneasy of her than her of him. She didn't voice this though, instead saying, "I'm not against the idea, it's actually kind of sweet of you. After all, you're the one who would be going forty minutes out of your way-"

"Those Deepground bastards are gonna pay. Damn those Deepground they will all go to hell for causing me to go into a coma for 6 whole monthsever since they attacked Midgar and took my friends!" A loud voice echoed from above.

Those words instantly cut through Riss' thoughts. She realized her eyes had gone wide in surprise but was secretly glad the sudden appearance of that thing in the sky could act as a cover for her real reason.

No one but those that were there that day should have known of Deepground's involvement. If there was one thing Deepground had learned to be good at it was covering their tracks. No one should have known about what truly occurred because Deepground didn't leave witnesses. Somehow, someone had escaped the net.

"The Mic is on you do know that right?" Another voice came from the overhead.

""YOU WILL DIE IN SEVEN DAYS!!!" A third cried, promptly followed by the sound of someone smacking something.

Riss' initial shock faded enough for her to feel withering annoyance at whoever was up above her and Rein. Maybe they were just idiots and the ranting about Deepground was just a mad man's rant.

And maybe I'm a saint, she thought to herself. She thought about the stilettos that rested against her forearms in their wrist sheaves.

The first voice returned, calmer than before. "Hey you two people, that are heading to Midgar, wanna hitch a ride, its totally free."

Riss' jaw dropped as the form above descended upon them. Her hat almost went flying but she did the first natural thing through instinct. She snatched her camera from its strap and managed to snap a few quick shots as it began unbelievably shifting from and aircraft to a van.

She slowly pulled the lens away from her face and threw Rein a nervous half-joking look. "I think that tops you in the potentially evil scale."

Did she just took pictures of the ship??? I wonder if she could be a spy....Anthony thought. "State your name and your occupation you two. Because its for a good cause and if I find out one of you are working for Deepground, I will beat the living crap out of you." He said over the mic.

Tonberry was busy hitting Cactuar while Chobi goes over to the mic. "KWEH!" real loud into the mic.

The timing of the voice came almost perfect, things were getting deep between the two, deep as in, mystrious.

"Hmm so you want to know who we are? Thats a little rude of you, how do we know YOUR not of deepground if your assuming we might be?"

Rein wasn't a fan of being acused or the thought of possibly being acused of anything.

"Threating to come down and "beat the living crap out of you" Really isnt a good way to introuduce yourselfs, clearly if we were of deepground we would lie to your face to get the ride! "

Rein stood there with his arms crossed. He may or may not have been in deepground, but sometimes his mouth got him into trouble, Rein was defending his pride and self being.

The more Rislan heard the newcomer speak, the more dark thoughts passed behind her feigned sheepish-looking smile.

He was close. So close. She could probably-no, she could-close the gap and slit his throat before either of the two realized she had drawn her stilettos. If he turned, she could jam it at the back of his head where the neck connects to the spine. If he dodged to the side....She kept running through the possibilities in her mind. Rein was a third party, and so were the ones in the van but she was confidant she could kill this man that knew too much.

But, one thing caught her attention.

She couldn't recall hearing anything about 'scientists'. And exactly, what was meant by 'remodeled body'?

This 'minor detail' was getting interesting.

"I'm a little confused," Riss said, pulling at her hat. "You drop out of nowhere, first inviting then accusing us, all while dropping all this information. It sounds story worthy-maybe even fantastic enough that my editor wouldn't believe it-but what's this 'Deepground'? That name sounds like a bad rock band."

This girl.... why does it feel like I have seen her before..... But this scent in the air is idetical to Deepground but then again I could be mistakenHe thought and then sigh, :Deepground is a group or an organization that tried to rid this world 100 years ago by summoning Omega. But now Deepground has come back but this time, they are here to take over this world. They will kill anybody or anything that will get in thier way. I on the otherhand got in their way and nearly died trying to protect my friends..... And the results...." He said as he took his cape off and took his left sleeve off and glove as well to show his left arm auto-mailed. "This was just 1/4 of the price I had to pay the rest were remodeled they found my missing limbs except my left arm they did thier best to put them back to getehr but they later found out thatmy body was rotting so they did soemthing else to me the rest after that is just a big blur.... I don't remember that much after that." He said as he put his sleeve and cape back on. "So ou wanna come on a ride its safer and it will take us to Midgar." He said as he walked back to the Van. "Oh by the way woman, your scent, it reminds me of Deepground. But then again I can be wrong." He gets in the Van and shut the Driver's door he opened his phone and took a look ast his pictures and search for the picture of him and his friends. Don't worry guys, I'll save you.

Leon sighed, conversations with Mara were always so complicated. It always felt like his stomach was doing belly flops, and his heart was trying to shrink into something smaller.
"It's Squall..." he muttered a correction under his breath, as she sobbed on the other end of the line. Leon stood in silence leaning against the railing, holding his head in his free hand. After a long silence and Mara's weeping becoming less than a sniffle. Leon finally got the nerve to speak.
"How is the weather in Wutai now a days..." he asked fishing for an excuse to say anything.

"My first duty is to the people of Midgar. In a time of crisis I am the one they turn too." Squall was proud to be a citizen solider. Dedication meant giving up everything to serve Midgar. The things he wanted to do, and the people he loved were a few of those things. Mara was no exception, and while it may have been Sei that drove him too be a solider in the first place and give up Mara, Leon held steadfast to the choice he made.

And no I don't regret my offer, if you are some "evil" thing it isnt my business, if your not attacking me or someone I care for then It's your life. Just becareful, This guy over here might attack you"

Rein laughs a little not finding Anthony intemidating at all, It wasn't that Rein was cocky, it was just how Anthony presented himself and changed his tune every time he spoke, it made Rein feel this was more of a joke then anything else.

Squall though about arguing. but what was the use? She'd come anyway.
"If you happen to be passing through this way... Outpost is always open to passing travelers..." he said. Inside he really wished she would come. He hadn't seen Mara since they went their separate ways and that was almost a year ago, before Deepground reappeared.
"It would be... nice to see you again." Leon said, actually he kind of mumbled it.

"Right..." Leon replied not really sure on what he should do next. He felt slightly awkward. Mostly for telling his Ex that he missed her, emotions were not Leon's strong suit. He stood there feeling exposed almost. Not many people got under his armor put Mara always seemed to.

Mara ran as fast as she could down the road. When she got to her house, she packed almost everything she owned as if she was going to leave forever. She was somewhat of a social outcast, so everyone was kinda glad she was leaving.

Mara walked through the forest. She was cold, tired, hungry, and lost. She wanted to call Leon to ask for help, but she didn't. She wanted to seem strong and capable to do things on her own. After hours of wandering, she gave in. She pulled out the radio Leon gave her and turned it on. "Leeeeeon." she called into it. "I'm wet and cold and I don't know where I am."

He was about to ram right into the trees until he forgot that the ship cannot break the trees as he slammed on the breaks as it made its braking noise it nearly clame close of one inch away from ramming into the trees.
