Jeremiah heard Strone's voice, speaking indecipherably to someone. He felt along the walls, trying to follow the sound. He was getting closer...Or was he? He heard footsteps echoing through the cave and he ran, only to trip over a rock and fall face-first to the ground. There was a sound of something breaking as he landed.
"Aaagh!" He felt a sharp pain on his arm. He pulled himself back up, and tried to see what fell. He saw shards everywhere. He looked at his arm and saw something trickling down from it. Blood.

"Did you guys hear something?" Simon said as he put the princess on the ground "Hello? Is anyone out there?" The sound he heard was somewhat faint..."Please! Follow this sound!" Simon pulled out his harp and played a sharp, loud rendition of multiple familiar songs.

Jeremiah heard the faint sound of music, and he began to walk toward it, only to step on glass, which broke through his shoes and cut his feet.
"Ow! God! Why did I do this again?" he shouted, sitting against the wall and pulling out the glass. It was then he realized what broke...And why he felt so cold and wet. It was the cup of ale. It broke and spilled all over him. No wonder he reeked of alcohol. I'll be a bloody mess by the time I get out of here. He heard the music, but, try as he did, he couldn't force himself to get up.

Simon stopped playing his harp and yelled "Fear not! For I shall help ye!" Simon looked back to her highness "Go on ahead, I will return momentarily!" He began another mad dash in the voices direction "Please tell me! How did you get down to this dreadful place?!"

"Careful! There's broken glass all around me! Stupid ale mug!" Jeremiah shouted, hoping the guy could hear him. "I...Went down a hole in the castle, and...Here I am!" He tried to get up again, only to scream as soon as his feet touched the ground and fall back down, screaming in pain as he got a nice glass shard in the buttocks.

"Great Heaven almighty! Don't move, I'm coming!" Simon reached the scene of the fall. There was blood, glass, and ale everywhere. "Oh my..." Simon then remembered the small dagger he picked up. He cut off the sleves of his cloak and wrapped one around the stranger's arm. He was kneeling in glass, but he didn't mind "Fear not, for you are safe with me. My name is Simon, and I am traveling with the princess...looking at your atire I'm guessing you are a seasoned squire yes?"

Strone paused as the crashing was heard. he wanted to see what it was and help whoever was injured, but he knew whoever it was, it would lead to trouble seeing how he had the princess with him.

"Damn....I told you the bard would be a risk"

Strone sighed.

"We should make good timing while he is distracted. I would hate to have to face the Squire, I never do feel good fighting when I dont have to"

Strone grabbed the princess's arm to move.

"We must hurry"

"Strone Blaze..." Jeremiah repeated. He searched his memory. The name sounded so familiar. Then, it clicked. He read about a knight by that name in the castle's library. And he wore black armor...He couldn't focus on that right then, though. He had to get out of that cave.
"I'm Jeremiah," he replied, wiping himself up with the sleeve. "Looks like I'll have to wrap my feet before continuing...Don't help me up quite yet." He ripped off his own sleeves, carefully wrapping each one around his bloody feet. "Okay...On the count of three. One...Two...Three." He pulled against Simon's arm in an effort to get up.

"I say...Regardless of my opinion, I guess I have no choice as it seems to be the only way out of here," Jeremiah responded. He wasn't sure how he felt. Did the bard really not know that the knight was capturing the princess? That she could die thanks to him? And that knight had deceived him...Had made him feel as if someone actually admired something about him. But it was all a hoax. Strone just wanted Jeremiah to leave so he could capture the princess. But what was Jeremiah supposed to do? Run away? He couldn't even walk without assistance.

"Well the princess seemed to be enjoying her freedom, and Strone is a fine knight indeed." He then pulled out the dagger once more, trimming his goatee a bit then quickly putting it away. "As for me, I'm more of a thinker...I see the world from every perspective, and in a larger way, I hear it...I'll even tell you a secret about how I just brushed off cutting my chin just now"

Indeed Simon did cut his chin. Badly. But he had the same grin on his face.

"I'm no magician, but we bards no something about the magic of the mind!" Simon closed his eyes and began talking once more "Imagine yourself stronger than you've ever been. Standing atop the highest peak...take that...and capture that moment. Become that moment...see the world as it comes, and make it your own...and..." After rubbing his chin, all bleeding had stopped. A scar remained, but the bleeding ended

"Care to try?"

((I read something like this in a book once, the bard type character called upon his inner mind to do minor-amazing things, I won't be walking on water, but bards can do small amounts of magic"

"Wow. That is amazing!" Jeremiah said. "I'd love to try it." Strone? A fine knight? That wasn't too hard to imagine that that would be what Simon thought. That was Jeremiah's first impression, too. But the princess actually enjoying being kidnapped? That's impossible, Jeremiah decided.

"Okay...I'll try it," Jeremiah said. But it wasn't hard to imagine that. He had often fantasized of being a knight with his own squire. As such, the picture came to his mind almost immediately. He felt stronger, and he stopped leaning on Simon and began to run. Unfortunately, mind over matter didn't work so well for him. He fell flat on his face yet again. Right onto a rock.
"Ow!" he shouted, clutching his bleeding forehead.

"I can walk..." Jeremiah wanted to say. But he couldn't protest. It felt good to finally have weight off his feet. And to not have to worry about falling again.
"You know what? Never mind. So, uh...The princess was supposed to get married today..." Stupid idiot! Can't even converse with someone correctly. It occurred to him that as they were getting closer to the exit, they were also getting closer to Strone. And the princess. It is my duty to bring her back...No matter what the cost. In his condition, he wouldn't be able to fight anyone. Even the princess would be able to beat him at this point.

Strone stopped suddenly and turned back for her.

Strone picked her up as the bard once did and had her rest on his back as he started to run, his arms locking her feet so she wouldnt fall off.

"How rude of me for not even asking your name, Alright Lis we are almost to the exit"

Strone ran a little faster and in a matter of 1 minute a blinding light hit their faces. The sun. They were out of the cave.

Strone let the Princess off his back and gentely placed her against a nearby tree outside the cave.

"Lets look at the ankle."

Strone looked at the injured Ankle and pulled out some Herbs and bandages and wrapped them around her ankle.

"Alright. Dont put much pressure on your leg for a little while and you will be as good as new."

Strone gave a soft smile as he removed his helmet and threw it across the field, his long brown hair blowing in the breeze.

"Do you wish to wait for the Bard or do you want to get as much ground as we possibly can now?"

Strone looked out at the field, they were about a mile away from the castle, the town being next to it, it would take a little while before search parties would come.

"If we see your friend again, I'll have to thank her for helping"

Simon hummed as they saw the exit, he let out a yell of joy. "Excelsior! The beginning of our journey is complete...now we simply have to find the princess and Strone. Then we shall see what goes on from there!" Simon looked around, he saw beutiful flowers and shrubs. It was quite nice outside of the cave. "If only the cave was like that eh? Nature certainly is abundant in this area." Simon took a deep breath to take in his surroundings...well except for the princess and Strone BUT IT IS really nice in that area. Any poet would be distracted!

Jeremiah leaped out of Simon's hands.
"Strone-er-Sir Strone!" he shouted. He ran towards him, mind over matter actually working. He wielded his sword. "Your Highness...It is my duty to bring you back." He glared at Strone, but since he was so used to being a squire and having to respect all knights, he did not say the words that were forming in his head. "You do not know where the l-Sir Strone, is taking you." He bowed deeply, only to bash his head on a tree branch and fall over.

Strone saw two people exit the cave, he gave a deep sigh as he remembered the squire and let out a deep sigh.

"You alright lad?"

Strone offered a hand to let him up.

"Unfortunatly for you, you will not be taking the Princess back to the castle. Altough I do admire the fact you were brave enough to chase after us and to go through the cave just now for the sake of the Princess. If I had not said it once I shall say it again, You will become a good knight"

Strone walked a little away from the squire.

"We will not be bringing her back to the castle, she does not wish to return, and I will not force her to go back, as you may have guess, yes I am the kidnapper but to my surprise, she wishes to be taken out of the castle, so I am actually doing nothing wrong here except escorting her highness as a body guard and to watch over her until my job is complete."

Strone gave a relaxed smile.

"Sheath your sword lad, it would not be wise to go against me besides you are injured and I will not draw my sword to you for that reason. I do not wish to battle over nothing"

"I...You're just trying to trick me again with your fancy words!" Jeremiah accused. "I thought long and hard about this in the cave. If it is true the princess does not want to go back, does it really give you the right to take her to...Whoever hired you to kidnap her? How do you know they won't hurt her? Or kill her?" He turned to the princess. "Your Highness, why do you not want to go back? If it is a petty reason like you don't want to marry the groom, then there is a way you could return to the castle...And not marry him." He bowed again, this time making sure nothing was around him first.

You are mistaken for I have meant every word I have spoken about you, and yes it does give me the right to take her, she wanted me to and she is the princess, I would be a fool to deny her wouldn't I? And as for the one who hired, me, I said before I would protect the princess. If the one who hires me trys to hurt or kill her madjesty I will make sure that man dies before laying a finger on her. It may not seem it now but I strive on Justice. Hence why I accepted the job today. I had the gut feeling the princess has been troubled, and forced into things she does not want, so I came to free her from the prision she called home so she can live how she wishes to live!"

Strone laughed at the squires words.

"Are you so sure that she can just return and not marry? Surely dont you think she would have done so if there was even a way? Why do you think shes running away? Not just for that reason but im sure she doesnt have much of a say in anything that matters in the castle. She is better off here where she can do exactly what she wishes to do."

Strone crossed his arms, some of his hair blocking his left eye as a small reflection of the sun shines off his armor.
