Katrina did as he ordered and quickly head out of the evidence room. She returned to the Lobby, a little shaken, but not enoguh to assuage her curiosity... she put it off to the side and rejoined the others.

Howl intensely watched Katrina, inspecting all of her movements. He didn't mind the thought of mentoring... but he had too much to keep under wraps, and he knew he wouldn't be safe if she spoke up about it. He decided to play it risky and walked back in the head office, joining the others. He headed over to the wall-sized window and watched the citizens below.

Katrina shot a quick glance towards Howl. She was kind of nervous, and yet curiosity and excitement about her second mentor's secrets and the prospects he might offer. She didn't want to seem like she was being suspicious, so she mingled with the group of Prosecutors.

Howl looked back, bothered by the silence behind him. Affirming what he was thinking, everybody was gone but Katrina. Somewhat curious he asked, "What happened to everyone? They fall off a cliff?"

Sheila smiled faintly. "Good one, Howl. I...Won, but lost a friend because of it. Not only that, there are...Rumors that I forged the evidence for that trial," Sheila responded. "I'm just a little shaken up...Especially since someone tried to kill me as I exited the court house. Is that enough to merit this behavior?"

Howl's glance switched into one of very slight sympathy. He knew what rumors felt like... and also being a target of a killer. He looked to Sheila. "Do you know who would have wanted you dead? Especially after the trial?"

"Only too many people wanted me dead after the trial. But, people I know who might have done this couldn't have," Sheila replied. "For all I know, it could have just been a spectator. But whoever did it probably did that sort of thing before..." She patted her shoulder. "They got me right here." She looked at all the other prosecutors. "I don't know why they wanted to kill me, but I think they might be targeting prosecutors. Please be careful."

Katrina just stared, aghast at what had happened, she'd been shot! Well shot AT more specifically, from what she could glean the bullet grazed her shoulder. She looked to Sheila and asked "Well, maybe you should be on your guard a little more now... you think you'll be OK?"

"I'll be fine..." Sheila responded. "I just need a break from the courtroom for a little while..." She got up and shakily poured herself a glass of water, spilling some on the table and hastily wiping it back up. "I'm sure the judge will understand." She attempted a smile, but she just couldn't even do a fake one. She was too scared. And it wasn't herself she was scared for.

Howl watched Sheila. He was sure she wasn't showing what she truly felt. He knew she was trying to stand tall and strong... and that bothered him. He walked over and whispered to Sheila honestly, "Are you sure you're ok?"

"To be honest, I'm...Not really sure..." Sheila whispered back. "I just..." She tried to get the right wording, but it was hard to. Her thoughts weren't very coherent, not even to her. She closed her eyes, trying to think. "I'm terrified. For everyone here. I wish I could think that they're only targeting me. That I could hide somewhere and the ones trying to do that...Would eventually forget about me. But I just...Don't think they're only after me. And that's scary. Any one of us could be next. I'm just worried their next try...Will be successful." The words rolled off her tongue. For some reason, she had loose lips around Howl. She wasn't sure why, but she felt like she could tell him anything.

Howl was lost on those words. Why would someone want to hurt us? I mean... I could understand me as a target... but Sheila? His eye widen slightly at the thought of an assassin busting into the prosecutor's office at anytime, opening fire. He looked to her. "I swear, I will find your attacker, and I will personally tear him limb from limb..." Howl wouldn't let his thought become a reality, but he knew he'd need help to find this culprit. "Katrina, James, come with me." Howl ordered as he exited the office. "We're going on a man hunt."

Katrina shot up at her name being called. She then quickly walked to Howl to join him. With a quick reply of agreement, she followed him out of the room.

Sheila didn't know whether to feel relieved or scared at Howl's words. On one hand, they could catch the person who did this. If they were, indeed, after all prosecutors, then they wouldn't be able to pass up the opportunity to kill three in one night, even though Katrina was only an intern. But it scared her that they would be bait for this person. What if they didn't come back? She wanted to go, too, but she also knew she wouldn't be of any use.
She just wanted to make sure everyone would be okay, and she wouldn't be able to do that in the office. So, what? Do I follow after them and endanger my own life again? She didn't realize she was already following them out of the office.
"I...I know I shouldn't go with you," she said to Howl. "But I want to be right at the doors when you leave. And when you get back."

He turned around, hearing those words. He couldn't tell here no, forcing her to stay here worried, but at the same time he couldn't say yes. If he did, then what would stop her from following him further after they had left? He knew, though, that right now, even with his strong words and stature... that she wouldn't back down any argument he threw at her. "Fine... but you have to promise after we leave, to get that wound examined. I think there's more to it than just a bullet wound... if given the time, we can recreate the scene just from the angle of the wound of the bullet path."

Katrina was growing more nervous by the second. She'd always lived in the city, so it wasn't like she'd never been exposed to the crimes and murders before. But... she'd never been as close as she was about to get, yet curiosity maintained the best of her, and she couldn't resist tagging along. When she heard her knew nickname, she wasn't excited, but it was something. She tried to wish the best to Sheila, yet she was not really able to form coherent statements. She sighed and smiled genuinely to the Prosecutor, and walked besides Howl, though lagging slightly, so it did not appear as if they were equals.

(james looked at the young man) right now were dealing with a case at hand...may I ask a favor? Im helping them out but I need to go back to a crime scene for tomorrows trial...would you be willing to do that for me?

Howl noticed only Katrina was following him. He turned and saw James still at the door of the Prosecutor's office. "You forget how to walk? Come with us... we're leaving." he stated impatiently. "We've got a lot of ground to cover, and we don't know what kind of time we have before the hunter strikes again." Howl figured he'd want to rattle James' cage, since he'd already done it to Katrina. "Unless... you know the hunter, and are stalling for time so he can get us all in one shot. Who knows? Maybe you're working as a weasel, trying to get all of us alone... or map out our schedules so you know who's where and when. Clever... but a murderer like you needs more logic than that..." Howl bellowed the word 'murderer' to grab the surrounding officer's attention. They stood firm and intensely watched James for his response.

and thats as likely as spiffy aiming for a dog learning calculus (james chuckles)

...but enough of that for now...unfortunatly howl's right we do have little to go on...the bullet shot might have ballisic markings...then theres this case...why now why her...as I suggested we should get a copy of the record from todays trial.
