Soon after, Ruby arrived at where Lola usually was, but she was all packed up. So without further ado, she left straight for her house. He had to go there next, right?

After Mrs. Oakley demanded an entrance, the whole group, excepting Lucas went in. Tina saw Ms. Hastings, or rather her smoke, at her table. Then she inhaled it, and after a while she started coughing and breathing deeply. She seemed to be coming down with another case of her asthma, one of the only things that could turn her jolly smile upside-down. "Oh, where is my medicine where I need it?" she whispered, trying to keep her spirits up.

I've been away for far too long.

Lola whistled as she walked. Today had been, like every other day, lacking in customers, but she didn't let that bring her down. As she turned a corner, she spotted Ruby looking flustered.
"Oh, Ruby!" She called. "Are you alright?"

"Oh, I'm quite alright. Have you seen Lucas around anywhere?" Ruby replied, shivering in the cold. Lola's smile brightened almost anything, and that's what Ruby felt like right now...her troubles seemed to vanish beneath this ladies smile...

Mrs. Oakley spied Tina coughing and hacking away, searching all over for something. She guessed it was that little bottle she had found on the floor earlier.
Mrs. Oakley tapped Tina on the shoulder.
"Heh, I know how you feel. I'm not affected by smoke anymore, working here for 30 years n' all. Is this yours by any chance?" Mrs.Oakley said, handing Tina a small bottle with a strange blue liquid inside.
Suddenly, the Small TV in Layton's pocket started to crackle and fuzz...

Flora woke up later in the evening because of a nightmare. "What a horrible dream!" she thought. "There was a werewolf attacking a man, and he was entirely helpless. I think looking at the glass screen again might help me relieve my loneliness." She then walked once more toward the room, took the grey box and pressed the large red button. She saw the man in the top hat, the blue-sweatered boy and the small girl once more, along with others. "Hello? Anybody there?"

Mayor Hastings gave Tina a strange blue bottle, and she said, "Thank you, Mayor Hastings, but this isn't my asthma medicine. I wonder what it is, though." Then they all heard the pocket TV crackled alive once more. "Hello? Anybody there?" the voice from the TV said. "It's the girl again!" Tina exclaimed as those who did not know of the TV wondered where the voice came from.

"The what?" Oakley asked, gathering around the TV as the small girl started to appear again. Hastings looked as well. How she saw through all that smoke was a mystery to layton, but he thought it impolite to ask.
"Hello? Anybody there?" The girl asked, and Layton put a confused look on his face.
"Yes. Proffessor Layton speaking, and his assistant Luke too. What's your name?" Layton asked the girl in the screen. It was such remarkable technology. The professor wondered how on earth it worked...

Flora listened and watched the screen. The man with the top hat said, "Yes, Professor Layton speaking, and his assistant Luke too. What's your name?" Flora was quite shocked that anyone would actually respond, so she said shyly, "I...I'm Flora. Wh..who are all of the others?" Now people were staring at her more intently than ever, so she stepped back.

Tina looked at the screen while the girl, who inroduced herself as Flora, spoke. Eager to inroduce herself, she said, "Hello, Flora! I'm Tina!"

((It's already 9:10 in the evening here, so I won't be awake much longer.))

The others introduced themselves as who they were, and Layton added,
"Are you alright? You seem a bit startled..." Luke nodded.
"Yes, you do look a bit shell shocked. Where are you?" He said, gazing into the girls eyes on the screen.
She was very pretty, he had to admit.
((If that is godmodding...then sorry. some people don't seem to be posting much...meh, whatever, they can't spend all their time on here.))

((Sorry for not posting that much, but final exams are taking most of my time. Luckily, it's just 2 more weeks.
Also, LukexFlora is alright to me XD ))

Luke saw as the TV showed the girl again. This time, he got a chance to observe her. He couldn't help but stare at her. She was... really pretty, he had to admit. After she introduced hereslf as Flora, and Layton introduced Luke and himself, he spoke quickly.
"Y-yes, you do look a bit shell-shocked." he said. He paused, and kept gazing at Flora's eyes. He snapped out of it, and asked: "Where are you?"

"Well, I'm not really sure if I can tell you where I am," she replied nervously, in a soft voice, "but now that I know your names, I think I've calmed down. It's just shocking to meet someone in this manner." Luke paused before speaking, and could feel Layton's stare.

"Y-yes, it is quite the shock for us too." He turned at the others, trying to get his eyes off Flora. "Isn't it?" He didn't notice he was blushing.

As all were staring at the screen, Tina spoke up, saying, "Well, I guess it's really strange, speaking to someone through a screen. Why did you talk to us all of a sudden anyway?" Flora said, "Actually, I had a nightmare. About a man being attacked by a werewolf. But I'm fine now, so I'll go back to sleep." And with that, the TV screen became deep black once more. Tina asked, "What did she say? A werewolf? Could it be?"

Luke was surprised when the screen turned itself off once more, Flora disappearing into the dark, even when she had announced it. He probably hadn't heard it.
He kept staring at it, hoping for her to reappear, but she didn't. Then, Flora's words came back to him, and Tina spoke.

"A... werewolf!? Professor, did you hear that?", he excclaimed. "That lady- Flora, she dreamed about what happened here!"

"Yes...quite shocking!" Layton declared, scratching his chin in interest.
"But what the girl said is right. It's quite late now, and if i'm to solve the mystery properly, i think I'll need a good nights sleep." He said. You could feel the air of dissapointment in the room, but everyone had to admit he was right. Without sleep, no-one can function properly.
"I guess...Layton, your'e staying at the Concheillo Inn, right next to the wishing well. You can't miss it." Mayor Hastings said, pointing to the inn on the map.
"I'll sleep here tonight, to be here if anything happens." Oakley said, yawning.
"We'd be happy to escort you home, Tina. Where do you live?" Layton asked Tina as they walked out the manor house.
((Hope you don't mind me doing that people, xD. ))

Ruby started to smile. "Yes, you're probably right. He'll be at home, if he's anywhere. Thanks, Lola. I'll see you tommorrow, I guess..." She said, waving goodbye as she walked to her house in the sleeeping village...

Tina smiled at the kind offer of the professor, and said, "Thank you, Mr. Layton, but my house is farther than the Concheillo. I'll go with you until that point, but I'll be safe." Then she brought out the special silver sweet to remind them. Then the group started toward Concheillo Inn, not knowing that behind the sweet face of a little girl in blue, there was a secret deep within...

Layton and Luke had arrived at the Concheillo Inn. The man behind the desk was sleeping, but he had left a note on the table, simply saying, 'Layton, room 5. Gorshini, room 7. Nok, room 4.' and three different keys. Each key was a different colour. "Oh dear. Before we can get some rest I do believe we have to find out what key is ours..."

Lola shrugged off her fears as Ruby walked away, and continued to whistle. It took her less time than she expected to reach her house - often referred to as 'The Gingerbread House' by the locals. She was about to step in when something caught her eye.
"The lights are on in the inn? That can't be right..."
Anxiously, she made her way to Choncheillo inn.

Luke laughed, and took the blue key. "This one, Professor." he said. "It's quite easy: room 4 has a blue key, because "blue" has 4 letters. So Gorshini's key is the yellow one, and Noke's is the red one." He handed Layton their key, and they proceeded to their room.

"It was an easy one. I had it in a wink, and so did you, Luke. I'm proud of you to be my assistant." Layton said. smiling, they opened the bedroom door, which led immedietly into a bedroom with two single beds with white covers on them. The pillows were purple and soft to the touch, and as luke lay nearby, Layton thought about what had happened suring today.
Well, a whole load of mysteries had happened, hadn't they?
The werewolf, The Calendars on the wall, that ominous looking MOVING PAINT, and...the small girl on the screen. This was the most intruiging. Layton felt as if he was drawn to the girl, like he was destined to be near her, always-whether it was through a tekevison or not. Content, Layton joined the whole village in the slumber, not realising that by doing that, yet another villager would leave...

((DUNDUNDUN...XD this is probably my last post for tonight guys. School tommorrw T_T *sob sob*))

Xavier rubbed his wrists from the rough cuffs. He noticed everyone conversing, their attention strung amongst each other. Xavier eyed the Mayor, her sight away from him. He silently shuffle away and headed towards his quarters. Nothing was supposed to happen tonight. He pulled out his ring of keys and unlocked his door.

*creeeek*

Xavier cursed under his breath, and quickly stepped inside, the door repeating the cursed noise.

He sat near his desk, flipping through an old notepad picasso'ed with dates, places, and names. Nothing was supposed to happen tonight... He leaned back and looked out his window, the night sky filled with innocent stars and the occasional bird. Why couldn't they get their schedule right?

Lola quietly walked into the inn. The innkeeper seemed to be just arriving.
"Poppins!" He called. "What on Earth are you doing here?"
"Oh... I was just... Say, do we have visitors?" She asked. The innkeeper turned to his desk.
"Well, the keys I left on my note are gone, so, yes." He tapped his foot impatiently. "Are you wanting a room, or not?" The innkeeper had always been the one person in the village that didn't get along with Lola; he believed her line of work was pointless and degrading. She had shown him on many occassions that this simply wasn't true, by making more money than him in a day, which didn't exactly help their relationship.
"No thank you, kind sir," she said facetiously.
"Well, get out then," he glared at her.
"As you wish. I shall be back tomorrow to meet these visitors, though!" With that, she turned on her heel and headed home.

As she sat on her bed reading, a thought occured to Lola.
Oh, gosh, I hope Lucas is alright...

As the professor and Luke went to the inn, Tina went into the forest and went into a small cabin: her home. Lighting a candle, she said to herself, "Did I do the right thing? I hope so....Yes. I know so. They're the ones." She blew the fire and went to sleep, remembering all that had happened and hoping that what would come next would be for the good of Pineip. "They'll see....We all will...."

Layton yawned as he woke up. His top hat was still on. He had a fondness for it. It was like it wasn't a hat, but rather a part of him, as important as an arm or a leg. He looked out the window and saw a group of people standing out near the exit to the village, and a lone man infront of them.
Was something going up? Of course it was.
He nudged Luke.
"Luke, wake up. let's go and find out what all this fuss is about." Layton said, eyeing the crowd once more.

((Daww, what the shmee, no-one else is posting so I might as well :igarashi:

))

Layton and Luke rushed outside to see a short man with a large hooked nose carrying a large red suitcase. His eyes were squinty, his teeth yellow and was wearing a dressing gown. A lime green one, if you like details.
Layton looked around. he was sure he saw a glimpse of Tina's dress, but he wasn't sure, and he saw smoke coming from somewhere, but someone else may have been smoking. Xaiver didn't seem to be there but who knew? The decent sized crowd of 13 or so people may have hidden him.
"What is going on here?" Layton asked a man stabnding next to him, drinking a glass of milk ravidly.
"Ol' Joshua says he's leaving. Can't blame him, too, after the werewolf attack last night..." He said, glugging down more milk.
Meanwhile, Joshua was yelling at the crowd.
"I have decided to leave of my own free will. Nothing more." Joshua yelled at them.

This angered the crowd even more, everyone started yelling their opinions, and no-one could be heard at all over all the noise.

((Was going to post, but connection got lost for some minutes.))

Luke was woken up by the Professor, and stood up, putting his cap back on.
Outside, a crowd was standing.
"What is going on here?" Layton asked a man, who stood by them.
"Ol' Joshua says he's leaving. Can't blame him, too, after the werewolf attack last night..." he answered him, drinking from a glass of milk.
Then, the person surrounded by the crowd, Joshua, started yelling: "I have decided to leave of my own free will. Nothing more."
Inmediately after, the crowd started shouting, and no voice could be heard inbetween all the noise.

"Wait a minute, everyone!" Luke said, but he wasn't heard. He turned at the man holding the glass of milk. "Why is the crowd so mad at this Mr. Joshua leaving?" he asked. "Is he so important?"

"Well, lets try to find Mayor Hastings. Then we can try to quieten down this crowd so each emember may say their own opinion." Layton said, looking over the heads of the crowd for the signature trail of smoke. He spotted it, right near the front.
"Luke, follow me." Layton said, pushing through the crowd to try and reach the front.

Tina woke up and as she walked to the village entrance, she saw a crowd. She asked Lola when she passed by, "Ms. Lola, what's happening there?" Lola replied, "Oh, Joshua's leaving the village because of the werewolf, but he's our only postman, so many people want him to stay.I should've given him a silver lollipop before this happened," she said, but Tina had already gone to the crowd. As the professor and Luke followed the smoke trail, Tina bumped into them and fell into the crowd. As she got up, she found an intricately carved wooden box with a letter. Assuming that it was the professor's, she folowed them and went to the front of the crowd.

I've been away for far too long.
So long, in fact, that all of my signatures now exist behind a paywall.
Bummer.

Layton noticed Tina behind them, holding a strange box.
"Why hello there Tina, how are you? And what is this box you have?" Layton asked her, before Hastings showed up.
"Layton! I'm so glad you came! You'll know how to sort this out." She said, dragging him to the very front of the crowd. Her face was still covered in smoke, as always. 'She must have a disgusting face from the effects of smoking.' Was Laytons thoughts.

"SHUT UP! THIS MAN WILL SOLVE OUR PROBLEMS." Hastings said, pushing him infront of the crowd, who started yelling louder still.
Meanwhile, Tina and Luke looked at at the poor professor, struggling to find the right words.

((Sorry for long absences of posts. No particular reason for it. I'll try to catch up))

Xavier looked out and saw a pleather of a crowd. He walked up, meeting the back of the gathering, and saw Lola. He tapped her on the shoulder, bearing his pleasant smile. "Excuse me Lola, but, I don't remember the Mayor nor I planning any gathering today. W-What's going on?" He saw the Mayor pushing the guest with the top hat through the crowd... apparently she was solving something... but he didn't remember anything marking his schedule today of her making an appearance.

Lola smiled back at Xavier.
"You know Joshua, the postman? Well, he's leaving, because of a werewolf attack, or so he claims." She scratched her head in thought. "Goodness knows what we're going to do now, without a postman." She turned back to the crowd, and spotted a man in a top hat, with a child by his side. She didn't recognise them, and since she knew everyone in the village, she deduced that they must be the visitors who were staying at the Inn. Lola walked up behind them and cleared her throat.
"Excuse me, sir..."

Layton turned to face Lola, his back to the crowd.
"Hey! Talk to us first!" One person in the crowd yelled, and Layton sighed.
"Sorry, madame, but I'll take care of these people first. Then we can talk about whatever is on your mind." he said, turning back to the crowd.

"People, people. Ok, tell me why Joshua shouldn't leave, ONE BY ONE." Layton said, crossing his arms.
One Lady from the audience wearing a purple dress announced,
"He's our only postman. What will we do without him?" She said, chewing something. Probably gum.
"Well, I'm sure someone else could take the job. Who wants to?" Layton said, but then clicked his fingers.
"Wait...I'll be happy to be the postman." Layton said to the crowd, who looked shocked at what he had just said. Layton found his way back to Luke.

"Luke...I realised, this is a perfect plan! We get to go to all the houses to deliver post, AND talk to the locals without arousing suspicion. Plus, we get to look around town a bit more." Layton said, before Hastings gave him a sack of about 6 letters.

"Well, you can start now." She said, before heading back to her office.
"Tina, Lola, feel free to come with us if you want too." Layton asked the two ladies.

((OMG, i didn't even plan for Layton to be delivering letters because of that reason...I just thought of that up right now! Wow, genius, even if I do say so myself.))

Luke was utterly confused. "Professor," he said, slowly, "we are going to deliver the mail!? While it sounds like a good plan, are you sure we'll be able to do it every day?"

He sighed, shrugged, and smiled. "Well, if you are going to do it, then count me in, Professor!" He saw as Hastings gave Layton the letters. He was ready to go now, and the crowd around them and Joshua was leaving. "Where to first, Professor?"

The professor pulled out a letter. When he put his hand in the bag, he realised there weren't many letters at all. Doing this would take them an hour at the most.
"Let's see...oh, this one is addressed to the postman. Seeing as Joshua has left, lets open it ourselves." Layton opened it, and there were four more envelopes inside.
"Wha...oh, I see. Another Puzzle Luke. This one's fairly easy.

Luke laughed at the envelope to Joshua having other envelopes inside. "Well, Professor," he answered, "Jenny's mom's last kid is Jenny, of course!"

He then turned at Lola, with eyes like dishes. "Y-yes, that would be great, thank you, um... Lola, was it?"
