He's in the swamp, I can see that. Hmm...maybe I should come back with some friends. That tank doesn't look like it'd take too kindly to me. He headed backwards and began to walk to the SWAT van again. No doubt Luneth, Ethan, and...a new survivor?

She liked to think that she could have been the epitome of social graciousness if she'd just been a little fonder of people in general, but with her only family members confirmed to be dead, Kimiko really wasn't in the mood. "But I do agree that we shouldn't stay in the open after nightfall. We need to find a place to sleep, preferably one with door locks." Then, as if trying to make up for her earlier bluntness, "And I suppose it's nice to meet you both too."

(Sorry for being dissapeared, I had visits at home and I'd rather focus on being nice with my family than doing this, no offence, actually I was worried you already decided to kill me XD) [BTW: Don't turn my character into SWAT because he's near a SWAT van, he's an officer but one with reputation)

Victor was laying against the crushed van and (By the surprise of everyone) he was sleeping. When he used to be a rookie with a lack of responsibilities he used his talent of sleeping with his eyes open to not be caught. Suddenly he woke up, he wasn't worried, 'cause as he helped the military and emergency services he knew how the infected moved along, during night they stayed still and quiet, besides there was no danger of an attack in the south because they are attacking the last evac spot. Then he realized several people had talked to him...

He then walked towards the people who did it and said: "Hey! It's me, the cop from the call... I'm sorry, the radio broke after I transmitted and well... I fell asleep waiting" He then realized they were all discussing on how to take a tank out. "If you don't mind, I've got an idea, I'll be a decoy and drive him to the convenience store over there" He pointed to the right. " Then he'll be defenseless" He waited for response, he knew that tanks were as hard as hell, he hadn't killed just one and with soldiers with big guns.

"Ah, so you decided to join us. Gin," he held out his hand. "I thought you were dead for a moment there. What do you think happened to the SWAT team? I don't think they died here" he said, gesturing to the masses of dead infected littering the streets. "Maybe you would have a clue?" he inquired.

Ethan turned to the woman who walked up to them. He looked at her and gave a smirk, grateful another survivor made it through the hell. However, something else made him uneasy. Like something he had been chasing was close by...somehow.

He turned back to the group, who were discussing plans to get rid of the tank. He looked at the SWAT van. Pity it was totalled. Normal vehicles wouldn't stand a chance against it.

Ethan once again turned his eyes to Kimiko and said, "What weapon do you have?"

Along the way, Ethan would have to make sure everyone had proper weapons. Whatever she had was good for now, but a pistol (he assumed) wouldn't be enough against a horde of infected.

So, a little backstory, like I promised.

The virus is a mutation of an agent that was supposed to combat the cancer tumors, killing mutated cells. Unfortunately, one strain of the cure went haywire and contaminated others.

During a small but notorious incident in Raten, authorities thought they had contained the entire infection within Raten. They were dead wrong. Members of a terrorist organization that is centered in Boston, MA, managed to capture several infected specimens in order to reproduce the virus. A Russian army company was sent in to deal with them, but unfortunately perished once a nuclear missile was called in by brash army agent Jaron White. The terrorists escaped (the guy that Luneth aimed her Tranq at but later disappeared, and this terrorist organization is also the owner of those mysterious black planes, one of which shot down the first Japanese helicopter).

The terrorists plan to use the virus to create a new world order. It is airborne, but must be distributed by artificial means. One must have direct contact (as in the case of Ikkaku Madarame, who stomped on the head of a zombie officer, whose blood splattered into his bullet wound) with the virus for it to have an effect. Bites, open wounds exposed to dense collections of the virus in the air, etc. 4% of humans are naturally immune (as is the case for these survivors in Phoenix, and the surviving fortresses around the world), and cannot be infected in any way. The terrorists have a small force of black stealth planes at their disposal that is capable of spraying the virus onto cities. This is how Phoenix was infected.

You can't say that "Ikakku Madarame" survived when the clear consensus is that he's dead, which was mentioned and implied several times in the RP.))'

Victor took a deep breath and imagined: "Well, I knew this guys, they with the help of some other units were holding a line to protect the evacuation routes in the south, that way is already blocked by military controls but there are too many of those creatures storming the front to be able to get to the other side of the lockout" He was thinking in his orders: evacuate survivors, and look for means of escape for them, but his comanding officers were already dead too.

"Well, we could go to the police station directly through the tank or take the route of the subway, it's just 2 stations to the station but there'll be some more fight" He really preferred to go and kill the tank but it wasn't his call, they had to act together to survive.

((Actually, VHT, Kimiko took out her gun before approaching the group in case they were infected.))

"What weapon do you have?" the detective asked Kimiko. "Only a semi-automatic handgun. I am a civilian after all. It was enough for...what I had to do." she answered. It was the only way... They were infected and I wasn't. Someone had to put them out of their misery. The detective and Gin almost seemed a little uneasy around her almost as if they'd sensed there was something not quite right about her. Well, that's why this situation is so perfect. If I'm somehow miraculously discovered or if I get bored and confess, what court would bother trying me any more? Even if they decided to shoot me, they'd just be betraying everyting they believe in. she thought with a slight hint of triumph.

Although his rifle and sidearm were in plain sight, Gin still had a trump card on his back. He was incredibly proficient with the Wakizashi. He had originally planned to kill witches with it, but now it seemed that they had to fight humans too.

What fools people are. Even in the face of such a disaster, they still can't bond together The SWAT van showed clear signs of bullet holes, and the street, along with hordes of dead infected, also showed a few dead people, some armed with firearms.

"Suppose we go into the subway...and...our exit is blocked off." he said to Ethan. "The darkness also helps immensely with locating enemies too." he laughed lightly, the smile still on his face. "Maybe do what..." he gestured to Luneth "...she did. Walk across the roofs?"

"Stay out of sight until he's on fire, and then shoot at will. Sound like a plan?" he raised his eyebrows, still with the congenial disposition that he always had. To people he first met, the perpetual smile and slitted eyes would unnerve them into thinking he was evil. That's hogwash! he would say. But he wasn't entirely joking.

He followed Luneth up. At every 20 meter interval they covered, Gin would fire his gun once, silenced, so the people below could keep up. They finally neared the tank. where'd the other one go? Maybe he got bored. Oh well, good for us. There was just one tank lumbering in the road, and it was a big target. He loaded his rifle's grenade launcher with an incendiary grenade.

"Would you like to do the honors?" he smirked and offered Luneth his gun.

Sure enough, the tank seemed provoked and started running around, searching for prey. Gin took the sights of his gun and began firing, signalling for the others to do the same. "Any explosives would come in very helpful right now."

"No prob." Luneth pulled the pin and threw one of her grenade at the tank. She was aiming for the legs of the tank and missed, instead taking off another chunk of flesh from its torso. Gritting her teeth, she leveled the rifle at the head. It was moving around too much, but when the opportunity rises, she'll be there to take it.

"Oh dear...look. It's coming at us." the tank's maniacal eyes danced in the flames, illuminated by the fires around in the street. "Maybe we should get out of the way?" He neatly sidestepped as the tank crashed into the brick apartment they had been standing on and fired another burst into its back. "Resilient fellow, isn't he?"

Gin smiled maliciously. "Leave it to me." he jumped down from the apartment building, and drew his sword, just two feet in length, but deadly every inch of the way. The tank noticed him and smashed a huge meaty fist down, raising a dust cloud in the street(Tanks in Left 4 dead actually "walk" with their arms. LOLWUT? It's so funny to watch) He dodged and and parried the other hand with the sword, which made a deep laceration in its palm. He stuck a grenade in this cut, jumped back, and started running backwards. The grenade detonated after a few sweat inducing seconds and blew apart its hand in a hammersmash of blood, bone and gore.

The tank roared in pain, and tried to make its way to him, but its tiny legs could not support its weight anymore, causing it to collapse in the street. It roared in anger at the prey it could not reach. Gin taunted it a few times and signalled for Luneth to take her shots.

Luneth grinned and peppered the head with her rifle. It fell down dead and she vaulted over the side of the building to the street two floors down. Landing perfectly, she turned around with a flourish. "I really have got to carry around a sword with me. All I have is a knife, but it's good for cutting food and killing animals." Luneth looked at the tank lying dead in the street. "Wish I had someone like you with me when I was in Raten. But then, you might have died, so no harm."

For a split second, his eyes flew open and his smile dropped off his face something in Gin eyes flickered momentarily, but it disappeared as fast as it had come, and his eyes narrowed to slits again. "Come on, let's rendezvous with the others." he said with the ever-present smile.

For several minutes, Ethan went along with the group, but his mind was elsewhere, shortly before the murders. His days in the precinct, studying the clues that were leading him closer to the murderer.

To this day, he didn't know what his friend was doing in that alley. He had a theory, in light of the new situation he found himself in, but he wanted to find the person responsible to confirm. Depending on that person's answer, he may have to break a law of his own. One clue in particular was extremely vital. That same clue rested within his coat pocket. There was a slight obsession in this particular murder case, as a close friend of his died. He was found murdered in a back alley of one of their favorite bars. He more or less kept it on his person as a reminder of his resolve. It was carried in a small plastic bag.

Inside, he berated himself, reminding that many people held weapons like that. More so with these days with the Zombie Appocolypse. The perpetrator was probably dead, infected. He looked up to the dawn of the twilight hours and thought, What supreme power would allow the murderer of my best friend, and me, the detective hunting him down, to be immune, both of us survive, and allow us to fight together for survival. He chuckled at the thought.

His musings ended immediately when the tank attacked. Usually, he ran away from tanks, but these people were suicidal. Go any other way besides tanks. He fired from a distance with his rifle, missing the head every time.

After the tank fell, he gave a smirk once again, rejoining the team. At Luneth's sword comment, he quibbed, "Don't you know, pistol is mightier than the sword. Besides, swords are not an everyday household item you find. Often, we have to use bats and fire axes to combat the tide of living dead."

"Heh, you have no idea how good a sword or knife would do you in terms of survival. I've brought down game with just a knife, and guns don't usually work for me. And you need to work on your aim." Luneth flipped her knife. She had taken it out to inspect it. "You can't exactly cut with a bullet, you know. I find knifes to be more useful than guns, in my opinion."
