"AH!" Mia jumped. "Pearl!! What are you doing with a walkie-talkie?" She said into the walkie talkie. "Maya, did Pearls say she was coming with us? This is too dangerous, if her mother found out I'd be a dead person." She asked Maya, while waiting for a response from Pearls/Phoenix/Larry.

Maya shook her head. "She didn't know about the expedition. I think she just followed us because she was bored or lonely." Maya looked around. "At least we know Nick is with her," she added, trying to cheer Mia up.

Mia nodded. "Although if Pearl has the walkie-talkie, then where's Phoenix?" she asked Maya.
"Pearls, Are Mr. Nick and Mr. Larry okay?" She asked the youngest Fey.
"Maya, we better head back to find those three. Aunt Morgan really will kill me if Pearls gets hurt." Mia said, picking up the stuff she had set down. She glanced aroung the grotto again. "I'm sure we'll be able to get back here soon."

"Lead the way, sis!" said Maya with a fake salute. If there's anything I know about walkie talkies, they can only reach a certain distance. So Nick and the others can't be more then 300 feet away, right? All she knew was, Aunt Morgan was NOT going to find out about this.

All the while, Larry watched the scene, stunned. "Hey, Nick, is it safe for a little girl down here?" the man asked, pulling at his collar nervously. Is it even safe for ME? The young brunette thought to himself. "I mean...What about the zombies?!" Larry was clutching the canteen Wright had given him and took a sip of the water, brown eyes darting around. He didn't even known how Pearl had found them here.

Pearl giggled. "Yes, of course Mr. Nick is okay! He'd do anything for Mystic Maya, even walk on hot coals to save her! In fact, I almost fell down a hole and he saved me!" She gave the walkie talkie back to Nick. "Mr. Larry, I saw you walk into the tomb so I thought I'd follow you! I remembered that you were Mr. Nick's friend, right?"

Larry gave the little girl a sheepish grin. Oops...Nick was going to KILL him...Or maybe Mia...Or Maya....
"Th-That's right!" Larry said, scratching the back of his brunette head. He rubbed the top of Pearl's head, still smiling. "You're pretty smart for a little girl, aren't 'cha?" Larry asked, honestly a bit stunned that Pearl had been following him the whole time and he HADN'T caught her. The young man tried to convince himself it was because of her height, and had nothing to do with the fact he was completely oblivious to everything around him.

Phoenix glared over at Larry. He was quite tempted to lash at him with his whip for bringing Pearls down here. Then again, Larry didn't know. He sigh, took the walkie back from Pearls, and spoke into it. "Right, let's call it a day and get Pearls back to her mother. We can explore the rest of the cavern another time. Meet us back at the Chamber."

He turned to Larry. "Come on, let's get out of here. You too, Pearls." He held out his hand for Pearl to take. He'd make sure she wouldn't fall into any more traps.

Pearl took Mr. Nick's hand and followed him out of the tomb. "I'm kinda thirsty, Mr. Nick..." she said, almost tripping on Larry's foot. Since Mr. Nick was there, he prevented her from falling over, but she still grasped his hand more tightly.

Maya looked at the floor. She hadn't noticed before, but they were covered with loose dirt. Hoo boy. How will we clean up before Aunt Morgan see us...? Wait a minute...! At his request, Larry presented the canister and shook it. Water sloshed in the inside, although guessing from the noise there wasn't a whole lot left. The man smiled- He had dome something right, right? "Yeah Nice, I've got it right here!" the brunette said happily, shaking it again. The canister then slipped from the man's grasp at all the shaking and fell to the ground. Larry blushed sheepishly.

"Don't worry Pearls," Phoenix reassured. "It was just water." The last of the water that Larry spilt! The archeologist sigh, taking off his fedora and wiping the sweat from his brow. "I'm afraid the drink will have to wait until we're out of here." Suddenly a distant boom jolted Wright to attention, followed by the sound of rubble falling. Uh, oh. This wasn't good.

"Mia...I mean, Chief," Pheonix called into the walkie. "Did you guy's here that?"

Mia heard a rumble coming from the tunnel that she and Maya had just come up. She whirled around. "Crap?" It looked like some rocks were sliding down the tunnel, effectively wiping away the footprints left by the sisters. It didn't look like they would be able to go back any time soon. That's when Mia thought of something else, but Phoenix interuppted her.

"We're okay, the path we just came up from is blocked with rocks it looks like." Mia looked around. This chamber had looked really familiar at first, but what if She and Maya had come up the wrong path?

"Maya, do you think this is the right place? I don't see any other way out of here."

Well, the rumbling rocks weren't going to settle well with Larry. Horrified, the young man bit at his lower lip, a tiny whimper escaping him. He was trying not to make a big scene out of himself- After all, phoenix had that hot Mia Fey chick on the other line, and the last thing he wanted to do was make himself seem like a scared little boy when he wasn't.

He was a big, strong man who just so happened to think he was trapped in a dark cave for the rest of eternity. Big deal.

The rock's have block their path? Phoenix knew this could be trouble. "Larry, you know the way out," he spoke, glancing over at his friend. "Get Pearls out and wait by the van. Just keep going straight, back the way we came from. If we're not out by two hours, call for help. I'm going to find Maya and the Chief." Without another word, Phoenix left Pearls with Larry and rushed off, making for the left tunnel that Mia and Maya took.

Moment's later, he found himself at the spot where the rubble caved in. He searched the rocks, hopping to find away to loosen the rubble and open the way. His hand fell upon something...smooth, and burnt at the tip. It was then he realized he smelt residue of gunpowder. Someone had rigged this tunnel with dinamite. "Mia, come in," he called into the walkie. "Someone know's where here. They're trying to...gah!" Suddenly he felt hands from behind, covering his mouth and muffling his voice.

Mia's eyes widened. "PHOENIX!!! DON'T JOKE WITH ME!!!! IF YOU AND HARRY ARE MAKING A JOKE YOU WILL NOT PASS MY CLASS!!!!"
Nothing came back over the walkie talkie. "Phoenix? Harry? Pearls?" Hearing no response, Mia turned back to Maya.
"Okay I think we are going back to the lake. NOW." Mia had no idea what was going on, but if there was light coming from the grotto with the water, then there had to be a way out. Out meant safety right now. And she wasn't going to put her sister in danger on purpose.

Whoever it was that grabbed Phoenix, two things were clear. One, they intend to prevent him from speaking with Mia and Maya. Two, they had the beefiest arms Phoenix has ever known. His assaulter pulled him nearly ten feet before flinging Wright into the rock wall. He grimmaced in pain and felt a blow to his gut. Wright saw the fist coming for the second strike and shifted right, bring his own fist upon his assailant. He gringed in pain, it felt like hitting concrete. The attacker didn't flinch, and grabbed Phoenix by the caller, flinging him back to the wall. Phoenix knew he was no match fist to fist, and grabbed for his whip. He unfirled it, and lashed out at the brute.

The man yelped back, bellowing in pain. Phoenix took the offense, bring his whip to bear. The man retreated into the dark, but failed to notice a trap before him. Stepping on it, the floor gave way, sending the man screaming to his abyss below. Painting...Phoenix stumbled back to where the walkie laid. "Mia..." he breathed, gasping for breath. "Mia...their not friendly. I can tell you that!"

"Those foolish fools thought they could outsmart a von Karma!" Franziska stood right above the hole the five had gone into. Shining a light down, she could not see anyone, but thought she heard something from the tunnel below. Jumping down, she landed lightly on her feet and grinned. "Mr. Phoenix Wright, today is the day you will feel the wrath of Franziska von Karma!" She headed down the tunnel and made her way into the burial chamber. "Footprints..." Her head snapped up from examining the floor as she heard the sounds of a fight down one of the tunnels. Smiling again, she went down the passage and found a breathless Phoenix. "Aw, are you afraid of the dark, Mr. Phoenix Wright?"

"Wh-what's going on!?" yelled Maya. She went with Mia to the grotto; they got there in record time. They started looking for an exit, a passage, anything. Then Maya founf a large rock with an opening behind it. "Sis! There's air coming from inside!" What does that mean...?

"That voice...." Phoenix felt his blood run cold from the sound of that familiar voice. He slowly turned and saw what he was afraid to see. Franziska von Karma, Archeologist Prodigy and arch nemisis. "von Karma," he replied, tightening his grip on his whip. "How long has our last encounter been?" Not long enough, he thought. "So are you the one who detonated the charges to this tunnel?"

Phoenix held the walkie up to his mouth. "Chief, get Maya out of here and get to the van. Don't wait for me." With Franziska here, this have become personal. If she was here, then more than likely....he was as well. He clicked the walkie off, knowing he wouldn't need to talk with them again at the moment. "Well, Franziska von Karma, you've found me. So what are you gonna do?"

"Phoenix, What is going on?" Mia waited for a reply. "Phoenix? Is Pearls okay?" She tried to keep a calm, clear mind, but if Pearls was hurt at all, Mia would be the next one with an urn in Kurain village. Hearing still no Answer, Mia turned off the Walkie Talkie.

"Maya? We're getting out of here." She thought about each of her options carefully. She helped her sister move the rock the rest of the way so they could get out.

Mia looked at her sister and told her the truth. "I don't know. But we can't reach him the way we came, so we have to go around to even think about helping Phoenix." She followed her sister out. "I don't know, but I'm kinda worried. And..." Mia looked around where they came out at. "What the heck?" They were right behind the van.

He brought this upon himself for what he did." Holding the whip at the ready, he stared Franziska straight in the eye. "As an archeologist, I could not over look that fact. As for the magatama..." Phoenix grinned. "Sorry, but it's not here." And that WAS the truth. These ruins only held the next clue to the puzzle. "So I'm afraid you just wasted your time here."
