BlackJack looked at the figure lying on the ground. It's face was twisted and contorted with pain.
What's happening to him?
But he shrugged off his momentary concern and faced Steel.
"But you're right. We should get back to HQ. We have to rest up so that we can help the others. Wherever they are..."
Steel was looking at the Man too. What was with him? He seemed like he was dreaming... but he looked uneasy, and showed signs of what seemed like a horrible pain.
"I don't have a clue where the others are, either.", he said. "I've been in bed for around 4 hours, I guess. So I'm afraid I'm out of the loop."
He looked at the creature lying in front of him.
"I don't know... I feel like if we leave him here, something worse could happen... We should go to the HQ, but ask someone to come here, don't you think? And, considering the situation...", he pointed at the Man. "That someone means around 5 or 6 soldiers."

Just when Exo was about to catch Aria, she tripped over a puddle of ice; a remnant of the fight.
"Woah!" she tripped and skidded away, but quickly got back up to see Aria lying on the ground.
"Dies..." she mumbled. Then, her eyes rolled to the back of her head. Exo scooped her up in her arms, but she took to much time. The water man and the fire guy got back up unsteadily.
"Time to finish them, isn't it?" the water man asked.
"Yes," the fire guy replied. They both grabbed hands, and soon Exo found herself in an ice dome, still holding Aria. The ground was extremely hot...Fire was starting to spread.
"You have until the dome turns to water to escape. And that won't take long," one of them said. Exo ran towards one of the ends, sticking her katana into it in an attempt to break the ice. Nothing. The fire surrounded Aria and herself in less than a minute. Big drops of water were falling on them.
"Aria...I have to get you out, at least..." Exo whispered. She leaped through the fire, wrapping herself around Aria so she wouldn't catch fire. Then, she ran as fast as she possibly could, back first, right into the dome. She turned back around as that part melted. The dome began to collapse, and Exo ran, straight down the flight of stairs while the others were too preoccupied with their attack. Or so she thought.
"Ice shard," Water Dude said, throwing it after Exo.

Carmen rolled her eyes. "That's if we get past the cameras, lasers, and fully armed Legion members. But with the way security's been lately it actually doesn't seem as bad as it sounds."
When she opened the door, it was like someone punched a gaping hole through a dam. Painful spots danced across her vision as the oppressive pressure on her mental view lifted. She began automatically making adjustments with her mental shield.
Then, she suddenly tensed.
She had felt a distant buzz of emotions in the direction of the stairs.

BlackJack looked back down at the Tentacle Man. Watching his face twitch in pain.
"We should have someone come get him. Like 5 or 6 someones." Steel shrugged.
BlackJack whirled around and faced Steel again. "Come get him? What do you mean 'Come get him'? You want him in the base? What if he wakes up? You want him to do to HQ what he did here?" BlackJack pointed at the ruined cityscape for emphasis. "He did more towards the destruction of this city than the Accident! And you want him in the base!? What are you thinking?"

Steel noticed how BlackJack misunderstood him. But he now had another idea. After all, not a lot of soldiers would survive in a fight against the Tentacle Man, maybe not even 20.
"Yes... I want him in the base.", he said calmly. "We'll keep him completely sedated and analize what's giving him all this power, while the sedative keeps him inmovilized. Maybe we'll be able to extract that from 'im. After all, if we leave him here, he'll destroy our building sooner or later, anyway. What do you say?"

BlackJack looked for a long time at Tentacle Man. He was unsure about Steel's plan.
Can we stop him if he does wake up? And even if we were able to analyze and extract his power source, how would we ever be able to contain it?
BlackJack finally looked up at Steel and sighed. "Alright, big guy. I give. Let's take him. At least at HQ, we can monitor him."
Tentacle Man trembled. But BlackJack failed to notice.
((Can Steel pick up Anthony by himself or does he need BlackJack to help? Anthony's not that big without the Darkness, but Steel may be still injured.)

Steel nodded, and picked the Tentacle Man up. He carried him in his shoulder, and noticed he wasn't heavy.
"I hope that sedative keeps him asleep until we reach HQ...", he said, slightly worried. After all, that thing had just destroyed an entire city. "Keep an eye on him, just in case he wakes up. Let's go."
He carried the Tentacle Man all the way to HQ. It was a long road between the ruined city and the Resistance building, but he could manage it.
When they arrived at the HQ, he asked for a place in the hospital wing, and left the Tentacle Man there.
"OK, this guy seems to have some psychological source of power.", he told the medical staff who were securing the Tentacle Man to a hospital bed. "We need some analyses to know what this is, and, if possible, a complete extraction of it."
"We'll do what we can", they told him. Steel nodded, uneasy, and headed to leave the room.
"Oh!", he remembered, just before leaving. "And keep him exposed to light the whole time. As strong as you can." The medics nodded, and he left the room.
BlackJack was waiting for him outside the room.
"That should do it.", Steel told BlackJack. "Now, we just hope he doesn't wake up, or that the lights keep him down."

"Stand watch in here. Don't let this prisoner escape. He is very dangerous. As long as he is exposed to light, his powers should be neutralized, but keep this in mind: He nearly killed me and Steel. I would think you should consider it beneficial for your health to keep him under a light."
The soldier swallowed hard. "Y-Yes sir."
BlackJack stared at the guard for a few more moments, then walked off in the direction of his lab.

One, he was in a well lit room, which neutralized his Darkness power.

Anthony looked around to the sound of BlackJack ordering the soldier to stand watch. After being stuck in thought for so long, he felt normal again.
He smirked and said, "Yes, I'm very dangerous. Do you know how many people I've killed?" he asked slowly, his voice barely a whisper.

"Shall we check it out?" someone asked. The voice sounded familiar. Exo was about to try to hide when the ice shard got her in the back of her head. She threw Aria so she wouldn't be hurt any more than she already was as Exo painfully tumbled down the stairs, Aria landing on top of her as soon as she reached the bottom. She was, again, grateful she had an exoskeleton. Something like that probably would have killed anyone else. Dazed, she stared straight ahead, not sure what to do.

Carmen was about to answer that they'd have to if they wanted to get out-the contractors hadn't been considerate or foolish enough to built a convenient secret passage-when a loud clatter crashed down the stairs.
"The hell-" she started. Then, her eyes widened with recognition as the warning bells went off in her head.
She dimly recalled those two from the zombie assault. They'd been on the Resistance side, the enemy's side.
Unconsciously, her hand drifted for her gun...

Exo could see very little from her position on the floor. Her eyes drifted up, and she saw two pairs of legs, and one person reaching for something...Most likely a weapon.
Crap! I can't do anything, Exo thought. It was too painful to move her head, much less try to lift Aria off her. She knew it. The familiar voice...Was that of an enemy. Or was it? Exo did the one thing she could think of...She put her hands in the air, hoping surrendering would be enough to keep her and Aria alive.

Carmen's fingers found their way around the handle when the Exoskeleton woman held up her hands. Carmen blinked. Was that supposed to mean...surrender?
Or was it a trap? The emotions she was feeling from her didn't seem like malicious intent but she could still feel the dim buzz from the stairs. Someone else was there-maybe more, she couldn't read from that distance-and that still meant someone was still blocking the only way of escape even if this really was surrender. If they were Resistance, they might be able to make a deal and let them do whatever they wanted while getting a distraction out of it. If they were Legion, things were going to get complicated.
Her grip remained on the gun when she leaned over the other and said evenly, "Is whoever's hiding up there with you?"

Exo painstakingly got up. As the ice shard melted, she lost more blood. She assumed it was only a matter of time until she would be too weak to stand. Not until we escape. Not until we escape, she repeated in her head.
"Ugh...Aria...Thank goodness you're okay..." Exo muttered weakly as she followed Dies. "So, uh...Do you have a plan?"
