He could hear her running, but when he opened his eyes she was gone.
"WAIT!" He called after her again. "please..."
He sighed and slipped back into his room. He looked out his window and hoped that maybe he'd catch a glimpse of her, but he didn't. After a few moments of self pity his eyes narrowed, he grabbed the bottle of cold medicine she'd brought him, and a red scarf. He was wrapping it around his neck as he rushed out the door.

Emi walked casually with her sketch pad tucked under her arm. When a rather determined, if a bit wobbly, spiky haired man pass her she decided to lean against the wall and sketch the glimpse of expression she'd seen. She didn't do this out of any enjoyment or whim. It was a need. Emi, a girl with only mild emotions at best, found drawing the ones of others as necessary as breathing or eating.

Once she'd put a good six or seven blocks between them, Iris slowed to a walk; she might have been impressed at the amount of running she'd accomplished in the last half hour if she wasn't drowning in more important thoughts, not to mention she was thoroughly miserable. She spotted a vacant park bench just ahead and decided to use it. While she sat, she checked her phone for new messages and came up empty.

Phoenix had no idea where he was going. He just hoped that walking forward would eventually lead him to her. He was starting to think this may have been a bad idea when the sidewalk under his feet started to twist and contort in unexpected directions. He nearly lost his footing on several occasions. Not to mentioned the torrents of sneezing that would attack him at random. He took the bottle of cold killer x out of his pocket and tried to recall if he'd taken any yet. Since he wasn't sure he decided to anyway.
About a block later he was trying to remember the same thing again, and came to the same conclusion as before.

Phoenix was on about his seventh block. Luckily he'd managed to remember taking some of the meds by the third so he was feeling pretty clear when he saw her. He didn't say a word, and the look in his eyes was rather grim as he walked up to the woman. He stared down at her for a moment before grabbing her in a tight hug.
