Elle blushed even harder, her cheeks turning the color of the ketchup that she so loved. Just then, the food arrived. "FOOD!" She sprang away from Alex and turned to her hamburger. She dug into it. "Sorry....Alex...." she said between bites. "But....food......will.....always.......come......first......." She finished her hamburger with a gulp and washed it down with half of her milkshake. Then she started on the fries, eating them more slowly, but still way too fast for Alex. "This is pretty good, hm?"

Alex smiled. He was getting really nervous anyway. Besides, she probably wanted to get out of the awkwardness of the moment. Alex stared at the huge burger, not knowing for sure just how to begin to eat the monstrous thing.

"Actually, you NEED to eat something! You're all skin and bones!" She laughed. "I know, look who's talking! I'm, like, skinnier than you! But, as you can see, I eat A LOT." She giggled.

"Y-You ate the whole thing in five minutes..." Alex said with a shocked appearance. He looked at the huge burger, and it seemed to stare back challengingly. He picked it up an took a bite, surprised at how good it was. He kept going, biting and eating, until it was all gone. Although it took him much longer. He finished the rest and felt completely full. "Wow... That hit the spot... All the spots..."

"Good job!" Elle smiled. "I knew you could do it!" She laughed. "Eating isn't that hard, right? But you'll probably have a huge stomachache tomorrow....Oh well! You still have your fries and shake to finish!" elle finished her own shake just seconds after. "That. Was. Delicious!" She laughed at herself, then rested her head on Alex's shoulder, sighing with pleasure. She pulled out a stick of gum and popped it in her mouth. Citrus flavored. Yum!

Alex felt a little happy that they were back into that soft, romantic mood again, although he was also a little afraid that he would go too fast or too slow with it. He took a chance and put his arm around her, then rested hs head on hers. His stomach felt like it was going to explode, but he felt a little better from the warmth he felt now.

You're.....different. Different from all the other guys I know. She noticed his panicked expression. "No, no! Not in a bad way! In a....refreshing way." She smiled.

Alex's heart beat faster than the usual beating when he was around Elle, which was even faster when she got close to him like this. Do whatever feels natural, Alex! Whatever feels natural! The words echoed in his mind, which was clouded enough, and without thinking, he closed his eyes and pushed his head forward, and their lips touched. And with that kiss, everything changed or Alex Reid. He now felt like he could go out into public, make friends with strangers, be as lively as everyone told him to be, live his life away from fear of ridicule, and now he even had a girlfriend.

She ran her hands through his hair as she kissed him. He was a good kisser for one who was so obviously inexperienced. "You're my boyfriend, now," she stated simply, like it was completely obvious.

"I'm all yours," he said quickly before kissing her again, his arms reaching around her and his hands carressing her back and sliding downward to her hips. He leaned back so he was resting on the hood and pulled her gently with him. This is officially the greatest day of my life, his mind said simply.

I mean, it's only our first date! Elle reluctantly broke away from the kiss. "Alex.....I......I......." She blushed fiercely, not knowing the words to express what she was feeling. She wanted to be with Alex, but she knew that this was too much for her.

"Of course you can.....Well, I've never told anyone this before, but a few years ago, I was depressed. Like, seriously. I even....I tried to commit suicide." She hung her head. "I got over it......But that's why I surround myself with all this, this social status. I don't want the depression to return. But I'm....I'm afraid it will. And, and around you....I feel like I'll never even think about being depressed." She kissed him softly.
