PLOT
In a land known only as Myandaesa, there are three types of people: Card Magicians, Subjects of the Cards (known plainly as "Subjects", and finally, Lords of Cards. In Myandaesa, the political structure is thus:

There are four political "parties":
Diamonds
Hearts
Spades
Clubs.

They all represent different groups of Subjects. Diamonds represent the richest, Hearts the upper-middle class, Spades for labourers, and Clubs for slaves and servants and criminals. And although they represent different things, the heads of each party, the Lords of Cards, congregate regularly in the House of Cards to discuss the welfare and future of Myandaesa. And although Lords have a considerable say in what happens, an even higher power is the King of Cards. He ensures the Lords make the right descisions and so forth, and ultimately rules Myandaesa.

However, the balance of Myandaesa has been disrupted with the coming of Morgemar. He is a Card Magician who wishes for those of magical power to be political powers as well, which would have been fine but he wants magicians to rule everything. He wants to be the King of Cards and his underlings to be the lords. Of course, the House of Cards is quite against this, and doing everything to stop him. But Morgemar will not halt, even at murder, and as he climbs his way up the political ladder, leaving a trail of blood in his wake, the Lords grow ever anxious and hire numerous strong and loyal Subjects to protect them. This is where you come in: Will you stand with Morgemar, and attempt to overthrow the King?;
Or will you opppse him (for a fee), to protect your country from the Magicians evil meddlings?
___________

By the way, if you just skimmed that, THIS BIT IS IMPORTANT.

Due to the complexity of the plot, I would like some decent RPers with coherent writing ability: That is to say, although the rules say a minimum of 50 words, in this RP I would like a minimum of three paragraphs. I count a paragraph as 5 or 6 lines, and it must move the plot forward, we don't want to stay in the same place doing the same things forever. If you feel that's too much, then this isn't the RP for you.

[u]ROLES[\u]

There are two roles to play: Card Magicians and Subjects, although if you wish to be a Lord, PM me and we can work something out.

Card Magicians: Magicians are the "bad guys" here, and as such have a number of powers:

Magicians can cast Spells, which range from Pyrokinesis (controlling fire) to Levitation to slight Energy Manipulation, or they can cast stronger, Card Spells. These include things like: Matter Manipulation, Elemental Control, or even bringing inanimate objects to life. (Psychomancy)

Each Magician can have up to 5 Spells, and 1 Card Spell (Card Spells take a lot of energy).

Skele:

Name:
Age:
Gender:
Appearance:
Spells:
Bio:

_______
Subjects of the Cards

These are just your average, everyday people, but the ones hired by the Lords have exceptional skill in a certain field for example, one may be a skilled swordsman. Not much else to say, really, except that it doesn't matter which Lord you serve.

Skele:

Name:
Age:
Gender:
Appearance:
Skill:
Bio:

And that is all. If you want to join, post your chars here; once we get around 5, we'll start the RP. Please try and make it balanced, we don't want too many Magicians running around, do we?

((Q) By five/six lines, do you mean on the post when you are typing it, or on the post when it has been typed? For example, this question shows up to be about two lines and a half long when I am typing it right now. But when I post it, it will be two lines. So do you want us to write, say, six lines for the post or the six during the post we will see when typing?))

Name:???/'Stalker'/Knightclub
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Appearance: Chain mail chest armor woven into a fine dark blue velvet coat. Silk white shirt and blue velvet breeches. Black shoes.
Skill: Marksmanship/Assasination
Bio: A bounty hunter by the age of 17, Stalker discarded his true name, erasing it from his history until even he forgot it. He was dubbed as 'Stalker' by his third client, and he follows the bounty, just waiting for that single moment when they let their guard down.
Morgemar's arrival did little to deter Stalker, until he was approached by a representative of the Lord of Diamonds, asking for his services in return for great riches. However, painful memories of the past when the Diamonds and Hearts would stalk past him, or even spit on him as he lay on the streets, and even the Spades, the people of his former class, ignored him.
After murdering the represtentative and making it clear he was an enemy of the two higher clans, Stalker visited the Lord of Clubs, offering his services as a protector of the less fortunate. Jumping at the chance, the Lord promptly gave him the title of 'Knightclub'.
Refusing a room in the Lord's quarters, Stalker merely patrolled the land, watching out for clubs everywhere. Even when a Diamond had the courage to shout 'Hail Knightclub!' in the street, he simply ignored him, and continued his duties as protector of the clubs.

Seems like a neat idea, has that old 19 century feel to it and all.
I'll post a character description later, but for now, I post to get a bookmark in the "View Your Posts" bit.

Um, I forgot to mention, there's no guns in Myandaesa. The people chose magic over technology, and by my standards, a gun is technologious (yes I did make that word up >D). Just a heads-up.

And megadef, yours is fine, although generally the Subjects are with the Lords. If you're planning to make her a rebel, perhaps she could join the Magicians as a spy or something?

I'll post my character later, although by looks of it, he's definetely going to have to be a card magician. 8D

((By the good grace of Furtz, I not only have two characters, but a Lord, cause we're good like that... PM me if I messed up somewhere.))

-Lord of Hearts-
Name: Noah Ducal
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Skills: Swordplay, Fencing, Philandering
Appearance: Thin, tall, and well refined, he usually wears a fancy black 3-piece tux with accompanying top hat and cane. His hair is a long, cleanly tied-back brown, and eyes gray. He is not all that pale, despite the rest of his family's heredity being of a more pallid shade.
Bio: Member of a sub-Diamond-wealthy family, he came under the title of Lord of Hearts through the Last-Will of his deceased grandfather, in coordination with the King of Cards. Growing up in a world where even the bricks might be called "cushy", he could have become a spoiled brat like that of his siblings. Somehow, he got lucky, and became a more self-reliant man. That did not, however, stop him from indulging in the perks of being a upper-class Heart, and he has been known to be a bit of a 'womanizer' from time to time, and so has never settled down. He enjoys parties. A LOT.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Name: Jack Personae
Age: Early twenties.
Gender: Male
Appearance: Wearing regular workers clothes, usually hidden under a brown hooded cloak, he occasionally walks the streets hidden in the crowds by the sheer simplicity of his attire. He has brown, curly, messy hair, and a solemn face, most of which is hidden under the hood while working.
Spells: -1. Short-range Teleportation (within 30 feet, if he can see the location)
-2. Cryokenisis (Ability to cover objects in ice.)
-3. Floramancy (Ability to make plants grow, in normal or specific ways.)
-4. Self-Levitation
-5. Invisibility Illusion (He makes himself invisible to others if they have not already seen him.)
-Card Spell: Gelo Itaque Alieno: A special of his, it literally translates from Latin as 'to freeze and to let go'. A mental charm, it freezes those who gaze upon the user (while it is active) until the sunrise of the next day, wiping their memory of ever seeing the user from that entire night, the night being the only time it is possible to be used. As it is a Card Spell, it will drain him of his strength, but because of the nature of the spell, it is a more gradual drain, rather than an instant one. It still takes a large amount of energy to start the charm, however.
Bio: Jack Personae is a Magician. A citizen of the Club-Class, he joined the Card Magician a while back, and has been aiding him since. He has some form of an ulterior motive against the class system, as well as the King of Cards, although it is known that it doesn't have to directly deal with his own class level. His work is in espionage for the Card Magicians, which are helped by his set of abilities and spells. He is a well liked person between his friends, also of the Clubs, and a hard worker when he is helping with work and labor (which isn't all that often on his own, seeing as he isn't a slave of anybody).

Out of simple curiosity, Insho, isn't the ability to manipulate and use ice known as 'Cryomancy' and not 'Cryokinesis'?
Also, when do we start?

Indeed it is. I was bored, I wanted a different name. XD
Besides, I think the term is legit. He doesn't actually control ice, he can just make it and form it (slight difference, but there is one).

Righto... My char...

Name: Golmur Norunsson
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Appearance: Golmur, despite the bulky sounding name, is a thin and weak looking man. He has a palid tinge to his skin, which is rather creepy, and a long, drawn out face of which the bones are clearly visible. His eyes are sunken and an odd, yellow colour, and his hair is short and black, slicked down with grease. Normally, he wears a deep magenta robe that trails down to his ankles and black, beetle like armour beneath, polished to a grim shine.
Spells: Pyrokinesis (Control of fire, although his is a strange violet colour)
Energy Manipulation: (He can form spheres of black energy to throw at his enemies)
Mind Control: (Can contort the mind of his target to do his bidding, can last one hour max)
Energy Shield: (A moderate strength forcefield which impedes attacks)
Duplication: (Can split into weak copies of himself to divert opponent's attention)
Card Spell: Element Strike: (Water, Fire, Earth and Wind combine to destroy all in their path. Causes the user to faint after use)
Bio: Golmur was discoverd at the age of eight by Morgemar himself, who taught him as his right-hand man. Under the twisted guidance of Morgemar, Golmur became one of the most feared enemies of the House of Cards, and has, in turn, recruited many more Magicians to the growing rebellion.

____

Golmur's odd coloured cloak swished across his ankles as he prowled the night streets of Myandaesa. His footsteps echoed softly, but there was no-one there to hear him, he had made sure of that. He stopped suddenly, holding up a weak lantern, and gazed around the street. He thought he could hear something, scrabbling around in the dark. Finally, he decided that it was safe to continue, though he glanced furtively behind him every few seconds as he dipped through an alley.

Golmur had to be certain that no-one was following. Soldiers, he could handle. Even those pesky guards of Lords were nothing to him. But tonight, being watched, no matter if it was by a spy or enemy, even a drunk or bum - it would mean death for the practicer of magic. He made his way through a variety of alleys, though his progress was slow, as he tried to avoid publicly visited places, for fear of being seen. He came to a fork in the road, and struggled with his decision of direction, but finally opted for the path to the left.

Golmur finally came to his destination, a scabby looking tavern depicted by an old worn-out sign as being, 'The Rusty Knife'. Making sure for certain he wasn't being followed, Golmur took a deep breath and entered. The door squeaked ominously as he did so, and he walked up to the bar. It was clear that he did not belong, the men of this pub were plainly Club class. Even so, he ordered a drink, and waited for his target to arrive.

'Knightclub'. A word known by all Clubs. A word feared by all Spades. A word despised by all Hearts. A word forbidden by all Diamonds. A word used to describe a man who was not selfish, nor greedy, nor rich. A word used for a protector. A word used for a man who was at this very moment sat on a beam in the roof of 'The Rusty Knife'.
When the man arrived, Knightclub (or Stalker, as he preffered to be named) had to resist the urge to send a crossbow bolt whistling into the man's neck. But there was something about this man, something different.
The man's appearance was ordinary of that of a Heart or a Diamond; well dressed, shiny armor, greasy hair, thin face. But he radiated power, a power Knightclub had met once before, an encounter he wished he had never had.
His intuition told his this was a card magician.
Knightclub's brain was having a rather loud argument. The Stalker half of him told him to approach the man, while the Knightclub half told him to stay back. He went with what Stalker told him, and instantly he was Stalker, no longer protector of the Clubs, but ruthless Bounty Hunter.
Slipping down from the beam, drawing no attention to himself, he strode over to the table where the man sat.
"Is there a problem with me sitting here? As you can imagine, I hardly have a place anywhere else..." He said, indicating first his clothing, then the tables behind him, where Clubs where gambling and brawling and yelling.
While waiting for the man's reply, he signalled to the barman. The barman knew this sign; it meant ' I'm busy, don't let me be disturbed, and I'll have my usual while you're at it'.

"Raise."
"I Call."
"Fold."
"Call."
The melodious rhythmic chimes of poker was a peaceful thing, if you truly enjoyed the game. Jack Personae, in his usual t-shirt-and-overall worker's clothes, was sitting on a large pot, the money they had collected this week now ready at the card table to be lost, and he was ready to make sure that he won this. Within the Rusty Dagger, Jack had been playing with his poker buddies, other Clubs who he had gotten to know at this bar. Certainly, there had been some fights at the start, and he had barely gotten away with his usual cheating then, but nowadays it was a more peaceful game.

"Read 'em and weep boys. Royal Straight Flush." Jack said, laying down the cards 10 through the Ace of hearts. Of course, this was greeted with the usual response: Jack had to bend backwards in his chair to dodge as the fist came flying, the shouts of 'Cheat!' and 'Give me back my money!' coming from the angry fellows he was playing with. 'This is much better than when the group and I first met,' Jack thought. 'They were throwing things then.'

The irony of the hand was that, for once, Jack had not cheated on a game, the RSF just a sign of pure chance. He jumped out of his chair to dodge the table as it was kicked upwards, and began to punch somebody (he didn't see who) in the face. The whole time, the group continued to beat the snot out of eachother, the barkeep not caring. When a bell rung, indicating the time, Jack paused in mid punch.

"Ah, sorry guys, we'll have to cut the game short tonight. I need to get going-- the usual job, ya know?" He said. One of the others who was systematically kicking somebody else said, "Right, right, cya next game, Jack," before being pounced upon by a third man.

Jack made his way to the bar, and waited to get the attention of the bartender for a quick drink before leaving. He sat down on a stool near a pair of guys, one talking to the other. They both seemed rather unusual to be in a place like this... and he had the feeling that he knew them both from somewhere, although he didn't look right at their faces. Not showing a sign of interest, he strained his ears to try and eavesdrop on their conversation.

Stalker didn't miss a thing. Knightclub would've ignored the man behind, but Stalker's instincts picked up the scent of fear that generally emanates from an eavesdropper. Stalker turned around to face the man.
He instantly thanked himself for staying as Stalker. This was another card magician, and Knightclub would've been struck down by now for serving the lords.
"Can I help you? Only it would appear you are eavesdropping on my conversation. I don't like sneaks, not at all."Stalker was, as always, emotionless. Knightclub was creeping back, though, and soon the personality Stalker despised would return.
((Sorry, I couldn't fit that into six paragraphs.))

"Oh, you noticed." Jack said with a carefree attitude. "Well, I can get right to the point then."
Jack stood up and moved to closer to where the two were. He made to say something, but then thought a moment. "BARKEEP! Come, a round of ale for the three of us! You can put it on Henry's tab, as usual."

A unhappy shout from the sprawl of men fighting back by the table responded to Jack's statement. Henry was one of the people that Jack played with regularly, and because of his increasing losses to Jack, Jack let him cover his bar tabs, rather than have Jack take money. It was probably a worse punishment, in the long-run, but it was an agreement that they went on regardless. Good friends tend to be rare in places like this, but Jack had that kind of charisma about him.
"Anyways," Jack went on, "I have the strangest feeling I know you, Sir good-senses, as well as your companion. Have we ever met? Maybe you were at some sort of speech or competition..."

Before pondering it for too long, Jack's order came. As the ale was set down, and Jack immediately grabbed his mug and chugged it down. What was not known by the pair was that this was Jack's 8th mug this night, and he was becoming effectively plastered. "SO! Who are ya?" He yelled cheerfully, clapping a arm over Stalker's shoulder, and completely forgetting about the other man.

A cloaked man entered the bar. There was fighting all around him and commotion all around him. There was no aura about him that would be like that of a card magician, but he was still obviously powerful. He didn't hit anyone, but dodged every punch or kick thrown that would've hit him. A couple men locked in a fight went right in front of the cloaked man's path, but that didn't stop him. He jumped over the two men and landed right onto a bar stool.
There were three interesting men near where he landed. Two of them seemed to have an aura about them. Card magicians? And the other one seemed to be a pretty powerful fighter. He almost laughed at the now plastered man, but he didn't want to give off any signs that he was listening.
"I'll have a-" he began in a gravelly voice, but couldn't be heard beyond that over all the commotion. He sighed and waited. Cecil could wait all he wanted. It wasn't like he was in a rush. He looked at Stalker one more time. He could swear he saw the man before. The noise seemed to quiet down, so he tried again.
"Excuse me, barkeep. I'll have-" the noise picked up again. Oh, well. Cecil gave up on getting any drinks as he listened to the conversation between the other three.

Name: Atticus Mortuus Masters
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Appearance: Despite his youth, he is rather tall. His body is covered with a black cloak; while underneath that, he wears a black long-sleeved shirt, with black trousers. It's pretty safe to assume that most of his body from the neck-down is covered in black; including his gloved hands. Upon his head, a mane of white hair creates contrast with his black clothes - his face is hidden behind a white mask that seems to have been made from a cast of his face - it fits perfectly; it has no details other then a blood-like red line in between the eyes.
Spells; 1/2 are used at Atticus' will, while 3 and 4 are in constant use.
1 - Rain; It... makes it rain. That would be about all. If there are no clouds, clouds will be created in order for it to rain.
2 - Cremation; It sets Atticus on fire. Yes, seriously.
3 - Unfocus; A constant spell that gives Atticus 'low level perception properties'. It shifts your perception from Atticus (just a tiny bit) that doesn't make him invisible; just unnoticed. If he draws attention to himself, the spell is broken. If he attracts the attention of a single person, that single person can see him. If that person attempts to point him out, the low level perception properties still prevent him from being seen until he brings the attention to himself.
4 - Dark Beacon; A constant spell that doesn't seem to do anything for Atticus.
Bio: Unknown. He came from nowhere and climbed the ranks of the Magicians rapidly.

((The bio took so long to write. Then I ended up cutting most of it. Then the rest of it. Then typed that bit. Not amused by myself.))

((It's okay. I think 3 paras is a bit harsh, so I'm changing it to 2.))

Golmur kept a watchful eye over the men before him, though refusing to participate in any conversation. He raised an eyebrow at the man, 'Jack'. His senses told him this was another card magician, but why would he choose to come to a place like this? Why wasn't he at the Institute? Golmur was not told all Morgemar's secrets, lest he should betray him, though Golmur had been through rigorous mind checks before.

And then there were the two other men. One, the agile subject making no attempt to hide his eavesdropping, and then... Stalker.

Golmur's eyes narrowed. He was sure this was the man he'd been looking for. A 'Saviour of the Clubs,' so he was named, but in truth, Golmur could not find anything in his nature to suggest so.

Then the ale came, and though he despised the stuff, Golmur drained his ale in one. Now, though, was not the time to be drunk and merry... He had a job to do.

Shrugging off the drunkard, Stalker approached Golmur. He was certain this was a card magician, certain. And then there was the man at the bar... Stalker didn't care. All he wanted was a corpse in front of him within the next three minutes.
" So...do you have buisness here? I highly doubt this is your type of environment, Mr..." Stalker inquired. But Stalker was almost gone now, consumed again by Knightclub, who would then be consumed by Stalker...it was a never ending cycle, and one Stalker was helpless against.

Jack fell forward onto to he bar counter. He was gonna feel it in the morning, but hitting his jaw knocked some sense into him, clearing the oncoming fog of a drunken night.
"I am gonna hate myself in the morrow for this..." He muttered, rubbing his chin slightly.
Suddenly, it came to him where he had knew both men. One was a magician, and the other was the fabled 'Knightclub' character, the latter he had not actually talked with before. The only problem was remembering who was who; the onset of the drunken stupor's return hailed with a blurring of the thoughts.

"S-so, really big-guy, who are ya?" He managed to say, slurring occasionally. The ale was pretty strong here, although 9 rounds was nothing scoff at. Any recollection of his original job were scattered to the winds by now, his only intention to find out who was who then pass out in some ally for a few hours before returning home.

"Stalker." Said Stalker, and drew a knife, quick as a flash, holding it against Jack's throat. His pistol crossbow was in his other hand, levelled at Jack's stomach.
"Jack Personae, card magician. Do you have anything to say before I kill you and-" Stalker's hand flashed round, pointing his crossbow at Golmur's head. "-your card friend. I know both of you have killed many times before. Now it's my turn."
Knightclub was back.

Cecil took this as his cue and sprung up, pulling out his spear. His cloak was still covering him up.
"Stalker," he said, his spear pointed right at him. "There will be no killing here." He had no clue why he was even defending the card magicians. It wasn't as if he had anything to gain...Except avoiding pain. He looked at the magicians one more time.
"Shall we take it outside? I'd hate to have to take innocent lives..." Stalker/Knightclub was considered a hero among Clubs, and would definitely be difficult to beat. Cecil laughed at himself. Stalker had more and better weapons. How would he even stand a chance? But Cecil knew he couldn't just sit and watch people die. He also knew he could never take an innocent life. His spear was trained on Stalker, and he was ready to throw it at any time.

'Killed...? Me? Maybe, but not as a wizard...' Jack thought to himself between 'visions of pink elephants'.
"Hmmm..." Jack groaned. Fortunately, nobody had heard Stalker except them, which made things easier if he had to use his trump card. "You ruined my buzz. Look, there's no need to make a scene. In fact, you are in a rather bad position."
At this, Jack tilted his head over towards the gang of brawling drunkards and card players. "My friends. Even if we do knock the snot out of each other every game, they are dear to me, and it is the same the other way around. Good friends are hard to come by in troubled times like-- *hic* --Ah, 'scuse me, like these... especially in the world of us Clubs."

He swaggered a little, calling the barkeep for another round. "...between the ale, anger of the day, and idea that their pal, Jackie, is in trouble... even a guy like you wouldn't hold an ounce of respect for them anymore... it'd be something messy, and I don't wanna see that happen to them."
The ale arrived and Jack gulped his down. Ten rounds now. "So waddya say~ we talk like gents?"

"There's no need for your friends. I can easily take care of this man myself, magic or no magic." Golmur clenched his fists, the tension barely noticable in the suddenly expectant atmosphere of the tavern. A flame flickered across the edge of a finger but he stopped himself. It would not do to cause a scene. He had been found. If Morgemar found out, he'd -

Cold sweat ran down Golmur's face. He had to remove the evidence. There was no choice.

"Stalker; Knightclub, whatever you call yourself - you would do well to pray to the gods, as your time is nigh, else my name is not Golmur Norunsson. And now, I apologise, but everyone here must die, or my reputation is ruined." He kept no expression on his face as he spoke, but his face contorted into a twisted smile as he heard screams behind him, and tables falling to the floor. The purple flames which writhed behind him devoured the tavern hungrily, the ale adding to the intensity.

"This must never reach my master's ears. I bid you good day."

With that, Golmur left the pub, trusting the flames to finish his job.

The cloaked man looked at the flames. What he would have given to be a card magician...He couldn't think about that as he grabbed two random people and leapt over the purple flames. He felt his cloak catch fire as he landed. He chose to ignore it as he ran out the back door, the random people in tow. Once outside, he tried to roll to get the flames off, but it was no use. He threw his cloak off and ran, hoping nobody saw him.
As he tore through the woods, he realized he had dropped his spear. Shit, he thought. It was too late to go back and he knew it. He also no longer had a cloak. All Cecil could do was try to find a place to hide.

"N-n...NO!! Golmur, you sunnova bitch! What have you--" Jack was swearing loudly as the flames began to lick at his heels. Still intoxicated, his reactions were slower than usual, but he still could get out safely.

What worried Jack was that his friends would be burnt alive. Golmur may have been one of those extremist types who didn't care for anybody but #1, but Jack had actual allies and friends within the ranks of the Clubs, and he couldn't let those who he relied on-- and those who relied on him, the ones he and they together had occasionally gone out to do a good days honest work-- he couldn't let them die.

Still caught within the flames, which eagerly started to burn several people, Jack made his decision. "Screw this, it's time to pull out a trump card and an ace in the hole. Guys, this way!" He called, getting the attention of mostly everybody. Then, he shouted an incantation, his personal favorite, while focusing on the ground for a different spell. "Gelo Itaque Alieno!"

At the same time, he unleashed a cold frost from the burning floors, which became a mist. He could-- and should, have frozen the ground completely, but being drunk sorta hindered that. The air became chilled and heavy with water, dampening the flames, and extinguishing it around the ground and on the people burning.

Not that it mattered that those who had seen him break his cover had seen him. They were frozen in place, not by the ice magic, but by a different spell, the one he had shouted. It was his Card Spell, used to both freeze people in place and wipe their memories of his existence of that night. Fortunately, the end result was that things were always fuzzy for the victims, so he could also use it to alter memories slightly. The story was set up-- an arson, who had escaped, and Jack had arrived to help save the people.

Releasing the magic of his Card Spell, those who had looked at him (which had been the entirety of the regular bar crowd) became animated again, each slightly dizzy, but instantly reacting to the flames that still licked at them from overhead.
"THIS WAY! Out, and grab the wounded! Be careful, you may have inhaled smoke! Help the wounded!" Jack began to call out commands from the doorway, where he had made his way with one of the injured before releasing his magics.

The bar burnt down by the end of the night, and everybody thought it had been some punk arsonist, not Golmur, who they had coincidentally forgotten as a result of Jack's magic.
Nobody thought it odd that Jack was very exhausted by the end of the rescuing, and they all believed that he had only just arrived when the fire really started getting bad.
Several people were injured, and a few died due to the lack of proper treatment, but the majority survived. None were left to die within the tavern, as no bodies were found.

Jack was beyond tired, the use of his magic simultaneously, as well as his Card Spell, had left him more drained than usual. Almost passed out, he noticed that that one man, Stalker, was not with the crowds, and wondered if he had been influenced by the memory erasure.

((Pardon the time-jump, but you do not have to follow my time-scheme. If you have somebody still in the burning bar, and you want to, then detail how they got out, what thye did, etc. or what ever you wish to do.))

Still alive. Still here.
Those two phrases crossed Knightclub's mind as he perched on the rooftop nearby, watching the tavern burn, burn to the ground. No Clubs had died, due to that farce of a card magician, Personae, but Knightclub's pride had taken a beating.
As soon as he saw the flames, Knightclub had leapt, snatching hold of the rafter above him. Then, pulling himself up, he had kicked a hole in the weakened roof and escaped. Now, he was brooding what to do next.
"Stalker, I need you." He muttered. A ghostly image appeared next to him. It was himself, as he had once been as Stalker.
"What can I do, Knightclub?"
"I'm backing down. Take over the body;you're better suited for this."
"Fine." The image dissapeared, then Knightclub's eyes closed. Then, they snapped open. Stalker was back. And Gomur Norunsson was as good as dead.
Seeing the figure in his mind, another memory caught him. That other man, the one with the spear... the woods. The man would be foolish. He would think it an perfect hiding place. How wrong he was.
Stalker was in the woods within five minutes. He could hear the heavy breathing of someone running. Then he saw the figure. Drawing his crossbow, he spoke.
"I find it wrong to not know someone's name before they die. So, Card scum, who are you?"

"Card scum? I'm hurt," said Cecil between panting. He laughed insanely.
"You're not going to end my life so quickly are you, Knightclub? Oh, wait, you're Stalker now, aren't you?" he was relieved he knew so much. Maybe he could talk his way out of it without revealing his identity.
"Now, think about this. Why would I have a spear if I could use magic?" Cecil asked, picking up his spear. He didn't seem scared at all that his life was in danger. He pointed the spear at Stalker, then dropped it to the ground.
"I am not your enemy. Therefore, I will not fight you," he finished.

"And yet you intervened, Cecil. I could have rid the world of two more murderous faggots, but you stopped me. You lost me a fight. And yet, I suppose I could use you. Pick your fucking spear up." Stalker spat. "Come on. We have buisness to take care of. And I warn you. You probably know I don't fuck about."
Stalker strode off, but tripped. He went sprawling. Enraged, he got up and looked down at what had tripped him. He raised an eyebrow.
It was corpse. Namely, the corpse of a Diamond. There was a letter on the corpses chest. Stalker picked it up and opened it. It read,
Stalker,
I request your presence at my castle,
yours,
Noah Ducal
Lord of Hearts

Stalker was smiling. The Lord of Hearts had gone as far as to murder a Diamond to influence Stalker. Well, Stalker would show him...
"Come on. We'll take some horses and ride to the Heart Castle. I have an appointment."
((There you go, Insho))

Cecil picked up his spear. How did he know it was me? he asked himself. Then, he rememberd how he had to throw off his cloak earlier. Oh, he thought.
He followed Stalker, glad the man wasn't going to kill him. But still, how could he watch people die when he could feel their pain. When Cecil saw the dead Diamond, he froze. He hated seeing dead people, and he thought he should pray or something at least. Then, Cecil decided that since Stalker was moving, it was best to save his mourning for later. He started walking again, a little slower than before.

As they reached the town, Stalker looked around and drew his knife.
"Right, see those two horses there? I'm going to cut their tethers. You get first pick." Stalker was already moving, sneaking towards the horses, rolling, stretching out his hand, slashing through the ropes.
"Right, go,go,go!"

Cecil jumped on one of the horses before remembering that he's never ridden one before. It charged madly once the tether was cut, and it was all Cecil could do to hang on. The horse tried bucking him off and everything, charging at an amazing (to Cecil) speed.
"Woah, horse," he whispered in its ear, but to no avail as the horse kept bucking and running wildly. He pulled on the reign, so the horse went onto its two back legs in an attempt to get Cecil off. He held onto the reigns, feeling himself sliding off.

Morning.
Wake up. "Check,"
Wash face. "And shaved,"
Clean hair. "Nice and pretty for the women, classy for the rest."
Remember if any lovers were still there. "None... I think."

Noah Ducal was going down his daily-routine checklist. He had exactly 2.5 hours until the day officially began and any administrative processes would be necessary. From there, until the sun was square above the western sky, he would be Lord of Hearts, Sir Ducal. After that, he would, as per usual of that day of the week, have an epic gala, invite as many officials and VIP's as possible, and from the end of the party until sunrise, spend "quality time" with whatever beauties he could. Repeat schedule the next day, swapping the party with some other, semi-menial task during the night.

But that was, and is, then. This is now.
Noah, throwing on simple garb and grabbing his precious rapier from above his mantel, strode through the halls of his estate. Some call it a castle, but it didn't matter much, as long as there was enough space for his servants to live and for events to take place.
Making his way to the courtyard, now carrying a satchel of fencing gear along with his blade, he arrived exactly one minute ahead of schedule. His sparring partner (once teacher, until the "student" surpassed him ages ago) was there ready for him.

"What's the good word, man?" Noah said, stifling a yawn as he attached his head-mask and gloves.
"Same as always, sir," said his friend, with a laugh. "dull students with no sense. Never real fun until we get a good match going."
"Well said, well said!" Noah replied, laughing along. "Anyways, I expect some company in a short while. Should arrive in the middle of our matches, so I hope you brought the extra equipment I requested for the man; always play before business, eh?"
"I did indeed, sir... but, do you mind me prying into the identity of this man? You mentioned him before, when planning your party for the night--"
"No, no, no," Noah said, brandishing his weapon and getting into the ready position. "It is only fair to keep you guessing, it will make the surprise all the more interesting and amusing! Now then, at the ready... En garde!"

"Good morning, Lord Ducal."
Stalker had literally come out of nowhere. He had left Cecil on his bucking horse and approached the pair who were fencing.
"I was under the impression you wanted to see me. Did you kill him personally, Lord Ducal, or was it a henchman?"

Still dueling his trainer, Noah couldn't turn his attention away, but he did talk back as he fought.

"Ah, and nice to see you too, Sir Stalker." A clever parry followed by a feigned thrust and spinning slice. Noah's prowess at the blade was just short of legendary. "Now as for your last comment, I am afraid I don't quite know what you mean. As far as I know," A series of quick flits of the wrist, and his trainer's sword was somehow knocked away. He left his blade aimed at the man's head as he finished. "there shouldn't be anybody for death to claim."

Relaxing finally, he asked his trainer to bring forth the extra gear. "I was hoping for some sport before business. Are you familiar with fencing?"

Cecil's horse charged after Stalker, and it stopped right at the worst possible place as Cecil went flying. he fell face-first in front of Stalker.
"Oof," he said, forcing himself up and completely unaware of where he was. "Stupid horse." He wiped his now muddy face with his sleeves. Once he finished, he looked in front of him to see some dude in fencing gear. He turned around to see Stalker.
"Well, you two look like you were about to do something, so I'll just walk right over here." He started walking out of the way.

"A little...Cecil, do what you want for a while." Picking up a fencing sword, I sigh. This could be messy.
"Now, what is the phrase? En Guarde?"
