Court Records :: The Legions of Darkness: A super hero RPG (Join at any time) : General Roleplay

((GAH IM SO LATE. I'm sorry, Kenji has been devouring my free time :P))

Steel was about to answer Jacob's question, when they heard a scream, and he could see Jacob running towards the origin of said noise. Steel was still sitting in his bed.

"Oh, man. That's great", he said out loud to himself. "Probably the first time I try to start a serious conversation and-"
Suddenly, he heard footsteps. They were slow, even slower than walking footsteps. Whoever it was, they must have been fatigued. He was good at deducting this things from physical and sometimes even psychical signs, but he mostly kept it for himself.
Moments after that, a tired Exo entered the room, with a grim look on her face.

"Exo?", he asked, intrigued. "Great to have you here, but... is something wrong? Did something happened with Aria?"

He saw Exo answering him with a movement of her head; then a tear followed.

"E-Exo-?"

"Steel, I lost her... I lost Ophelia. I'm not sure where she went."

Steel was struck by surprise.
"Wh-what?! Ophelia? But, but... What?" He was having a hard time understanding the whole situation. Wasn't the problem with Aria?, he thought. And what could make Ophelia run away?
Steel tried to ask all this questions.

"Wait, so: You left the room when Aria came, seeming like if she was experiencing some sort of trouble, right? After a long time, you come here again, and tell me that Ophelia ran a-." He saw Exo was punishing herself even harder now. He stopped abruptly.

"Exo, what happened?", he finally asked.

Jacob chuckled and reformed. Putting a hand on her shoulder, he said "Alright, then, let's go. But why did you fall anyways?"

Grateful for Jacob's supporting hand on her shoulder, Aria began to walk into the base. "I...don't know. The memory thing...whenever I think of a certain name, it..." She struggled to find words to describe the agony. "It hurts. A lot."

"I...Aria was going to ask Jacob some questions, so they made Ophelia leave the room and visit you, but you weren't even awake. I figured she'd be lonely so I...I came here to join her," Exo answered. "She didn't seem like she wanted to be here, so I suggested we train. She told me that her power was something that didn't need any training, but I...I insisted that training might not help her drawing, but it's...Different to draw out of boredom than it is in a fight. That she'd have to learn how to be creative, but quick... "She told me she wasn't interested if it wouldn't help her find her parents, to which I replied, 'You're not getting any closer to finding them by staying here, either.' Then, she...Took off. I followed her, but I didn't have enough sense to stoop her. I figured she'd learn the truth the way I did...But she attacked me. I managed to keep on her trail anyway...Until she disappeared down an alleyway. Then, I thought she came back out, and I chased her. I didn't realize until we got here that she...That the Ophelia I chased was just a drawing...She's gone, Steel. And its my fault that now she's out on her own doing...Whatever she is doing without any help," she concluded sadly. "I don't know what to do now. I can't even remember which way we went."

Carmen: ~Rest Area, Bar~ Carmen lightly swirled her drink. "Heh, yes, you have that right..." She remembered why she had come to the Legion in the first place but she also remembered the things that had chained her there as well. Killey had been her savior when she was at the ends of her ropes in both her sanity and her faith in people. The war had done a number on her belief in people's best natures but her time in the Legion and the people she had seen in the aftermath of the Accident had been the cement. Things the Legion had done, things normal people had done... Things she had done. "And of course, the Legion helps keep us that way," she murmured. Shit, speaking too much. She realized on some level those weren't the best words to be saying if she favored not being accused of being a traitor. Or a weak-hearted idiot. Damn alcohol. She took another sip anyway.

(More fighting!) Jacob glanced out the window, and said "Uh, guys? We have a little itsy bitsy problem." Zarran glanced at his tranceiver. Flicking it open, he listened half heartedly to the status reports. he was half asleep when he heard "There are also thousands of zombies moving towards the enemy base." Zarran groaned. On one hand, the resistance were pests, but on the other hand, the zombies would infect the resistance, and that would be even worse. He sighed. Who to bring?

"Zombies?" Exo asked. "Stay here, Steel. You still need rest. We'll take care of this." She ran out of the room to where she saw Jacob and Aria. "Is there anything besides zombies heading this way?" she asked, pulling out her katana.

"Exo!" Aria breathed a sigh of relief at her friend's safety and pulled out her own poisoned dagger. It was familiar to her hand and she had no doubt that she could use it.

Exo hurried out after Aria, gripping her katana. If that psychic is there, then I can't give him any time to even try to control me, she thought as she ran around and cut zombies in half. It was so easy for her to do this, killing ten or twenty before they could even see her, but she was starting to get really tired. She still had not fully recovered from chasing Ophelia, so her strategy was to do what she had to do quick and get it over with.

Aria twirled through the zombies, killing them with a mixture of aerodynamic moves and her dagger swishing through their rotting bodies. Her usually innocent and trustworthy face was flecked with some scraps from the zombies. Seeing Exo faltering, Aria joined her, fighting the zombies around them as they advanced, not letting any get to the base.

Shadow had turned the corner just in time to see Dies go in to the bar. Frowning, he melted into Dies shadow, where he heard the whole conversation. Until he heard a beep. It was coming from Carmen. He reformed and heard another beep.From his belt this time He heard Zarran say, "The enemy base is being attacked by zombies. Thousands of them. Come to base 34." Shadow rolled his eyes "Do you want a lift? Cause Zarran seems pretty mad. No thanks to you." That last sentence was directed at Dies.

Steel saw Exo running away. He wanted to go, help, but not only would they not allow him, but just seeing him "punishing" himself for delaying the group would make Exo feel even worse. He didn't want to spoil her fun time. She needed this; a little battle helped everyone in those hard days. He smiled, gazed at the closed, opaque window. Luckily for him it was made of metal, although it didn't surprise him; after all, most things built after the Accident couldn't be made out of plastic, all resources destroyed... metal was the only hope in those cases. And he found that most fortunate. With a simple thought he opened the window, and peaked what he could from the battle. He even thought about helping from there... But then he saw Exo and Aria doing well enough.

She didn't know why she only just started thinking about it, but if this was a distraction, then they would try going around the fight and into the base. At least, that's what Exo thought they'd do. "Can you finish up here?"
