[In stark contrast to godmod, this RP is actually semi-serious. Doesn't mean we can't have fun, just not THAT kind of fun. :3]

⁄A deep cloud of melancholy sunk over Arxane as he leaned on the rails keeping him from falling into the water. He didn't know what was so tantalizing about the water. Maybe it was because he wanted to be anywhere but this ship right now. It wasn't really his choice though. The events that lead him to this ridiculous cruise kept playing over and over.

Sometimes they played through his mind differently. Sometimes he won the argument, and he was able to go about his life as normal...

...But that wasn't what happened, and he would suffer through this cruise... For her sake...

She insisted that he "go out and meet people" and "try to relax for once", which didn't make sense to him. She knew he hated people. Even though he was only sixteen, he felt he had a pretty good understanding of the human condition. "People are evil sacs of malice who have no concept of right and wrong unless it gets spelled out to them." In turn, he knew this beliefs made him an incredibly difficult person to be around for any amount of time, which is why he was so lucky he found her.

"You better appreciate what I'm doing, May..." he said to nobody in particular.

As he continued to look out at the sea, his eyes drifted to the ring on his left ring finger. "Then again, is it really that important?"

Wellington was aslo on this ship and saw this strange looking guy looking at the ocean...sence this looked strange to him he moved near him and said"hello person but i notice that you were looking out into ocean in a weird way so i am wondering whats the matter?"

what do i is called rollplaying, i really don't think i am richard.

Oh great... Already? Arxane didn't really want to deal with people right now, but he figured that he had to. It WAS a cruise ship, after all. He was bound to run into somebody sooner or later.

...But couldn't it have been later?

No... It couldn't have. Inhaling deeply and managing his best fake smile (which also looked rather fake), he turned around and said. "No problem here... The, uh, ocean, uh... Relaxes me! Yes, it relaxes me!" He quickly jammed his left hand into his pocket. "So, who made you come here on this cruise?"

[To those who care, and I'm betting there aren't many of you that do, I appologize if Arxane seems stand-off-ish. He'll warm up to people. Maybe he'll even *gasp* trust you after a while!]

Kit Merow curled up on a chair on deck, a book in her hands, a large hat on her head, sunglasses over her eyes, and a very irritated frown on her face. To her right, a tall, lanky man in shorts and a tank top was tossing a volley ball from one hand to the other. That was her stepbrother, Blake. To her left, a slightly shorter, childish boy in swimming trunks was trying to rub sunscreen on his back and failing miserably. Her younger brother, Jason.

"I can't believe you closed down the bar for two weeks to take a freaking cruise." She muttered angrily at Blake.

"Oh, Katherine, you've got to learn to relax." He patted the top of Kit's hat amiably. "You'll get used to this ship."

She huffed. "I don't like boats. You want me to relax? Put me behind a bar. And don't call me Katherine in public."

"Ship. Ship, sis. It's like a boat, but bigger." Jason handed the bottle of sunscreen to his sister. "I can't reach my back. Help?"

Kit slapped a little bit of sunscreen in the small of Jason's back and told him to go away. He obliged, running towards the on-deck pool. Kit leaned back and wiped the remaining sunscreen off on her pants.

"The ocean is just like a bigass hole full of water. I'm not running the risk of drowing."

Blake sighed. "This is a perfectly safe ship. It's not like she's the Titanic or anything."

"Do NOT mention that name again until we're off this freaking boat!"

"Titanic Titanic Titanic..."

"Jerk."

"Well, it's been great talking to you, believe me, it has, but I have to get something from my room... cabin... whatever..." Arxane flashed a quick thumbs up and forced a grin then ran off. "Glad that's over..." he thought as he ran to his room... cabin... whatever... "Nothing against the guy, but that was a little awkward..."

Maybe he shouldn't have been thinking just then. Maybe he should have been focusing on the ground, because at that second, he tripped on his own feet and flew forward for a second before landing in front of a group of chairs with a loud thud.

Arxane moaned for a second, as many people who land on their faces tend to do, then pounded his fist on the ground and yelled, "Dammit!" He was still for a second as he thought to himself some more. "I wonder how pathetic I look right now... A kid just over 4'10" tripping on his own two feet and flying about three feet and landing on his face." He rolled over slowly. "It's okay... All I hurt was my pride... And my fist... ow..."

Richard just got out of his room to play some tennis on the ship when he saw the same guy he met flying three feet and landing on his face, worried Richard when over to the dude and said"Hey are you all right?do I need to get a medic over here?"hoping the dude wasn't hurt too badly

Jotai layed flat on the deck, almost miserably, staring up at the clouds. The way she was positioned right now, she could have easily been labeled as a road block, if not for the fact that she was current in the middle of an unused shuffleboard.

Nobody played shuffleboard.

Nobody aside from Jotai, as it would seem. The stick used in the odd game was clutched loosely in her hands, though she seemed to be in no mood to play the 'sport' without anyone to actually play with.

Thinking about nothing in particular, the girl looked up just in time to see a kid land face-first into some chairs. Cocking her head to the side, Jotai watched the boy smash his fist into the deck. Wincing at the thought of it, Jotai shook her dual-colored hair.

Some people...

Sitting up straight, the 18 year old girl contemplated going over to see if he was okay, and almost thought better of it, but the insaciable teenager was just too damn curious.

"Oi! You okay over there?"

Arxane rolled his eyes. Any previous efforts he took to contain his bitterness were all rendered useless at that point. "Oh, absolutely..." Arxane said bitterly. "Not that I would know, I can barely feel my face, but hey, that's life. What about you? Do you hate this cruise as much as I do right now?"

He struggled to his feet and spat out some blood on the ground. The fall had caused him to bite the inside of his cheek. "Great... Just great..." he thought. "Hmm... so this is what blood tastes like," he said thoughtfully. He focused his attention back on the girl laying on the deck. Voluntarily, he assumed, unlike himself. He thought for a second... might as well. "I-I'm Arxane," he said.

He couldn't believe it. The only time he ever told strangers his name is if he was about to do them bodily harm, or if he was bragging about who he was. Yet here he went, just telling a strange girl he only just met, BARELY met, who he was.

He only hoped he didn't seem like a complete loser.

Jotai watched him for a moment, craning her neck so that she could get a full view of the teen. He must have taken a pretty bad fall, if he was spitting out blood, and despite herself Jotai felt some concern for the younger kid.

Of course, that concern was overlayed with undieing curiousity and the attention span of a gold fish.

"Arxane, huh? Cool name." She tried it on her tongue a little bit, rocking her head side to side. "Arxane, Arxane. Hey, mind if I just call you Arxy?"

Jotai pushed herself off the deck, a kind of tuck-roll and hop, getting up without every removing her hands for the shuffleboard stick. Dropping said stick, the girl walked over.

"Naw, I'm just messin', though I'll call you Arxy if ya like it." She extended her hand towards the teen on the floor, an offer to help him up. "The name's Jotai, by the way."

Arxane took her hand and stood up. "Arxane's fine..." He said awkwardly. "Jotai, right? Nice name... Nice to meet you... I guess..." He scanned the scene with his eyes for a second. He forgot why I was running in the first place.

He turned and spat out some more blood, being careful to only spit on the deck and not on anybody. "Don't worry about the blood. I bit the inside of my cheek."

He stood in awkward silence for a second, not really knowing what to say.

He scratched the back of his head for a second. "So... What's there to do on this ship? I'm new at this whole cruise thing."

Jotai let out a small sigh of relief, glad that the other teen wasn't hurt.

"I honestly don't know. I assumed we would get on the boat, and everyone would be smiling and having fun and laughing and there would be dolphins swimming near by and there would be a singing whale on the deck and..." She trailed off, her arms that were previously flailing about as she ranted now resting, one hand coming up to touch her chin in thought, eyebrows knit together as though she was really thinking hard about it. "..But that's just the commercials, right?"

She paused for another moment, before laughing, embarressed. "Sorry, it's just that my bro at home told me this whole cruise thing would be a lot of fun, and so far it's turned to be nothing but a whole lot of boring." She looked away at this, scratching the back of her head. "I tend to get a little bit excitable when I'm bored."

Shifting her weight to one foot, Jotai looked around at the people littering the rest of the deck. "Though I'm sure at least one person here knows what we're supposed to be doing."

"Wow, sounds fun.." Jotai trailed off, thinking. What the hell was she doing playing shuffleboard (ingnoring the fact that she was playing it alone) when there was so much more to do? It never occured to her that maybe she should actually get up and look around. As energenic as she was, Jotai was fairly sedentary by nature, unless with other people.

"..Alright!" Clapping her hands together, Jotai turned to Arxane. Stricking a dramatic, if not completely ridiculus pose. "Let's go asplorin'!" She stood like that, for maybe half a minute, before relaxing. "Where do you want to go, Arxane?"

Arxane pondered for a moment. He had no idea what he wanted to do. What did he like to do? He liked investigating things. Despite his young age, he was a seasoned detective. What else did he like to do.

He thought to himself for a second.

"Let's hit the arcade," he said grinning. He sincerely hoped they had one of those shooter games with guns you aimed at the screen. "House of the Dead..." He whispered to himself.

Amy was uncanally on the lowest level of the ship, she didn't have the money for the luxuries of these "other" people. She had made her way up to the top deck though, just to see what those "other" people lived. She poked around staring people and then fingering the necklace around her neck. She wanted to talk but wasn't sure who to talk to or what to say...society had never been good to her...so what should she say to these people who were....part of society. ".......Uh....." She wandered around the top deck aimlesly and then stopped at the railing to look at the water, it was so calming....

"Dude! Skeeball!" Jotai pointed at the arcade game. "They've got friggin' skeeball!" She paused for a moment, befor adding in afterthought, "On a boat!"

Grabbing Arxane by the sleeve, Jotai dragged the teen over to the line of machines. "I used to love this game! Wanna play a round?"

Clinking a quarter into the game's slot; the skeeballs rolled down into their container. The girl practically beamed with excitment as she picked one up. "I haven't played this since my brother left!"

"Go ahead!" Jotai smiled. Skeeball compitition was hard to come by, after all.

"It's okay, though..." Jotai's eyes shifted downward, unfocused in her memories. "He's fine. It's just... difficult."

Sighing, the girl looked up. "It's nothing, really. Just some problems between him and our stepfather." She shook her head apoligetically. "It's a long story."

With that, she tossed the skeeball, it sliding oh-so-gracefully into the free-bee 10. Jotai shrugged, unfazed.

"So how 'bout you? Any family?"

"Just Dad," Arxane said as he rolled the ball into the 100-slot. "Mom died when I was really young, so Dad took care of me. Man, was he ever tough to please... He was a CSI, and a damn good one. He taught me everything I know about investigating. He helped me find things that didn't wanna be found. It's the only thing he ever did for me... And what do I have to show for it? High blood pressure, at my age..."

He sighed and picked up another ball. "I've also got May back home. She's my wife-to-be." Arxane's face turned red. "People tell me I'm too young to go around saying I'm engaged, but... I can be really hard to deal with. If I can find someone who can stand to be around me for more than twelve seconds, I should cling to them like grim death. It sounds stupid, but it's true." He rolled the ball. 50 points.

"So... That's my story..."

Flash Simpson walked through the arcade, humming to himself the Super Mario Bros. theme. No matter what, he couldn't seem to get that song out of his head. Ahead of him there seemed to be a small congregation. Should he investigate? Or should he stand there and hum the Super Mario Bros. theme? The people seemed to be playing some game. Skeeball. Flash hated that game. No matter what, he could never get more than 5 points.

Flash walked up to the congregation playing the game of Skeeball. "Hi. Flash Simpson, with the Police Department, on a leave of vacation. But enough about me, who are you three?"
