((Alrighty, there have been two Gatewater RPs in the past, the first one was great and the second one never really took off. Hopefully this one'll work! (:

Rule time! Icky but necessary!
1. GRAMMAR AND SPELLING. Please try to post in the best English that you can. Obviously, slight infrequent errors are fine, nobody's perfect. But no in-character chatspeak or stuff.
2. No godmodding please. It may be fun for you, but it's obnoxious to EVERYBODY else.
3. 50-word minimum for posts. And try to keep the story moving. Fluff posts are just that: fluff.
4. Realistic characters please. But they don't have to be TOO real. I mean, this IS the PW world....
5. Mark OOC banter with double parentheses or something of the sort.
6. READ the posts before yours! It makes you look stupid when you think you're in, say, a room, when everyone else has moved on to the kitchen (x

((Hm...Should I or shouldn't I...? Oh, what the heck? I might as well join. ^_^ Any limits on characters? I'm only playing two for now, but I might decide to add others in later.

Name: Sheila Axiom
Gender: Female
Age: 22
Appearance: Sheila has long, blond hair and hazel eyes. She is never seen without wearing a dress that goes below the knee when sitting. She has a slightly pale complexion and is of average height.
Personality: She is intelligent and logical, but very closed off. She doesn't like discussing her past with anyone. Sheila is a generally uptight person, but she has a sense of humor, and jokes around whenever she feels things are getting too tense. She always deals with her problems head-on.
Brief history: Sheila was originally a defense attorney, but switched to being a prosecutor when a client of hers was found innocent, but was actually guilty. Sheila never forgave herself for the fact that the man had not only escaped, but is still on the run. She would do whatever it takes to redeem herself, and in her eyes, that is making sure everyone guilty of a crime is found as such.
Other stuff: She went to school with Ed.

Name: Edward Credo
Gender: Male
Age: 25
Appearance: Edward is tall, pale, semi-muscular, and has short, brown hair and brown, puppy-dog eyes. He's usually seen in his attorney suit, which is simply a black suit with a green tie. He always looks confident, even when he's nervous.
Personality: Ed is bold and brave to a fault. He doesn't always think things through and tends to be a bit rambunctious. However, he is kind and caring, and fiercely loyal to any friend of his. He does tend to take things too personally, and tends to shoulder the blame for everything, whether or not he should.
Brief history: Edward had always known he would be a defense attorney, but was struggling through school...Until he met Sheila, who inspired him to fully apply himself. Although three years younger, she was actually the one who started her career sooner. It wasn't until she became a prosecutor that Ed started his own career as a defense attorney. When Sheila became a prosecutor, Ed felt completely betrayed, and constantly hounds her for an explanation.
Other stuff: None at the moment.

Brief history: Ari's a bellboy at the Gatewater. She's been working there for six months now, and is very happy with her job.
Personality: Bubbly and cheerful. Very dependent on others. Eager to please. REALLY enthusiastic.
Other stuff: Goes by Ari. She was pretty slutty in the past, but is trying to change her ways.

But one day he was visiting the Kurain villiage when he saw a summoning. He couldn't debunk it. At that point he became even more obsessed, now trying to hunt the supernatural.

Ari yawned. The Gatewater had been so slow as of late. There were hardly any visitors, despite the attention they had recieved in the past few months, what with all the murders and such. But the owner had devised a new scheme to get people to visit. She had created an elaborate ad in the local paper, hoping to invite people into the newly renovated hotel. Ari had, in fact, been featured in the ad. She was the only Gatewater employee in the advertisement, and she had actually been paid quite a nice sum for being one of the new faces of the hotel. But that had only been released yesterday, so the visitors still hadn't come yet.

Ari twirled a pencil around, looking bored. She hated sitting at her desk. She was a bellboy, after all! She should've been moving around, helping people and being friendly! But no, there she was, cooped up at her desk. "Please let there be some excitement soon..." she whispered.

Age: 27
Appearance:6'0 and skinny, but is quite strong. Black hair that's always up in a ponytail and her eyes are brown. She wears sweatshirts, and one of those poofy chef hats, but not very often. Has a habit of putting on a navy blue bandanna whenever she's thinking.
Personality: Calm and energentic. She can make up recipes on the spot and they usually tastes good. Dawn also proscinate a lot and often gets into a bind for putting off things for too long.
Brief history: She's the head cook at the Gatewater Hotel during the weekends. Often helps out around the hotel, not just in the kitchen. Her food is widely talked about and the restaurant's usually is packed on the weekends because of her cooking. Dawn prefers to cook Zheng Fa cuisine and is very friendly.
Other stuff: Uh... don't tick her off, or she'll hold you at squid-point.

Dawn walked over to the bellboy's desk carrying a tray. She set it down in front of Ari, and smiled. "Hope you don't mind if I made you lunch, Ari. It's going to be lunch soon, and I at least want to give you lunch." She sat down in a chair that was near the desk and wiped her forehead with the navy blue bandanna. "It's amazing how many people come to the restaurant for lunch."

((Haha. Yeah. I haven't seen much of you since the DeKiller RP 2.0. :P YES! LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!))

Edward Credo, defense attorney, was new to this side of town. He was supposed to visit a certain Mr. Wright, but he was hopelessly lost. He sighed and rubbed his temples in the middle of the street. Didn't he have a nightmare like this? Then, he saw a sign that read "Gatewater Hotel." He had heard Mr. Wright's office was around there...Perhaps someone there would know how to find him? Even if they didn't, he was exhausted, and a nap at a hotel seemed inviting. His mind made up, he walked into Gatewater.
"Excuse me! Does anyone know where I can find Mr. Phoenix Wright?" he asked, loud and clear.

Sheila Axiom had seen the ad for a certain Gatewater Hotel, and decided it would be the perfect place for her to stay as long as she was in the city, working on yet another case. Being a prosecutor, she felt as though she had to be in two places at once. As she walked into Gatewater, she head an all-too-familiar voice.
"Excuse me! Does anyone know where I can find Mr. Phoenix Wright?" Sheila smiled and shook her head. Ed always did have a one-track mind. She casually took her baggage up to the counter.
"Room for one, please," she told the lady behind the counter.

"O-oh..." Ed stuttered. "Yeah. I have heard that! Haha..." He felt like he would die from embarrassment. How couldn't he know that?! Then his eyes fell on Sheila Axiom. Oh, God! Not her! He glared at her as she asked for a room, then decided that he needed to talk to her. Perhaps Mr. Wright wouldn't mind if he was a little late...He walked up to the counter, pushed Sheila aside, and said, "ROOM FOR ONE! ...Please."

Sheila was pushed aside by Ed and gave him a withering look. Then she casually walked up so she was in line behind him.
"Excuse me, Mr. Credo. I was here first," she said, clearing her throat.

"Oh, hello, Miss Axiom. I didn't see you there," Ed said with a dark undertone.

Sheila decided it was pointless to say anything more, so she just held her baggage and waited for Ed to finish checking in.

"Awh, thanks Dawn! You're such a sweetie!" Ari smiled as she started to eat the food Dawn had prepared for her. "At least you guys get more action than the hotel does..." she grumbled. Then a tall man walked into the hotel. She jumped up to greet him. "Hello, and welcome to the Gatewater! My name is Arianna, how can I help you? Oh, one room? Of course." She typed a few things into the computer. "Why can't Lydia just come back from maternity leave already?" Since the normal receptionist was away having her sixth child in as many years, Ari had to take on the receptionist duty as well. "Alright, you'll be in room 438. That's fourth floor, room thirty-eight!" She smiled and handed the man a key. "Okay, next!" She noted that the two people seemed to have some sort of relationship. "Oh, do you two know each other?" she said innocently.

"Thank you very much, Miss Arianna," he said, taking the room key. "Oh, you mean me and the lady behind me? No. We don't know each other anymore." He glared at Sheila once more, then strode off toward his room.

Sheila sighed. Ed always was terrible at being subtle. He clearly wanted an explanation from her, but he wouldn't ask it in front of strangers. Maybe it would be best if she just stayed in the lobby? She walked over to the counter.
"Yes, I would like a room for one, please. And would it be too much trouble for someone to carry my luggage up there? It's pretty heavy..." she said to Arianna.

"You're welcome! Enjoy your stay!" she said as the man walked away. Then she turned to the woman. "Alrighty, one room coming right up." Two seconds later: "Okay, you're in 440. Fourth floor, room forty. Oh, hey, you're righy next to that guy! Hahah that's cool!" She smiled. "Oh, I got the luggage. I'm the bellboy after all!" She ran out from behind the counter and grabbed the woman's luggage. "Ooof, this is really heavy! Are you going up now, or do you want me to go ahead by myself?"

Dawn checked that everything was ready for lunch when she saw that there was no seafood left. "! NOT AGAIN!" Dawn ran out of the kitchen and past the front desk and another man coming into the hotel. [i]Is is me or is the hotel getting a bit more business than usual? Dawn thought to herself as she rushed out the front door and pivoted on her toe to run to the grocery store several blocks down.

Ari noticed the new man walk in. She dropped the luggage, unfortunately right onto her toe. "OUCH!" she squealed. "GODDAMMIT THAT HURT!" She hopped over to the desk. "Hello...Welcome to the...Gatewater..." she said through her teeth. "Can I help you?"

Sheila seemed to pale slightly.
"Wh-what?! Right next to...I mean..." she stuttered. Then, she regained her composure and curtsied respectfully. "I'm sorry. I don't wish to go to my room quite yet..." Then someone else came to the counter and the poor lady dropped her luggage right on her foot. Sheila averted her eyes at the outburst. "S-sorry..." she mumbled, stepping aside for Michael as he asked if Arianna was okay. She held her breath as Arianna said it only hurt a little. Sounded like it hurt a lot more than a little... she thought.

Edward heard a scream and automatically jumped into his defense attorney state, dashing down the stairs to see what was wrong. Unfortunately, he didn't have the best of balance, and he soon tripped, tumbling down the stairs and landing right on Sheila's luggage. He quickly got up, brushed himself off, and said, "Is everything alright?!"

Dawn walked back into the hotel carrying a receipt. "Hey Ari, um, there's going to be a large shipment of seafood in about five minutes... so can you direct them to the kitchen please? There's..." Dawn glanced at the receipt. "I think about 4 cases of squid, 3 cases of carp, 4 cases of crabs, and a case of snapper." She looked up to see a lot of people in the lobby. "Did I... miss something?" Dawn vaguely remembered a thud.

"Yeah, I'm fine guys," Ari reassured them. "I just dropped Ms. Axiom's luggage on my foot." She looked down at her foot. "EW!" she screeched. It had swollen up and was an ugly purple color. Ari sunk down into her chair. "Maybe I'm not fine..." She turned to the newest man though. "But I will be. I'm sorry about that Mr. McGlen. You say you have a reserved room?"

Watching the wind, that was an unusual past-time. One he'd inheritted from his "father". Spacial awareness was an unresolved defect and he really did not care. Durgey's first day away from home felt new and scary. Knowing he mustn't waste his days with thinking, he finally decided to get off the bench and get himself into the hotel.

He noted the clean mat, that usually meant clean towels aswell. He entered the reception area and scanned for the desk, hoping he would not find it. But ofcourse he spotted it and decided to look aloof. Amost sidling towards the desk....

Ari sighed. "Okay, hold on one sec-" You could tell that her normally cheerful mood had been ruined by the accident. "Alrighty, room 442, do you need me to carry that?" She eyed his luggage. "Oh.." she said as Sheila wrapped up her foot. "Thank you, but it's alright. I gotta do my job!" She laughed feebly. "Oh, no, Dawn, it's fine! You need to go cook, or do whatever else you do!" She stood up and gingerly put weight on her foot. "OW!" she screamed, and sat back down with a thump. "Okay, maybe not the best idea... But I can't just sit around doing nothing!"

"Cameras? What are you talking about?" Dawn asked the man who was talking about 'hooking cameras up'. "Unless, you're talking about ghosts..." Dawn mused. "Anyways, I'm off to prepare for lunch." Then a delivery man walked in. "Oh, uh, can you drive your van around to the back?" Dawn told the deliver.

"Don't be ridiculous, Mr. McGlen," Sheila said irritably. "It was no angry spirit that caused this woman to drop the luggage, it was her being in a hurry that did." She sighed and turned to Ed, who seemed to just be standing there, watching her. "Now, Mr. Credo, make yourself useful and help set up this man's cameras. Miss Arianna still has to stay off her feet, and I will be busy carrying my luggage."

Ed scowled, but walked over to Michael.
"Where would you like to set up?" he asked. He would be much more eager if anyone except Sheila told him to help. Truth be told, he was always fascinated by ghosts and spirits.
