It is the year 2161. The earth is a barren wasteland, after the rampage of insane superhuman Apocalypse, and his band of supervillans. However, in a base far below the earth's surface, the superhuman vigilante group 'The Protectors' have survived. After thirteen years underground, it is time for them to return.

Background:After discovering his powers, Rob Digit ran from his home and formed a team of superhumans, on of which was Sam Arrow, who would later become Apocalypse. Rob named his team 'The Protectors'

Background: Sam Arrow was originally a Protector, working under the name of Shruriken. However, when Lightningbolt denied him partial leadership, he left the Protectors, swearing he would destroy them.
A few months later Shruriken returned, only this time under the name Apocalypse. He flew to the center of a city and literally blew up, causing the devastation that is now the Earth.
Weaponry: Carries one of his old Shrurikens that he has sworn to use to kill Rob Digit.
Any other info: If Rob Digit were to die before Apocalypse could kill him, Apocalypse would kill himself to meet Lightningbolt in the afterlife.

Powers: Power over electricity, Flight.

Background: Once a great supervillian, Finn once faced Shruriken, and came very close to beating him. When Shruriken became Apocalypse, he relocated Finn and gave him and offer of alliance. Finn told Apocalypse he would get back to him... then vanished, appearing only after the destruction.
Weaponry: Silenced Berreta Pistol
Personality: Cocky, carefree and arrogant. Just want's freedom to do what he wants.
Any other info: Finn actually has low level premonatic abilities-he had 'a bad feeling' the day before the destruction of earth. He sheltered, and therefore survived. He has no knowledge of these abilities.

She was nicknamed "Zero" after the tattoo on her chest. After she was discovered to have telekinetic power, she was almost immediately enlisted to "The Protectors".

Personality: She is quiet and painfully shy, but she is very intelligent and picks up on small details some people wouldn't notice. She is also very kindhearted, perhaps to a fault.

Force of Order - An attack that attempts to purge the chaos from someone. It has destructive qualities and tends to be used in close encounters.
Birth of Order - What this does is unknown. He has never used it, but it is rumoured to summon a god.
Arrow of Order - A long-ranged attack that targets life and hits it with power of Order.
Shield of Order - A seal that draws itself upon the Earth. Anyone who attacks inside or above that circle is met with extreme pain and cannot attack due to this pain.
Appearance: A male wearing a black cloak that hides his body, he has long white hair and has no emotion on his face. His yellow eyes seem to pierce the soul.
Background: Sator appeared one day. It was shortly after the attack of Apocalypse, when nobody came out. Sator wandered the Earth for many days and never seemed to tire or need neither food nor drink. He stopped near the Protector hideout and waited directly above it. Nobody dared to attack him due to the Shield placed on the earth around him.
Weaponry: He carries no weapons.
Personality: He seems to have no real personality. He never shows emotion and only judges people and never speaks unless asked a question he wants to answer.
Any other info: He's a borderline villain.

Powers: The bones of the deceased rise up around him. They follow him without question and follow his orders. He can force bones to reconfigure to make new creatures and they tend to take on the properties of their new shape.

Background: He rose from the ashes of the destruction, along with the other corpses of the deceased. His skin and body were entirely intact from his death, which was strange in itself. The fact that the bones of the dead now worked from him gave him ideas which sparked more ideas. He now lives in the basement of what was once a great skyscraper - it has now become a candle-lit cavern that the dead hollowed for Mortuus. Very few know of it or his existence, but he has good intentions at heart.
Weaponry: His staff has some weak power within it.
Personality: Due to being around the dead, he is somewhat melancholic. If angered, he calmly orders the undead around him to attack those who anger him.

11.45 AM, Protectors Underground Base.
The base was more of a lab, depending on which way you looked at it. Complicated scientific equipment was scattered around, and a tiny model of a fusion engine was burning a way. The only thing that stood out was the rack of superhero costumes in the corner.
Dressed in his ordinary clothes, Lightningbolt trudged down the stairs from his room. He went over to a kitchen and poured himself some coffee, then went and sat with a group of people at some sofas in a corner. Two of them were twelve year olds.
"People, the food is running low. I hate to do this, but we've got to go out."

The ruins of a city remained among the deserts of Earth. Skyscrapers stood still, halfway through their own destruction. A lone figure flew between them, high above the ground. Negative Vortex noticed a semi-destroyed supermarket, with some traces of food left in there - the freezer had eventually died out. "Life shall not be fostered upon this still planet. I will purge the necessities of this life from it." A small cyclone appeared around Vortex. It then dropped until the ground like a drill, destroying the ground in milliseconds and the former supermarket. The food within was destroyed, as Vortex moved on, eager to find the source of the remaining chaos on the Earth.

Mortuus advanced across the desert wasteland. He felt no need for either food or drink and neither did his companions. They were all wearing black cloaks and helmets which hid their skin - or their lack of skin, depending on one's point of view. They followed him, wanting to find out why he had brought them from their dank cellar to the desert. There was something about surviving humans - superhumans, who would benefit from joining him. However, he soon turned back. "Wrong location. Return tomorrow."

Tsunami looked at Lightning Bolt. "Go out?" she asked. "Why is that so terrible? If we wear regular clothes instead of super outfits, nobody will even recognize us."

"You forget... If we do go out... we'll most likely be questioned on who we are..." Said Verite. "After all... we really wouldn't work well in blending in..." She was the last person above the surface... and she nearly was found out.

Zero watched her companions talk. She formed a suggestion carefully in her head before finally speaking.

"...I think Lightningbolt should go alone to find food. His powers are well suited for this. I found these old things..." she fished two black machines about the size of a brick from her bag. "...two-way transcevier devices. I fixed them so that they'll work over the desert at great distances. Lightningbolt can tell us if there are any problems... and if things get out of hand a few more of us can offer him assistance."

"Well... he should at least wait until the sun goes down in a few minutes..." She continued. "Then I can use a sandstorm to cover for him much better..." She was waiting for someone to respond. "It's a thought anyhow..."

Among the ruins of the world, Aletheia continued along the endless march of corpses. "My how ugly you all look." She briskly kicked a skull out of her way. "This has become most boring... I wish their were humans to play with..." She began to reminisce of her earlier deeds. "Oh yes..." She continued down the block, practically dancing among the chaos.

"If its just me going out, I'm wearing my super suit. The friction from my speed will leave these clothes in ruins, and I love this jacket." A moment later Lightningbolt was back, wearing his costume. "Wish me luck."

Far from the Protector's underground base, a lone human was running in the remains of a city. He was breathing very heavily, like he was being chased.
Then, a beam of light struck him. He collapsed to the ground and lay still.
A solitary figure floated down behind him. He was dressed in the ragged remains of a super suit, and a tattoo of the letter A was visible on his left shoulder.
This mans name was Sam Arrow, but he was generally known as Apocalypse.

Zero showed Lightningbolt how to use the two-way radios and watched silently as he left the underground. She turned on the other two-way radio and changed the frequency to Lightningbolt's radio.

"Lightningbolt? This is Zero. Come in, Lightningbolt?"

"Lightningbolt here." His voice came across somewhat stractchy with a little static, but it was easy to understand.

"Good. Keep in touch."

She placed the radio on the table and looked at her other comrades.

"The radio has to stay here. If it goes any deeper then the rock around us will cut off the signal. Someone has to stay with the radio at all times until he gets back. I'll go first."

"Bad news, guys. I've come across a sandstorm about fifty miles from base, travelling at 20MPH. When it reaches us, It'll bury the base. Start packing. We're leaving. And this time..." A deep breath sounded. "...We're staying out."

Apocalypse took flight again. As he flew, he saw another figure.
"Another survivor?" He wondered out loud. "Well, that won't last long..." Apocalypse went into a steep dive, covering himself in fire, aiming for Nightmare...

Zero stared wide-eyed at the radio.

Leave...? And stay out?

In the three years of her memory, she had never set foot in the desrt outside of the base. Not since the day The Protectors found her lying just outside the entrance trembling, sickly, completely hairless, and wearing little more than a few scraps of dusty cloth. The endless sea of sand seemedlike a daunting inevitability. Had this day finally come?

"What? Leave?!" Tsunami said. "Okay. You go first."

Nightmare heard something above her, so she looked up and saw a huge fireball-like thing coming down at her. "Shit!" she screamed, catching the fireball with telekenisis and throwing it to the side, not realizing it was a human.

"Motherfucker!" Yelled Apocalypse. "Who are you? The Protectors should still be cowering underground!"

"Yes. I'm well aware," Nightmare said. "You're not a Protector, either, though, are you...Apocalypse?" She smiled under her mask. "If you kill me, you'll lose a valuable ally, so I suggest we both stop attacking. At least, until you hear what I have to say."

"Not necessary..." Verite turned to the others. "I'll clear the sandstorm... You guys will have to keep moving... look for a different location..." She reduced the rock wall to form a tunnel. "Go... I'll join Lightning as soon as your out of visible range..."

Zero felt herself calm down. Verite. Of course. She couldn't believe that even the thought of leaving the underground base had rattled her logic so thoroughly.

Tsunami internally smacked herself for forgetting Verite's powers she waited for Zero to get into the tunnel.

Nightmare waited for Apocalypse's response. Would he accept her as a partner? She tensed up in case he decided to attack again.

Lightningbolt appeared back at the base. It had been stripped bare, exept for his stuff. He rolled his eyes and about three seconds later five cases and three boxes where packed. He clicked his fingers and an airship drew up. It had a lightning graphic on the side, and was black otherwise.
"Old girl's a bit rusty, but she'll fly. Let's go. And Verite..." Lightningbolt breathed. "...good luck."

Apocalypse considered what Nightmare was saying.
"You have five minutes to convince me. Start talking."

"Keep that transceiver on you, Lightingbolt. I don't think we'll get much of a signal through the sandstorm, though."

She turned to the others.

"Tsunami and I can use our powers to help Verite, albeit to a lesser extent. Is this all right with everyone?"

Alter Ego: unknown
Powers: Telekenesis, The abilty to create fire and can breath underwater
Appearence: A reptilian humanoid. He has red and black scaly skin with a prominent lizard-like nose
Background: Hardly anything is known about Durge. Noty even Durge knows anything about himself. The earliest Durge can remember was when he was found by an archaeologist in the year 2003. He was kept under raps and was nicknamed Durge But scientists identify him as Varanus Sapien
Weaponry: Has a Katana that he took from the archaeologist who discovered him.
Personality: He is shy towards strangers but when he gets to know somebody; he lets all his emotions let loose. He really is a kind and friendly person but he prefers to let out his funny side. He enjoys jokes and he often quotes from literature to establish a metaphor.
Any other info: He doesn't believe Apacolypse can truly destry the world. For starters; The resurrection hasn't happened and neither has the 2nd coming of Jesus. Durge knows who to trust but he can get suspicious of people he doesn't know. Durge sleeps in a water tank...
