Larry nodded happily, following his spiky-haired friend. He loved how he wouldn't have to answer Phoenix's question- After all, he would never know he had been following him this whole time now! Plus, he was sure he cold help somehow- After all, what could Professor Fey and that little sister of her's do that HE couldn't?! "So, Phoenix..." he started, quite similar to a child, "What's going on? What are we looking for, again?" he asked, laughing nervously. |

"Larry," Phoenix began, feeling his head began to throb with a migrane. "I've already told you about it. My teacher, Ms. Fey here, wanted our help locating artifacts of the Fey herritage. More specifically, we are looking for the lost Magatama of Mystic Ami Fey, the founder of the Kurain Channeling Technigue." He was well versed in the technique, as he spent his summer with Mia and Maya learning about their culture. "We are here to find a piece of the puzzle that will help us find this artifact, and bring it back to the Channeling school." |

Mia rubbed her forehead. 'Naturally nobody was really following us, it was just Larry.' She thought. Mia took a good look at the passageway they were going down. It seemed they were headed further into the cave, away from the village. They had left Larry at the van in case something had happened and now that safety net was here with them. Mia had mentioned to her aunt that they were going to be looking for the magatama, but she really doubted that her aunt had even heard her. Meanwhile, the cave got darker and darker as they headed away from the entrance. |

"MAYA!!!" Mia was going to die down here from a heart-attack if people didn't stop falling through holes and walls. "What were you doing?" Shining the flashlight in Mia decided it was okay to venture into the little cove Maya found. "Geebus, between you and Phoenix, I think you two could find the Magatama." She said slowly venturing in. "Hmmm... Burial Chambers?" She shone the flashlight around some more. "That's odd. They should be sealed better." She slid the rest of the way down, landing next to Maya. |

Larry's eyes went wide as Maya screamed. He jumped, nearly hitting his head. Heart thumping at a million miles a minutes, he looked around blindly for the presence of his buddy, Phoenix. "Say, Nick..." he stared, regarding all of the man's previous comments about and to him, "Do...Do you think there are...you know, zombies or something in those chambers Mia was talking about?" Larry was nearly shaking- he did not like zombies. |

Mia looked around the chamber she was now in. "Wow, Maya. Looks like you found SOMETHING." She picked up a spider corpse. She flicked the flashlight over to the otherside of the area. There was more Kanjee on the wall, a big stone coffin, and another passage out. "Hmm... Phoenix, there's another passage down here, as well as more kanjee. I think we should go this way." |

She stared in awe at the kanjee. If only I could read it... Some luck she wound up actually finding something. Maya looked at the coffin. "Gee, sis, do you think this is a tomb?" |

"Zombies, Larry?" Phoenix repeated. "Please, there are no such things." Yeah, right Phoenix. You don't believe in zombies, but you believe in spirits possessing mediums and such. Phoenix leapted through the Maya-made opening into the burial chamber with Mia and Maya. He glanced at what they were looking at, seeing the kanjee on the tomb. Three kanjees were carved into the tomb rather than painted. This has to be important. He took a closer look at the carvings, trying to translate. "Nothing, it doesn't even form any words. More than likely some kid came here and thought it'd be funny to carves some idiot symbols into the rock." For some reason, he pictured Larry doing just that. Shaking his head, he stared at the carvings. "Not to mention, I've never even seen kanjees like this. It's almost like...." his eyes widened. "Of course! Mia! Do you have your mirror with you?!" |

"Er, sure." Mia pulled the small compaq out of her bag. "I almost didn't bring it. You don't think... They're written backwards, do you?" She glanced around the chamber. She Nick the mirror, she went over and lit it, sending the whole chamber into a flood of light. She turned off her flashlight and put it in her bag. |

Pheonix smiled. "That's exactly what I think. They used reverse kangee on the carvings." He held the mirror up to the carvings, and voila! The writing began to make since to him. "The painted kanjees simply tell who is buried here, but the carved ones...they tell of a 'location', at least according to the tranlation. However. It's incomplete. This means there should be other tombs around here with carvings as well, which should tell us where our goal lies." Phoenix grinned like a school boy. |

Mia smiled softly. It was great to see somebody so excited about the expedition this early on. None of her other students would have thought of using the mirror or being excited about the find, she was sure of it. She moved the torch around. "Well, we could try looking behind the tomb." She looked behind it quickly. Nothing. She glanced down the tunnels that probably led to other burial chambers, then thought of the tunnel they had been in. "Well... I suppose we should just continue on then. We could try one of the side tunnels, or we could return to the original tunnel we were in. What does everybody think?" She believed in group decisions, not any one individual taking charge. |

"Well...um..." he couldn't really make it out entirely, since it was still incomplete. "I can't give you a full translation without the full sentence. All It says at the moment is....'ack from t'....that's all we have so far. However," he glanced around the chamber. "We should be able to find more tombs with more carvings upon them. Then we could get a full translation." He reached into his satchel, pulling out the walkie-talkies he brought with him. "We could cover more ground of we split into teams. Maya, head with your sister to find out more. Larry, you're with me." He raised a finger before his friend could object. "No Butz, Larry. You're not even suppose to be with us, so do what I say." |

Larry nodded, while measuring his options. Nick had a whip. Mia and Maya didn't. "Alright, fine." he said to his old-time friend. The younger man took a quick glance back at the tomb and shivered. There just had to be zombies around here somewhere. Larry just knew it- After all, you saw them all the time on TV and the TV didn't lie. |

Mia and Maya started down the tunnel to the left of Mystic Ami's burial chambers. She had given the torch she had lit to Phoenix and er, Larry. She could have sworn that Phoenix had said his Name was Harry Butz. Oh well. Mia suddenly perked up, at the sound of what she thought was running water. "Hey Maya, do you hear running water?" She asked looking around to see if maybe there was an underground resevoir nearby. |

Maya listened intently. "I hear... something. It sounds like it's coming from that way." She pointed to her right. "It could be water. You think we should check?" Maybe it's another clue! Man, this beats spirit channeling for sure! |

There's houses built into them." Mia looked around for some more carvings when she realized she didn't need her flashlight anymore. There was light coming in from somewhere. |

"Wow," said Maya, "that waterfall's sparkling! And the lake... It's white in a few places." That's when Maya realized there was light. "Sis! Sis! Does this place lead outside?" She was getting more excited with every little thing they discovered. At this rate, she might just collapse at seeing the treasure. |

"Well, sure," said Maya. She looked around until she found a small rock with a somewhat flat side. This'll be good. But why is there rock skipping? She picked it up, angled her arm, and made the rick skip three times on the lake. |

((Thanks, I'm trying some shameless plugging to the RPG. Maybe we could get some more people to join)) Unfortunately, both Phoenix and Larry are not fairing as well as the Fey sisters. Many times they found themselves coming to more and more dead ends, and finding no other traces of carvings on the gravestones. "Let's take a breather, Larry," Phoenix suggested, sitting down on a nearby stone. He pulled a small container from his satchel, untwisted it, and took a few gulps of water. He handed the container out to Larry, offering him some. "There might not be anything in these rooms, Larry." Not even zombies, he added to himself. |

After ten minutes of walking in the cramped halls of the tomb, she could hear Phoenix's voice. "Mr. Nick!" She started to walk faster but tripped and fell into a trap. "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!! MR. NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK!!!" she screamed, flailing her arms. |

Phoenix looked around when he heard his name, and saw a little beam of flashlight gleaming in the tunnel. "Is that Pearls?" he said. Suddenly, he saw Pearl trip, and an opening drop below her. She screamed as she fell. "Pearls!!" Phoenix exclaimed, and immediately rushed toward the hole, whip at the ready. With little time to loose, he lashed the whip down into the hole, the end catching Pearl's arm and stopping her fall. Phoenix quickly pulled the young spirit medium from the trap, holding her close and panting. "Pearls....what are you doing here?! Does your mother know where you are?!" Pearl gasped. "Mr. Nick! Mr. Nick! I can hear Mystic Mia! Where is she? Why can't I see her?" She looked around and saw a grey metal box on Phoenix's belt. She took it and pressed the button that said 'TALK' on it. "Hello? Hello? Mystic Mia?" she said repeatedly. No one answered. She tried holding the button down and heard a click. "Mystic Mia?" she repeated. |
