It's May and around 70 degrees Fahrenheit on a semi-cloudy day on a quiet street in an apartment complex with few cars coming by. It's nice but it could rain later >D
The currency is USD]
She sat at the desk with her fingers intertwined and her silver ring catching the sun. Underneath shaggy-dog brown hair and black-and-chrome framed glasses, green eyes looked seemingly calmly at the passing cars. Very professional. Well, as professional as one could look seated on a lawn chair behind a crude stand of two-by-fours in front of an old apartment building next to the garbage cans like a toddler. But none the less, very cool.
Ice in the pitcher melted with almost suicidal quickness, and Sklarvv Shenejakot envied them. She had forgotten to buy a friend a birthday present and had to somehow scrape together nine dollars and twenty-three cents in lemonade-money quarters by nightfall (the present was ten dollars, really, but after going through couch cushions Sklar had been rewarded with some reject coins and some unmentionable couch crap under her nails). She had better love me forever for this... growled the failing entrepreneur, gnawing on her tongue

Damn, it's hot.
Lloyd Masters brushed his forehead in the manner most male models did, except he managed to do it in a way that made him look like he was scraping off a fly. The back of his hand was unnervingly wet. This wasn't the best weather to wear a jacket, it seemed.
One day I'll learn never to trust the reporters. They said it'd rain today, dammit!
Lloyd again brushed a short brown strand from in front of his hazel eyes. His hair reacted unusually to sunlight, drooping down as if to cover his eyes from the sun. An interesting natural reaction, true, but not the most practical.
His throat burned. The last drink he'd picked up was a soda from his fridge, at least a week past its expiry date. That was at least 4 hours ago, and warm days like this had a habit of draining the fluids right out of you.
Momentarily, Lloyd imagined coming across one of the stereotypical lemonade stands of old, where little girls offered drinks to passersby for nothing more then a quarter. It was refreshing, and it was cheap - two things Lloyd desperately needed right now.
Popping out of the daydream he did a double take when he realised an almost identical scene was taking place in real life.
Across the street, a girl was offering lemonade for precisely a quarter. Although not of the cheery disposition - she obviously didn't want to be where she was - something about the girl interested Lloyd. Maybe her unusual appearance had convinced him it wasn't a mirage.
Scrounging around his pocket he found a quarter, dirty and unloved. It was currency, it would do. Crossing the street, he found he wasn't the only customer - another man, with long black hair and well taller than him, had taken an interest in the stand. Lloyd chose to stand aside until the other man was finished.
We won...somehow. Townie victory on Day 12.
And so it begins.

I am a little low on cash... She ran back into the house, grabbed some pitchers, and made her way over. "Hey guys. Need any help?"

Drei walked down the path, clutching her messenger bag's strap, when she couldn't help but notice the mass of people gathered around a Lemonade stand.
'Most of them are fairly old for something like this...' She couldn't help but note, as she started staring at the group. When someone looked back at her, her head snapped the other way--she didn't want to be caught staring. In case she had, she quickly tried to "cover up" for herself.
"Erm...What are you doing?" She asked, despite the answer being painfully obvious. She fumbled, and didn't wait for an answer. "Ah...ah, may I help in any way?" She awkwardly manages to spit out.

Sklar looked down at the sweet, sweet currency and grinned. "A thousand-mile journey begins with a single step." The words from that poster in her fourth-grade classroom rang true. Wondering how much more poetic she could get about a quarter, she reached into the box of dixiecups and pulled out a random one with dinosaurs all over it and filled it for the guy who had given the sparkling gem of silver that glistened in the morning rays of sweet summer sun like a happy gem of awesome to him. Whoa. I am DEEP. "Thanks!" she said to the man, and then to the new person "Sure, if you want. But I need quick cash and we have to split even, so we really need to get going..." She pulled an old calculator out of her sketchbook portfolio she carried everywhere. "So far we have... Six-point-two-five cents."
The man on the coin wore a smug grin.
"It's gonna be a long day"

What could he say? It was lemonade, nothing special about it, but that's pretty much what he'd paid for.
"Good stuff," he said after he was done, handing the cup back. Something she had said before piqued his curiosity, and he had a question he wanted to ask.
"So, what do you need quick cash for? Let me guess - you forgot a birthday present or something."
It fell right into the idyllic cliché, but so did everything else she was doing. If I'm right about this, it'll take everything I've got not to laugh.
Bored and awaiting an answer, Lloyd turned back to the other side of the street. Another girl had seemingly taken interest in the stand, although she didn't seem wholly proud of it.
Lloyd grinned. Looks like that girl's share in the stand's about to go down again.

Yue sat down on the pavement to avoid falling over. And at the same time, waiting for anyone to do something about the engine breakdown or Yue might need to sleep on the car for the night. But that looks like a bad idea, too.

Overwhelmed by the swarm of newcomers Lloyd had to take a few steps backwards. As good as this girl's intentions were, he had nothing he could offer to her cause.
That's the curse of being average, I guess.
Preparing to leave, Lloyd made a mental note to tell anyone who'd be interested about the stand. It was the least he could do, surely.
