December 31, 1999- A new millennium is about to ring in throughout the city of Stanson. Many a house is celebrating, half due to the new millennium, another due to the realization that the Y2K bug is merely a sham. However, in the house of Edgar Nash, all is quiet, not a sound. Suddenly, a storm starts, and as the turmoil reaches it's peak, lightning descends from the sky, lighting the quiet house, and showing it's living room floor, usually a regal blue, now scarlet, blood staining the carpet eternally, the house's owner and son both lying on the floor, dead.

May 14, 2008- It has been nine years since the event known merely as the "Nash Incident" occurred, and it seems that no one even cares about the house much anymore, as the murderer was never found, and all eventually lost interest. However, life stirs once again within this house, but just what is it? A schoolboy? Treasure hunters? A common thief? It is unknown for now, so let's look inside.

2. No godmoding or godly/generic characters. What I mean is, you are not a vampire, or immortal, or some sort of superhuman detective genius. You are merely a normal person who is having a bit of bad luck.

3. Literacy. Not in the form of a full paragraph, but rather proper spelling and grammar. Also, I apologize if this makes me come across as a Spelling Nazi.

A cool breeze blew by Nathaniel as he stood in front of the open window, two acquaintances of his at his sides. " Go on, do it!" one of them said. " Yeah," #2 added, " Go on, climb up that window!" Nathaniel then glanced at them, then the window, then at the nearby birch tree. " Alright then, if it means that much to you." Nathaniel said as he began to slowly climb the birch, not looking down for fear of falling. After about five minutes of climbing, Nathaniel was able to put his hand through the window. " Alright then, I'm going in," Nathaniel called down. Silence responded him. Nathaniel then shrugged, and climbed through the window. However, as he turned around, he saw the window had stuck shut somehow. " ... Damn." he said rather loud, and his voice then echoed through the house as he stood in the open doorway of the bathroom of the Nash manor.

"No! Bosco!" Jinny shouted after the puppy. The little dog ignored her and ran around the corner. Jinny rounded the corner to find little Bosco scramble into a window of some old house. Not even bothering to read the "Do Not Enter" sign, Jinny instead looked for an opening into the house. After finding a fully open window, she climbed inside. "Bosco!" she called. "It's okay, Fufu Cuddly Poops won't eat you!" She looked around, but no luck; Bosco was somewhere else in the huge house.

Nathaniel, still standing in the old bathroom's doorway, heard only the words " eat you". ' Someone else is in here... ' he thought fearfully as his position became rigid, unmoving. After a few moments of this, Nathaniel regained his composure, and looked down the hallway both left and right, seeing no one. After assuring himself he was safe, Nathaniel cautiously made his way down the hall.

Jinny found a small bedroom, and peeked under the bed. "C'mon, boy, where are you?" Then she heard a loud CREAK as if someone had stepped on a weak floorboard. She hadn't noticed until then how eerily quiet this house was. "Hello?" she called.

A child's voice rang out, a timid hello echoing through the mostly empty halls. Nathaniel, in one of these previously mentioned halls, was able to hear this hello repeated for about five seconds and stood still for ten seconds more in fear. After he had been able to move again, Nathaniel began inching towards the origin of the sound.

Again, there was no answer. Jinny was starting to feel scared, which was immediately replaced with excitement. She could swear she heard a scratching noise upstairs. She charged down the hall at full speed towards the stairs.

So this is the house, huh? Vincent, or Vince as his imaginary friends called him, walked up the driveway... And inspected the windows of the large, creepy house. The wind whistled through the trees... It was annoying him. The windows were large, Gothic, crossed with weird patterns of unknown origin. Vince was intruiged. Opening the closed one (which was right next to the wide open one) just a crack, he slipped in, with some difficulty, and landed on his feet, unharmed, with some luck, and looked around him. He was impressed... The dust in here was different than the dust on the window. He clapped his hands once, and dust flew up everywhere. He coughed violently, punching his chest. "Geez... What a load of stour..." He looked around... He appeared to be in a hall. "Hullo, is there anyone here?" His voice echoed, bouncing off the walls impressively. He grinned.

Nathaniel jumped at the sound of yet another's voice, one that sounded strangely casual. " Holy-," he started, but then remembered that there was still another person in the house. Realizing that there was hopefully no wraiths or bogeymen of any sort, Nathaniel finally gathered the courage to shout out, " Yes, I am here, in the hallway in front of the bathroom, house's left side!" After shouting, Nathaniel grabbed a towel rail from the nearby bathroom. Just in case.

Jinny heard a boy yelling somewhere in the house. She stopped to listen, but she couldn't understand the speech; he must have been too far away. Then she heard some whimpering. Was that Bosco? She ran again towards the sound.

Loud footsteps were heard running away from Nathaniel's location. " H-Hey!" he shouted, now starting to run towards the fleeing person. As he ran, Nathaniel caught a slight glimpse of the family room, and saw a crimson stained carpet. " Huh?" he wondered, but as he stopped to look closer, the stain was gone, and he saw only a drab olive carpet.

Quince managed to get through the front door unnoticed. All he wanted to do was see the crime scene -- just once. After that he'd leave right away...or so he said. He checked the first room, but there was no crime scene from what he could tell. He went back out into the main hall, and suddenly, the lights turned on...
