Spoiler: Catch-Up
-Despite where this branching point literally occurs, you can assume you know the basic information like Adriana being Helios’ campaign manager. If you have any questions you can ask.

Bradley squeaked a little, "B...but you gave me and Violet more points that other people. Why would you want to make us more vulnerable than we already are?" He mumbled clearly distressed by the new rules. "What do you even want to get out of all this?"

"Yeah! You're just making us bigger targets!" Violet shouted, her voice cracking slightly. "What kind of sick game is this?"

Have I...seen this before? Helios wondered, his elbow slightly tapping into a lamp.

It was like his life flashed before his eyes. Quickly, he snatched his arm out and grabbed it, catching it midair.

The room froze. All eyes were on Helios.

“Whoa.” Albert blinked. “Nice catch.” He seemed genuinely impressed.

“Why were you up there? Trying to kill us?

“O-Of course not! Forget about it!”

He’s definitely gonna-

Helios didn’t know how to respond, but the next words came naturally. "I can see why you would all think that I had ill intentions while I was wandering around suspiciously during a point where the facilitator of this game was talking about murder rules! I did not intend to do anybody any harm, as all I intended to do in going up there was living out a little bit of a fantasy of mine that involves talking on a balcony to a crowd and accidentally bumped the lamp which was right on the edge. It's horrifying to me that anyone could have been hurt, and I'm sorry that I did not immediately explain what happened to you all so that you could feel safe, I was trying to keep everyone calm by telling them to forget about it, but I can see how that didn't really address any concerns head on. If I could do the situation over again, I definitely would have carefully and safely joined the group immediately when Null started saying something so that everyone could feel safe and be safe, and I think from now on I'm going to be very mindful of the well-being of all of you. In that situation, I was very irresponsible, and thank you Midge for holding me accountable. Again, I understand the level of distrust I caused, and I absolutely promise this is the last time I'll ever do something like this."

“....whatever.” Midge said. “Maybe I was just being paranoid.”

“Huh.” Adriana laughed. “Couldn’t have written it better myself. That was very eloquent.”

“Hmph, yes.” Helios muttered, putting the lamp back. “Anyway, moving on. For this election I don’t think we should vote for Violet, or me either. Something like Bradley, Ms Montin, or Ghost should work.”

“You’re conceding to a kid?” Teddy eyed him suspiciously. “That doesn’t seem like you.”

“I think he’s right actually.” Violet murmured. “It’s best if we just pick one of those three...and whoever gets the second most amount of votes will matter too.”

Bradley narrowed his eyes, looking between the lamp and Helios himself before nodding to himself and concluding that Helios had not been trying to murder them all. "Well...if you are sure, I'm not quite sure I understand why but I don't mind being a leader." he said blushing slightly

"Well, those seem like fine leaders. I guess I'd rather not have Ghost as our leader though, considering they don't have quite the same motivations that the rest of us do," Midge opines apathetically.

"I guess as long as she's down with it, I'd like to vote for Emma," she adds. "She seems pretty responsible and all, but I'm sure you'd be great too Bradley."

"Huh. Nice speech, dude", Albert compliments Helios. "That was kinda impressive. I guess...for now, either Bradley or Emma has my vote. Whichever, right? ...Though if Emma is the popular opinion, I guess I'll vote for her for now."

"At this point I doubt it needs saying, but, I'm happy not being leader," Ghost spoke up timidly. "A good leader is someone everyone can trust, and my... circumstances mean I can't blame anyone for doubting me. On that note, I also think Emma would be a good leader, she's responsible."

Adriana nodded. "It's like I just said a few seconds ago-- Voting for Ms. Montin is way more sensible than just foisting all our responsibilities onto a chi..." She paused. "... chivalrous teen like Violet!"

“Well, I guess the leader is settled,” Teddy shrugged. “But if we also need to decide second place, I’ll vote for Bradley.”

"Leaders have been decided....tentatively" Null announced.

"Emma. You will choose teammates first and fourth. You also can still vote."

"Bradley will choose between going second and sixth or third and fifth. If Emma votes for Ghost, then Bradley and Ghost will play rock paper scissors to settle the dispute."

"Does that mean we can't choose who we want to go with until the all the leader votes are settled?" Emma asked. "Either way, if everyone is fine with Bradley getting the choice, then he has my vote. And I'm fine with being leader, if no one wants to change their vote now."

"I mean, it's a little strange that people seemed to know how this all worked. But it's not like I'm about to change my vote," Midge grumbles to herself.

"Alright, I think that settles things nicely," she adds, but her mouth twitches nervously, seemingly anxious about how things will turn out.

"Alright." Emma looked around at everyone in the room. "I don't have any strong feelings about who to go with either way, so...Mr. Blaketon?" She said, turning to him. "If that's fine with you. I don't mind going with anyone, as I said."

Emma nodded. "Yes, if I understood Null correctly you just had to choose anyone you wanted to go with, unless you decided to go third."

"I'll pick...Midge next." She said. "So that's one team, unless someone has a problem with any of these choices."

Bradley puffed out his chest doing his best to look as heroic as possible "You don't need to worry Miss Midge I'll take care of everyone!" He said with as much bravado as possible "Or....at least as much as is needed...I'm not quite sure where we go from here." He muttered.

Teams:
Emma, Albert, and Midge
Bradley, Violet, and Helios
Ghost, Adriana, and Teddy

Soon after, the middle door on the top of the staircase undramatically opened.

"Oh!" Ghost jumped in surprise. "Well, alright then. Let's go."

The very first room they found themselves in was...a medium-sized gymnasium. It looked like one you'd find in a high school, or perhaps a middle school. A ball bin was nearby with a wide variety of options, as well as an equipment locker with about anything you could imagine for sports-related activities.

"How...fun?" Adriana frowned.

It did seem kind of fun to some of the people, but now wasn't really the best time to play games unfortunately.

"This is a bit out of place, isn't it?" Emma observed, noting a chess table set up just outside the sidelines.

"Nah." Albert said, running his hand over it. "Chess is as much a sport as any sweaty, testosterone-fueled-"

"Al, shut the fuck up." Teddy sighed, eyeing it more closely. "Looks like there's a keyhole on the chess clock."

"If only we had a key." Violet thought back, trying to see if she could remember something.

"Well, it says 'THE ENTHUSIAST', so it's probably related to that."

"We'll add that as something to look for then." Ghost decided. "Let's continue."

After exiting the main door of the gym, the hallways began to split off in several directions. Most of the doors were locked, but some had scanners on them. It appeared they opened if the right team inputted.

It didn't take long for everyone to find an appropriate door. The search for vaccines had begun.

[Some posts disappeared this might show up as a double post later idk]

Eventually, two of the teams ran into each other.

“Emma!” Ghost shouted. “You found a way out?”

“Yeah.” Emma nodded. “We were in some kind of Biology Research Center.”

“We were in a bedroom.” Adriana explained. “Not quite as interesting I suppose.”

“We should find Bradley’s team.” Teddy decided. “I don’t like that they’re not here.”

Everybody headed in the direction of his team’s room.

Spoiler:
*garbage dump description*

Bradley’s team was doing…fine. Bradley was playing around in a crane and Violet was driving a forklift. Helios was standing up on the staircase by the entrance, far from the heavy machinery.

“What?” Helios said in response to the judgmental looks. “I told them no. Kids. They don’t listen.”

Violet jumped out of the forklift at the sight of the group. Bradley remained playing in the crane.

“Bradley? Maybe you should get out.” Teddy was getting nervous seeing the arm swing around.

“I don’t wanna.” He swung the arm hard into a mound of garbage to the right. “Oops.”

“Bradley, get out!” Teddy shouted.

Bradley pouted and got out of the crane, walking towards the group. But he hadn’t noticed the mound of trash he had hit was now shifting, and about to fall towards him.

“Bradley, move!” Ghost warned.

“Huh?”

Quickly, Ghost ran and pushed Bradley out of the way. Heavy trash fell where he had been standing.

“Ghost!” Adriana shouted. “Bradley?!”

“I-I’m fine.” Bradley rubbed his rear in pain.

“I’m ok too.” Ghost nodded.

Violet’s eyes widened. “U-Uh, Ghost? Your suit…”

It appeared he hadn’t gotten out unscathed. There was a small, almost unnoticeable tear on his right sleeve.

Bradley gasped picking himself up from the dirt glad for the rubber suit protecting his body as he heaved out of the muck.

"Ugh...what a mess...he muttered as he moved over towards the others suddenly taking note of Ghost and the pile of trash. " T-thanks" Bradley says with effort before his eyes fall on the gash in the suit. "Ghost?" He said a hint of panic creeping into his voice as he used his own protective suit to cover the hole. "This will be alright won't it? We can patch it using one of the other suits here right?"
