"Ah!" Sir Cardor jumped. "Sir Suspector, you may have stumbled upon the answer! If Sir Slaughterer manage to deduce what my code was and then managed to overhear the jingle the same way Lady Kagayaki did, that's how he activated the floods while Sir Sherlock was in the basement!"

"No nothing. He feigned surprise at the earthquake, and he sounded scared when he heard the gunshot. I guess I he wasn't though. He never opened the door with his watch, he just watched Penny and I mess with it for like half an hour."

"As far as I can tell the only thing John knew about what was happening anywhere else were the jingles and the gunshot. We set off the sprinklers before stuff even started happening so they couldn't have been a signal."
