And then the boy inspired others by starting to play chess straight, and beating the masters on his own terms!"
Ryuji smirked. "Truly an inspiration. I thought I could channel some of that inspiration into a chess game with Alchie...surely, if I could gain the knowledge and skill to best Alchie in a chess game, I can truly consider myself applicable to all of the performing arts."
Ryuji then realized his character change, and returned to normal, "b-but it doesn't matter!"

"M-maybe," Ryuji said. "B-but, the way I phrased it would assume something happened between the killer and Karega or Jay. Karega hasn't really talked to anyone, and I don't know where Jay has been for the past hours, a-and I can't really link the letter with Karega's actions before 1:30 AM either."

"I asked Jay about this twice, and he made it clear that he didn't actually remember the time when he was in that room. So it could well have been around 1:30. And... the letter may explain why Jay remembered 'words' so clearly."

SiRReN pursed her lips at Solomon. "I'm not saying you did it, but here's where everyone was around the time the bell rang:
Bell rings at about 04:00
Ryuji, Alchie, Cesar, and Flo are still at the soccer pitch playing a new game
Me, Van, and Subaru are outside the classroom door
Matt and Charlie are near the cafeteria having been listening in on me, Van, and Subaru
Sayako, Arthur, Sakura, and Crimson are in their rooms, verified by the fact that when the bell rang they all met up in the dormatory hallway and went to the classroom together
Jay is in the kiln
That's 14 of us accounted for, unless Jay is lying about being in the kiln. Number 15 is Karega, who was dead in the classroom, and number 16 is you, who arrived at the classroom last. You arrived alone. It is not outside the realm of possibility that you are lying about being in your room. You've been going to the basement a lot, fiddling with the pipes. It doesn't sound odd to me that if, when you tried to take a shower at 2am and found that the water wasn't working, you went to the basement to check out why it wasn't working.
This is all stringent on the idea that Jay isn't lying," she iterated again. "But if Jay really did hear footsteps outside the kiln when the bell rang at 04:00, it could only have been you."
SiRReN listened to everything that was going on and nodded. "That might explain why Karega looked spaced out when she came to the soccer pitch. If she was expecting Ryuji to be at the classroom at 01:30am and planned to kill him, him not showing up derailed her plans as well. That may be why she came to the soccer pitch at all."

If he already had the black paint, someone would have noticed. After all, that would be weird… even for Cox. Please stop making me defend Cox…"
"With the letter, I'm guessing they burned it or shredded it with that papercutter once Jay ruined their plan. Otherwise, they could just have claimed to have 'conveniently' found it lying about or something."

"You know the 'A' on Karega's hand? Pretty sure that's how they intended to pin the blame on you. First you have the letter that was meant to be for you, then you have the A on Karega's hand - your name's initial. I think so, at least."
