"Why should I give a shit, Vi?" Albert looks at her coldly. "Why are you even crying over Care-Bear anyway? You've no idea what he's done. He deserved to die. My only regret was that I wasn't the one to kill him myself. Anyway, I don't really care. You're children, you wouldn't understand a thing I say. You all get too emotional over animals. Dogs 'n bears, I say. Not particularly worth caring for."

He turns to Midge. "Well then, Clara. What are you going to do? I see you still haven't killed Pres yet, what's up with that?"

"They got Emma. I don't care what the future is if she's dead in it."

"I don't have a plan, we can look for the key I guess. Or you all can figure out who took the tranquilizers and killed Einstein, and then we can take them out at least. Or we can do both."

Midge shakes her head, still not letting go of Emma.

"Can we all just try to get along for at least a few minutes?" Helios asked, leaning back and clutching his head. "I don't think we'll be able to find that 7 Key or do much of anything if we're all constantly at each other's throats..."

Emma seemed to be thinking about something for a while, but she nodded at Helios after a while. "We don't have any obvious way to progress right now." She looked towards Bradley and Violet. "Both of you can get one child vaccine at most with the current trial. Whether you like it or not, we have to cooperate if we want a chance to get out of here."

"Never!" Bradley shouted "You killed Ghost! And maybe murdered Einstein! I don't want anything to do with you at all!" He protested from the forklift clearly distraught.

"Where is that leader? They're supposed to know I went back in time too," Midge mutters to herself aimlessly. "These people were chosen because they must have some sort of impact on the future. Emma's chairman of the CDC, Albert is an inventor of time travel, I'm the last of the resistance, Helios is the king of the U.S., and Adriana helped him get there probably... I'm not sure why the others are here..."

She kicks around some junk, as if she's looking for something.

"Hey, so do we maybe think we can use the pod thing to slow down the virus? That sounds like it might be our best bet for somebody."

She grips the knife, still on full alert.

"Th-that won't work!" Bradley piped up from the forklift. "The thing was completely in pieces when we found it. Its only been loosely put back together but its still just as smashed up and defunct as when we found it."

"You...you should probably tell Miss Null you don't plan on killing anybody if you aren't going to. We might all relax a little more then if the trial is stopped." He suggested.

Albert still coldly stares at Violet. “He deserved to die from the beginning. You even got any damn idea what he’s done? Still…” He suddenly gives a strange chuckle. “Now you know how it feels, kiddo. To lose someone you care for. Isn’t that just fitting?”

He turns around. “Anyway, let’s get real here. If any of you bumbling morons wanna get outta here, somebody’s gotta die. Without that happening, no vaccines are going to be given, meaning you all will die from Blight. So, Clara.” He gives her a smirk. “If you wanna save someone like your darling Em, you gotta make a sacrifice. Otherwise, all that stuff about ‘saving the future’ you keep talking about will go to waste.” He leans against a nearby wall, sneering at her.

That seemed to have struck a nerve with Adriana. "Whatever beef you seem to have had with Teddy, Violet did nothing to you, you sycophantic dweeb. Unless talking down at grieving little girls is your thing, you should check yourself. Besides, if I were you, I wouldn't be antagonizing Midge-- Helios has like 80 pounds on you, and she still was able to get him into a compromising position."

"SHUT UP!" Violet screamed. She pulled a rock out of her pocket and threw it at him. Her whole body was shaking, mostly from anger. "What the hell are you even talking about?! He never did anything wrong!"

The rock hit Albert on the head drawing blood out.
It oozed gruesomely across his mug, but he didn't even flinch. He simply gave a cold smile. "Heh. All that pure rage... Doesn't it make you wanna kill me? Not that I even give two shits about that. Unlike the rest of you, I don't fear death. It's an inevitability in this game. If Clara wants me dead, it's not like I can even stop her. It'd make for an amusing punchline, to die like this...like a pink ping pong ball. My agenda's already been dealt with thanks to Em, even if it wasn't for the right reasons. If anyone here wants me dead, then kill me. If you've even got the balls to do so, at least."

"I also find it hard to believe you even cared about Teddy, Violet. Especially if you didn't even know who he was."

"Heh. You really don't know, do you?" Albert smiles sinisterly, blood reaching his mouth now. "Well, I'll keep it short and to the point. Teddy Bianchi's a mob boss. Bottom of the barrel scumbag. Not someone you would wanna mess with. I had the "pleasure" of being one of his one debtors, I'd know. But if you can't pay off the money of time, you're screwed. Your life gets ruined, and there's no coming back. Is it really any surprise I wanted that bastard dead now?"

"Wh...What?" Violet was startled. "N-No, that's...I didn't...but he's..." She stumbled over her words before finally finding her footing again. "W-Well, how do you know that? You're probably a criminal just like him! Y-You deserved whatever he did to you!"

Albert shakes his head. "I'm just a scientist, Vi. A mad scientist, sure, but a scientist nevertheless. Care Bear conned me into making me gamble 140 grand, and he made me pay for it. I lost a lot there. I had to sell a good deal of my possessions, but it still wasn't enough. And then, when I couldn't pay anymore, he did the unforgivable. He made his fucking goons kill my brother. Just like that, he was a corpse on the floor. We were just having lunch in the park, and then he died. Say whatever you want about me, but I don't think he really had that coming to him, you know? So that's why Care Bear deserved his fate. Good fucking riddance, am I right?" He gives a rather derisive chuckle.

"Shut up! Stop upsetting her!" Bradley shouted from beside Violet "No matter what Mr Teddy did in life, no one deserves to die here! Not like this! Not in this game!"

Bradley paused, his eyes watching Albert and the others carefully "You can hate him if you like but no one deserves to die here in this twisted way." He gave a scathing look at Emma briefly "So just shut up and leave us alone you Bully!" He shouted at Albert.

"Poor Sherrington... It doesn't seem like Violet's really denying either. Like he's really irritating, but... just wow. Plus, I still have to look out for me and Emma..." Midge grumbles going through some trash in front of her.

"Okay, well here's what I'm thinking. When we went to start my trial, all five of the adults were together in the bio lab, and everyone knows Violet and Bradley were together in the garbage room. Violet says she heard barking and left the garbage room, so Einstein was still alive when the five of us were together in the bio lab, am I getting that right?"

"Should we check on Ghost and Teddy to see if they're still dead?"

"N-No!" Bradley protested Midge's suggestion.

"Violet wasn't here the whole time...it was just me in the garbage room. When I heard about your trial I blocked the door using the junk. I...I buried Ghost and Mr Teddy as best as I could. They're dead for sure. I've not left this room." He said patting Violet on the arm to try and comfort her.

Midge gives Bradley a wide-eyed expression, giving a high-pitched and dissonant laugh, "Excuse me? What does that mean? There's only nine of us here, you know. Five of us were together when it happened. Now you're claiming that the dead stayed dead."

"Bradley, I'm not seriously gonna believe you or Violet decided to kill a dog, that doesn't make any sense, so tell me the real truth about where those bodies are."

"I dunno, kid. Feels like poetic justice got him to die in such a gruesome fashion after all the shit he's done, but if you wanna be like him and deny all of that, not like I can stop you." Albert shrugs.

"Quite frankly, I don't really see the point in finding out who killed that little cur either. What difference does it really make in the end if one of us has a vendetta against dogs or something, again?"

"Well, it would be abnormal behavior for humans to kill a dog. I don't think it would be that abnormal for a meat puppet though. Plus, maybe the dog was silenced by something, you know, who didn't want people to know it was still alive or something."

Midge's eye twitches and she thumbs the side of the knife.

"I think it means something, at the very least."

"Are we sure Einstein was even murdered in the first place?" Helios asked, "We couldn't find a cause of death, so is it possible that he just died of something else? Like, natural causes? It seems kinda ridiculous...but just throwin' that out there."

"I don't think any of this fucking matters." Albert groaned. "It was a dog. Someone killed it, end of story."

"But figuring out why someone would do that is what's important." Midge mumbled.

Emma looked deeply at the ground. "Maybe..." She stopped, as if remembering something.

Flashback wrote:
“We can find the ‘7’ key, maybe.” Helios said, examining Ghost and Teddy’s bodies.

“What if it was Teddy’s trial?” Emma asked.

“Shouldn’t matter. All we need to start them is his bracelet.” Helios nodded. “Ghost’s bracelet is broken, though.”

"Actually...how did you know that, Mr. Tesla?"

"Know what?"

"That we can start a dead person's trial with their bracelet."

Bradley nodded in agreement "It's awful that someone killed Einstein." he sniffed slightly "B-but...with the time we have left we should probably focus more on finding vaccines and if that means doing more trials then we should...otherwise me and Violet are just going to leave and try and find some out there." he said gesturing to the door.

Helios gave Midge a weird look, likely due to her crude attitude. "Well, anyone who put in the wrong key got electrocuted pretty soon afterwards, right? I personally doubt Null is just managing to flip some switch to activate the current right when someone puts in the wrong key...but whatever floats your boat."

"No come on, you didn't just say that with one hundred percent conviction for no reason. Null knows who's dead. It shouldn't work if a dead person tries to open their trial," Midge says. "There's even supposed to be a mechanic that triggers when somebody kills someone else, and yet we can just trick it into thinking somebody who's dead is alive?"

"Seriously though, if we can just trick it I have a plan, but I need to know how you know that."

Emma looked at Violet as she walked towards the door, knowing she alone probably couldn't convince her to do otherwise. She turned to the others. "Maybe we should just see if we can test what Helios said about the bracelets. We're not making any progress here, and it would be a bad idea to split up with this trial still ongoing."

"Bradley, I was with Albert, Helios, Adriana, and Emma the whole time. Nobody snuck away. The others can confirm that."

Midge eyes Violet intently, and slowly shifts her stance.

"Take lots of care, Bradley."

"Helios, I need to know why you knew that. Obviously Null doesn't really know whether or not any of us are dead, if your theory is correct, do you get what I'm saying?"
