"I think the timelines make it possible that the person who broke the stair is also the one who killed KArega," SiRReN said.

"The power went out as Subaru was leaving his room, which is when the step would have been broken. So Subaru had to walk from the dorms to the gym hallway. If that person had paint on their shoes, it would explain Charlie smelling paint, but it still doesn't explain how Matt didn't see them unless Matt and Charlie were distracted because they were talking with each other.

"I'm sorry this is coming up so late. I know nothing about the basement because of my situation, but if we're about done talking about it, maybe I can hope for another epiphany... Anyway, man I really wish we could sit down in here. My foot's been bothering me the whole ti--wait..." Jay used the side of his podium to remove his shoe. Reaching inside it, he pulled out a folded piece of paper.

"How did I get this?" Jay asked himself. He read the note aloud, "I don't want to leave things the way they were...please meet me in the classroom at 1:30 AM."

"Did I...? I did, didn't I?" Jay muttered. His head was swimming as a flood of memories came back.

Jay looked down with regret and admitted, "Okay, I... peeked at the note. Damn my curiosity. It didn't even matter to me whose door it was under; I just saw a corner sticking out of the door. I thought maybe there'd be some words on it. I was correct. It was the message everyone knows already. I guess I hid it in my shoe. I don't know why I did that, but anyway...

I was concerned. The note was very vague and curiosity must've gotten the better of me once again, because now I'm in the classroom with Karega. She was saying something about having brought the [red paint].

I asked her why she was doing this.

Karega replied... *grabs head* Oh it's no use. I can't remember the entire thing, but at the end there was something about... the ultimate answer to the ultimate question.

I asked her if she'd talked to Monokuma. She had. He told her... [the meaning of life].

Like a fool, I asked what he said. She said... something *grabs head again* Why is it so spotty? B-but I was... terrified.

She asked if I understood, then finally stated that 'it's more fun to kill people than be the victim.'

After that, she'd completely lost it. I... ran. I ran as fast as my legs could go, but it wasn't enough.

Out of the classroom, down the hall, past the café, into the right hallway... then, I'm on the ground.

I was tackled. I tried to fight, but then I was hit by something hard.

I... am an idiot. I wanted to be the hero and intercept the meeting. At the same time though, I think Karega was off the deep end by the time I was talking to her. I think she must have thought I was her accomplice... That's why she talked to me the way she did.

I hope this answers more questions than it raised."

And Jay disagrees, so she knocks him out and tries to frame him. Maybe... that's what happened here?"
