Vincent sigh as he looks towards the others as they discussed the nightmare. "Yeah, I have the same nightmare... Ugh, dying at the hands of Bertie just like what happened to the Vincent in that story..."

"Seriously, I'm tired of this bullshit! I just want to go home to my family... I want to tell my family how much I love them." The musician said as he continues to try to figure out the next line in the lyrics.

“Well, I know everyone thinking it, so I’ll put it out there now,” Uncle Billy said, taking a seat on the edge of the table. “Zack in overlap between both groups of possible witches. Not necessarily mean anything, but still suspicious.”

Awkwardly, Archer approaches Lucine like a robot and sits down, on the very edge of his seat. "Is this enough, Milady...?"

Allister smiled. "Relax, Father. There's no need to be so nervous." He chuckled.

She quickly started pouring Archer a cup of tea before he could protest, bringing up some light conversational topics: "... And so, we have much to discuss. I suppose we can confirm the existence of at least one witch between me, brother, and uncle Zachary, correct?"

"E-excuse me!?" Archer somehow sits up even more from shock. "What're you- But-" Archer stumbles over his words for a few seconds, almost standing up before hesitating.

"Have I wronged you in some way, Milady? ...Did your father request this too?" He asks, hanging his head all ashamed like.

His tired eyes attempted to focus on the form of his distressed wife and he reached an arm out to pat her shoulder in a feeble attempt to give her some comfort. Deciding that wasn't sufficient, he used her shoulder for support to stand up, move closer, and wrap her in a weak hug.

That's when he couldn't hold it in any longer, beginning to weep against Robin's other shoulder. "Wh-Who is doing this to us? Why do we keep having the people we love taken away from us, only to have them all returned to life just so it can happen again? I've-I've just about had it."

Robin returned Zach's hug and rubbed his back in an effort to comfort him. She... didn't know what to say to that. She couldn't imagine what it must have been like for him. Even as she tried to picture what his death would do to her, she just - couldn't. Her mind simply refused to entertain the possibility.

Slezak wrote:
He hiccuped and pulled back to look his wife in the eyes. "I'm . . . I'm sorry for unloading on you like that. How are you holding up, dear?" He looked around at the others, noticing many of them also seemed to not have slept well.

"I'm - I'm fine," she choked. It was not convincing in the slightest, but she wasn't about to dump her baggage onto Zach. Not now, when he was so distraught himself. And not in front of everyone else.

Slezak wrote:

Robin's expression became crestfallen. She reached up to hold Zach's face in her hands, as if to emphasize her point: "Of course I do."

Asher limped into the room a bit later than everyone else, and much like most of the others, he looked terrible. Like he hadn’t gotten a wink of sleep.

“Never should’ve come here...” he muttered to himself. “The fuck was with that nightmare, anyway...?”

An extremely late Violet stumbles into the room. A far cry from the usual, her hair is evidently ruffled by constant turning in her sleep and the signs of insomnia are visible on her eyes as well. Overall a very disheveled look. In fact, she's still in her gown.

She sits down on the first chair available and rubs her face with a slight groan. "I hate this place..."

Bertram had been silent for a while as he breakfasted. Possibly the fact that he'd actually died was a bit of a shock to him, though he seemed to be mulling things over too.

"We've all seen the same 'dream'. We all know what's going on here, I think," he finally said. "No longer can we protest the existence of 'witches', there's no denying there's something unnatural afoot. To that end I say we start things off on the right foot this time, and try to get an early upper hand on our enemy.

"At the very end of the last... cycle, let's say, I was killed by a witch. However, I did not learn their identity. That circle, with a closed eye, was a new one, and possibly has the ability to conceal its caster, given the iconography. The only one I was aware of visiting me was Maurice, and he died alongside me as a result. Given what occurred afterwards I do not believe he could have been the one to place the circle, so it stands to reason the circle itself was the reason I didn't learn anything this time. Of course we should check in that book to be sure." He would have asked Archer to go fetch it, but given Lucine's whims he held off on doing so.

"Lucine, did you learn anything at the end of that cycle?"

"Nothing of particular importance, I'm afraid." Lucine sighed. "I saw few options for investigation, and decided to simply double check Violet. She was killed by witches, obviously, and so nothing of value was learned."

"I confused about how you even got affected by spell, Barty. Aren't you immune?" Uncle Billy asked, "Maybe it's a special spell. Let's find out!"

He pulled out the book, which he totally had in his pocket this whole time, and flipped through its pages in search of the magic circle.

"Right, I did indeed visit Bertram one last time before I died. I should've realised it was too good to be true but..." Maurice shook his head. "That should at least prove I'm unlikely to be a witch, in any case."

"And do we know whether Asher was alive or not? If he was by the end of all that then he must have been a witch... The fact he killed the hippie is quite suspicious as well. Anything to say for yourself?" He asked the budding lawyer.

"'Of course' . . . ?" Zachary replied, a glum expression on his face, "I wouldn't blame you if you didn't. I died second-to-last in the story, and survived until the end of the nightmare - at least until the witches did whatever they did to us. I'm in both pools of 'possible witches' from both endings. The most I can say I've done is eliminate one or two suspects based on my results . . . I know I'm not a witch, but other than how cooperative I've tried to be, I can't really prove my innocence. In fact . . . the witches may very well come after me first this time to keep it that way." Zachary sighed. At some point during the explanation, he'd turned to address the rest of the room.

Robin had been chewing her lip in thought for a while before speaking up to the group, finally. “I… have a theory. It’s a stretch, but…”

She took a deep breath. “So, I think that there’s something important about people’s jaws being… torn off.” She looked rather sick mentioning it. “I’ve been wondering, what if that only happens when there is only one witch left alive?

“The first time this all happened, there were five people left at the end, and three of them are certainly not witches: Basil, Bertram, and James. That means that the only two who could have killed Zach were Twilip and - and Zach himself.

“Meanwhile, the second time around, I was k-killed that way myself. So - if we assume that the jaw killer was the only witch left alive, then out of the people who were still alive after that night, there was one witch. That’s Zach, Maurice, Bertram, Lucine, Violet, Mickey, and Briggs. The three people still alive at the end were Lucine, Mickey, and Zach, which would mean the others are not witches. It would also mean that the people who died on the same night as me… Jackie, Billy, and Asher… are also innocent.”

She paused and tapped her cheek in thought. “This leaves two possibilities. First… Zach is a witch.” She looked at her husband uneasily. “I’m not accusing you. I’m not accusing anyone. I’m probably wrong and - and just rambling. But… that’s the first conclusion. The second conclusion is, Twilip is the witch that removed Zach’s jaw, and a different one did that to the others. That person must have been either Lucine or Mickey - so one of them would have to be a witch, and the other mortal. And… if the victims always lose their jaws after they die, like I did… then that eliminates Zach as a possibility.”

After taking a moment to let the idea sink in, Robin coughed. “Also, um. The last night I was alive, I delayed Jackie, so… she didn’t kill me, and she couldn’t have killed Twilip”, she added meekly.

Robin shot Zach a concerned look and squeezed his hand. The witches could come for him right away, huh... I hope he's wrong.

Basil stormed into the room in his nightclothes, his immaculate hair uncharacteristically ruffled, frustration clear on his face. He stopped and leaned on a chair looking around everyone in the room like an angry bull before taking a deep breath.

"Alright...so we all had the same dream. I don't know how much these witches will continue to toy with us so let's lay the cards out on the table..."

"My lead for the five witches is, Mickey, Zach, Vincent, Lucine, and...I don't know for the last one, maybe Twilip or Briggs." he sighed pointing to each one in turn.

He looked over to Violet "Do you have that book? We should check the new magic circle from the dream."

His head whipped around to Bertram "And the gun brother? We should kill one of them now to get this done with."

James came running over to Bertram holding a book, "Bertie, I need you shoot Twilip. I looked through Auntie's books about witchcraft and it says witches can kill other witches with their magic but not themselves. Therefore, Twilip must have killed Zach in that story."

“Me too, Violet,” Asher said, sitting down in another seat nearby hers. “Me too.”

He looked at Maurice as he asked his questions and shook his head.

“Yeah. I was actually dead the whole time after my body was found. It wasn’t fake. And I killed Billy because, well, he and Aunt Jackie were the most suspicious to me, and I knew Briggs planned to poison my Aunt. Perhaps it was the wrong choice... but at that time, I believed it to be the only one.”

He stood up as James rushed into the room with new information, and smirked a bit. “Is that truly the case? If so... we have a confirmed witch,” he muttered, glancing over at Twilip.

James presents a book to everyone.

"The one who possesses the killing power of the witches may use it to kill other witches. Killing oneself with the power, however, is not usually posible. Only a circle of absolute death, which requires ten sacrifices to prepare, can target anyone including the caster."

James nervously grinned, "Sorry, I must have missed the bit about the absolute death circle. I think it makes Zach over here quite suspicious however, because of his long survival records. Therefore, we should disregard his results because he could lying to be protect his fellow witches. I'd also like to ask Vince something.

In the dream's version of the afterlife you said you said you lied about your role and your actual role was 'useless'. Your motive for lying was also quite strange. You said it was to convince us that you wanted to help us find the witches. So I think it'd best if you told us what this 'useless' role is."

Uncle Billy is getting extremely irate at the spell book. Smoke blows out of his ears like a locomotive.

"See? I knew it would come to this, even though I've been completely truthful about my results," Zachary stated, signing in resignation. He turned to his wife and asked, "So after all of this, can you really, truly say you trust me with confidence? Because the witches are doing a great job of somehow managing to keep the suspicion on me."

He turned away from the others. "What am I good for anymore if nobody's going to believe me? I'm not going to give up investigating, though. Sorry for being nothing but a burden to all of you."
