I tried to get a $35 dollar Nintendo card in order to download Dual Destinies, but the machines at the store I was at refused to read them for some reason, as the cards have to be machine activated before they can be used. The worst thing is, it's the only store that sells those cards for miles around. I'm really starting to regret living in the middle of nowhere.

Urgent advice: If you are pregnant but you are not a teenager, you should know that scholars don't care about you. They just want to talk about teen pregnancy.

Why would anyone go to a scholar for advice during pregnancy?

I'm talking about academic articles -- apparently all of them are about teen pregnancy.

Well, yeah. Because teens are generally fucking idiots who get pregnant without wanting to. Sure there are even 20+ year old women who get pregnant without wanting to, but they are expected to at least have a semi-clear idea of what they want to do.

I have to agree with Cat on this one, I know a girl who got pregnant at 14. 14! Teenage girls aren't exactly known for intelligence. I mean, they're the people that make Justin Bieber and Twilight into pop culture phenomena. Sure, if an adult woman gets pregnant, they should receive help, but once you reach a certain age you're supposed to know about stuff like this.

Fuck it, if you're 14 you should know about fucking protection, too. I don't know about schools in other lands, but I got Sex Ed starting in fifth grade, when I was 10-11 years old. I had it again for the next two school years, so by the time I reached the age of 13, I had had about three years worth of Sex Ed.
Pointless for me, of course, as I knew about sex and protection and all that much earlier.

In Canada, and I think in the US, we also get sex ed starting in grade 5. Then again, we're constantly taught from as young as 3rd grade that smoking is terrible and kills you, and yet teens still start smoking! It's clear people don't listen to a thing that they're taught.

Well telling children about smoking is basically, "Smoking is bad DON'T DO IT!" while Sex Ed isn't saying "Sex is bad DON'T DO IT" but it more says, "This is what sex is. Use protection to prevent pregnancy. (And STDs)" So while I could say smoking is done because it's forbidden, I doubt that can be applied to sex as well.

I mean, eventually, majority of people will have sex. It's a natural thing to do, to keep the species going, but not everyone will start smoking. And people have different reasons to start smoking... personally, I don't because I see no point in it.

I just looked at chuggaaconroy's TVTropes page, and one of the things he's apparently said about an upcoming LP of his makes me worry it's the same game I plan on doing once I'm done with Pokémon Colosseum. It's not the end of the world, but I don't want some of his more... devoted... fans accusing me of ripping the man off if we turn out to have the same idea. I suspect the only reason such accusations haven't been leveled against me for my Pokémon Colosseum LP is that almost none of his fans even know I exist.

[sigh]

Well, I suppose one way to remedy that is to reveal the next LP I plan on doing here and now, before Chugga has a chance to prove for my second LP in a row that great minds think alike. Once I'm done with Pokémon Colosseum, I will be doing a Let's Play of Fire Emblem: Awakening unless I am unable to get my hands on a 3DS capture card. There. Now I have proof that I had been planning on doing this LP before Chugga revealed his own (assuming he plans on playing that game in the first place).

It took long enough to get everything ready, but it appears I now have nothing to worry about. Those who have been keeping up with Chugga's videos know he didn't start an LP of Awakening. Also, even if he starts one soon, I no longer need to worry about false accusations. Just today, I formally announced the LP on my YouTube channel. Right now, it appears the first video of the actual Let's Play will be up on January 13. All that's left is to wait for votes on pairings and get a buffer built up.

I don't think these people don't listen to a thing they're taught. More like they don't give a fuck.

After 10 or 12 years of age, everybody knows what sex is. Even without Sex Ed, there's no way someone reaches puberty without knowing what sex is. You'll eventually see some reference of it in a movie, magazine, conversation or music. There's no argument to that.
Teens get pregnant because they're stupid, easily manipulable and irresponsible, period. And they should be accountable for their actions.

About the drugs... My opinion is too controversial, so I'll keep quiet.

My mom has the mind-set and raised me with it of "If you are old enough to ask the question, you are old enough for the answer". I actually have no idea when exactly she told me about sex first, but I know that before I reached the double digits, I sort of knew about sex and even read up in books about it.

But the teens, yeah they don't give a fuck. Well, technically they do. :gant:
But those are also the type of morons who think they can't get pregnant before their first period. Which is the exact opposite, the period just means that there was a fertile egg.

Seriously, when I have kids and they get pregnant as teens, I will show them my disappointment and they can make their own goddamn decisions. "Mom, what do you think I should do?" Well, they got themselves into the situation, they better know how to get themselves out of it again.

When you say "knows how to play chess," do you simply mean "knows how to play chess" or do you mean "can actually beat me at chess from time to time" (though I suppose the former is a prerequisite for the latter)?

Nah, I mean in the literal sense. Believe me, no one I know knows how to play chess. My only hope now is to find a decent player at lichess.org.

Well, I played chess a few times but not in a few years. I mean, I still know what chess piece can move in what way but otherwise...

Okay, this is bothering me. Somebody with good math look at this and tell me that I am not wrong when I say it's impossible. Okay, so in this book, main character Alice says she isn't good at algebra because her brain can't imagine text math and such. One of the number examples is this.

[5a + 6a = {5a - a + 7a} - a]

Now, the way I learned math in German schools, we did the wavey brackets first, before doing the other ones. And while my grade for the finals in math was pretty bad, I am generally okay with math. But here, I try to do this math problem and I come to this conclusion.

Spoiler: My conclusion
It's impossible to solve!
10a = 11a, that's what I come up with.

Aww man I'm sure someone around here knows how to play chess (I do). We used to play it back in primary school on the rainy days when they kept us inside. Sure I don't know anything fancy about chess but I know how the pieces move and the win conditions, that's enough right? :ron:

I know how to play chess, and I even have a chess set in my home that I never use, 'cause I also have nobody to play with. Besides, I'm not really that "into" it, as the chess set was given to me as a birthday gift from my aunt. I'm not really into board games in general, I spend most of my spare time either playing video games or going on the internet.

Hey, guys.

Modern Combat 4 for android is free, but only to Xperia play users, there's a way to get it if you have a User Agent switcher to download the .apk and then you have it...I had written a tutorial about it...I was going to post it...but I was afraid I'd get banned for posting ways to get pirated software (even though it isn't)...so, does posting a tutorial about how to get a game thats free for users of a certain device to get even if they don't have the certain device and then put it on another?

Please, I'd like to know.

Okay, so I'm on TV Tropes and I encounter this on the Suddenly Sexuality page, ie. when a character suddenly announces or realizes their sexuality, despite there being hints or flat out evidence that they were the opposite sexuality beforehand. And I found a Kuroshitsuji example.

Grell from Black Butler. Toboso Yana eventually made it pretty clear that Grell is actually male-to-female transgendered, but many fans still either don't believe it or refuse to.

...what? Okay, Toboso, I'm not saying I understand how male-to-female transgender works. Well, actually I do, since I have a transgendered Aunt, but let me make something clear. Even if your drawn men look not the most manly, I can definitely say that Grell does not look like a transgender. Especially not like he turned female.
Nuh-uh, to me, Grell is plain and simply a guy. He has a dick. And a flat chest. And he wants to feel Sebastian inside of him. He wants to have buttsex with Sebastian. He plays for the other team. Do I have to make myself any clearer? You didn't create a transgendered character, you created an openly gay character.

This isn't me not believing it or refusing to believe it. I'm just pointing out that this "revelation" makes no sense. It isn't hinted at or outright stated. Grell may say, "I feel just like you. I want a child, but I cannot have one of my own", but to me that simply means that he is a guy. Because guys can't have children.

I find that a lot of people online jump to conclusions about a character's sexual orientation (or, in the case Cat brings up, gender identity) far too readily. I was recently thinking the same thing about one of TVTropes's entries on Aura Blackquill. The entry's spoilered over there, so I'm putting my complaint in a spoiler box even though I don't consider it necessary.

Spoiler: 5-4 and 5-5
I just fail to see how her comment about not just wanting Metis's respect as a co-worker "heavily implied" that she was a lesbian. Yes, I can see how it might be interpreted that way, but I just interpreted it as her considering Metis a dear friend, much as Apollo viewed Clay.

Then again, I tend to be bad at catching such hints. Maybe it's obvious to most people and I'm the exception rather than the rule.

I think believing that a comment done by a character is a sign that they are gay or so is like the Opposite of the people who think that any comment could mean that two characters are in love with each other. Like Mia and Diego. They worked together feverishly on a case. Grossberg thinks they are a couple - I don't think so. Neither of their interactions in 3-4 showed that there was anything going on between them and 3-1 didn't show anything to me other than Mia glad that she finally got the murderer of Diego into her fangs.
But there are people who think they are a couple, despite it not being stated.

And in Grell's case, it was the mangaka herself who said Grell is transgendered. Which is idiotic and I refer to my last post. Grell being transgendered just doesn't make any SENSE. Why can't he just be a guy who is gay and wishes that he'd be capable of giving birth to children?
I find that especially confusing as the original plan of Kuroshitsuji was to have Ciel and Sebastian officially labelled as lovers. (What, those two it's okay but Grell having the hots for Sebastian means we have to make him transgendered?)

Plus... Grell is a Shinigami. Okay, they haven't fully explained shinigami yet in Kuroshitsuji, but I figured they can change their appearance if they want to?

I dunno General, I'm bad at catching hints but even I thought that came across especially heavily. Still it's been a long few years since the last AA game for me, perhaps I grew up a bit.

"You know EXACTLY how I felt about her" is a way of saying how you explicitly feel about someone...hmm well perhaps you are right General, I just don't think that woman is capable of normal feelings because of how horrible she is.

Maybe she meant that Grell feels like a woman? Someone doesn't have to pass through surgery to be a transgender, you know. They simply have to feel like the opposite gender. And if I'm not mistaken, he referred to himself as a girl in that first battle with Sebastian.
