Robin's hand was on her chest, her eyes squeezed shut, her breathing shallow and rapid. But she was still standing upright.

"I-... I'm sorry, Zach," she said weakly. "I blocked you last night. I had to know... And now we know. You're not the Golden Witch. I'm sorry."

"Knocked out..?"

Briggs scratched his head. "That must mean someone was lying about their previous role. That, or you're lying since you are in contention to be a witch. Actually, it's very possible that you are lying, as I can think of no reason why you would think it's useful to check those two as your targets."

Vincent was still in shock, shaking with fear, after witnessing what have happened.

"That can't be... Auntie Gloria, right?" The musician spoke up as he runs a hand through his hair. "It's almost like that part in the story with Allister getting attacked by Asher's corpse... That Gloria's corpse attacked us with a gun..."

"I just - don't understand why!" Robin shouted. "If that was Gloria - why would she do this? And if that was the witches - why use Gloria? Is this what every magic circle does? Summon her to--" She stopped suddenly with a choking sound. When had she started crying?

"I checked Wyn and Maurice because, by my deductions, Maurice has to be the Golden Witch. Since Wyn is an investigative role, I figured there's a good chance she would be selected as one of the targets. Thanks to Robin, though - " he shot a glance at his wife, even though he understood why she did what she did - "I was unable to check on them." It was then he noticed that she was crying, and left Archer's grasp to go to her. He was still unstable though, and only managed to make it a few steps before tripping over his own feet and falling toward the floor.
Thank you for reading. I hope you have a wonderful day.

Robin went to Zach on wobbly legs and tried to help him up.

She looked around the room, refusing to let her gaze drop to the horrific scene on the floor. "Everyone..." She tried to summon the strength to sound authoritative, but she just - couldn't. She didn't feel or look confident at all. She was red-faced and shameful and so very, pathetically small.

"Tell me everything that happened last night. Please." Her voice broke on the last word.

'Mickey' stared deeply at the corpses of his mother and sister. His breathing was surprisingly steady. The death still hit him like a train, but somehow getting up from it was easier. Somehow he knew... they would get another chance. Meemah always used to say there would be a chance to find answers after all of this or something.

"Aight, we killing Vincent? Or we going through the song and dance first?" It almost seemed like a deadpan joke, but when he turned to face everyone his fury was more than obvious.

Uncle Billy entered the room, his head snapping back and forth in every direction.

“Okay, I will explain pretty soon, but...is she still here?” He asked, glancing toward the kitchen. “Has anyone looked yet? Or is crazy zombie grandma still wandering around house? Feel like we should check up on that first.”

Once he was reasonably certain it was safe, he tiptoed over to the corpses and began examining them, starting with Asher’s and putting off Lucine’s.

“Geez, they got all mortals with weapons. We need be real careful who we execute.”

"I visited Uncle Basil and James. So maybe I saved Uncle Basil?" 'Mickey' suggested despite me knowing from discord that Archer had swapped Basil so he probably didn't do shit.

“Also, I visit Lucine,” Uncle Billy shouted, “So we can rule her out. Though kind of obvious considering what happen here. Unfortunately, it probably messed up whatever her autopsy was.”

Archer frowns and shoots a dirty look at Billy. After breathing in and out and avoiding the sight of the corpses in the room, he spoke.

"Last night I had swapped Sir Basil with Madame Robin. Knowing what we know about the magic the witches use, Madame Robin could not be a victim of theirs again. And knowing what we know about Sir Basil, he is invaluable to our cause."

He smirks. "It seems like others had similar ideas of saving him, yet I beat them to the punch, as it seems. I apologize for the influx of visitors you received last night, Madame Robin."

Robin looked from Archer to Billy and back.

"Archer, that - I think you did the right thing. I wish it had saved someone, but... we still have Basil." Her gaze shifted to her brother-in-law with a bittersweet smile. "I'm thankful for that."

"Billy... Don't you remember that when Auntie Gloria attacked us? She was armed with a gun, so it's too risky to go looking for her right now..." Vincent said as he rubs the back of his neck with one hand. "The last thing that I'd want to do is to get jumped by a armed zombie."

"...Saving him is stretching it," Briggs said, crossing his arms. "I simply thought the witches may go after him the first night. His role is quite valuable, and it would be a waste to lose it."

"As hinted by Sir Archer, I intended to visit Basil to steal many of his personal things, alongside his role. Of course, I instead entered Miss Robin's room instead, and now I possess her role, assuming things did not go wrong."

Briggs fished out something from his pocket. It was a wallet.

"By the way, since this cash isn't from Sir Stalks A Lot, you can have it back. I don't really have a problem with you."

He tossed the very light wallet back to Robin. It was certainly possible not all the cash was there.

No. No, no, no - she didn't want this responsibility.

She gulped. Mechanically, Robin slipped her wallet back into her pocket without checking its contents.

"Okay. We - we can figure this out later. Right now, we should focus on gathering information and..." She didn't say it out loud, but she was sure everyone was thinking the same thing.

We need to decide who we're going to lynch.

"Don't worry about it," Briggs said, trying to comfort Robin somewhat. "I'm not really sure what it is that makes people I steal from want to steal back. Maybe it's because I'm just *that* charming. Or they just want some twisted revenge."

Further neglecting IC-speak, Briggs continued. "Anyways, I recommend just visiting me tonight. You can steal your original role back, and I'll have mine back. Or, if you want to predict a kill and save a role yourself like I tried to do, that's something you can try as well."

"...Also, I have zero problem lynching that talentless hack musician, Vincent. Although I think it's a bit of a waste."

Twilip takes glances at the dead, eventually focusing a sorrowful gaze at the now dead Lucine and begins muttering. "Of course they'd use mother's corpse to get her... James and Jackie were useful so it's natural to get them out of they before they became a problem. Asher could be faking it..."

Twilip speaks up "Before we shoot Vincent again I think he should finally come clean and tell us what he can do." She halfheartedly gestures to Vincent. "I already found out what you're able to do, so there's no point in hiding it. I'll give you a chance to speak first and explain yourself."

Basil kneeled down in front of the body of Asher. His teeth clenched more in anger than sorrow. “This...my boy...little Ash...I’ll do my best to avenge you.” He squeezed out before wiping a sleeve over his wet eyes and standing up.

“Of course it can’t be Mum who meant those things, the witches are just tormenting us with their magic, they almost certainly faked that damn letter too.” Basil grunted with renewed vigour.

“But...unfortunately, my investigation last night was fruitless.” He looked over towards Zach “I kept an eye on him but obviously he didn’t go anywhere.” He met Robins eyes briefly but looked away.

“James didn’t deserve to go like this...it was too soon for him, but maybe he’s too dangerous for the witches to leave alive,” he looked down at Zach.

“I’m sorry Robin, we should lynch either Zach or Twilip tonight. We know there’s a 50% chance one of them is a witch, even if not a grand witch.”

He looked up the stairs to his beautiful youthful wife “Dear, were you able to learn anything from your investigation last night?”

When Bertram saw the gruesome corpses of his wife and daughter, he fell onto his hands and knees before retching onto the floor. Knowing that they'd 'come back to life', and seeing the deaths already, did nothing to prepare him for the sight.

Maurice looked at the bodies in shock. "Mother... Did she really...? No, it must have been the witches... It must have..."

Zachary's accusation snapped him out of it, however. "What? Me, the Golden Witch?" He scoffed. "I believe your investigation results are only confined to this reality, and not the nightmare or story, yes? Then you should know that was a waste of time to look into."

"Regardless, I can confirm my innocence in this matter quite easily. I visited Bertram tonight, and I'm sure it was him as nobody else tried any shenanigans tonight with either me or him. And if I'm lying, he should be able to prove it. Otherwise, I have an alibi for tonight and can thus prove myself to not be this Golden Witch."

"Anyway, I'm fine with lynching Vincent at this point in time", he declared. "He still seems intent on hiding his ability after all this... Though if you could spare us the trouble and tell us what his talent is, Twilip, that would be appreciated. Also, I notice Asher died quite early this time. I suppose we don't have to worry about him faking his death now, at least", he added coldly.

The sight of the bodies paints Violet's face with horror and disgust. Even though the sight is familiar at this point, the sheer shock of it is still extremely new. She sobs a few times, crying for a few minutes and muttering the name of her dead brother. Eventually, she sniffs and wipes her eyes. "I'm, I'm-- voting for Vincent." She stammers out, "For all we know, you could've done this!"

Violet shoots a glare over to Maurice, but doesn't bother acting on it.

Hearing Maurice address him was enough for Bertram to push himself back to his feet, knowing that they still had a lot to do in order to stop the witches. He staggered into another room to get some water, cleaning himself up a little and trying to calm down. Then he returned to throw his own voice into the mix.

"Maurice is right, he visited me. Though I don't see how that clears you of anything: I believe all the witches are capable of visiting people to perform some action while also visiting their chosen victims in the same twilight."

He turned to address Robin next. "When you say you 'blocked' Zachary, do you mean you delayed him, or are you the one who knocked him out? His condition is like Twilip's from the story, if it wasn't you then it sounds like someone else had the same idea, knocking him out before he could do anything."

After that was his living cousin. "Vincent, Twilip can reveal your role to us all right now. You may as well tell us yourself, otherwise you will only look even more suspicious than you do already. Concealing your role won't help you: ideally by hiding a role you hope to protect yourself from the witches, but in doing so you also become so suspicious that we won't believe a thing you tell us. You protect yourself so your 'actions' still happen, but if you have an ability that lets you learn things, we won't believe any of your results if you only come out with them at the very end of things."

Then, lastly, he turned back to Robin, a weary look on his face. "I have an idea, perhaps you should integrate it with whatever other plans you may have. When deciding who to target next, flip a coin. If it lands on heads, swap with me, otherwise swap with whoever you feel suits the plan best. That way the witches cannot be certain which of the two of us has my protective ability, and as a result both of us should remain untargeted."

Maurice nodded. "What you say is true normally, Bertram, but I am a special case. As I've said before, I visit one person and hide in their room for the entire twilight. This sort of thing is exactly what leads to my vulnerability in case my target dies, and is exactly how I died with Wyn and Bertram the last two cycles. Even if you don't believe me at my word and if you didn't take note of the fact that I was by your side the entirety of all this, Basil himself can confirm this is all that I do by keeping watch on me... Which he should probably do so that we can finally eliminate me from all this."

"You is funny guy, Vinny! To think you have even tiniest shred of leverage here!" Uncle Billy replied, "Twily probably used Whiny's powers on you to discover role. If you make her reveal it for you, we most likely shoot you again. No reason to keep someone alive who has religiously worked against us. You only have chance to survive if you explain self now!"

Robin set her mouth in a hard line and nodded at Bertram.

"First... When I say blocked, I mean delayed, like usual." She briefly gave Zach another apologetic look. "Assuming he-- ... makes it through the night..." She shuddered. "... He should know the results of both of his investigations tomorrow morning."

She watched Bertram grimly as he described his coin-flip idea to her. "I think that's a good plan. I'll do that."

"Briggs?" She turned to the thief. "There are only two people left who could be the Golden Witch now. Lucine is-- um." She couldn't bring herself to say it, so she coughed and moved along. "And Zach was held back, so he couldn't have killed anyone last night. So-- it's down to Maurice and Wyn." Robin cast a suspicious glance at Maurice. "If I were you, I would target one of them tonight. Whatever the result, as long as we know who you targeted, we should have our answer... assuming I was right about being able to delay the killings in the first place."

"Also, um." She shifted uncomfortably. "Can you... steal powers from the dead?"

“If we’re talking about night actions already, then we need to find a system to spread out our abilities.” That statement seemed to be directed at Archer. “Auntie Twilip, if you copied my power then that gives us even more room to maneuver. Doubling Wyn’s investigation could also only be useful.”

"I already told you how to confirm my innocence", Maurice argued. "Just have Basil watch over me and see who I visit. Then the next night, I reveal who I visited and Basil will confirm where I went. If I am not the Golden Witch then I should simply visit one person and be with them for the night. It's as simple as that, really. If the killings happen independently of me then it should be proof enough I was uninvolved with them in the first place."

"This way, Briggs can focus on delaying Wyn instead and we'll spread more manpower that way to confirming people's innocence."

"Something else has been bothering me..." Robin looked at the musician. "Vincent, you used your power on me last time-loop, on the first night. But from what I can tell, nothing happened to me from that. Apart from that... On the first time-loop, you visited Jackie, then Mickey, right?" She tapped her cheek. "I couldn't help but notice that they both died the night after you visited them. And I died two nights later - and I delayed you the night you visited me. All three of our deaths were caused by witches - or at least, they looked like it."

She bit her lip. "Can you give us any insight about why that is?"

"Well... I'm not entirely sure why... My guess is that they're purely coincidences and the witches used those coincidences to make me be the scapegoat, I think?" Vincent said as he cross his arms.

Then to Billy, the musician said, "It doesn't matter if I can talk about my power... Even if I do talk about my power, you guys will still kill me. It's inevitable, really."

Vincent then walks towards the door before he turns around to the group. "I have a feeling... that Bertie won't be able to shoot me because I'll be dead before he even get the chance to carry out the deed." He said in a vague and mysterious way. And then he left the room.

We need all the information we can get! We need to work together! We are dying, do you understand that?" Fresh tears welled up in her eyes. "The witches are organized. They're working together as a team. If we can't fight back as a team, they'll pick us off one by one. If you can help us at all, you have to be alive to do it! If you can help us, we need to know how so we can all protect each other - all of us, including you! Please!"

Robin's words seemed to have reached Vincent as he stopped walking. Then he turns around and looks at Robin.

"It doesn't matter, anyway. No matter how much you tried to get me to help you.... You'll still betray me in the end. Given how the others are treating me right now... It's inevitable as of now." Vincent said before he stomp a foot on the floor.

"This family is different from the one I knew 22 years ago! Do you really want to know why I left the mansion 22 years ago?!" The musician yells, getting worked up, before he points a finger at Maurice. "It's his fault that I left!" He frowns at the memory of the argument between him and Maurice.

"If there's one thing that the story and nightmare taught me, you guys are all arrogant! You don't even care that I have a family who's waiting for me to come home! You're willing to kill off the people that you knew, regardless of whenever they have a family or not... All to save your fucking asses!" The musician said, very angry. "How hard is it for you to understand that?! Wake the fuck up, Robin!"

"Please... I just need some alone time." The musician said as he let out a exasperated sigh. With that being said, he turns around and started walking back to his room.

When Vincent opened the door, he discovered Uncle Billy standing on the other side.

“Not so fasty wasty, Vinny Winny,” he said, “We family here. And family stick together, rather they want to or not!”

He leapt at Vincent with blinding speed, attempting to shove him back into the dining room.

Basil grimaced, the bleakness of the situation setting in "The book says that the witches need to visit everyone in a single night to kill them. If their power diminishes over time like in the dream then it surely means that Zach isn't the grand witch but the odds are still high that him or Twilip are a witch." he tentatively reached for a napkin and gently used it to cover Asher's face.

After Vincent's outburst, Basil just gave Maurice a perplexed look wondering how brutally Maurice had argued with Vincent in the past before continuing.

"We...we need to act now, if Vincent doesn't talk we may need to lynch him but...beyond him, based on the book, the witches need to visit who they kill. I've not been lucky enough to spot people visiting the dead...except in that case I saw Mickey visit Lucine but people don't seem to think much of that." he gave Mickey a dark look before continuing "So I think we need to lynch Zach or Twilip unless Vincent persuades us otherwise."

He held out a finger "And I'll need some extreme convincing before I agree to anything preposterous suggesting my Wynnie-poo is a witch!"

Twilip shouts after Vincent. "Jesus Christ! You visit one person every time frame or whatever and nothing happens to em! Pretty sure that's not all of it, but I don't get why you can't just say it!"

Maurice simply facepalmed at the ensuing shenanigans. "What on earth is he even talking about? Acting as if everything's my fault... this man is deluded beyond belief."

"...That's it?!" Maurice shouted. "Why couldn't you say that before, you dunce?! Nothing happening to whoever you visit helps your case! ...Good grief, I'm starting to get a migraine from this", he groaned.

Violet looks at Twilip, stunned. "What the hell do you mean...? Why wouldn't he just say that if it were the case?"
