also K is da best (in vlr)

Spoiler: BIG Spoilers for VLR
K killed Dio (but he was a dick so who cares) and also planned on killing Phi and Sigma. He only succeeded in the latter, though, and ended up killing himself

Though, I do want to say that a big reason I don't like Clover in VLR is because it's harder to feel bad for someone who lost their coworker as opposed to a brother, and her English VA really got on my nerves

Edit: Yes, I realize I'm breaking character as GM, but I can't resist good ol' ZE talk

So, let's recap the current situation.

You establish a plan that has you going through door 1. You continually insist on it, writing several thousand words about how it is the best plan possible and saying over and over again how much you want to go through the door. You then pop in literally the minute that items become available and grab the item. And now you are saying that you will not reveal what that item was because ~reasons~

At the moment I want some kind of estimate of when you'll be able to tell us what you got really badly.

Thanks for saving me from having to write up a response myself.

There's three reasons I can think up as to why BP would want to hide whatever item he got.

- He's Zero and got a clue to his identity
- He's the bomber and got the password or shut-off device
- He's a regular player but got an item that gives him such a huge advantage he's willing to toss aside the "trust" he kept going on about building before we got into the numbered doors

So which is it?

This one :3

But... not quite exactly. I have a different reason for not wanting to say...

Pierre hasn't said what his item is yet either, though...

(EDIT: To be slightly more specific, I'm concerned about my personal safety....)

EDIT2: Ah, screw it, I'll tell you guys. Don't have time to type it up now though.

Nah it makes sense, what if what he had was so dangerous he could be killed for it? Like he mentioned earlier we don't know what crazy roles there are in this thing.

I got a USB Keyboard (as in the kind you plug into something to interface with stuff).

Though while it's a fair point that BP has been a bit suspicious so far it doesn't really change our plan for the start so far as I can see. We all go in and ally...unless people are so unnerved by BP they want to betray him all of a sudden XD

Then again...I am kinda worried about what other crazy powers could be in this game...we'll need to see.

JM also mentioned some kind of "esper" power that was like the cop in Mafiain the sign-ups thread, right? It would be interesting to see whether that power is still in the game and what they can find out.

Should be 2 and a half hours, but I'm coming in to say that I'm extending it to 10:20 am EST as ending Round 2 at night is pretty much the same as ending it in the morning because nobody will play at night. Plus, it can accommodate the other time zones well.

As always, the game will advance when I get a vote from every block

Thanks for the update, JM. I'll be checking back at the specified time of 10:20am EST.

I love the idea of items. Definitely spices up the game, even if I'll most likely never get one.

I sure hope everyone allied like good boys and girls this round. I know I did! If not... I will... uh... stare blankly at you... like an idiot. Uh, I really got nothin'.

Rest of post talks about my thoughts on the visual novels the game we're playing is based on. It is irrelevant to the game at hand. Thus it is in spoilers so the important content of my post is left intact.
Spoiler: My thoughts on the Zero Escape series so far
On a tangential note, I have a friend who's really into the mystic arts. I'll have to show him 999 and VLR and ask him how "mystically-accurate" they are. I mean sure they fictionalize quite a few facets of science but at the same time the writers make them totally believable in this universe. I gotta hand it to them.

So far I think the general atmosphere of 999 is far superior to that of VLR. I mean, the whole concept of chromatic doors and the ambidex game seem quite... repetitive compared to the diversity of even the doors in 999. Then again, I guess opening doors was the whole point of that game.

Of course I've only seen about half of VLR so far so things could change.

Then again if you love story, both games are deeeeeeeeeeeep. Fall down the rabbit hole and you will probably never find your way out. Ha! Rabbit hole. That's... uh, yeah. Back to the game!

Thank you for reading. I hope you have a wonderful day.

Everyone has 5 BP

Have to say I'm a little disappointed

Nothing really new to add but a small thing: you are allowed to backtrack. So, you can go back to Doors [134] if you wish, but you can’t go back to the doors from previous rounds, so [27] are out of the question.

To go through a previous door, you don’t need to vote or anything. Just get a group that’s willing to go. Anyway, the round will end Thursday 10:30 AM EST, cause that’s the easiest time I can update. Also, pairs are getting their quicktopics early, so you're now longer restricted to outside chit-chat during AB Game voting

The chromatic doors this time around are Red, Green, and Blue

Magenta Pair-Nego
Magenta Pair-ShameNinja
Magenta Solo-Cesar
Yellow Pair-Franzise
Yellow Pair-Slezak
Yellow Solo-Rov
Cyan Pair-Lida_Rose
Cyan Pair-BadPlayer
Cyan Solo-Pierre

Well, Franzise. Looks like you and I, who were "opponents" in the first round, become bound by destiny for this round.

After Franzise spoke up about going through the door we had missed last time, I did some quick mental calculations. I as well was wondering what could be through Door #3.

I have no objections to going through Door #3 with Franzise, Rov, and Cesar. Now we just need consent from Rov and Cesar and we can run back there.

1 + 5 + 7 + 8 = 21 -> 2 + 1 = [3]

And let's discuss options. Neither I nor Franzise have been grouped with Cesar. Franzise has previously gone with Pierre, and I have previously gone with Rov. I currently hold no distrust, so any option works for me at the moment.

They were lovely lumps. The kinds of lumps you could write poetry about, and minstrels would sing about in the days of yore.

Joking aside, I think we should figure out who we're going to go forward with after y'all come back.

For now, I Vote: Option B

because I still love you, Rovvy. And your lumps. :edgey:

I turned towards Rov, who was currently joke-arguing with Lida.

So Rov, are you okay with Franzise's plan of going through the #3 door along with myself and Cesar?

I then moved my gaze to Cesar who was currently just standing around.

Same question to you Cesar. If either of you agree, that's a 3/4 majority and that's good enough for us.

Hand-on-hip, I patiently awaited a response from either of them.

Franzise, Slezak, Rov, and Cesar approach Door [3].

"Be careful." Pierre warns, off to the side.

In the corner, ShameNinja glares at the group. Lida puts her head down with sadness that she wasn't allowed to join.

"You all ready?" Slezak pointlessly asks. The rest nervously nod.

Slezak presses his hand against the RED. The others follow suit. Everyone but Slezak runs through the door but he stands there, frozen.. 8 seconds pass. Franzise's blood pressure shoots up and she grabs Slezak by the hand and pulls him through Door [3].

The room appears to be for recreation. There's a mini-basketball hoop, a pool table, a dartboard, some foosball. Rov insists on sticking around to play some games but Cesar insists that they get out as soon as possible, not wanting to miss the chromatic door deadline.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oRWR603ObI

At the end of the room, the group unlocks a safe. The key to their escape is inside, resting on top of a wrapped gift box.

An item is in the room.

Aww, just a couple minutes too late. Ah well. Good work Franzise.

'A recreation room, huh?' I thought as I walked around the room, '"Work hard, play hard" as the saying goes, haha!' I was about to take up Rov's offer for a game when Cesar spoke up.

I'm inclined to agree. This stuff was all configured for puzzles anyway. I doubt any of it functions right for playing an actual game.

With that, I made for the exit door, hoping the others would follow back to the main meeting area. Some of us still had to vote which Chromatic Door we would go through. As I got back to the meeting area I heard Pierre speak up.

What do you mean I get to be Sigma?

I recall back to my research on past Nonary Games done in the Library.

I mean, Junpei was Bracelet 5 in 999's Nonary Game. Sigma's bracelet didn't have a static number.

At the mention of there possibly being another role, my eyes widened. More secrets. More signs that perhaps more than a few of us have something to hide.

There's a role other than Zero or the Bomber? Interesting indeed.

My attention returned to the Chromatic Doors. I needed to continue pondering once again with whom I should advance through them.
