Asher quietly hung his head, trying his best to ignore Basil and Wyn's words to one another. He closed his eyes and focused his breathing, trying to relax.

"Vital support for you, maybe..." he bitterly mumbled under his breath, not reacting at all to the loud clap of thunder that shook the manor. It seemed to reflect his mood pretty perfectly, honestly.

"T-That's not funny, Briggs..." Allister complained. "I'm not scared..." Despite what he said, the boy seemed to be trembling slightly.

Briggs let out a small, genuine chuckle as he pats Allister on the head to comfort him. "...Of course, I'm just joking. A little bit of thunder wouldn't scare us, isn't that right?"

Though the stranger did not enter the house yet, seemingly wanting to wait until Archer delivered the message for his dramatic entrance. "Try to remember the look on the old man's face for me, aight?" He playfully slapped Archer on the shoulder.

The sudden thunder caused James to drop his wine glass which caused wine to spill all over his new suit and made the glass shatter on the floor. James called out to Briggs and Allister, "Damn it! Can one of you two servants come and clean this up?"

Archer makes no effort to hug back, but he smiles regardless, although faint. "Very well. I'll return shortly." Gripping the man's bags, Archer nods and enters the mansion.

...And shortly after, into the dining hall. He seems to have lost the bags, though.

"Master Bertram." Archer clears his throat and approaches his seat. "Mas-... Erm, Mickey is outside. He would like to enter the mansion." His expression remained unchanging despite his misspeaking.

Maurice gave a polite laugh. "Only you could find such a keen interest in digging up old bones, sister. In any case, my career has been proceeding as smoothly as it looks. I would not be able to afford such clothing unless I earned it, and I will say I have ended up quite well off."

She slumps a little. "I'll say that it is more than bones, but they are just about the usual finds. Nice to see that you've been on a nice track Maurie."

"Wow Lippy, that's a real good line of work. I'm impressed!" Basil chirped washing down some peas with water. "You should have a talk with Violet later! She's working through her history degree at the moment at university. Any interesting digs or projects there?"

"Nothing too big in my opinion. Excavated some Celtic sites with some old bones in them, but nothing worth bragging about." She picks up a knife and fork to cut her food. "Congrats on the marriage though and has Violet spoken about what she's really looking to go into with ya before?" She glances out a window as the thunder happens.

Though the message wasn't really for her, Lucine responded to it anyway. The little smile she cracked while talking to Robin vanished as quickly as it came when she turned her head to Archer.

"Mickey? That name sounds familiar..." Maurice frowned. "Isn't that the name of your son, Bertram? Yes, come to think of it, I hadn't seen him here yet. Why wasn't he here before? ...Ah well, at least he's here now", he said, turning back to his food.

"...Watch your hands," Briggs sighed to Allister, still underneath the table. His eyes gravitated towards James' balls, highly tempted to give them a good one-two punch with some glass knuckles.

Hearing the name Mickey, Briggs gave Allister a curious stare.

"Oh, my. The famous Mickey is finally gracing us with his presence," Briggs whispered to Allister. "You haven't met him before either, have you boy?"

The stranger slowly walked into the room, enjoying the sound of hushed, inaudible conversations. He picked his duffel bag back up on the way to the dining room and soon strode inside, smiling at everyone like they were long lost friends. Even though most of them probably hated him.

"Hello, family!" He yelled with outstretched arms. "It's good to be home." His voice was slightly hoarse, and had a drawl that just made him sound unintelligent. It was hard to take him seriously, and without the presence of Billy he would be severely out of place.

Upon hearing Mickey's name being mentioned, Vincent looks down at his meal. "Of course, didn't think that we would have someone who's late to the gathering..." The musician muttered to himself.

And once Mickey entered the dining room, Vincent remains silent as he continues to look down at his meal.

"Ah, Mickey-" Maurice turned to look at him, only to be caught off-guard by his appearance. "Are... are you quite alright? What happened to you? Bertram, what on earth has happened to your son?!" He asked, clearly shocked and appalled by this. "I'd have thought you'd treated him better than this!"

"Miss Jacqueline, darling! I didn't get to greet you before, it's been a while since I've last seen you. How's family life? You've three kids, right? You must be quite the busy woman!"

She beamed that same happy smile as she laughed. "Ah, miss Wyn! It is truly a pleasure to see you again! It has been quite a while, has it not?" She brushed some hair out of her face with a grin. "Haha! Well, indeed I do have three children! Although, I've been out exploring the world lately, so I hardly get to see them. I simply can't seem to keep myself in one place, you know? It's suffocating, really! But I make every effort possible to come back and visit them. It seems Lucine has been growing to be quite the mature young lady. I just wished she didn't have to feel as though she had to be so formal. Being a child is about growing up! If you grow up too soon, where is that childhood filled with laughter and endless fun?" She seemed to be rambling, so she put a hand over her lips and chuckled. "My I went on a tangent, my apologies! Go ahead now, darling, why don't you tell me how you have been!"

She gave a close eyed smile, nodding with glee. "I'd have to agree, dearest Wyn. He truly is kind. I am so glad that you've found yourself happiness!" She nodded, giving a small smile to Basil before returning her attention to Wyn.

She gasped upon hearing the name of her eldest, raising her head as she looked at Bertram. Her expression couldn't help but twist into something more upset and solemn. "Bertie, come now, what do you mean good reason? He is still our child!" She felt her hands clench into fists upon the table before unclenching. She needed to remain calm.

He looked expectantly at Gloria's children.

Archer silently stands behind Lucine, keeping his eyes on his feet and frowning, though remaining silent. Or maybe he's shooting a horrible glare underneath the table, burning a hole through it and onto Briggs?

Nobody can tell.

Upon seeing her dearest older son after so very long, she couldn't help but tear up. She had missed him so dearly. She couldn't help but have felt extremely worried about him all this time. She stood to her feet slowly as she swiftly made her way over to him. "Sweetheart!" She supressed the urge to cry, pulling him into a big hug. "It has been so very long, deary. I am so glad to see you again." Perhaps people would be angered that she was acting so nicely towards him. But he was her son. And she still loved him very much.

"Aw, come on, Barty," Billy said, turning to Bertram. "Humans all just one big family anyway, so what it matter if this fellow been kicked out of house? Can't we all just have good time together? No reason to send him back if he go all this way. Besides, how bad can he really be?"

"Luce, my sister." He approached her, unwelcomingly tossling her hair. "My angel. Fate has ordained me to be here today. And it is fate that will keep me here." He pointed outside at the window with that statement, indicating the heavy storm clouds that were enveloping the entire island.

"Hmph." The man formerly known as Mickey looked away from Bertram, instead addressing the rest of the family. "I come here with a heavy heart. With guilt on my chest." He emphatically pounded his chest with that statement. "Because I left all those years ago. And I left without a word of goodbye, like I didn't give a shit about any of you!" He was getting quite emotional, almost to the point of being hammy. He walked around the table as he spoke. It was as if he were on a stage.

"I knew a gathering would be here today. My brothers. My sisters. My aunts and uncles. My mother and father! I knew it in my stomach like Mee-mah knows in her knees when it's going to rain! If I weren't meant to be here, then the gathering would not have been here when I arrived! Like it or not, we are witnessing the threads of fate being sewn in front of us!" He stopped pacing for a moment. "And I stopped by Cousin Vincent's place a few weeks ago, he told me this was going on." He threw that detail out quickly like it was a minor detail to 'fate' bringing him here.

He turned back to Bertram. "We don't need to be father and son today. I know we have our disagreements, and we don't need to talk about them. Let the others enjoy themselves. Just for a night."

He squeezed his mother tightly, not letting her go and tears rolling down his eyes. "I missed you, my mother! But I knew you were never gone! I saw you every night, in the stars! In the flowers! In the dirt!"

"L-Lucine . . ." Her voice cracked, letting go from the hug as she stared at her daughter. "Darling, why say such thing?" She pursed her lips together, her mind swarming with thoughts.

"He left." she answered, simply. "He already left once and doesn't get to come back just because he wants to. He'll just leave again. Now, preferably."

"Luce, my sister." He approached her, unwelcomingly tossling her hair. "My angel. Fate has ordained me to be here today. And it is fate that will keep me here." He pointed outside at the window with that statement, indicating the heavy storm clouds that were enveloping the entire island.

She answered that with a novel expression: anger. "... Must be a terrible fate, then."

Briggs blinked at Allister and gave a blank stare before giving in. "Oh, alright."

Briggs crawled out from underneath the table, getting a bit of wine on his suit. He beckoned for Allister to follow.

"...You must be Mickey. This is Allister. Should you have any requests, he will be more than happy to oblige," Briggs smiled, before noticing Archer arrive. "...Oh, and I suppose I can too, if neither of them are around. You can call me Briggs. And that was not me laughing earlier."

Allister finished cleaning up the last of the wine, and then followed after Briggs.

"Y-Yes, sir!" He said, after Briggs finished introducing him. "A-Anything you need, I will be happy to help you with!" The young butler bows.

Violet has entirely stopped eating her food, though she is very close to finishing it. Instead, she's intently listening, a bit horrified.

She leans in next to Robin and whispers, "Is this. why he... you know?"

Upon hearing Mickey mention that he dropped by his place, Vincent silently stood up from the table.

"Of course, I didn't want to bring it up, Bertie... Since I knew that you and Mickey have some bad blood between each other." Vincent admitted, confirming Mickey's story. "So, yeah, when he came by my place, I didn't recognize him at first. But then when he mentioned that he is related to Bertie, I realized exactly who he was. I have met him back when he was just 3 years old. So... I told him about the gathering happening... And well.... this happened."

"Anyway... Can't we just... enjoy the feast as a family?" Vincent asked sheepishly.
