I have been trying to access the eShop on my 3DS ever since I woke up. This is the most stressful thing ever.

Likewise man, but it seems everywhere is suffering. The PSN is barely chugging, and Steam were like "Hey everyone you can play L4D2 for free" and it crashed them hard. The steam one is actually probably the worst since this is their big sales period and you can't even access the store page without it crashing.

Nope it's across the board. I got the Windwaker Wii U so it came with a download code XP just sitting unredeemed. I also have a £15 Eshop card waiting to buy me some Megaman X games.

3DS eShop hasn't been working for me either, although I checked it this morning, and it's 4PM now.

Well Boxing Day was much more fun than Christmas Day.

Went to pub for dinner with family, then went to my aunty's. My cousin did a quiz for us to wake us up and then we all had a great time and my other cousin got pissed on white wine.

We played Pictionary Man with the Rapidough cards because there was no playdoh and the Pictionary Man prompts were too difficult for the little 'uns. No way was a bairn going to guess "coroner".

Back at work tomorrow :payne:

EDIT: eShop's not working for me either, I really want Streets of Rage :sadshoe:

Sounds like a pretty great family day :) I'm envious.

My day was spent sleeping in and then eventually going to work xP. Work on Boxing Day...it was a shame as at work we looked up the meaning of boxing day and apparently it's the day the masters would let the servant's rest and give them a present box (since the servants would be working Christmas day) and we were just like "T_T but we're servants...."

Still it's been almost 48 hours of black from the e-shop here's hoping it's running now.

It was a lot of fun, you know it's a good day when you laugh so much you almost fall off the sofa.

Sucks that you had to work :sadshoe: my uncle taught me the meaning of Boxing Day today, I'd spent years thinking it had something to do with your boxes from your presents lmao

So I accidentally bought $200 of points on the eShop because of the errors...

I finally got A Link Between Worlds, though! The thing is, when I bought the points, it was because I tried to buy the $50 for ALBW, and I got an error, and when I got back it looked like nothing happened, but when I finally got back into the eShop, it looked like nothing had happened, so I tried it again... and then two more times after that. And when I got into the eShop tonight, I had $200 of points.

When I tried to get ALBW, I got an error, and got kicked out. I came back to the eShop, it looked like nothing happened. I tried buying ALBW, and got and error. When I got back again, though, I had $150 of points, and ALBW was in my 'bought' list. So I just hope that the next time I go into eShop, I still have $150 and not $100 ^^"

I know this seems entirely random, but I start to get more and more confused when I see women with really long fingernails. And I mean long, like a good 2 - 3 cms or even INCHES poking over the length of their fingers.

I mean... how do you FUNCTION in every day life with nails that are so long they literally bend downwards with gravity. You can't handle a phone or mobile with that. You can't freaking type properly. You can't even close your hands without your nails stabbing your flesh!

Plus, they look pretty stupid at times, too. Nice nails are nice to look at and all... but... guys, what about functionality? Am I the only woman on the planet, well next to my mother, who looks at some of these fashion choices like long nails or hair that looks so impractical for every day life, that prefers practicality compared to looking pretty?

We live in an incredible world.

Serious answer: it's a body image thing. You may be lucky enough that beauty standards don't rule your life, but some of those women probably feel like they have to do all of the stereotypically feminine things in order to be desirable. There are still an unfortunate number of people out there who believe that how a woman looks is more important than what she thinks.

My mother isn't like that. She never wears any makeup, her hair is quite short, and she clips her nails whenever they get any longer than a couple of centimeters. Then again, she's 53 years old, so any makeup wouldn't do her looks any favors anyway.

I think my nails are probably too short. Picking at them is one of my nervous habits. :sadshoe:

What about these really fancy, hard to maintain hairstyles in hair magazines? I don't get why they put them in with regular styles. Sure it's fine to have the stuff models wear in there, but right among the actually wearable styles, it's a little annoying. Who would actually wear them?

My sis. Believe me there is a lot of women who really wake up an hour or two earlier just to put make up and do their hair correctly. Though I can't blame them, it is natural to want to be attractive and society put so much emphasis on "the REEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLL women who is feminine, sexy, strong and independant." Also I can understand guys who doesn't want a carbon copy of his best friend as a girlfriend.

So in brief. I'll be single for the rest of my life. :sadshoe: At least I can travel at my pleasure...Once my parents would let me travel alone... :payne:

Fuck body image. I never wear make up - it makes my eyes tired, I can't stand washing my hair although I like growing it out - I like thinking up hairstyles but am too lazy to make them myself, I keep my nails short cause if they're too long, they just bother me when typing or drawing and I don't wear fashionable clothes because... really, they seem too thin. I freeze in them easily. And I hate freezing.

There's this stupid german proverb "Wer schön sein will muss leiden" meaning, if you wanna be pretty, you gotta suffer. So stupid, there are people out there who are pretty or beautiful due to genes and that is not anything that counts as suffering.

C-A

PS: dimentio, regarding your mother, her age has nothing to do with make up. Make up can look quite fetching on a 50+ year old woman, as long as it isn't too big on colors. Just accentuate the personal colors - like a peach or pale pink lipstick, whatever is subtle and all. I don't think anyone should ever wear red lipstick..... except maybe for blacks, but even then, only during the evening.

Actually, red lip stick can look good on the right person. I usually don't consider lip stick to be make up. When I think of make up, I think of mascara, eye liner, blush, that sort of stuff. You are right about how 50+ women can look good in make up, I'm sorry, I was drinking when I posted that. I should get arrested for PUI: Posting under the influence.

That's another reason why I don't like wearing make up. All the stuff that they slather on your face. Moisterizing lotion if you have dry skin. Then the concealer around the eyes, to hide eyebags. Foundation. Loose powder over that. Eyeliner. Eyeshadow. Mascara. That darker powder to create the illusion of shadows. Rouge. Lipliner. Lipstick.

Urgh that is so much work and it leaves your skin feeling all... blegh, all sticky and powdery and slippery at the same time. Really, first thing I did during cosmetician school, on the days where we had make up lessons, I cleaned my face off after my partner was done and the make up was inspected. Feels like I can't breathe under all that stuff.

And still, if you do it right, you can still make make up look good on 50+ women.

C-A

PS: What's the point of rouge, anyway? Just plain looks stupid.

It's not so bad if you're really subtle with it. It's when people pile it on that it looks daft. Personally I don't bother because my cheeks are always bright red anyway from blushing or sweating XD

-

Today I bought myself a Wii. It's the newest console I have after the PS2 XD I am so behind when it comes to consoles it's ridiculous. Glad I didn't wait 7 years to get a 3DS. I'll get the Wii U in 2020 probably -_-

I got Mario Kart because... it's Mario Kart, Resident Evil because I wanted a zombie game and they didn't have House of the Dead, and Super Smash Bros Brawl because everyone says it's brilliant (even the lad who served me said it was amazing).

Eh, it's a fun enough game... but it does have some lag issues. I mean, I mained Zelda for the most part when I wasn't fighting as Peach or Link in previous Smash Bros. And my whole point with Zelda was switching between Zelda and Sheik really fast.
But nope, in Brawl, you start transforming into Sheik or back to Zelda...... and it takes a few good seconds it shouldn't take.

I'd gladly get my hands back on Melee, if I find it.

Yeah...you know they amped up that transformation time so it would give you INVINCIBILITY and could then be used as a dodge you know?

Though they did overall try and 'slow down' the combat from Melee to Brawl to make it less Chaotic. It's still great fun XD best played with friends on a couch.

Brawl in and of itself isn't really THAT slow, but when compared to Melee it's quite a big slower so I think that's where people get angry with it.

Stick to what now? I think my main fun in Melee was trying to collect all the Trophies - where did they go in Brawl? And I do remember doing some fun time battles where it's basically Sudden Death or 200% Hit. Maybe even some battles where the only item allowed to spawn was a pokéball or similar. Otherwise, I loved the various runs you could do, the All Star and such.

Hated that Baseball minigame though...

OmG! OmG, guys, I got a bundle of good news today!

1. My Lightning Returns package has been found! It's in customs. Downside, I will have to pay about 10€ Mehrwertsteuer to get it, but I can pick it up.

2. I got a job. Granted, it's only for tomorrow, but it's a job that gives me money.

Well... okay, those are the only two reasons, really. But it brought me into a good mood.
Now to ruin that mood by playing more Tales of Graces f Arc

And a fun thing. I thought guys were checking if people had a ticket for riding the UBahn earlier, I checked mine and noticed that it was only valid until May 2013. Weird, since I knew I had the ticket valid until May 2014. So I looked and it was behind the 2013 one. Haha, so for a good 7 months I have technically been riding with an invalid ticket. And I have been checked during those 7 months. Just goes to show how the people don't check very well.

Woah $1000 back from College? Nice, was that for the laptop repairs?

I've had this idea for a 2D Fighter about Time Travellers fighting across the timeline bouncing around my head all day. I just think up new mechanics or characters but ahh....

If I only had a gaaammme....company.

Yeah, lucky I still had money left over from my financial aid. No the $1000 is just for me to use however I like.

I have this all the time, especially with book ideas. I have a million ideas for different books, but I just have to take it one at a time. I wish I were better with the tech side of games so I could develop some into games, but I guess I can't do everything...not yet anyway.

There's actually a game with that premise. It's called Time Killers, and it's godawful.

Gaaah better than that BETTER THAN THAT!

That's more about historical characters plucked from time, for me it's more people who discover the ability to time travel and how they use it for their own ends rather than "Death says fight".
