Of course! Just that this IS the 'random conversations' thread... Where we let go of our inhibitions under the relative safety of an online pseudonym!

When you word it like that, I can't help but picture all of us at some bar getting drunk.

Now that you mention it... I did make it sound like that, didn't I?

Spoiler: Afterthought

That's the guy! There was one specific comic artist I had in mind but I couldn't remember his name. That article is surreal XD

I'm back people! been so busy during the last holiday that I didn't visited CR in like 3 weeks, but it doesn't seem like I missed much useful information.

But man oh man! next to studying for exams I think I may be developing a drug problem. When together with my friends I used to smoke weed (totally legal off course) around once every 2 or 3 weeks, but with the holidays and my newly found free time that seems to have gone up to 2 times a week.
I mean, it's a blast every time I do it with friends, but I worry that I may be developing a really bad habit here. Do you guys think 2 times a week is acceptable when you got loads of free time and when it doesn't interfere with work/study or other mandatory responsibilities.
Face your emptiness don't be afraid. The danger is often smaller than your fear.

"...These two frames say all that needs to be said about Rob Liefeld: He is a terrible artist with no concept whatsoever of basic human anatomy, physics, or how things operate..."
"...This is by no means the worst art that Rob Liefeld has ever subjected the world to, but it is the most blatant example of how little a fuck he gives about every aspect of his “craft”, the industry, and above all, the reader..."
"...He is one of the most successful, recognizable, well-known and popular comic book artists in history despite being difficult to work with, egotistical, contrary and missing deadlines on a consistent basis..."
"He has made more money than most of us will ever see in our lifetimes. He still cannot draw a foot."

That's right. Let's kill Rob Liefeld. Let's burn him, he deserves to die.

You are afraid of it affecting your responsibilities or afraid of becoming somehow dependant/addicted?

Difficult question to answer XD

Your culture is one of the few where it is legal after all. Though with drugs you should probably take every doubt into consideration just because they are addictive. If in doubt try an cut back anyway just to be safe.

Welcome back!

The only test for that is... are you worried about it? If it interferes with your ability to get stuff done, and you need it to function, that's the only time that it becomes a real problem. If you worry you might get to that point... I'd say yeah, maybe tone it down. Otherwise, party hard. If it's not a consistent thing, and it's not damaging your ability to live your life, why not?

Nobody... said that? I'm confused if you're defending him or if you're genuinely upset about his inability to draw women's feet. Either way, it's no big deal. He lacks all manner of technical skill and is still richer than God. That's hilarious. He's not suffering any by people making fun of him on the internet.

No, I'm not defending the guy. I just found the way that page repeatedly criticised him somewhat exaggerated and funny, almost like he's the most despicable human being on earth.
But I'm all for people making fun of him if he is such a talentless artist.

I'm no stupid kid and I know about their addictive nature, but I think you are right. 1 time per week should be plenty, that way you retain that 'special' feeling when you use it instead of considering it is a normal occurrence when I see my friends.

Well, off course I worry about it, because you don't want to cross a line that's hard to return to if you know what I mean. But hell no that it doesn't interfere with my responsibilities, because I only do it when certain conditions are met: 1 I need to be able to sleep till 12.00 in the afternoon so my buzz is completely gone and 2: never move other responsibilities so I can do drugs instead.

I dunno, once a week, meaning 52 times a year (it was 52 weeks, right, the year?) does that really still hold the 'special' part of it? Then again, I personally never saw the appeal of drugs - some give you really bad trips, some may make you feel like everything is okay with the world, but I personally feel like drugs would make me lose control over myself.

And I absolutely hate losing control over myself, be it my mind or my body.

Not that I want to promote drugs in any way, but here we see it more as an alternative to alcohol. Having a buzz from weed creates a more relaxing, laughing at everything atmosphere where you talk about the weirdest stuff. Alcohol is more about nullifying your limits, you become numb, more assertive and creates more of a party vibe.
To be honest, I've gone beyond the point that it is 'special' or 'crazy' or anything like that. As a matter of fact after having more experience with weed the chance of having a bad trip decreases. I see it more as fun thing to do with friends if anything.

I don't agree with the losing control over yourself argument you used. Even under influence of any kind of drug (including alcohol) you are always responsible for your own actions. It's one of the reasons why I'm incredibly against driving under influence. If you punch someone while drunk, you are to blame, not the alcohol. you're limits or judgement is impaired when using drugs / alcohol , but it is you who makes the final decision.
Face your emptiness don't be afraid. The danger is often smaller than your fear.

It's not just those kind of drugs, I don't even like anethisia when undergoing surgery. I just feel like I can't control myself any more, regardless if you think drugs impare the brain in such a way that you may find out later what you did while under the influence or you weren't impared in any way.

Also, you think taking weed is only a fun thing to do with friends anymore? That sounds bad to me. I dunno, can't you do something else fun with your friends? And talking to me about alcohol is pretty moot, too. I may drink alcohol, but only in cocktails and even then, it's so rare. And at most I only put a little alcohol into my drink and that's it for the day.

I fulfilled one of my New Year's plans. I bought myself a piece of clothing from desigual. Cost 70€, which I think is pretty expensive for a pullover, but they said it sells so well, it's unlikely that it'll get a discount... oh well. At least I have something of theirs in my closet now.

Also, I bought myself the trilogy of Mass Effect. I know how the third one ends, but the games seem fun and the fact that I can choose to play as a chick is neat. Does she dance as awkwardly as Dude-Shepard does in the disco? And I'm annoyed, yet slightly find it hilarious, that getting intimate with someone in the games nets me an Achievement. They had better play that hilarious "I just had sex" song afterwards...!

Oh and my husband says that they are showing the Puella Magi Madoka Magica movie in his cinema.

Well off course we don't only come together to do drugs! We go out to the city together, have vacations together, going to the movies or even just play board games. It's just one of the things we do occasionally.

Also mass-effect is a really good game IMHO and yes, fem-shep is just as awkward as male shep.

I don't get why people got so pissed at the end of the 3rd game. Okay, I haven't played the games yet, but given what I've seen and heard, I can understand why people think it sort of comes out of nowhere, the character actions and all that. But I have to say, this Indoctrination Theory that was going on after the ending did seem pretty plausible.

Which is why I do not like the extended cut. It doesn't really add anything or explain more about the ending for me. It just shows me stuff that I overall don't care about. It's like seeing Anju and Kafei getting married at the end of Majora's Mask, I don't care about that.

Spoiler: Something about the ME3 Thing
Is it just me or does that kid that Shepard is following in his mind/hallucinations look a lot like him as a child? I think it looks like a very young, child version of Shepard. Something in the nose makes it seem like that.
Of course, I could keep this up as a theory, if I know that the child is female when playing as Chickpard.

I'm finally able to actually use my Amazon gift card.

Problem: My Mom doesn't let me ship things to my house.

Solution: My sister said I could ship stuff to her apartment.

So. I'm thinking about getting this.

EDIT: Do I need a credit card to buy something with a gift card?

If your gift card covers the total price of the game then you shouldn't need to use a credit card.

Also, if someone offers you a candy cane and it appears to be forming a grease like substance on the wrapper, don't eat it because it's probably bacon flavored. I'm speaking from experience here.

Oh man it seems like a busy day, guess I'll try and cover the basics of what I saw.

1: Looby is awesome! Congrats on Five pain-staking years at CR. *raises a toast*

2: ME3 is extremely lacking in bits.

You thought you could be safe in your courts, with your laws and attorneys to protect you. In this world only I am law, my word is fact, my power is absolute.

Alright, but does it taste like bacon or smell like bacon? Or both? Are we talking artificial smokiness here, or the safer alternative to using bacon grease?

I'd think greasy food smells would be a turn off, but... something for everyone, I guess?
