Cat... Nothing deters you, does it? Amazing.

I'm asking this out of sincere curiosity: why do you bother with things that you have so many problems with? If you can only enjoy certain things when you can laugh about gay subtext (whoo boy, I'm not touching that one)... what do you get out of it? Wouldn't it be easier to have your mild amusement, and then... move on to things you actually like on their own merits? I know some people genuinely enjoy analyzing and taking apart the flaws in the media they consume, and if that's you, it's perfectly valid. But, even so, most fans are going to interpret it as you being a buzzkill about something they love.

Not everyone loves to complain; there's a time and a place.

I do enjoy very much pointing out the problems in the AA games. Perhaps it's just me, but if I hear about a game that has me play as a lawyer and law, I expect it to be a good representation of law and actually make me think. Which is not what AA does. It gives me cases full of plot holes and mistakes, filled with lame puns.
The only pun I laughed at "on-camera" during the LP up to now was in Case 1-2, where Phoenix checks through Mia's files. Something about what "a" he can find with his "i". Or something like that. That was kinda funny.

So yes, I enjoy pointing out plot holes. Especially in DL-6, because nothing in it merited the use of Misty Fey. Especially since they contradict themselves. First they say Misty failed at channeling the spirit, then they say she succeeded. They said the police had no evidence and couldn't arrest anyone, but then they say the suspect they arrested was the only person who could've done it.

I enjoy making fun of the mistakes in AA. And there are other games where I have to add some jokes or "complaints" to, because while they are somewhat okay to play, I need a little extra to really enjoy them. And even then... what is so wrong with making fun of something I like? Everybody seems to act like that's a huge travesty.
"Oh, if you like it, then you can't complain about or make fun of it"
Bullshit. The fact that I can make fun of something I like proves that I like it. I love Skyward Sword, but I'll still gladly point out the complaints I have about the game, even if they are different from what majority of the morons are complaining about. ("Enyeh, the motion controls suck, they never work!" well they work fine for me, I have no idea what they are whining about)

I won't deny that making complaints about something means you necessarily don't like it :Hoboright: but I also won't deny it does make you a bit of a buzzkill at time when you show up in a game topic just to put said game down while folks are happily chatting about it.

People who can't take other people's opinion about something should get off the internet.
Plus, as long as the complaints are valid and not just a hissy fit over something small, it's fine.

Well...uh...

No I think everything you've said here is wrong in some way.

A LOT of your problems do seem to be really really small and petty.

And the first is just the wrong attitude to have, some folks have real trouble with things on the internet, it's hardly the easiest place to get along. :ron: We should try and help folks be more accepting.

Back to taletop gaming updates, our Deathwatch game is now on hiatus because we were getting kind of tired of Space Marines, so we're starting up a D&D campaign. Which shall no doubt go hilariously. So far we have: A ridiculously well-statted elf, a Dwarf Druid who rolled terribly, a Rogue witch-hunter with two flintlocks, a Half-Elf Bard, and me, the drunken Monk. Sixth party member's not made his character yet, ut hopefully he'll be a wizard or something so we have a proper stereotypical party.

Ad in Black Crusade, the boarding party did indeed come to get me, just as I was about to blow up the ship, after using my fancy new sword I found to slice effortlessly through lots of limbs and heads Raiden-style. (Especially fitting since I'm technically a cyborg). Then there was the lift ride from hell on the way to the boss fight, and our Space Marine got knocked over by a light breeze. There were walls made of interconnected corpses which I narrowly avoided getting swallowed by, and our half-strength boss fighting party eventually managed to kill him. Then our captain heroically charged in to help us, when every enemy was already dead.

By the way, earlier, I was stobing around on TV Tropes and was under the Innocent Innuendo page. They had a link to the Corset Scene of Kuroshitsuji. Now, given that one of the links in the same sentence led to the manga page showing... Ciel breathing heavily in Sebastian's arms I swear, you guys, it's not yaoi before telling him to burn these fuckers down, I thought the other one was also a link to the manga page.

Huh. Turns out it was to a video extending just the noises of the anime's Corset Scene. Oops. So there I was, on the internet, listening to one of the episodes from the abridged YuGiOh series and suddenly I have Ciel mewling in my ears, due to the headset, that it was enough already.

I heard this scene turned off a lot of guys from the show. Now, it all makes sense, actually, because Black Butler was indeed, originally intended to be a yaoi series, but I think Square Enix or Yana Toboso's editor said no. Anyhow, that's how it is.
I'm not a yaoi fan but I'd watch the series if it didn't have to do with demon contracts.

Well, I admit, the series does seem to overall be the type that would turn the male audience away... I mean, even if it isn't Yaoi, it is filled with very, very beautiful men, hints about things, deep thrusting friendships between men and overall has beautiful women in it... but overall does not have them in it for long. Two big-breasted women I can think of are Madame Red who... um... and Beast, the animal tamer from the circus who..... uh.... yeah, spoilers.

It's the demon contract that bothers you? Seems a bit... strange, but hey, if you don't like that. *shrug*

But I have to say, the anime and manga are vastly different. While the anime had some scenes and storylines from the manga, like the corset scene, it quickly diverts into its own stories. It even finishes things, has a second season that overall has nothing to do with the manga (and from what I read/saw, it's basically just a money-making FANSERVICE FOR THE LADIES season) and has an ending that, even if I only understand the basic of it, makes no freaking sense and spits into the idea of the entire thing.

I mean, the manga isn't even finished... hehe, last chapter I read, it was pretty funny.

I can ignore shonen-ai fanservice, since it's just fanservice, but well, things like demon contracts I stay away from. It's not necessarily just because of my faith but mostly because I just don't like it.
Which is a shame, because to be honest the Black Butler manga seems genuinely interesting.
I have seen that the anime does its own thing, did that Alois guy even appear in the manga or what? And well, the relationshp with him and his butler...let's just say I understand what you're saying.
The only prominent female character I recall seeing was that blond girl and I don't think she appears that much. I wouldn't be surprised if she even died or something.

...I saw tons of shots from the newest chapter on tumblr, and it's all from one page. Oh, hey, a girl! But that's most likely the scene to which you refer.

I don't know. As said, the manga isn't done yet, but as of yet he has not appeared. And I think, or hope, that he is an anime-only character. I mean, I haven't even watched the anime, only saw screenshots, but I just look at Alois and I'm "...why? Before I even know this kid's name, I can tell you are basically a blonde rip-off of Ciel. And your butler is Sebastian, only less sexy, less interesting and I'm pretty sure less intimidating."
Plus, the 2nd Season also seems to have Claude (who I.. lovingly... call CLOD) and Sebastian ship-teasing, Ciel and Alois a ton...
Oh yeah, Lizzie. She's awesome! Well, in the manga. I don't know what they did with her in the anime. I like her, she's adorable.

But Claude and Alois are basically what Yuga is in the recent Zelda game. He's basically a rip-off of how effeminate and funny Ghirahim was. And he fails. Why? Because he is nothing more than a rip-off of Ghirahim. Look, I like Ghirahim, he's a great character and villain, but slapping his personality onto another person does not make the other person as great as Ghirahim...

Probably was that page. I laughed when I read it and even more jokes.
I actually showed a previous page to my husband and said, "Hurr, bow chicka bow wow~ Am I right?"
Then I saw she really WAS going for that angle and I was all, "......huh."

As long as nobody's national bird is a Chukar Partridge...

By the way, maybe I'm not getting it since I just got up, but aren't unicorns mythical/fictional? How can they be a national animal, if there is no proof that it exists?

Yeah. Although the image I posted is actually from a little preview thing that was used for a Subaru commercial. If you'd like you can watch it at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQkgmHEA5_E
Most life-threatening car commercial yet. I'm everyone hates being attacked by Titans while driving their flashy new wheels.

This is why I wanna live in Japan xD. They have the best commercials :sparkly-maggey:

So, you all should watch the Persona 4 anime. It's really good, and so is the music.

No really, it's great.

The music is basically the game music. And the problem with the anime is that it practically expect anyone who watches it to have played the game already, so any potentially surprising "Plot Twist" was made painfully obvious. Which really ruins parts of it.

Spoiler:
You know, plot twists like Naoto's gender... which even in the Japanese version wasn't all that well hidden. Even if her voice actress was Romi Park.

I recently found out that they made an Animal Crossing anime movie that was only released in Japan. This confuses me. There is no conflict in Animal Crossing, how the hell can you make a movie about it?! This movie was released a while ago, before New Leaf. There's apparently a fan dub of it. Have any of you guys watched it, and if so, is it any good?

I've seen a lot of short scenes from this movie. It's not about conflict--the official synopsis from ANN was:
"Ai is a self-reliant girl that moves to Animal Village. She makes friends with the various villagers as she settles into the village. One night as she walked along the beach, she finds a message in the bottle. It sets her off on a quest of planting pine trees around the village to fulfill a miracle on the eve of the Winter Festival."
It seems to be a decent adaption.
